  • MS SQL Index Scripting

    - by Fouad Masoud
    I'm using MS SQL 2008. Is it possible to create a script to loop over all tables in a database generating a set of index drop scripts and create scripts separately? What I have to do is drop all indexes on a set of databases to run a heavy data load process but then I want to re-enable all the indexes. I don't want to have to go through each table and script an index drop and then index create. Thanks!

  • How to handle both the KeyDown and KeyUp events in a Silverlight 3 TextBox

    - by sako73
    I am attaching handlers to the KeyDown and KeyUp events of a Silverlight 3 TextBox as so: _masterTextBox.KeyDown += (s, args) => { CheckForUserEnteredText(MasterTextBox.Text); args.Handled = false; }; _masterTextBox.KeyUp += (s, args) => { UpdateText(MasterTextBox.Text); }; When I comment out the KeyDown handler, then the KeyUp will trap the event, otherwise, only the KeyDown handler is triggered. Can someone explain why the KeyUp event handler is not firing after the KeyDown handler does? Thanks.

  • gem install of mongrel

  • ARMv6 FIQ, acknowledge interrupt

    - by fastmonkeywheels
    I'm working with an i.mx35 armv6 core processor. I have Interrupt 62 configured as a FIQ with my handler installed and being called. My handler at the moment just toggles an output pin so I can test latency with a scope. With the code below, once I trigger the FIQ it continues forever as fast as it can, apparently not being acknowledged. I'm triggering the FIQ by means of the Interrupt Force Register so I'm assured that the source isn't triggering it this fast. If I disable Interrupt 62 in the AVIC in my FIQ routine the interrupt only triggers once. I have read the sections on the VIC Port in the ARM1136JF-S and ARM1136J-S Technical Reference Manual and it covers proper exit procedure. I'm only having one FIQ handler so I have no need to branch. The line that I don't understand is: STR R0, [R8,#AckFinished] I'm not sure what AckFinished is supposed to be or what this command is supposed to do. My FIQ handler is below: ldr r9, IOMUX_ADDR12 ldr r8, [r9] orr r8, #0x08 @ top LED str r8,[r9] @turn on LED bic r8, #0x08 @ top LED str r8,[r9] @turn off LED subs pc, r14, #4 IOMUX_ADDR12: .word 0xFC2A4000 @remapped IOMUX addr My handler returns just fine and normal system operation resumes if I disable it after the first go, otherwise it triggers constantly and the system appears to hang. Do you think my assumption is right that the core isn't acknowledging the AVIC or could there be another cause of this FIQ triggering?

  • WPF and routed event

    - by user109534
    I have a WPF window, which has a button that is inside a stackPanel, which is inside another stackPanel I wrote an event handler for the button for the MouseDown event. I want to execute this eventHandler three times for the button and the parent (stack panel) and the parent's parent How can I achieve that with the routed event, by writing only one event handler? I don't want to repeat the event handler code. Thanks

  • Boiler plate code replacement - is there anything bad about this code?

    - by Benjol
    I've recently created these two (unrelated) methods to replace lots of boiler-plate code in my winforms application. As far as I can tell, they work ok, but I need some reassurance/advice on whether there are some problems I might be missing. (from memory) static class SafeInvoker { //Utility to avoid boiler-plate InvokeRequired code //Usage: SafeInvoker.Invoke(myCtrl, () => myCtrl.Enabled = false); public static void Invoke(Control ctrl, Action cmd) { if (ctrl.InvokeRequired) ctrl.BeginInvoke(new MethodInvoker(cmd)); else cmd(); } //Replaces OnMyEventRaised boiler-plate code //Usage: SafeInvoker.RaiseEvent(this, MyEventRaised) public static void RaiseEvent(object sender, EventHandler evnt) { var handler = evnt; if (handler != null) handler(sender, EventArgs.Empty); } } EDIT: See related question here UPDATE Following on from deadlock problems (related in this question), I have switched from Invoke to BeginInvoke (see an explanation here). Another Update Regarding the second snippet, I am increasingly inclined to use the 'empty delegate' pattern, which fixes this problem 'at source' by declaring the event directly with an empty handler, like so: event EventHandler MyEventRaised = delegate {};

  • setTimeout(fun) with a single argument

    - by Elazar Leibovich
    The HTML5 specifications states that setTimeout can be run without the additional "timeout" argument which is supposed to say after how many milliseconds will the function "handler" be scheduled. handle = window . setTimeout( handler [, timeout [, arguments ] ] ) Schedules a timeout to run handler after timeout milliseconds. Any arguments are passed straight through to the handler. However, I failed to find anywhere which explains what happens when no "timeout" time period is set. An example usage is, the animation implementation int the Raphael library. animationElements[length] && win.setTimeout(animation);

  • Why is IHttpAsyncHandler being called over IHttpHandler?

