• Javascript does not work on IIS

  I have a .NET library executing as part of our website that renders HTML to image formats. It uses the IE rendering engine, and will happily run any javascript if present to do the rendering. The problem is we just moved the code to a new server, and javascript seems to be disabled. I tried changing (briefly the Application Pools Process Model Identity from NetworkService to LocalSystem, and that worked fine. Hence it must be a permissions problem. So my questions are this: 1) What is the specific permission I need to set to allow the IE rendering engine to execute javascript, inside the IIS application pool? 2) What is the best way to enable that in my application pool? Do I just somehow set it in NetworkService, or create a new identify (how is that done?) Thanks!

• Setting pixel color of BMP/JPG file in C#.

  Hi guys, I'm trying to set a color of given pixel of the image. Here is the code snippet Bitmap myBitmap = new Bitmap(@"c:\file.bmp"); for (int Xcount = 0; Xcount < myBitmap.Width; Xcount++) { for (int Ycount = 0; Ycount < myBitmap.Height; Ycount++) { myBitmap.SetPixel(Xcount, Ycount, Color.Black); } } Every time I get the following exception: Unhandled Exception: System.InvalidOperationException: SetPixel is not supported for images with indexed pixel formats. • DebuggerDisplay attribute does not work as expected!

  Dear ladies and sirs. I know that this attribute should work in C# and yet, in my case it does not. I have a class with a lazy property Children. Accessing this property may have a side effect of roundtripping to the server. So, naturally, I do not want this to happen when I just watch it in the debugger watch window. Omitting all the irrelevant details the source looks pretty ordinary: [DebuggerDisplay("(Frozen) {m_children}")] public IList<IEntityBase> Children { get { if (m_children == null) { m_children = FetchChildrenFromDB(this); } return m_children; } } And yet, when I watch the object and expand this in the watch window I do not see (Frozen) in the display, meaning the debugger simply ignores the attribute. Provided the image link is still valid it should be visible below: http://i28.tinypic.com/2zxo9s5.jpg The attribute is really there, according to Reflector. I use VS2008. Any ideas?

• Creating a standard card game (iPhone SDK)

  I am trying to create a card game with a standard deck of cards. I need to be able to create a new card on screen every time someone draws a card from the deck and then be able to continuously move it throughout gameplay. I have image files for every card available in the game. I have tried creating a card object which held a UIImageView for the card along with some other basic data but I had trouble referring back to that card to move it again after the first touch. Was this the right way to do this?

  i have customised oscommerce to pull in a csv file of products, delete anything thats not with an image/proper description/proper title gets removed. The import runs on a cron job basis pulling information from a supplier, it hasnt run since yesterday but a product has disappeared- Anyone who has used oscommerce will know that, product information is stored over multiple tables. example is- products product_description and so on. the thing that has got me that the information is deleted from the product table but not from the product_description table. The product that is being deleted is a manually input one which carries a special tag/prefix on the model item of the product table. Therefore shouldn't be touched at all. Am clueles as what is going on. Is there mysql integrity checks deleting records? could there be another plugin working on oscommerce?

• How do I refer to a view controller in a subclass?

  Hey all, I'm currently teaching myself Objective C and I'm kind of stuck. I'm building a backgammon game and I have a subclass, "Piece", which is being initialized, repeatedly, in BackGammonViewController. In BackGammonViewController, if I do this: UIImage *myImage = [ UIImage imageNamed: @"white-piece.png" ]; UIImageView *myImageView = [ [ UIImageView alloc ] initWithImage: myImage ]; [self.view addSubview:myImageView]; [myImageView release]; The image appears. However, I want to do this within my "piece" class. How do I refer to the "self.view" from within the piece class? Do I need to pass a reference to the view, into the "piece class" ? Or is there a global reference I can call from within the "piece class" ? Thanks for your help.

• Python Daemon Subprocess not working at boot

  I am attempting to write a python daemon that will launch at boot. The goal of the script is to receive a job from our gearman load balancing server and complete the job. I am using the python-daemon module from pypi (http://pypi.python.org/pypi/python-daemon/). The nature of the job that it is completing is converting images in the orf (olympus raw image format) to jpeg. In order to accomplish this an outside program is used, ufraw in this case. The problem comes in when I start the daemon at boot, if I launch from the shell it runs perfectly and completes the work. When it starts at boot it is unable to launch the subprocess command. commandString = '/usr/bin/ufraw-batch --interpolation=four-color --wb=camera --compression=100 --output="' + outfile + '" --out-type=jpg --overwrite "' + infile + '"' args = shlex.split(commandString) process = subprocess.Popen(args).wait() I am not sure what I am doing wrong.   Hi, android is new for me. I am trying to develop a program on 1.5 platform but still in progress, plz guide me. I have some information in following format "item1","description1" "item2","description2" "item3","description3" "item4","description4" . . . . I want to show them on screen, I dont know which is recommended way to do this. After google I found 2 method. but I failed to successfully implement any of one. Method 1 I break both columns data into 2 different arrays, then populate listactivity with array of column 1, enable filter & on clicked event I want to raise alert which should show Text clicked in tilte & desc from 2nd array as msg body based on position.   Assuming we have a polygon coordinates as polygon = [(x1, y1), (x2, y2), ...], the following code displays the polygon: import matplotlib.pyplot as plt plt.fill(*zip(*polygon)) plt.show() By default it is trying to adjust the aspect ratio so that the polygon (or whatever other diagram) fits inside the window, and automatically changing it so that it fits even after resizing. Which is great in many cases, except when you are trying to estimate visually if the image is distorted. How to fix the aspect ratio to be strictly 1:1? (Not sure if "aspect ratio" is the right term here, so in case it is not - I need both X and Y axes to have 1:1 scale, so that (0, 1) on both X and Y takes an exact same amount of screen space. And I need to keep it 1:1 no matter how I resize the window.)

