    Hello All, The problem I am facing with below code is that whenever I try to select any option from the select box, the mouseout event executed (in IE, Mozilla doing gr8) and option disappear.   • Sending JSON(jQuery) to PHP and decoding it

    I can't for the life of me figure out what I'm doing wrong. It seems like it should be simple because I can't find anyone else with this issue but I can't figure out to send basic data via javascript(jQuery) to PHP and decode it. For the sake of simplicity, this is what I have: JAVASCRIPT var json_data = { "name" : "john doe" }; $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "../bin/process.php", dataType: "json", data: json_data }); and my PHP FILE $arr = json_decode("json_data", true); $fp = fopen('data.txt', "w"); fwrite($fp, $arr['name']); fclose($fp); The file I'm writing ends up with nothing in it. If I do an: fwrite($fp, 'test'); I get a file with the word test in it but no matter what I do I don't get the json data I sent. Can someone please share a thorough example of A to Z. Thanks for any help.

My server controller function render a json object as response: class DaysController < BaseController ... def the_days ... render :json => days end end In my javascript,I use the following code to get json response from server( that's from the_day function in controller) $.getJSON( url, {emp_id: emp_id}, function(data) { var result = data.response; alert(result) alert(data) }, "json" ); I use firefox browswer and checked with Firebug, in Firebug Net-XHR, I see the Get request is successful, and the response "days" is there. That's both request and response are successful. But I did not see the two alert window defined in the above $.getJSON function, why? Why I can not get the response "days" in $.getJSON function??

    I'm using the following code to make cross domain request using $.getJSON, request completed but with errors, I cannot exactly detect what is the thrown error.     In "traditional" ASP.NET (Web Forms), the UpdatePanel control lets you do a partial refresh of a part of a page. You don't need to write much code to hook this up. What's the equivalent in ASP.NET MVC? I'm guessing I'd need to use a partial view for the bit that I want to update, then on the client side retrieve that HTML and pump it into the innerHtml of the correct DIV? A tutorial/example would be helpful...

  • Set Focus After Last Character in Text Box

    I have 3 text boxes for a phone number. As the user types, it automatically moves from one textbox to the next. When the user presses backspace, I can move focus to the previous text box. The problem is that in IE, focus is set to the beginning of the text box.   • Radio buttons being reset in FF on cache-refresh

    (This is technically an addendum to an earlier StackOverflow question I had posted, but my original post asked a different question which doesn't really cover this topic -- I don't want to edit my older question as I feel this is different enough to merit its own page) While browsing my website in Firefox 3.5 (and only FF3.5), I come across a page with two radio buttons that have the following HTML code: <input id="check1" type="radio" value="True" name="check" checked="checked"/> <input id="check2" type="radio" value="False" name="check"/> This page renders as expected, with 'check1' checked and 'check2' unchecked. When I then go to refresh the page by pressing Control + R, the two radio buttons render, but they are both unchecked even though the raw HTML code is the same (as above). If I do a cache-miss refresh (via Control + F5 or Control + Shift + R), the page returns back to the way you'd expect it. This is not a problem in any other browser I've tried except FF3.5. What is causing these radio buttons to be reset on a normal refresh? How can I avoid this?

    I'd like to duplicate the find feature (Ctrl-F in Firefox) for my users. In other words, a text box that as the user types, it finds the first occurrence of that text, and if they press "Next", it highlights the next occurrence and moves the page if necessary. I'm thinking the search input would have to be in a div that remained fixed, and as it found what it was looking for, would insert a named anchor just before it and then follow the hyperlink. Do you think this can be done?

    I have a current web build with a right sidebar that is a fixed position. I have tried to positioning from the right but don't want it overlapping other divs content. What I am looking for is to have the content scrollable horizontally to the right when it is out of the viewport window. Any help would be greatly appreciated. similarly to this: http://demo.rickyh.co.uk/css-position-x-and-position-y/ however I can not get this working. This has been solved by alternative method.     I am sanitizing an input field and manually getting and setting the caret position in the process. With some abstraction, here's the basic idea: <input type="text" onkeyup"check(this)"> And javascript... function check(element) { var charPosition = getCaretPosition(element); $(element).val( sanitize( $(element).val() ) ); setCaretPosition(element, charPosition); } function sanitize(s) { return s.replace(/[^a-zA-Z0-9\s]/g, ''); } This is working fine except when a character does actually get sanitized, my caret position is off by one. Basically I'd like a way to see if the sanitize function has actually replaced a character (and at what index) so then I can adjust the charPosition if necessary. Any ideas?
