  • In cygwin, why is there a lingering file filename.zip in a directory after running rm filename.zip?

    In cygwin in windows vista, I tried to remove a few zip files I created from the command line in cygwin. The rm finished without complaining, but there remains entries for these zip files in the directory, that cannot be opened or deleted, either in cygwin or vista. For example, ls -l shows the following after performing the rm: $ ls -l ls: cannot access submission.zip: No such file or directory ls: cannot access otherfile.zip: No such file or directory total 36 ??????????? ? ? ? ? ? submission.zip -rwx------ 1 username None 68 May 4 13:36 makefile ??????????? ? ? ? ? ? otherfile.zip ... What's causing this, and how can I fix it?

    Hi, I have made a sample application which constructs a filter graph to capture audio from the microphone and stream it to a file. Is there any filter which allows me to stream to a memory buffer instead? I'm following the approach outlined in an article on msdn and are currently using the CLSID_FileWriter object to write the audio to file. This works nicely, but I cannot figure out how to write to a memory buffer. Is there such a memory sink filter or do I have to create it myself? (I would prefer one which is bundled with windows XP)

  • Using svn remove - preserve file on disk instead of having it deleted?

    Hi, I am creating an eclipse project, which generates a lot of files I don't want to keep under version control. For example, it creates a project folder like: project/ bin/ horse.class cow.class src/ horse.java cow.java so what I do is add the project folder to svn, like: svn add project this puts everything under control, even the bin and .class files. All of those files will have the little 'a' next to them. How can I simply remove the 'add' status from those files? If I try: svn remove bin/horse.class I have to use the --force option and it deletes the file from disk. Is there a way to simply remove it from source but not delete the file from disk? Thanks

As I first thought to use just encrypting/decrypting file in AES but my professor pointed out that MS Access database would be much better choice.     I have fileA.php on SERVER_A and fileB.php on SERVER_B fileB.php makes a curl request to fileA.php for it's contents How can fileA.php determine that the request is coming specifically from fileB.php? -- I was thinking about sending the $_SERVER['SCRIPT_NAME'] in fileB.php to fileA.php but since someone can go into fileB.php or any file in general and just do $_SERVER['SCRIPT_NAME'] = 'fileB.php'; it's not really that secure. So how can I determine, for security reasons, that the request is coming from a specific file on a different server?

    I am building a shared library on Ubuntu 9.10. I want to export only a subset of my functions from the library. On the Windows platform, this would be done using a module definition ( .def) file which would contain a list of the external and internal names of the functions exported from the library. I have the following questions: How can I restrict the exported functions of a shared library to those I want (i.e. a .def file equivalent) Using .def files as an example, you can give a function an external name that is different from its internal name (useful for prevent name collisions and also redecorating mangled names etc) On windows I can use the EXPORT command (IIRC) to check the list of exported functions and addresses, what is the equivalent way to do this on Linux?

    With a DataContext and a blank file-based database that already exists, is it possible to write the Data Context classes (i.e. the ones I added to the designer) to create the db schema? With a data context I only see the abilities to either: create a new database file and have its structure created at the same time, or to populate data into an existing database having preexisting schema. I'm looking for a hybrid solution between those two worlds.     Hi, This is probably a stupid question, but how do I run a class file on windows 7? I usually create my own .java files and then use a basic IDE (with JDK6) to compile it to a class and run it automatically. My professor gave a .class file that we are supposed to play with extensively but I have no idea how to to run it here. Note that I cannot run it by typing: java classname.class because it contains gui stuff especially buttons and such.     My web application sends me diagnostic info from the browser javascript telling me that a [script] tag I've injected has failed to download the associated .js file. I can't reproduce this locally, and there is no particular pattern to which file fails, or what the browser type is. There is a pattern to the geo location of the requests - Mexico and Brazil are always more frequent - so I'm guessing that perhaps the internet in general is just more flaky there, and it is just network issues causing the failures. I'd really like to know for sure, though. Is there any way to determine, from the browser javascript, whether the failure occurred because of an error returned by the server, from a network error, or from a protocol timeout? I don't care if the mechanism is browser-specific, since it seems likely that the same issue is causing the error on all browser types.

It looks like this: RootFolder - error.log - test - asd.txt - sd - testing.txt What I have now is an array of filepaths the user is allowed to view. I need to take this array into account when constructing the above tree. That array looks like this: Array ( [0] => Array ( [filePath] => RootFolder\test\sd ) [1] => Array ( [filePath] => RootFolder\error.log ) ) It would be easy to do a if in_array($path, $allowed) but that won't give me the tree. Just a list of files... Another part I'm stumped on is this requirement: If the user has access to view the folder test, they then have access to all children of that folder. My idea was to simply parse the filepaths. For example, I'd confirm that RootFolder\test\sd was a directory and then create a tree based on the '/' count. Like I was doing earlier. Then, since this is a directory, I'd pull out all files within this directory and show them to the user. However, I'm having trouble converting this to working code... Any ideas?

  • How can I use git to stage only one line in a file for commit, all from a script?

    I'm writing a simple pre-commit git hook that updates the year in copyright headers for files that are staged for commit. After modifying the line with the copyright, I would like the hook to stage that line so that it is part of the commit. It can't just git add the whole file, because there may be other pre-existing changes in there that shouldn't be staged. I don't see any options in the git add manual the let you stage specific lines. I figure I could git stash save --keep-index, apply my change, git add the file, and then git stash pop, but that seems rather crude. Any better approaches?

  • Why does SQLite say it can't read SQL from a file?

    Hi all. I have a bunch of SQL in a file, which creates the tables and so forth. The problem is that the .read command simply returns "can't open xxx" when I try to execute it. I've set the permissions to everybody read/write, but that didn't help. I can cat the file from the command line and see it fine. This is under Mac OS 10.6.3. Anybody have any idea here? Thanks!