• Php template caching design

  Hello to all, I want to include caching in my app design. Caching templates for starters. The design I have used so far is very modular. I have created an ORM implementation for all my tables and each table is represented by the corresponding class. All the requests are handled by one controller which routes them to the appropriate webmethod functions. I am using a template class for handling UI parts. What I have in mind for caching includes the implementation of a separate Cache class for handling caching with the flexibility to either store in files, apc or memcache. Right now I am testing with file caching. Some thoughts Should I include the logic of checking for cached versions in the Template class or in the webmethods which handle the incoming requests and which eventually call the Template class. In the first case, things are pretty simple as I will not have to change anything more than pass the template class an extra argument (whether to load from cache or not). In the second case however, I am thinking of checking for a cached version immediately in the webmethod and if found return it. This will save all the processing done until the logic reaches the template (first case senario). Both senarios however, rely on an accurate mechanism of invalidating caches, which brings as to Invalidating caches As I see it (and you can add your input freely) a template cached file, becomes invalidate if: a. the expiration set, is reached. b. the template file itself is updated (ie by the developer when adding a new line) c. the webmethod that handles the request changes (ie the developer adds/deletes something in the code) d. content coming from the db and ending in the template file is modified I am thinking of storing a json encoded array inside the cached file. The first value will be the expiration timestamp of the cache. The second value will be the modification time of the php file with the code handling the request (to cope with option c above) The third will be the content itself The validation process I am considering, according to the above senarios, is: a. If the expiration of the cached file (stored in the array) is reached, delete the cache file b. if the cached file's mod time is smaller than the template's skeleton file mod time, delete the cached file c. if the mod time of the php file is greated than the one stored in the cache, delete the cached file. d. This is tricky. In the ORM implementation I ahve added event handlers (which fire when adding, updating, deleting objects). I could delete the cache file every time an object thatprovides content to the template, is modified. The problem is how to keep track which cached files correpond to each schema object. Take this example, a user has his shortprofile page and a full profile page (2 templates) These templates can be cached. Now, every time the user modifies his profile, the event handler would need to know which templates or cached files correspond to the User, so that these files can be deleted. I could store them in the db but I am looking for a beter approach

• Expand and collapse a div

• Using EXR images in OpenCV

  Hi there! I'm currently working on a project with OpenEXR and I would like to implement some Blob detection algorithms. To do this I figured that I could use OpenCV as it says in the documentation that it can open OpenEXR format files. I have all the libraries installed and working as I've been doing other things. I open a simple jpg file with openCV cvLoadImage. It works fine. But when i try to open any .exr file it doesn't seam to like it. I get a gray window where there should be the image display. Has anyone done any tests with OpenCV and OpenEXR libraries working together? Have they worked for you? What do you think? Thanks.

• How to set parameters in Python zlib module

  I want to write a Python program that makes PNG files. My big problem is with generating the CRC and the data in the IDAT chunk. Python 2.6.4 does have a zlib module, but there are extra settings needed. The PNG specification REQUIRES the IDAT data to be compressed with zlib's deflate method with a window size of 32768 bytes, but I can't find how to set those parameters in the Python zlib module. As for the CRC for each chunk, the zlib module documentation indicates that it contains a CRC function. I believe that calling that CRC function as crc32(data,-1) will generate the CRC that I need, though if necessary I can translate the C code given in the PNG specification. Note that I can generate the rest of the PNG file and the data that is to be compressed for the IDAT chunk, I just don't know how to properly compress the image data for the IDAT chunk after implementing the initial filtering step.

• Web App fails when moved to production environment. Which server permissions do I need?

  I have developed a small web app. This app allows users to upload images. It also produces text files with the names of those images (the names are stored and retrieved to/from an MySQL Database.) I have developed this app using MAMP. To create the uploaded image files I use the PHP function imagejpeg('my/path/name.jpg') and to delete the files I use the PHP function unlink('folder1/folder2/name.jpg') to write to the text document I am using the function fopen('folder1/folder2/name.txt', 'w') all three of these functions produce errors related to permissions - now the site has been moved to a live hosting environment. Why is this? and what permissions do I need to set the folder's folder1 and folder2 to? I know that permission 777 is generally bad because it opens up your server to the public. However what I have found is that the functions fail to work unless I use 777 on the folders. Can anyone shed any light on my dilemma?
