  • Removing empty space with jQuery after deleting Selectable item

    - by Tx3
    I have two ordered lists and user can move items between them. I am using jQuery UI's Selectable for both of them. Problem is that when I move item from the middle of the list it leaves an empty space behind. How can I make list shrink according to the how many items is actually in the list? HTML <ol id="allUnits"> <li class="ui-state-default">Item 1</li> <li class="ui-state-default">Item 2</li> <li class="ui-state-default">Item 3</li> <li class="ui-state-default">Item 4</li> <li class="ui-state-default">Item 5</li> </ol> <input id="arrowRight" type="image" alt="Move item to right" src="<%= Url.Content("~/Content/Images/arrowRight.png")%>" /> <input id="arrowLeft" type="image" alt="Move item to left" src="<%= Url.Content("~/Content/Images/arrowLeft.png")%>" /> <ol id="productUnits"> <li class="ui-state-default">Item 1</li> <li class="ui-state-default">Item 2</li> <li class="ui-state-default">Item 3</li> <li class="ui-state-default">Item 4</li> <li class="ui-state-default">Item 5</li> </ol> jQuery $().ready(function () { $("#allUnits").selectable(); $("#productUnits").selectable(); $('#arrowRight').click(function () { return !$('#allUnits .ui-selected').remove().appendTo('#productUnits').removeClass(".ui-selected"); }); $('#arrowLeft').click(function () { return !$('#productUnits .ui-selected').remove().appendTo('#allUnits').removeClass(".ui-selected"); }); });

  • jQuery + External javascript: How to embed videoplayer in div

    - by Dennis
    I just started with jQuery and so far I have a really good impression of the framework. But now I have a problem that I can't figure out on myself. I want to embed an external javascript file that loads a videoplayer and displays it. If I include the <script>...</script> directly in HTML it loads just fine. But when I try to load it with jQuery it has very different behaviors in several browsers but it doesn't work in a single one. Either the player is not loaded at all or it doesn't update the selected div but reloads the player on a blank page. This is the source: <html> <head> <style type="text/css"> div#test { width: 100%; height: 500px; margin: 10px auto; padding: 5px; border: 1px solid #777; background-color: #fbca93; text-align: center; } </style> <script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.1/jquery.min.js"></script> <script> $(document).ready(function(){ var video = "<script type=\'text\/javascript\' src=\'http:\/\/www.physicalfitnet.com\/video_syndication\/embed\/jssingle.aspx?vid=651&pub=9DF8233261D101B86368400385B8FF2E\'><\/script>"; $("div#test").html(video); }); </script> </head> <body> <div id="test"> Hi</div> </body> </html> I uploaded everything to http://kernast.de/test ... any help is appreciated. • How do I avoid having JSONP returns cached in an HTML5 offline application?

    - by Kent Brewster
    I had good luck with cached offline apps until I tried including data from JSONP endpoints. Here's a tiny example, which loads a single movie from the new Netflix widget API: <!DOCTYPE html> <html manifest="main.manifest"> <head> <title>Testing!</title> </head> <body> <p>Attempting to recover a title from Netflix now...</p> <script type="text/javascript"> function ping(r) { alert('API reply: ' + r.catalog_title.title.regular); } var cb = new Date().getTime(); var s = document.createElement('SCRIPT'); s.src = 'http://movi.es/7Soq?v=2.0&output=json&expand=widget&callback=ping&cacheBuster=' + cb; alert('SCRIPT src: ' + s.src); s.type = 'text/javascript'; document.getElementsByTagName('BODY')[0].appendChild(s); </script> </body> </html> ... and here's the contents of my manifest, main.manifest, which contains no files and is only there so my browser knows to cache the calling HTML file. CACHE MANIFEST Yes, I've confirmed that my server is sending the manifest down with the correct content type, text/cache-manifest. The app works fine--meaning both alerts show--the first time I run it, but subsequent runs, even with the attempt at cache-busting in line 10, seem to be attempting to load the script from cache no matter what the query string is. I see the alert showing the script source, but the callback never fires. If I remove the manifest link from line 2 and reset my browser--being Safari and the iPhone Simulator--to clear cache, it works every time. I've also tried alerting the number of SCRIPT tags in the page, and it's definitely seeing both the existing and dynamically-created tag in all cases.

