• MacBook Pro - Aquamacs - spell check

  I have tried to use spell check for aquamac. I highlighted a region of the text. Then clicked Edit, then spell check region. I got the error message: Error : No word lists can be found for the language "en_US". Then I went to the website to download the following dictionaries: CocoAspell : I just clicked the download button. It was reported that the download was successful. However, when I tested it and highlighted a text region and clicked spell check. The same error message came out. Do I need to pull the downloaded .pkg to a certain place, such as the application folder, before I opened the .pkg? Or what else do I need to do make it work? I also downloaded the base package Aspell (for Intel) and the pre-built dictionaries as (as the instruction of the website), just the same way as point 1. I still got the same error message. • Reading component parameters and setting defaults

  I'm pulling my hair on this because it should be simple, but can't get it to do the right thing. What's the best practice way of doing the following I've created a custom component that extends <s:Label> so now the Label has additional properties color2 color3 value which can be called like this and are used in the skin. <s:CustomLabel text="Some text" color2="0x939202" color3="0x999999" value="4.5" /> If I don't supply these parameters, I'd like some defaults to be set. So far I've had some success, but it doesn't work 100% of the time, which leads me to think that I'm not following best practices when setting those defaults. I do it now like this: [Bindable] private var myColor2:uint = 0x000000; [Bindable] private var myColor3:uint = 0x000000; [Bindable] private var myValue:Number = 10.0; then in the init function, I do a variation of this to set the default myValue = hostComponent.value; myValue = (hostComponent.value) ? hostComponent.value : 4.5; Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, depending on the type of variable I'm trying to set. I eventually decided to read them as Strings then convert them to the desired type, but it seems that this also works half the time.

• RegularExpression Validator doesn't display error message.

  I have a regular expression validation control initialized to validate a textbox control. I want users to be able to enter U.S. Currency values ($12,115.85 or 1500.22 etc.). I found a regular expression off of regexlib website that does the trick. The validation control seems to be working except for one crucial thing. If invalid data is entered, the validation text dispalys (a red "*" next to the textbox), but the page will still submit and the error message won't pop up... I thought that the error message is supposed to display and the page won't submit if the validation control detects invalid data. Isn't this automatic with ASP .NET? I have searched extensively on how to create validation controls, but haven't found anything different than what I am already doing. • Content-disposition:inline header won't show images inline?

  I'm trying to show an image inline on a page. I know when the browser can't display the content inline it will force a download anyway, but these are PNG and GIF images which display in the browser fine otherwise. In IE it doesn't force a download but it displays the image in ASCII. If I comment out the entire image case it FF and Chrome both display the ASCII but not the image. I thought setting the content type would allow FF and Chrome to show the actual image, and also allow the location to be used as an src. The javascript and css shows fine of course. Anyone got any ideas how I can make the images show properly? Thanks :)

• Convert string to decimal retaining the exact input format

  Hi All, I'm sure this is a piece of cake but I'm really struggling with something that seems trivial. I need to check the inputted text of a textbox on the form submit and check to see if it's within a desired range (I've tried a Range Validator but it doesn't work for some reason so I'm trying to do this server-side). What I want to do is: Get the value inputted (eg. 0.02), replace the commas and periods, convert that to a decimal (or double or equivalent) and check to see if it's between 0.10 and 35000.00. Here's what I have so far: string s = txtTransactionValue.Text.Replace(",", string.Empty).Replace(".", string.Empty); decimal transactionValue = Decimal.Parse(s); if (transactionValue >= 0.10M && transactionValue <= 35000.00M) // do something If I pass 0.02 into the above, transactionValue is 2.   I'm having problems getting AppendHeader to work properly if I am also using an authorize filter. I'm using an actionfilter for my AJAX actions that applies Expires, Last-Modified, Cache-Control and Pragma (though while testing I have tried including it in the action method itself with no change in results). If I don't have an authorize filter the headers work fine. Once I add the filter the headers I tried to add get stripped. • MSBuild - Writing Escape Characters to Files

  I've got a very similar scenario to the one described in this post. It describes how to load the contents of a file that contains properties & items, making sure they're resolved as part of the process. I'm doing the same thing except writing the contents away to another text file (generally .ini file). In short I'd start by importing a project / propertygroup which contains this text: ; ----------- [heading] setting1=$(FirstValue) setting2=$(SecondValue) setting3=list;of;values;delimited;by;semicolons setting4=bla bla bla ; ----------- & hopefully write it away to a new .ini file containing the following: ; ----------- [heading] setting1=value resolved by msbuild setting2=another value resolved by msbuild setting3=list;of;values;delimited;by;semicolons setting4=bla bla bla ; ----------- Only problem is that some files will contain semicolons. I can live without comments, but they're also used as part of values e.g. in lists. This is the result of using the WriteLinesToFile task. The semicolons are treated as escape characters & result in new lines, so the value of 'setting3' in the above example would be split over 6 lines. Is there a way around this without implementing my own task? Thanks in advance for the help!

• Delphi - OnKeyPress occurs before TStringGrid updates cell with new character

  Coding in Delphi, attaching an OnKeyPress event handler to a TStringGrid: The OnKeyPress event fires before the grid cell that the user is typing into has actually updated its value with the key that has been pressed. This is obviously a problem, when I want to know what the contents of that cell are at this moment, as in, as the user modifies it. The "hacked" solution is simple, if you're not considering every detail: just grab the value from the cell and, since the OnKeyPress event comes along with a Key parameter, append that value to the end - now you have the current value of the cell! False. What if the user has selected all the text in the cell (ie: "foo") and they are now typing 'b'. Since they selected the text, it will be erased and replaced with the letter 'b'. However, the value of the cell will still display as "foo" in OnKeyPress, and the value of Key will be 'b', so the above logic would lead the application to conclude that the cell now contains "foob", which we know is not true. So. Does anybody know how to get around this problem? Is there a way to make OnKeyPress react after the grid's contents have been updated, or perhaps a way to force an update at the start of the handler? I am desperately avoiding the use of the OnKeyUp event here, so any suggestions aside from that would be greatly appreciated.