    - by Tim Hardy
    I made a custom handler that derives from MvcHandler. I have my routes using a custom RouteHandler that returns my new handler for GetHttpHandler(), and I override ProcessRequest() in my custom handler. The call to GetHttpHandler is triggering a breakpoint and my handler's constructor is definitely being called, but BeginProcessRequest() is being called on the base MvcHandler instead of ProcessRequest(). Why are the async methods being called when I haven't done anything to call them? I don't want asynchronous handling, and I certainly didn't do anything explicit to get it. My controllers all derive from Controller, not AsyncController. I don't have the source code with me right now, but I can add it later if needed. I was hoping someone might know some of the reasons why BeginProcessRequest might be called when it's not wanted.

  • VBA error handling and MZ-tools

    - by dmr
    Thanks to reading about error handling on StackOverflow, I discovered Mz-Tools. However, I am wondering if there is a way to simultaneously update all the error handlers added by MZ-Tools. If I add an error handler with MZ-Tools and then change the default error handler (via Options|Error Handler on the Mz-Tools toolbar), is there any way to have the changes automatically incorporated?

  • Parameterized SQL statements vs. very simple method

    - by Philipp G
    When I started to write the first SQL-Statements in my programs I felt quite comfortable with protecting myself against SQL-Injection with a very simple method that a colleague showed me. It replaced all single quotes with two single quotes. So for example there is a searchfield in which you can enter a customername to search in the customertable. If you would enter Peter's Barbershop The SELECT Statement would look like SELECT * FROM Customers WHERE Customername = 'Peter''s Barbershop' If now an attacker would insert this: ';DROP TABLE FOO; -- The statement would look like: SELECT * FROM Customers WHERE Customername = ''';DROP TABLE FOO;--' It would not drop any table, but search the customertable for the customername ';DROP TABLE FOO;-- which, I suppose, won't be found ;-) Now after a while of writing statements and protecting myself against SQL-Injection with this method, I read that many developers use parameterized statements, but I never read an article where "our" method was used. So definitely there is a good reason for it. What scenarios would parameterized statements cover but our method doesn't? What are the advantages of parameterized statements compared to our method? Thanks Philipp

  • CSS filters - sometimes working, sometimes not?

    - by a2h
    I'm on the verge of pulling my hair out over this. Here I have a block of perfectly functioning CSS: #admin .block.mode.off { opacity: 0.25; -ms-filter: "progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Alpha(opacity=25)"; filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Alpha(opacity=25); } Meanwhile... Internet Explorer 8 couldn't care less about my filter declarations here: #admin .drop .tabs { margin-bottom: 12px; } #admin .drop .tab { margin-right: 4px; } #admin .drop .tab.off { cursor: pointer; opacity: 0.5; -ms-filter: "progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Alpha(opacity=50)"; filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Alpha(opacity=50); } #admin .drop .tab.off:hover { text-shadow: 0px 0px 4px #fff; } #admin .drop .tab.on { cursor: default; text-shadow: 0px 0px 4px #fff; -ms-filter: "progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Glow(color=#fff, strength=4)"; filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Glow(color=#fff, strength=4); } My document shows in IE8 Standards, and I am assuming the developer tools are a load of tuna, because the functioning block shows up in its CSS tab as: filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Alpha(opacity=25); opacity: 0.25 Does anyone have any ideas?

  • Custom jQuery dropdown

    - by Coughlin
    I am creating a custom simple dropdown using jQuery that hides/shows a element based on over state. The problem I have now is that when you go over the shown element it hides, you cant move your mouse in to the dropdown that was created. Any thoughts on how to fix that also, is there an easier way to do what I have? I am going to be reusing this and not sure the best way to set the code up for I dont need to copy/paste six times. $(function(){ $("#dog-nav").hover( function(){ $(".sub-drop-box-dog").show("fast"); }, function(){ $(".sub-drop-box-dog").hide("fast"); } ); $("#cat-nav").hover( function(){ $(".sub-drop-box-cat").show("fast"); }, function(){ $(".sub-drop-box-cat").hide("fast"); } ); });

I need that it would be working, no matter what comes after "--drop". How i can implement that? Thanks

