  • How to upload contents of a file to a UITextView?

    Hello! I have about twenty UITextViews and corresponding .txt files. What I want is to make each UITextView take the contents of the corresponding file and display it. Moreover, the text is formatted and it contains some formulas (copy/pasted from Grapher). I've heard about displaying formatted text in UIWebView, but I haven't found a clear explanation anywhere.   • ASP.NET MVC - Do stylesheets have to go in the Site.Master file?

    Hi all, I noticed that I cannot add stylesheets on any page. They must be added to the master page. I already have about 15 stylesheets in the master view, which seems like overkill, since only some of the pages use a certain stylesheet. I imagine I could reference the file via javascript (although, I can't think of how off the top of my head), but it would be really nice to not have to use any.

  • Location of my own directories

    Hello, I am trying to understand how to create my own directory tree and access it from my application. I am doing some kind of learning program and want to create a directory structure like this: -MyLessonsDirectory --LessonDirectory_1 ---Step_1 ---Step_2 ---Step_3 --LessonDirectory_2 ---Step_1 ---Step_2 ---Step_3 . . and so on In each "Step"-directory I will have specific content for that step of the lesson. The content is added by me while developing. Hence, I don't want to create the structure and content from within the application, just access it and reading the content of the directories. If I can create this kind of structure and use it it will be very easy to create a nice design that makes it easy to create new lessons in my app. What I cannot figure out is where I should create those directories in the file-structure in xCode and what is the path to those directories from my application.   • How can I deploy an Adobe Air application including the runtime in a single file executable?

    I am using 7zsfx [Link] to package Java apps together with a JRE as a single file executable. Is it possible to do something similar with Adobe AIR apps if I get a license from Adobe to distribute the runtime? Also, does anybody have any alternative ideas for deploying Adobe Air apps with an embedded runtime? (Reason: Target computers may not have the Air runtime installed, and target users may not have permissions to download and install the runtime.)

  • OpenVPN Setup - Service Won't Start

    I'm in the process of setting up OpenVPN on a VPS running Debian 6. I've walked step-by-step through this guide twice now, and I can't get the service to start. When I start the service, the error reported in the log file is: Cannot ioctl TUNSETIFF tun: Inappropriate ioctl for device (errno=25) I've searched the web a few times and I'm not finding anything helpful. I've tried: Changing file permissions: no change Deleting the file: get an error stating no file found (errno=2) Making a folder named "tun": get an error stating no file found (errno=2) I've wiped my installation and completed the steps verbatim twice now. I get no errors along the way, just the error above within my log file. The contents of my server.conf file are listed below, minus all the comments for brevity.   • Php template caching design

    Hello to all, I want to include caching in my app design. Caching templates for starters. The design I have used so far is very modular. I have created an ORM implementation for all my tables and each table is represented by the corresponding class. All the requests are handled by one controller which routes them to the appropriate webmethod functions. I am using a template class for handling UI parts. What I have in mind for caching includes the implementation of a separate Cache class for handling caching with the flexibility to either store in files, apc or memcache. Right now I am testing with file caching. Some thoughts Should I include the logic of checking for cached versions in the Template class or in the webmethods which handle the incoming requests and which eventually call the Template class. In the first case, things are pretty simple as I will not have to change anything more than pass the template class an extra argument (whether to load from cache or not). In the second case however, I am thinking of checking for a cached version immediately in the webmethod and if found return it. This will save all the processing done until the logic reaches the template (first case senario). Both senarios however, rely on an accurate mechanism of invalidating caches, which brings as to Invalidating caches As I see it (and you can add your input freely) a template cached file, becomes invalidate if: a. the expiration set, is reached. b. the template file itself is updated (ie by the developer when adding a new line) c. the webmethod that handles the request changes (ie the developer adds/deletes something in the code) d. content coming from the db and ending in the template file is modified I am thinking of storing a json encoded array inside the cached file. The first value will be the expiration timestamp of the cache. The second value will be the modification time of the php file with the code handling the request (to cope with option c above) The third will be the content itself The validation process I am considering, according to the above senarios, is: a. If the expiration of the cached file (stored in the array) is reached, delete the cache file b. if the cached file's mod time is smaller than the template's skeleton file mod time, delete the cached file c. if the mod time of the php file is greated than the one stored in the cache, delete the cached file. d. This is tricky. In the ORM implementation I ahve added event handlers (which fire when adding, updating, deleting objects). I could delete the cache file every time an object thatprovides content to the template, is modified. The problem is how to keep track which cached files correpond to each schema object. Take this example, a user has his shortprofile page and a full profile page (2 templates) These templates can be cached. Now, every time the user modifies his profile, the event handler would need to know which templates or cached files correspond to the User, so that these files can be deleted. I could store them in the db but I am looking for a beter approach

  • Help with GetGlyphOutline function(WinAPI)

    I want to use this function to get contours and within these contours, I want to get cubic bezier. I think I have to call it with GGO_BEZIER. What puzzles me is how the return buffer works. "A glyph outline is returned as a series of one or more contours defined by a TTPOLYGONHEADER structure followed by one or more curves. Each curve in the contour is defined by a TTPOLYCURVE structure followed by a number of POINTFX data points. POINTFX points are absolute positions, not relative moves. The starting point of a contour is given by the pfxStart member of the TTPOLYGONHEADER structure. The starting point of each curve is the last point of the previous curve or the starting point of the contour. The count of data points in a curve is stored in the cpfx member of TTPOLYCURVE structure. The size of each contour in the buffer, in bytes, is stored in the cb member of TTPOLYGONHEADER structure. Additional curve definitions are packed into the buffer following preceding curves and additional contours are packed into the buffer following preceding contours. The buffer contains as many contours as fit within the buffer returned by GetGlyphOutline." I'm really not sure how to access the contours. I know that I can change a pointer another type of pointer but i'm not sure how I go about getting the contours based on this documentation. Thanks

  • IE 8 doesn't appear to clear cache on demand. Is anyone else seeing this?

    I have a client that uploads updated pdf files to her Concrete5 CMS, through the file manager, replacing the old file with the same name. She then does a cms "clear cache" and exits as she should. Then, in testing, she finds that the old file still comes up when clicking on the link. On further review, the cms file manager version tracking shows that the file has been updated, and, for me, the new file comes up, as it should, when clicking the link. My client hase also refreshed her browser cache and still, she only gets the old file when clicking on the link. She says that, while she can't seem to force an immediate cache update, overnight it appears to update. My client is also part of a large company-wide lan and intranet. Is it possible that there is a cache function placed outside of her local browser and cms cache that is not updating?

    I've been searching on how to solve this issue but could not find any real and working solution. User model: validates_attachment_content_type :avatar, :content_type = ['image/jpeg', 'image/pjpeg', 'image/x-png', 'image/png', 'image/gif'] Unnecessary error shows up when invalid file type is uploaded: Avatar /tmp/sample,23283,0.txt is not recognized by the 'identify' command. Server details: Ubuntu and Debian which identify results to /usr/bin/identify Specifying command path does not solve the issue: Paperclip.options[:command_path] = "/usr/bin" Any ideas? I looked at geometry.rb file and there seems to be something wrong with it. def self.from_file file file = file.path if file.respond_to?
