  • Greasemonkey,jquery and elements from links to new link

    - by Bulfen
    Hi all, I'm pretty new to jquery and greasemonkey. So if someone could help me out it would be great. Here is an example url I get values from. Org: http://www.example.com/index.php?value1=blabla1&sid=blabla2&mid=blabla3 Result I want: link://www.example.com/blabla1/data/blabla2/blabla3.ext example: var sid=document.URL.substring(document.URL.indexOf('sid=')+15); // How do I set the lenght of blabla2 ? -7 ? Anyway, Hopefully someone understand what I mean and can help me out alittle.

  • How does the dataset designer determine the return type of a scalar query?

    - by Tobias Funke
    I am attempting to add a scalar query to a dataset. The query is pretty straight forward, it's just adding up some decimal values in a few columns and returning them. I am 100% confident that only one row and one column is returned, and that it is of decimal type (SQL money type). The problem is that for some reason, the generated method (in the .designer.cs code file) is returning a value of type object, when it should be decimal. What's strange is that there's another scalar query that has the exact same SQL but is returning decimal like it should. How does the dataset designer determine the data type, and how can I tell it to return decimal?

  • C# equivalent of recv?

    - by mlh
    Hello, I have a portion of C code that I am trying to port over to C#. In my C code, I create a socket and then issue a receive command. The receive command is void receive(mysocket, char * command_buffer) { recv(mysocket, command_buffer, COMMAND_BUFFER_SIZE, 0); } now, the command buffer is returned with new values including command_buffer[8] being a pointer to a string. I'm really confused as to how to do this in C# because C# Read() command specifically takes in bytes and not char. The important part is that I get the pointer to the string. Any ideas?

  • best method in jquery for replacing rows in a table after server side processing such as mysql sorti

    - by Kevin J
    What is the 'best practice' when returning dynamic data for a table (server side sorting, filtering etc from a db) ? Do you return just the data in json, and repeatedly clone a row element, replacing the values in each row (thus decreasing the size of the ajax call, but increasing the client side processing), or return the full html, and replace with .html or .append? Or is there another method I'm missing? This is a frequent situation in my app, and in some cases a bottleneck, and I am unsure if what I am doing is the best solution. Currently, I return the row html and use a single .append call, after emptying all the rows except the header.

  • Help with implementing a function to change size of dynamic array

    - by iRobot
    I'm trying to write a function that will change the size of a dynamic array to a new size. In my header file, I have: Image **images; //pointer to a dynamic array of image pointers int maximum; //size I want to do this by allocating a new array and copying the values over without changing their indices. If there are non-null pointers outside the range newmax, then we cant do this. So heres what I have: There are no compilation or runtime errors. However, I find that the new array isnt getting sized right. When I run the following test case: I should get an index out of bounds error, but instead the system lets it slide. Can anyone see the mistake? I've looked for hours but cant find anything.

  • Can I use breakpoints (as while debugging) while 'unit testing' ?

    - by Richard77
    Hello, I'm walking through the FrontStore series tutorial on TDD in MVC (Part 3 by Rob Conery/ASP.NET). The test I'm concerned with is the CatalogRepository_Each_Category_Contains_5_Products(). Until I get to that test, everything was working fine. Now, I've gone through every line that makes this test (including the test itself, the TestCatalogRepository, ...). I've also compared my code to that of Rob, but the test keeps failing. I also checked the source code from CodePlex, that test was not there. Now, I wonder if I can put a break point somewhere to check the local values as the test is being executed? If not, something similar? Thanks for helping.

  • Java Map question

    - by user552961
    I have one Map that contains some names and numbers Map<String,Integer> abc = new TreeMap<String,Integer>(); It works fine. I can put some values in it but when I call it in different class it gives me wrong order. For example: I putted abc.put("a",1); abc.put("b",5); abc.put("c",3); some time it returns the order (b,a,c) and some time (a,c,b). What is wrong with it? Is there any step that I am missing when I call this map?

  • Easiest way to merge two List<T>s

    - by Chris McCall
    I've got two List<Name>s: public class Name { public string NameText {get;set;} public Gender Gender { get; set; } } public class Gender { public decimal MaleFrequency { get; set; } public decimal MaleCumulativeFrequency { get; set; } public decimal FemaleCumulativeFrequency { get; set; } public decimal FemaleFrequency { get; set; } } If the NameText property matches, I'd like to take the FemaleFrequency and FemaleCumulativeFrequency from the list of female Names and the MaleFrequency and MaleCumulativeFrequency values from the list of male Names and create one list of Names with all four properties populated. What's the easiest way to go about this in C# using .Net 3.5?

  • Can MySQL automatically specify `_utf8` for inserts to UTF-8 columns?

    - by Neil
    I have a table like this, where one column is latin1, the other is UTF-8: Create Table: CREATE TABLE `names` ( `name_english` varchar(255) character NOT NULL, `name_chinese` varchar(255) character set utf8 default NULL, ) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 When I do an insert, I have to type _utf8 before values being inserted into UTF-8 columns: insert into names (name_english = "hooey", name_chinese = _utf8 "??"); However, since MySQL should know that name_chinese is a UTF-8 column, it should be able to know to use _utf8 automatically. Is there any way to tell MySQL to use _utf8 automatically, so when I'm programatically making prepared statements, I don't have to worry about including it with the right parameters?