  • Android: restful API service

    - by Martyn
    Hey, I'm looking to make a service which I can use to make calls to a web based rest api. I've spent a couple of days looking through stackoverflow.com, reading books and looking at articles whilst playing about with some code and I can't get anything which I'm happy with. Basically I want to start a service on app init then I want to be able to ask that service to request a url and return the results. In the meantime I want to be able to display a progress window or something similar. I've created a service currently which uses IDL, I've read somewhere that you only really need this for cross app communication, so think these needs stripping out but unsure how to do callbacks without it. Also when I hit the post(Config.getURL("login"), values) the app seems to pause for a while (seems weird - thought the idea behind a service was that it runs on a different thread!) Currently I have a service with post and get http methods inside, a couple of AIDL files (for two way communication), a ServiceManager which deals with starting, stopping, binding etc to the service and I'm dynamically creating a Handler with specific code for the callbacks as needed. I don't want anyone to give me a complete code base to work on, but some pointers would be greatly appreciated; even if it's to say I'm doing it completely wrong. I'm pretty new to Android and Java dev so if there are any blindingly obvious mistakes here - please don't think I'm a rubbish developer, I'm just wet behind the ears and would appreciate being told exactly where I'm going wrong. Anyway, code in (mostly) full (really didn't want to put this much code here, but I don't know where I'm going wrong - apologies in advance): public class RestfulAPIService extends Service { final RemoteCallbackList<IRemoteServiceCallback> mCallbacks = new RemoteCallbackList<IRemoteServiceCallback>(); public void onStart(Intent intent, int startId) { super.onStart(intent, startId); } public IBinder onBind(Intent intent) { return binder; } public void onCreate() { super.onCreate(); } public void onDestroy() { super.onDestroy(); mCallbacks.kill(); } private final IRestfulService.Stub binder = new IRestfulService.Stub() { public void doLogin(String username, String password) { Message msg = new Message(); Bundle data = new Bundle(); HashMap<String, String> values = new HashMap<String, String>(); values.put("username", username); values.put("password", password); String result = post(Config.getURL("login"), values); data.putString("response", result); msg.setData(data); msg.what = Config.ACTION_LOGIN; mHandler.sendMessage(msg); } public void registerCallback(IRemoteServiceCallback cb) { if (cb != null) mCallbacks.register(cb); } }; private final Handler mHandler = new Handler() { public void handleMessage(Message msg) { // Broadcast to all clients the new value. final int N = mCallbacks.beginBroadcast(); for (int i = 0; i < N; i++) { try { switch (msg.what) { case Config.ACTION_LOGIN: mCallbacks.getBroadcastItem(i).userLogIn( msg.getData().getString("response")); break; default: super.handleMessage(msg); return; } } catch (RemoteException e) { } } mCallbacks.finishBroadcast(); } public String post(String url, HashMap<String, String> namePairs) {...} public String get(String url) {...} }; A couple of AIDL files: package com.something.android oneway interface IRemoteServiceCallback { void userLogIn(String result); } and package com.something.android import com.something.android.IRemoteServiceCallback; interface IRestfulService { void doLogin(in String username, in String password); void registerCallback(IRemoteServiceCallback cb); } and the service manager: public class ServiceManager { final RemoteCallbackList<IRemoteServiceCallback> mCallbacks = new RemoteCallbackList<IRemoteServiceCallback>(); public IRestfulService restfulService; private RestfulServiceConnection conn; private boolean started = false; private Context context; public ServiceManager(Context context) { this.context = context; } public void startService() { if (started) { Toast.makeText(context, "Service already started", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); } else { Intent i = new Intent(); i.setClassName("com.something.android", "com.something.android.RestfulAPIService"); context.startService(i); started = true; } } public void stopService() { if (!started) { Toast.makeText(context, "Service not yet started", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); } else { Intent i = new Intent(); i.setClassName("com.something.android", "com.something.android.RestfulAPIService"); context.stopService(i); started = false; } } public void bindService() { if (conn == null) { conn = new RestfulServiceConnection(); Intent i = new Intent(); i.setClassName("com.something.android", "com.something.android.RestfulAPIService"); context.bindService(i, conn, Context.BIND_AUTO_CREATE); } else { Toast.makeText(context, "Cannot bind - service already bound", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); } } class RestfulServiceConnection implements ServiceConnection { public void onServiceConnected(ComponentName className, IBinder boundService) { restfulService = IRestfulService.Stub.asInterface((IBinder) boundService); • How do I make sure no handlers are attached to an event?