  • jquery touch punch - draggable on ipad

    - by dshuta
    i am starting to work with the jquery touch punch extensions in order to allow draggability on ipad, but i am getting tripped up right away. probably something terribly dumb on my part. the draggable example from the developer works fine on my ipad: http://furf.com/exp/touch-punch/draggable.html but not for me: http://danshuta.com/touchpunch/ this works fine in my desktop browser, but on the ipad it just focuses on the block and scrolls the entire page as i drag, as if it were just an image or other normal embedded object. as this is what happens normally with jquery/ui on ipad, this makes me think it is not loading or otherwise ignoring the "punch" code from my site (though if i host the jquery files on my site via the same path, those load and function fine in desktop browser). here's the entire code, very basic: <!DOCTYPE html> <html lang="en"> <head> <meta charset="utf-8" /> <title>Touchpunchtest</title> <script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery.min.js"></script> <script src="http://code.jquery.com/ui/1.8.17/jquery-ui.min.js"></script> <script src="js/jquery.ui.touch-punch.js"></script> </head> <body> <div id="draggybox" onclick="void(0)" style="width: 150px; height: 150px; background: green;"></div> <script>$('#draggybox').draggable();</script> </body> </html> what am i missing?!

    - by DickieBoy
    been having trouble with this script, ive managed to get it working in ie8, works on chrome fine. initilize: function(){ $('#my_form').submit(function(){ if ($.browser.msie && window.XDomainRequest) { var data = $('#my_form').serialize(); xdr=new XDomainRequest(); function after_xhr_load() { response = $.parseJSON(xdr.responseText); if(response.number =="incorrect format"){ $('#errors').html('error'); } else { $('#errors').html('worked'); } } xdr.onload = after_xhr_load; xdr.open("POST",$('#my_form').attr('action')+".json"); xdr.send(data); } else { $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: $('#my_form').attr('action')+".json", data: $('#my_form').serialize(), dataType: "json", complete: function(data) { if(data.statusText =="OK"){ $('#errors').html('error'); } if(data.statusText =="Created"){ response = $.parseJSON(data.responseText); $('#errors').html('Here is your code:' +response.code); } } }); } return false; }); } I understand that ie7 does not have the XDomainRequest() object. What should I do to get correct position of main content?

  • Error 100 When Attempting to post from app to Facebook wall?

    - by IMAPC
    I'm playing around with the Facebook API, and have gotten far enough to get the access token into my app, but when I go to actually send a post to my Facebook wall I get the error message, {"error":{"message":"(#100) You can't post this because it has a blocked link.","type":"OAuthException","code":100}}1 I'm not attempting to send any kind of link, just "Hello, World!" so this seems pretty weird to me :\ Here's my code so far: $content = urlencode("Hello, World!"); $accesstoken = urlencode($row['fbid']); $result = getPageWithPOST("https://graph.facebook.com/me/feed", "access_token=" . $accesstoken . "&message=" . $content); echo $result; where getPageWithPOST is, function getPageWithPOST($url, $posts) { $c = curl_init(); curl_setopt($c, CURLOPT_URL, $url); curl_setopt($c, CURLOPT_POST, true); curl_setopt($c, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, $posts); $content = curl_exec ($c); curl_close ($c); return $content; } thanks!

    hi, i have a problem with a joomla component. i'm, unsing php and json for some dynamic drop down boxes. here is the code:` jQuery( function () { //jQuery.ajaxSetup({error : function (a,b) {console.dir(a); console.dir(b);}}); jQuery("#util, #loc").change( function() { var locatie = jQuery("#loc").val(); var utilitate = jQuery("#util").val(); if ( (locatie!= '---') && (utilitate!='---') ) jQuery.getJSON( "index.php?option=com_calculator&opt=json_contor&format=raw", { locatie: locatie, utilitate: utilitate }, function (data) { var html = ""; if ( data.success == 'ok' ) for (var i in data.val) html += "<option name=den_contor value ='"+ i+"' >" + data.val[i]+ " </option>"; jQuery("#den_contor").html( html ) } ) }) }); the query works, but only on one PC. we have exactly the same xampp server, exactly the same files. on one pc it works, and on a online server and on my pc it doesn't.   • php + MySQL editing table data.

