Hi! Im using NSXMLParser to dissect a xml package, I'm receiving &apos inside the package text. I have the following defined for the xmlParser: [xmlParser setShouldResolveExternalEntities: YES]; The following method is never called - (void)parser:(NSXMLParser *)parser foundExternalEntityDeclarationWithName:(NSString *)entityName publicID:(NSString *)publicID systemID:(NSString *)systemID The text in the field before the &apos is not considered by the parser. Im searching how to solve this, any idea??? Android Home Screen Widget Failing with EditText

Whenever I add an EditText widget to the layout of my home screen widget (confusing how the term "widget" is being used twice in the Android lexicon :-/ ), I receive the "Problem Loading Widget" error box. Can't call animated png script from external js file

Hello, I'm trying to put an animated PNG dinamicaly from external .js file. First I found a simple animated png solution, which draws an animation wherever you put the code within tags, but now it looks like I don't know how to call the function properly from external file. It was working fine for last 3 months but a week before it behaved unexpectedly. The problem is that it sends irrelevant results. The @String contains user alert keyword and it matches to the latest articles using Full text search. The normal execution time is 3 minutes but its execution time is 3 days (in problem). Now the current status is its working fine but we are unable to find any reason why it sent irrelevant results. Note: I am already removing noise words from user alert keyword. I am using SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition.

When the right column's content is longer than then the main content, the main content centers rather than start at the top despite I defining it in a style not to do so. jQuery problem with change event and IE8

There is a bug in jQuery 1.4.2 that makes change event on select-element getting fired twice when using both DOM-event and a jQuery event, and this only on IE7/8. Using hash tables in racket

Im working on an Ngrams program and im having trouble filling out my hash table. i want to write out a recursive function that will take the words and add them to the hash table. The way its supposed to work is given the data set 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 the first entry in the hash table should have a key of [1 2] and the data should be 3. The second entry should be: [2 3] and its data should be 4 and continuing on until the end of the text file. we are given a predefined function called readword that will simply return 1 word from the text. But im not sure how to make these calls overlap each other. The calls would look something like this if the data was hard coded in. (hash-set! (list "1" "2") 3 (hash-set! (list "2" "3") 4 2 calls that ive tried look like this (hash-set! Ngram-table(list((word1) (word2)) readword in))) (hash-set! Ngram-table(append((cdr data) word1)) readword in) apparently the in after readword is supposed to tell the computer that this is and input instead of an output or something like that. How would I call this to make the data in the key of the hashtable overlap like this? And what would the recursive call look like? edit: also we are not allowed to use assigment statements in this program.

style problem with jQueryUI Autocomplete widget (using remote datasource)

<input class="ui-autocomplete-input"/> represents the text field to be autocompleted. <ul>...</ul> contains the list of matching items from the text field input. It is added to the document by remote call as you type. <ul>...</ul> is added just inside the closing </body> tag. I was expecting the <ul>...</ul> to be placed just after the <input class="ui-autocomplete-input"/>. Because this does not happen, the <ul>...</ul> falls outside of the containing div and the resulting style is broken. Suggestions? Can I specify where the <ul>...</ul> gets placed in the document? Java File IO Compendium

I've worked in and around Java for nigh on a decade, but have managed to ever avoid doing serious work with files. Mostly I've written database driven applications, but occasionally, even those require some file io. Since I do it so rarely, I end up googling around for quite some time to figure out the exact incantation that Java requires to read a file into a byte[], char[], String or whatever I need at the time. For a 'once and for all' list, I'd like to see all of the usual ways to get data from a file into Java, or vice versa. There will be a fair bit of overlap, but the point is to define all of the subtle different variants that are out there. For example: Read/Write a text file from/to a single String. Read a text file line by line. Read/Write a binary file from/to a single byte[]. Read a binary file into a byte[] of size x, one chunk at a time. The goal is to show concise ways to do each of these. Samples do not need to handle missing files or other errors, as that is generally domain specific. Feel free to suggest more IO tasks that are somewhat common and I have neglected to mention.

