    Below is an example of a question given on my last test in a Computer Engineering course. Anyone mind explaining to me how to get the start/end addresses of each? I have listed the correct answers at the bottom... The MSP430F2410 device has an address space of 64 KB (the basic MSP430 architecture). Fill in the table below if we know the following. The first 16 bytes of the address space (starting at the address 0x0000) is reserved for special function registers (IE1, IE2, IFG1, IFG2, etc.), the next 240 bytes is reserved for 8-bit peripheral devices, and the next 256 bytes is reserved for 16-bit peripheral devices. The RAM memory capacity is 2 Kbytes and it starts at the address 0x1100. At the top of the address space is 56KB of flash memory reserved for code and interrupt vector table.     Hi, I'm trying to build a java application with gcj but getting the error below. multiple definition of `java resource .dummy' gcj versions are 4.4.1 on Ubuntu and 4.3.4 on cygwin/windows XP and I'm building it with gcj --main=my.MainClass --classpath=my my/*java Anyone seen this or know a workaround without installing an earlier version of gcj. If that is the way to do it does anyone know how to do that on cygwin or will I have to build it?   • Programming against WSDL without access to actual webservice

    I'm going to use C# to read data from a few webservices. I've done that many times before, but those times I've had direct access to the webservices from my development machine. In this project I've just been sent a .wsdl file, and a couple of .xsd files for the webservice they have in their local intranet. I've seen that I can use "Add Web Reference", and point directly to the .wsdl file, so that a C# class is created. But how can I really test it? I'd like to return some dummy data that I can visualize while I develop. Any tips for this situation?

  • Ruby Methods: how to return an usage string when insufficient arguments are given

    Hi, After I have created a serious bunch of classes (with initialize methods), I am loading these into IRb to test each of them. I do so by creating simple instances and calling their methods to learn their behavior. However sometimes I don't remember exactly what order I was supposed to give the arguments when I call the .new method on the class. It requires me to look back at the code. However, I think it should be easy enough to return a usage message, instead of seeing: ArgumentError: wrong number of arguments (0 for 9) So I prefer to return a string with the human readable arguments, by example using "puts" or just a return of a string. Now I have seen the rescue keyword inside begin-end code, but I wonder how I could catch the ArgumentError when the initialize method is called. Thank you for your answers, feedback and comments!

  • HOWTO: Deserialize WCF message using OperationContract

    Hi, I succeeded in building a WCF client generated by svcutil.exe from the WSDL. Using the generated client proxy class I can call the web service of an external service supplier. I also succeeded in coding a message inspector, as I need to log both raw XML request and response as full SOAP message to the database. For an emergency szenario I also need to be able to "import" a raw XML response. I found many hints on using XMLSerializer or deserializing WCF messages based on the message contract. But how can I deserialize a raw XML response based on an operation contract? For a first test I use one of the logged raw responses, save it to a file and now try to deserialize it to the response type as generated in the client proxy. Somehow I must succeed in calling DeserializeReply() from class ClientOperation. But how to get there? I happily acced any help as I'm quite new to WCF... TIA, Stefan

What's the best way to simplify this? My Person model has all the validations it needs. Is there a way (assuming the request has multi-model parameters) that I can just do: @person = People.new(params[:person]) and then the initializer can take care of the rest?

    Hi everyone: I just begin to study ARM assembly language, and am not clear about how to use MOV to transfer an immediate number into a register. From both the ARM reference manual and my textbook, it's said that range of immediate number following MOV instruction is 0-255. But when I test on my own PC in ADS 1.2 IDE, instruction MOV R2, #0xFFFFFFFF performs well. Isn't number 0xFFFFFFFF out of range according to the specification? Hope someone can give me a hand.     Hi All, I have this custom written CMS built on XAMPP. I'm trying to test the same on lighttpd to benchmark the so-called performance gains... but am stuck at the rewrite rules. I use the default rewrite rules of WordPress in my .htaccess which hands all url parsing over to my script as long as there aren't any files or directories same as the URL structure.     I am trying to improve the performance of the threaded application with real-time deadlines. It is running on Windows Mobile and written in C / C++. I have a suspicion that high frequency of thread switching might be causing tangible overhead, but can neither prove it or disprove it. As everybody knows, lack of proof is not a proof of opposite :). Thus my question is twofold: If exists at all, where can I find any actual measurements of the cost of switching thread context? Without spending time writing a test application, what are the ways to estimate the thread switching overhead in the existing application? Does anyone know a way to find out the number of context switches (on / off) for a given thread?