    - by Jacksta
    This question is relating to 2 php scripts. The first script is called pick_modcontact.php where I choose a contact (from a contact book like phone book), then posts to the script show_modcontact.php When I click the submit button on the form on pick.modcontact.php. As a result of submitting the form I am then taken to show_modcontact.php. As the variables are not present the user is directed back to pick_modcontact.php I can not work out how to correct the code so that it will show the results of the script show_modcontact.php This script shows all contacts in a database which is an "address book" this part works fine. please see below. • PHP IIS problems downloading file says it is corrupt

    - by Matt
    Hi, I am running PHP on IIS 6 with mssql. I have uploaded a file to my webserver through a php script. Upon checking the file on the server the file is ok and not corrupt. However, when i then have a link on my website to try and download the file, it says the file is corrupt. I know the file isnt corrupt as i can view it perfectly if i look at the file on the server. Is seems like this is a common problem as a similar problem was posted here: http://www.bigresource.com/Tracker/Track-php-1pAakBhT/ Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, M My download code is as follows: $filesize = $rows->filesize; $filepath = $rows->filepath; header("Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=$filename"); header("Content-length: $filesize"); header("Content-type: application/pdf"); header("Cache-control: must-revalidate"); header("Content-Description: PHP Generated Data"); readfile($filepath);

    Hi, I'm doing Grails To Action sample for chapter one. Every was just fine until I started to work with Services. • Ruby on Rails user login form in main layout

    - by Jimmy
    Hey guys I have a simple ror application for some demo stuff. I am running into a problem with trying to move my login form from the users controller and just have it displayed in the main navigation so that a user can easily log in from anywhere. The problem is the form doesn't generate the correct action for the html form. Ruby code: <% form_for(url_for(:action => 'login'), :method => 'post') do |f| %> <li><%= f.text_field("username") %></li> <li><%= f.password_field("password") %></li> <li><%= submit_tag("Login")%></li> <% end %> The problem is depending on the controller I am currently in this generates HTML actions like <form action="/home" method="post">...</form> when it should be generating HTML like so <form action="/login" method="post">...</form> I know I could simply do an HTML form here but I want to keep things as easy to maintain as possible. Any help?

  • Ajax Request using jQuery in Rails

    - by Steve
    Hi... I am sending an Ajax Request using jQuery. What happens is that I am getting an "405 Method Not Allowed" Error. I am just posting a form, which would get the detail from the form and insert it into the DB. Just the usual stuff.I am using WEBrick that comes as default with the rails package. Can somebody please tell me how to fix this. This is the code that triggers the Ajax Request $.post($(this).attr("action") + ".js",$(this).serialize(),null,"script"); Response Headers Cache-Control no-cache Allow GET, PUT, DELETE Content-Type text/html; charset=utf-8 Content-Length 9502 Server WEBrick/1.3.1 (Ruby/1.9.1/2009-12-07) Date Wed, 02 Jun 2010 20:41:33 GMT Connection Keep-Alive Request Headers Host localhost:3000 User-Agent Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 Accept application/json, text/javascript, */* Accept-Language en-us,en;q=0.5 Accept-Encoding gzip,deflate Accept-Charset ISO-8859-1,utf-8;q=0.7,*;q=0.7 Keep-Alive 115 Connection keep-alive Content-Type application/x-www-form-urlencoded; charset=UTF-8 X-Requested-With XMLHttpRequest Referer http://localhost:3000/viewspot/3 Content-Length 141 Pragma no-cache Cache-Control no-cache

  • Mimic Coldfusion's debug output in PHP?

