Hello. I have read some info about DSL. But what is it good for? What are situations, where using of DSL is better than another approaches?
And how widespread is using of DSL?
I am always subclassing UITableViewCell's and drawing them in code. Is there a good tool to visually get rect sizes so I don't have to guess and check all the time?
Is it possible using Eval? If so, can someone post a short fragment to illustrate? My SqlDataSource returns 1 record with 3 fields, I'd like to Format these into a string. eg:
Record
Field 'Name' = 'Jack'
Field 'Amount' = 100
Field 'Date' = 12.02.2010
asp:Label text should end up being:
Welcome Jack, last payment was 100 on 12.02.2010
if another control than asp:Label is appropriate, that would be good to know also.
I would like to track metrics that can be used to improve my team’s software development process, improve time estimates, and detect special case variations that need to be addressed during the project execution.
Please limit each answer to a single metric, describe how to use it, and vote up the good answers.
So, after a while of researching what SVN system should I use, I end up creating a project in Google Code.. thing is, that ANYONE can habe access to my repository, and is NOT what I want :)
So, I'm looking for a "private Google Code" code hosting web.
I found out that Bitbucket and Assembla are good, but.. any opinions?
Thx!

I'm starting a side project and want to build it with html5/css3. Is not a concern backward compatibility.
I wonder if exist a framework similar to BluePrint/960 grid system. Mainly, I'm looking for the grid system & typografy.
The best (and only I found that play nice with html5 new tags) is http://lessframework.com/, is a good start but wonder if exist something better?
Well, the rule "For money, always decimal" isn't applied inside the Microsoft development team, because if it was:
Namespace: Microsoft.VisualBasic
Assembly: Microsoft.VisualBasic (in Microsoft.VisualBasic.dll)
Financial.IPmt and all the other methods would receive/return decimal and not double as it is.
Now I wonder if I can use this methods without worry with round mistakes?
Should I use some other libraries to work with finances? If yes, could you point me some good ones (for C# use) ?
Thank you.
I have been tasked to setup a continuous integration environment for a GXT 2.1.1 and GWT 2.0.1 environment. Unfortunately I am new to AJAX and Web Services and have little idea how to setup unit tests in the browser environment. Unit tests for the server backend I already have done, since I am a pro at that. GXT is not quite pure GWT which provides some unit testing structure. If anyone has a good starting point...

I want to write a function to generate and store the co-ordinates of an n-cube and I have no idea how to start. Specifically, I wish to generate the co-ordinates for an evenly or randomly distributed cloud of points for this n-cube and store them. What would be a good way to start with this or if possible, a quick solution?

Hey,
We have been using CruiseControl.NET but it is really starting to get on our nerves with the amount of maintenance it needs.
We're looking for something that virtually anybody can manage, and it would also really be good to not have to write a NAnt build script. We use Subversion for Source Control.
Could any experienced users of Dynamic Data comment on whether there are issues with it in:
Internet Explorer 6
Safari
Chrome
Opera
We are looking to use it on a public facing website and good old IE6 has many important users in government departments and large companies so it has to work there. The other browsers could also become an issue.
Hello,
Does anyone one know of a CDN (Content Delivery Network) with true South American peering points or edge nodes? This seems to be quite rare. It seems that most CDNs serve Central and South America from Texas. However, our application requires low latency in Brazil, so this is not a good solution for us.
We would like to avoid having to set up servers in South America just for this piece of the application, but may end up doing that.
Thanks,
Bill
How do you know what are the top stories or hot topics just in RSS feed aggregator NewsNow for example??
Could you please explain?
I am new to Ruby on Rails. I want to build a RSS reader in Ruby on Rails. Could you suggest me some good tutorials or links??
Thanks

How would you convert an integer to base 62 (like hexadecimal, but with these digits: '0123456789abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ').
I have been trying to find a good Python library for it, but they all seems to be occupied with converting strings. The Python base64 module only accepts strings and turns a single digit into four characters. I was looking for something akin to what URL shorteners use.
Are there any gems that would help me make a search box like the one for tags on stackoverflow?
(Rails 2.3.5, required IE7 support and graceful no-script fall-back)
P.S.: Do these boxes annoy you or do you think it's a good thing to have one?
I have been involved in JSF + Facelets dev for a month or so. I used composition, insert, define and other tags from facelets. I am finding it difficult to understand what facelets really give me? What are its alternatives ? What is that View Handler technology?I am not able to find good material / online notes on the same. Can someone explain in laymen terms - What it is? Thanks

I've been using SQLite databases for development for a while now and I thought it would be useful to just view the contents of the generated db file. Are there any good tools out there for viewing SQLite db files and/or tools for running queries against them?

I'd like to turn Powerpoint presentations to SWF files the same way that OpenOffice does it, except automatically through a command line call. I came across http://stackoverflow.com/questions/886144, which led me to explore PyUNO bridge, which comes with OpenOffice as well as the OpenOffice command line API, but I wasn't able to make anything productive of it. Any guidance is appreciated. If there is a good solution outside of OpenOffice, I would be happy to try it too.
Hi all,
which is the book one should start with in the domain of spiking neural networks? I know about Gerstner's "Spiking Neuron Models", published in 2002. Is there a more recent book, or maybe a more suitable one? I have a background in maths and artificial neural networks.
If there are some good articles or overviews in this domain, also add them to the list.
Thanks.
Hi
I would like to create a text box which loads xml files and let users edit them. However, I cannot use XmlDocument to load since the files can be very large. I am looking for options to stream/load the xml document in chunks so that I do not get out of memory errors -- at the same time, performance is important too. Could you let me know what would be good options?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Matt