I built an OSMF video player, and I'd like to use this instead of the FLVPlayback component, which seems like the only way to add an actionscript cuepoint?     I'm having difficulty using reinterpret_cast. Before I show you my code I'll let you know what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to get a filename from a vector full of data being used by a MIPS I processor I designed. Basically what I do is compile a binary from a test program for my processor, dump all the hex's from the binary into a vector in my c++ program, convert all of those hex's to decimal integers and store them in a DataMemory vector which is the data memory unit for my processor. I also have instruction memory. So When my processor runs a SYSCALL instruction such as "Open File" my C++ operating system emulator receives a pointer to the beginning of the filename in my data memory. So keep in mind that data memory is full of ints, strings, globals, locals, all sorts of stuff. When I'm told where the filename starts I do the following: Convert the whole decimal integer element that is being pointed to to its ASCII character representation, and then search from left to right to see if the string terminates, if not then just load each character consecutively into a "filename" string. Do this until termination of the string in memory and then store filename in a table. My difficulty is generating filename from my memory.     I have an actionlink that on click im passing a List of objects to a controller action. Example: View: Html.ActionLink("TestLink", "TestMethod", "Test", Model.SampleList, null) TestController: public ActionResult TestMethod(List sampleList) { return View(sampleList); } When I do this I get a null sampleList. I can pass a single complex object fine just not a collection of it. Do I need the correct routing for this? The reason I'm doing this is instead of passing an id and do a look up in the controller action, I just pass in the data.

    I'm getting images from a C328R camera attached to a small arduino robot. I want the robot to drive towards orange ping-pong balls and pick them up. I'm using the C# code supplied by funkotron76 at http://www.codeproject.com/KB/recipes/C328R.aspx. Is there a library I can use to do this, or do I need to iterate over every pixel in the image looking for orange? If so, what kind of tolerance would I need to compensate for various lighting conditions? I could probably test to figure out these numbers, but I'm hoping someone out there knows the answers.

Unfortunately my device is on firmware 3.1.2 (which I don't want to upgrade). My SDK only shows 3.1.3 as possible Target. As a result it can't be installed on my 3.1.2 device. Where can I set/change to target platform ? Otherwise my App would only run on the newest firmwares, right ? Instead I want to provide it to every User with OS 3.0

  • How can I create a MethodInfo from an Action delegate

    I am trying to develop an NUnit addin that dynamically adds test methods to a suite from an object that contains a list of Action delegates. The problem is that NUnit appears to be leaning heavily on reflection to get the job done. Consequently, it looks like there's no simple way to add my Actions directly to the suite. I must, instead, add MethodInfo objects. This would normally work, but the Action delegates are anonymous, so I would have to build the types and methods to accomplish this. I need to find an easier way to do this, without resorting to using Emit. Does anyone know how to easily create MethodInfo instances from Action delegates?

  • How to get paperclip to delete files

    I have a model that is using Paperclip to manage the file. After I delete the model, I obviously would like the file to be deleted as well, but I cannot seem to find out how to get the file deleted using Paperclip. I have tried self.sourcefile = nil if !sourcefile.dirty? in the before_destroy def, but that had no effect. (I want to be able to have it delete the file locally when I test, and then on S3 when I use that - So i need a pure paperclip solution) Any ideas?

I assume that because each invocation is on a different thread that Rhino Mocks loses track of the object? Pseudocode: var someStub = MockRepository.GenerateStub() Parallel.Foreach(collectionOfInts, anInt => someStub.DoSomething(anInt)) someStub.AssertWasCalled(s => s.DoSomething, Repeat.Five.Times) This test will return an expectation violation, expecting the stub to be called 5 times but being actually called 0 times. Any ideas how we can tell the lambdas to keep track of the thread-local stub object?