    - by TekiusFanatikus
    I'm trying to mimic Coldfusion's debug output in PHP. Here's an example of what it looks like (ie. Execution Time section): I've turned to XDebug. Ideally, the exception stack error output would be what I'd be looking for. However, it only shows up when an exception occurs. I also tried something like (in our CMS-ish app) this (original question here): $content.= "<?php xdebug_start_trace('e:/xdebug/trace');?>"; $content.= "<?php require('".$page['file_'.LG]."'); ?>"; $content.= "<?php xdebug_stop_trace();?>"; ... $content.= "<?php echo readfile('e:/xdebug/trace.xt');?>"; However, I get an insane, browser crashing HTML table dropped at the bottom of page. Not very efficient. My php.ini config: xdebug.trace_format = 2 xdebug.collect_vars = 1 xdebug.collect_params = 4 xdebug.dump_globals = 1 xdebug.dump.SERVER = 'REQUEST_URI' xdebug.show_local_vars = 1 xdebug.show_mem_delta = 1 I'm just wondering if someone has already done something similar?

  • S.redirectTo leads always to a blank screen

    - by Jaime Ocampo
    I am now playing a little bit with lift (2.8.0), and all the features in LiftRules work as intended. But I haven't been able to use S.redirectTo at all. I always ends with a blank screen, no matter what. No error messages at all! As an example, I have the following form: ... <lift:logIn.logInForm form="post"> <p><login:name /></p> <p><login:password /></p> <p><login:submit /></p> </lift:logIn.logInForm> ... And the code is: object LogIn extends helper.LogHelper { ... def logInForm(in: NodeSeq): NodeSeq = { var name = "" var password = "" def login() = { logger.info("name: " + name) logger.info("password: " + password) if (name == "test1") S.redirectTo("/example") if (name == "test2") S.redirectTo("/example.html") if (name == "test3") S.redirectTo("example.html") S.redirectTo("/") } bind("login", in, "name" -> SHtml.text(name, name = _), "password" -> SHtml.password(password, password = _), "submit" -> SHtml.submit("Login", login)) } } The method 'login' is invoked, I can check that in the log information. But as I said, no matter which name I enter, I always end with a blank screen, although 'examples.html' is available when being accessed directly in the browser. How should I invoke S.redirectoTo in order to navigate to 'examples.html'? Also, why don't I receive an error message (I am logging at a debug level)? I think all the configuration in Boot is correct, since all LitRules examples (statelessRewrite, dispatch, viewDispatch, snippets) work fine.

  • MVC3 View For Loop values initialization

    - by Ryan
    So I have a for loop in my View that is supposed to render out the input boxes. Now inside these input boxes I want to put lables that disappear when you click on them. This is all simple. Now it's probably because my brain was wired for php first, and it has been difficult to get it to think in lambdas and object orientation, but I can't figure out how to do this: @{ for (int i = 0; i < 3; i++) { <div class="editor-label grid_2">User</div> Model.Users[i].UserFirstName = "First Name"; Model.Users[i].UserLastName = "Last Name"; Model.Users[i].UserEmailAddress = "Email Address"; <div class="grid_10"> @Html.TextBoxFor(m => Model.Users[i].UserFirstName, new { @class = "user-input" }) @Html.TextBoxFor(m => Model.Users[i].UserLastName, new { @class = "user-input" }) @Html.TextBoxFor(m => Model.Users[i].UserEmailAddress, new { @class = "user-input-long" }) @Html.CheckBoxFor(m => Model.Users[i].IsUserAdmin) <span>&nbsp;admin?</span> </div> <div class="clear"> </div> } } And initialize the values for the users. And you're probably thinking "Of course that won't work. You're going to get a Null Reference Exception", and you would be correct. I might need to initialize them somewhere else and I don't realize it but I'm just not sure. I've tried the [DefaultValue("First Name")] route and that doesn't work. I'm probably thinking about this wrong, but my brain is already shot from trying to figure out how to wire up these events to the controller, so any help would be appreciated!