  • Oracle Reports SELECT INTO Not Selecting

    - by Kevin Cruz
    I'm working on a Report in Oracle Reports Builder, and having issues with my AFTERPFORM trigger. When viewing the report, it seems like the year is being processed properly, while the period and subperiod are using their initial values. I'm confused because they are the exact same select statement, but are not working as intended. Any help would be greatly appreciated! function AfterPForm return boolean is v_subpdenddt_user date; v_subpdenddt_max date; v_rowcount integer; begin select value into year from wos_report_param where parameter = 'year' and sequence_num = :sequencenum; select value into period from wos_report_param where parameter = 'period' and sequence_num = :sequencenum; select value into user_subpd from wos_report_param where parameter = 'subpd' and sequence_num = :sequencenum;

  • AJAX Panel not throwing exceptions

    - by Grant
    Hi, i have just noticed something strange in some asp.net markup. I have a standard form with a couple of textboxes and a submit button. When clicked the code behind will attempt to perform some logic and then return. If the input values are not valid it used to throw an exception. The moment i wrapped the controls in an AJAX update panel and try to submit bad data, no exception is thrown and the panel returns like nothing was wrong. Does anyone know how to return this to the previous behavior whilst keeping the update panel?

  • Ruby on Rails - can't access datetime model object

    - by NomadicRiley
    I've created a model that has 3 string columns and a datetime. Everything is running in SQLite3 and I can view the records in my table just fine using Lita. I'm trying to display the values in a page (index action) using code like this: <% @details.each do |lifeCycle| % <%= debug(lifeCycle)% <%= lifeCycle.lifeCycleId % <%= lifeCycle.eventType % <%= debug(lifeCycle.timeId) % <% end % From the debug I get a result like this: --- !ruby/object:LifeCycle attributes: eventType: Order created_at: "2111359287.23037" timeId: "2455364.89983796" eventId: "98765" updated_at: "2111359287.23037" lifeCycleId: "12345" id: "1" attributes_cache: {} But whenever I try to access the event timeId - i' getting a nil value. This is true if i try to run debug on just that field debug(lifeCycle.timeId), or call a function on it. Is there something obvious I'm missing here?

    The function is supposed to update the values in the database. Here is the code: //Functions //Function to Update users networth function update_net($name) { //Get worth & balance at the time $sql_to_get_worth_balance = "SELECT * FROM user WHERE username = '$name'"; $sql_query = mysql_query($sql_to_get_worth_balance); while ($rows = mysql_fetch_assoc($sql_query)) { $worth = $rows['worth']; $balance_ = $rows['cash_balance']; } //Get net_worth now $new_net_worth = $worth + $balance; //Update net_worth $sql_for_new_worth = "UPDATE user SET net_worth = '$new_net_worth'"; $sql_worth_query = mysql_query($sql_worth); } It is used here: //Get username $username = $_SESSION['username']; if (isset($username)) { //Update networth $update_worth = update_net($username);

  • Getting id of row just inserted into MySQL database

    - by James P
    I have my table columns set like this: likes(id, like_message, timestamp) id is the primary key that is auto incrementing. This is the SQL that I use to add a row: $sql = "INSERT INTO `likes` (like_message, timestamp) VALUES ('$likeMsg', $timeStamp)"; Everything works, but now I need to throw back the id attribute of the newly inserted row. For example, if I insert a row and the id of that row is 13, I need to echo out 13 so my AJAX request can pick that up and use it. Any help would be appreciated, as well as related code samples. Thanks :)

  • Junit | How to test parameters in a method

    - by MMRUser
    How do I test parameters inside a method itself. For example class TestClass { public void paraMethod(String para1, String para2) { String testPara1 = para1; String testPara2 = para2; } } class TestingClass { @Test public void testParaMethod () throws Exception { String myPara1 = "MyPara1"; String myPara2 = "MyPara2"; new TestClass().paraMethod(myPara1, myPara2); } } Ok, so is it possible to test if the testPara1 and testPara2 are properly set to the values that I have passed? Thanks.

  • Group Objects by Common Key

    - by Marshmellow1328
    I have a list of Customers. Each customer has an address and some customers may actually have the same address. My ultimate goal is to group customers based on their address. I figure I could either put the customers in some sort of list-based structure and sort on the addresses, or I could drop the objects into some sort of map that allows multiple values per key. I will now make a pretty picture: List: A1 - C1, A1 - C2, A2 - C3, A3 - C4, A3 - C5 Map: A1 A2 A3 C1 C3 C4 C2 C5 Which option (or any others) do you see as the best solution? Are there any existing classes that will make development easier?

  • Best use of Jquery sliders and PHP

    - by Coronier
    Hello there, I have two questions: What's the best way to send sliders' values to a PHP page ? I'm associating each slider (several per page) with an hidden form so far, but I wonder if there's a "cleaner" way to do this. Related to the 1st question; I've some trouble with the script: var score = $(this).slider( "option", "value" ); $(this).closest("input[type=='hidden']").val(score); It doesn't set the value of the hidden input. Can somebody tells me what's wrong ? Thanks

  • Creating methods with infinite overloads ? (.NET)

    - by MarceloRamires
    In C# you can do this: foo = string.Format("{0} {1} {2} {3} ...", "aa", "bb", "cc" ...); This method Format() accepts infinite parameters, being the first one how the string should be formatted and the rest are values to be put in the string. Today I've come to a situation where I had to get a set of strings and test them, then I remembered this language functionality, but I had no clue. After a few unsuccessful web searches, I've realised it would be more prudent to just get an array, which didn't make me quite satisfied. Q: How do I make a function that accepts infinite parameters? And how do I use it ?