Hello all, After my 1st question with relation to CSS3 gradients in which I was recreating an 'inner glow' I've now got to the point where I'm not so happy with the way in which webkit renders the effect. However, in Firefox, you should be able to see what I'm after. If you're in Internet Explorer, woe betide you. Does anyone know of a technique which will allow me to produce the 'correct' effect? Is there a CSS Property which I've missed that tells webkit to only have the background within the border-radius'd part of the containing box. I could potentially use an image, but I'm really trying to avoid it. Naturally, as we're dealing with CSS3 and the landscape is continually changing, I might just have to 'lump' it and revert to an image. However, if anyone can suggest an alternative I would be very much appreciative!

GMail appearing to ignore Reply-To.

I'm using a gmail account to send emails from my website. I'm using the same account to pick up emails which are generated by the contact facility on my site. I'm using the Reply-To field to attempt to make it easier to hit reply and easily get back to people. The message comes up with the 'from' address and ignores the 'reply-to' address. Rails: Create method available in all views and all models

I'd like to define a method that is available in both my views and my models Say I have a view helper: def foo(s) "hello #{s}" end A view might use the helper like this: <div class="data"><%= foo(@user.name) %></div> However, this <div> will be updated with a repeating ajax call. I'm using a to_json call in a controller returns data like so: render :text => @item.to_json(:only => [...], :methods => [:foo]) This means, that I have to have foo defined in my Item model as well: class Item def foo "hello #{name}" end end It'd be nice if I could have a DRY method that could be shared in both my views and my models. CSS Menu disappear

Hi, I created a menu in html/css but where I wanted the subitems to be shown on parent item hover. The problem is when I hover on it in IE it only shows it's subitems when I hover on the text in the menu item, If I hover over the element and not the text the subitems disappear again. So if I hover and want to move my mouse to my submenu the submenu disappears unless I'm fast enough. This is very annoying, does anyone know how I can solve this? Why can't I fade out this table row in IE using jQuery?

I can't get the table row to fade out in IE. It works in Chrome, but not IE. It just becomes really 'light' and stays on the screen. How to implement a python REPL that nicely handles asynchronous output?

I have a Python-based app that can accept a few commands in a simple read-eval-print-loop. I'm using raw_input('> ') to get the input. On Unix-based systems, I also import readline to make things behave a little better. All this is working fine. The problem is that there are asynchronous events coming in, and I'd like to print output as soon as they happen. Unfortunately, this makes things look ugly. The " " string doesn't show up again after the output, and if the user is halfway through typing something, it chops their text in half. It should probably redraw the user's text-in-progress after printing something. This seems like it must be a solved problem. What's the proper way to do this? Also note that some of my users are Windows-based. TIA Edit: The accepted answer works under Unixy platforms (when the readline module is available), but if anyone knows how to make this work under Windows, it would be much appreciated!

Use jQuery to get values of dropdownlists in an html table column for each row

Hi All, I have a requirement to build a simple html table of memos. The table consists of n-rows each with 2 columns: (1) a dropdownlist of types of memos and (2) the text of a memo - a textbox. I have successfully implemented jQuery to allow the user to Add a new row. That entails the selecting of a type of memo and then typing something into the textbox. I've also implemented jQuery to allow the user to mark a memo row for deletion. This is a partial view and the Save is handled by a container page. Requirements stipulate that there can be only one type of memo in the table. What I would like to be able to do is this: When the user clicks the Add button to add a new row (after having selected the memo type and entered some text into the textbox) I want the code to first examine each row in the table getting the value for each memo type dropdownlist. If the newly entered dropdownlist value is the same as one previously entered, I want to abort the add row process. Requirements also stipulate that all dropdownlists remain enabled to allow the user to change the memo type at any time. Similarly, I would like to be able to scan the table checking to see if that same memo type has already been entered. What would the jQuery look like for this kind of validation? Thanks! Arnold
