    I am using PHP open source and I need the map of a country highlighting all the states in different colors. Once a particular state is hovered over, some info about the state needs to appear.   • PHP / javascript live chat using too much bandwidth

    So I am learning about javascript, so I am making a live chat system with PHP and javascript. I have it so the javascript refreshes the log (each message gets logged in a file on the server), and it refreshes every second. Im using firebug to monitor the resource usage, and I see under the net tab each times its updated, and the bytes add up really fast. I know I can change it to update less, but is there a way that when a user on the other end I'm talking to, when the send a message, it gets sent to the server, then an alert gets sent to me saying that the chatlog needs to update somehow. That way it only updates when the log is updated. let me know, thanks

    I have added the nivoslider and prettyphoto lightbox to a page. What I am trying to do: when you click one of the nivoslider images, prettyphoto should load a video. Everything works ok, except that whenever the nivo slider is sliding the images, the video in prettyphoto lightbox is reloading. How can I prevent the video from reloading once the sliding images are changing?   • Prevent click event on the clicked element?

    I have a click event on the body of my document: $("body").on('click.findElem', function(e) { e.stopPropagation(); e.preventDefault(); self.hinter(e.target); return false; }); It basically catches the clicked target and does something to it. However, there are some targets that already have a click event on them, and they prevent my click from being executed at all. How do I overcome that issue? I tried unbinding it, but the click doesn't even work at all to actually execute the unbinding.

I found 1 way which some ppl on net says works for them and it is giving me strange problem. if you see the image, when i use the function fnGetPosition, it just cross out.. i don't know why other users over net have no issue on it..     I'm trying to replace all mentions of [b] in a text string and replace it with <b>. The problem with what I'm using below this that it's replace every [b] on the page, and I only want it to change the [b]'s within the text string ("text") that I'm sending in. Taking out the 'g' for global in the regex doesn't work very well because it then doesn't replace them all... text = text.replace(new RegExp('(^|\\s|>)\\[b](\\S.*?\\S)\\[/b]($|\\s|<)', 'gim') , '$1<strong>$2</strong>$3'); any ideas?   • Livevalidation: only validate when default value is changed

    Hello there! I am validating my html form with livevalidation and everything works great except for one feature. I have a input field with a default value age, I only want the livevalidation to validate when it says something other than "age". so maybe the user will type in 20 then the validation will fire checking its things but if left as "age" it won't check it all. But as of now, it just checks everything with a validation script and this is a problem for me as I have lots of fields in my form and some of them are optional so when I hit submit, the livevalidation checks the age field as well even if the user didnt touch it to begin with. Would this be possible with livevalidation ? Thanks for the help.

It certainly loads the right amount of items as it says in the lower bar on safari but I see three small calendars and that is it. Can anyone see where I have made a mistake?

So What I really need is a very good tutorial on how to implement the Load More function on Safari for iPhone just like the Twitter website(mobile.twitter.com) does. Just a wordpress plugin won't really help. But if the plugin is well explained, like if it is wptouch, home(that also has this function) that can also do. I know that it doesn't really matter that it is being displayed on a mobile device, but the point I am stressing is that if such a function is well explained, then it will be up to me to know how to customize it to suit me. I am using a javascript function to load entries that come from the database dynamically, so that content opens in the same page (like with twitter(tweets feed) and facebook(news feed)).