  Using JW Player ver 5.4 and JW Embedder. Plugins are grid by Dabbler and fbit (Facebook). The Bitrate switching is not working. Does work fine for one video with HTML5 Video tag. When more than one video, it only shows the first video pic. Works fine with no bitrate switching. My need is that given a member variable, I need to know all possible enumeration values. Basically I need a function which takes an instance of one of these enums and returns a list of strings which are all the possible values. When I have an instance, running: print type(foo.enumInstance) I get: <class 'suds.sax.text.Text'> I'm not sure how to get the actual simpleType name from this, and then get the possible values from that short of parsing the WSDL myself.

• How best to embed multiple Flash Player instances using swfobject via a usercontrol?

  I have a ListView on a Page within a MasterPage and some very ugly ugly autogenerated IDs. Such as..."ctl00_workbenchPlaceHolder_ListView1_ctrl1_LibItem2One" Using swfobject.embedSWF(...) requires me to hand over the id of a div on my page that can be replaced with object/embed markup depending on the browser context. My aim is to show the user a collection of video's they have uploaded to their website so they can review them and change some related data if desired. Hence the ListView which is populated via a SQLDataSource which currently provides a number of URLs pointing to .flv files. But it ain't gonna work if I put a <div id="replaceme"></div>' in my user control because I may then have more than one id="replaceme" and poor swfobject won't like it. So my evil solution is to put an <asp:Literal> in my usercontrol and build the script, function name and div tag id as a string. • How can I store HTML in a Doctrine YML fixture

  I am working with a CMS-type site in Symfony 1.4 (Doctrine 1.2) and one of the things that is frustrating me is not being able to store HTML pages in YML fixtures. Instead I have to create SQL backups of the data if I want to drop and rebuild which is a bit of a pest when Symfony/Doctrine has a fantastic mechanism for doing exactly this. I could write a mechanism that reads in a set of HTML files for each page and fills the data in that way (or even write it as a task). But before I go down that road I am wondering if there is any way for HTML to be stored in a YML fixture so that Doctrine can simply import it into the database. Update: I have tried using symfony doctrine:data-dump and symfony doctrine:data-load however despite the dump correctly creating the fixture with the HTML, the load task appears to 'skip' the value of the column with the HTML and enters everything else into the row. In the database the field doesn't show up as 'NULL' but rather empty so I believe Doctrine is adding the value of the column as ''. Below is a sample of the YML fixture that symfony doctrine:data-dump created. I have tried running symfony doctrine:data-load against various forms of this including removing all the escaped characters (new lines and quotes leaving only angle brackets) but it still doesn't work. • Excel VBA Userform Combobox problem

  I'm having difficulties with a Combobox in a userform in an Excel document. The combobox either doesn't appear in the userform, or the combobox remains blank, and when I enter any character in it, the list of items appears, but 2 or 3 times, instead of just once. When I select an item, the chosen item doesn't appear in the box. It seems as if Excel^picks one at random, and whichever item I choose from the list, it's always the same one that ends up being displayed in the box. Can anyone help me on this one? Thanks a lot!!!   This question comes after two days of testing and debugging, right after the shock I had seeing that none of the websites i build using ajax-based login work in IE<8 The most simplified scenario si this: 1. mypage.php : session_start(); $_SESSION['mytest'] = 'x'; <script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.3.2/jquery.min.js"> </script> <script type="text/javascript"> function loadit() { $.post('http://www.mysite.com/myajax.php', {action: 'test'}, function(result){alert(result);}, 'html'); } </script> <a href="javascript:void(0);" onclick="loadit(); return false;">test link</a> 2. myajax.php session_start(); print_r($_SESSION); print session_id(); When I click the "test link", the ajax call is made and the result is alert()-ed: IE6: weird bullet-character (&bull;) IE7: Array( ) <session_id> IE8/FF (Expected behaviour): Array( [mytest] => 'x' ) <session_id> I would really appreciate some pointers regarding: 1. why this happens 2. how to fix it Thank you.

  I have a page that uses jQuery with a small glitch.   Hi all, I've been working on some code in js/html and it works great. I'm now trying to package it into an add-on for Firefox, and having some issues getting the XUL document correct. PLAIN OLD HTML/JS In my html test file between the <head></head> I have: <script type="text/javascript" src="js/MyCode.js"></script> At the end of the test file before the </body> I have: <script type="text/javascript">MyCode.Static.Init();</script> FIREFOX ADD-ON: OVERLAY.XUL In an overlay.xul file in the extension package I have : <?xml version="1.0"?> <overlay id="mycode" xmlns="http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"> <script type="application/x-javascript" src="chrome://mycode/content/MyCode.js"></script> <script> window.addEventListener("load", function () { gBrowser.addEventListener("load",MyCode.Static.Init,true); }, false); </script> </overlay> This does not seem to enter the method, but then again I'm not even sure if I've got the listeners firing properly. Would this be the correct way to duplicate what I was doing in plain old html/js ?

  I've a simple UpdatePanel and a button outside of it. I've introduced the button as an AsyncPostBackTrigger in the UpdatePanel. UpdatePanel itself works fine but the button does not. Whenever the button is clicked, its click handler does not run just like the button is not clicked at all! Why the button is not working and how can it be fixed?