    - by Edward Tanguay
    I am adding an event handler like this: theImage.MouseMove += new MouseEventHandler(theImage_MouseMove); but in my application, this code gets run every time the page is shown, so I want to attach the event handler only once, but how can I tell if a handler has been set yet or not, something like this: if(theImage.MouseMove == null) //error theImage.MouseMove += new MouseEventHandler(theImage_MouseMove);

  • detect sender of signal (linux, ptrace)

    - by osgx
    Hello Can I distinguish signal, between delivered directly to a process and delivered via debugger. Case 1: $ ./process1 process1 (not ptraced) set up handler alarm(5); .... signal is handled and I can parse handler parameters Case 2: $ debugger1 ./process1 process1 (is ptraced by debugger1) set up handler alarm(5); ... signal is catched by debugger1. It resumes process1 with PTRACE_CONT, signal_number is 4th parameter of PTRACE_CONT. signal is redelivered to process1 it is handled. So, how can I detect in signal handler, was it redelivered by debugger or send by system? OS is Linux, kernel is 2.6.30. Programs are written in plain C.

  • Am I using handlers in the wrong way?

    - by superexsl
    Hey, I've never used HTTP Handlers before, and I've got one working, but I'm not sure if I'm actually using it properly. I have generated a string which will be saved as a CSV file. When the user clicks a button, I want the download dialog box to open so that the user can save the file. What I have works, but I keep reading about modifying the web.config file and I haven't had to do that. My Handler: private string _data; private string _title = "temp"; public void AddData(string data) { _data = data; } public bool IsReusable { get { return false; } } public void ProcessRequest(HttpContext context) { context.Response.ContentType = "text/csv"; context.Response.AddHeader("content-disposition", "filename=" + _title + ".csv"); context.Response.Write(_data); context.Response.Flush(); context.Response.Close(); } And this is from the page that allows the user to download: (on button click) string dataToConvert = "MYCSVDATA...."; csvHandler handler = new csvHandler(); handler.AddData(dataToConvert); handler.ProcessRequest(this.Context); This works fine, but no examples I've seen ever instantiate the handler and always seem to modify the web.config. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks

  • Why doesn't my QsciLexerCustom subclass work in PyQt4 using QsciScintilla?

    - by Jon Watte
    My end goal is to get Erlang syntax highlighting in QsciScintilla using PyQt4 and Python 2.6. I'm running on Windows 7, but will also need Ubuntu support. PyQt4 is missing the necessary wrapper code for the Erlang lexer/highlighter that "base" scintilla has, so I figured I'd write a lightweight one on top of QsciLexerCustom. It's a little bit problematic, because the Qsci wrapper seems to really want to talk about line+index rather than offset-from-start when getting/setting subranges of text. Meanwhile, the lexer gets arguments as offset-from-start. For now, I get a copy of the entire text, and split that up as appropriate. I have the following lexer, and I apply it with setLexer(). It gets all the appropriate calls when I open a new file and sets this as the lexer, and prints a bunch of appropriate lines based on what it's doing... but there is no styling in the document. I tried making all the defined styles red, and the document is still stubbornly black-on-white, so apparently the styles don't really "take effect" What am I doing wrong? If nobody here knows, what's the appropriate discussion forum where people might actually know these things? (It's an interesting intersection between Python, Qt and Scintilla, so I imagine the set of people who would know is small) Let's assume prefs.declare() just sets up a dict that returns the value for the given key (I've verified this -- it's not the problem). Let's assume scintilla is reasonably properly constructed into its host window QWidget. Specifically, if I apply a bundled lexer (such as QsciLexerPython), it takes effect and does show styled text. prefs.declare('font.name.margin', "MS Dlg") prefs.declare('font.size.margin', 8) prefs.declare('font.name.code', "Courier New") prefs.declare('font.size.code', 10) prefs.declare('color.editline', "#d0e0ff") class LexerErlang(Qsci.QsciLexerCustom): def __init__(self, obj = None): Qsci.QsciLexerCustom.__init__(self, obj) self.sci = None self.plainFont = QtGui.QFont() self.plainFont.setPointSize(int(prefs.get('font.size.code'))) self.plainFont.setFamily(prefs.get('font.name.code')) self.marginFont = QtGui.QFont() self.marginFont.setPointSize(int(prefs.get('font.size.code'))) self.marginFont.setFamily(prefs.get('font.name.margin')) self.boldFont = QtGui.QFont() self.boldFont.setPointSize(int(prefs.get('font.size.code'))) self.boldFont.setFamily(prefs.get('font.name.code')) self.boldFont.setBold(True) self.styles = [ Qsci.QsciStyle(0, QtCore.QString("base"), QtGui.QColor("#000000"), QtGui.QColor("#ffffff"), self.plainFont, True), Qsci.QsciStyle(1, QtCore.QString("comment"), QtGui.QColor("#008000"), QtGui.QColor("#eeffee"), self.marginFont, True), Qsci.QsciStyle(2, QtCore.QString("keyword"), QtGui.QColor("#000080"), QtGui.QColor("#ffffff"), self.boldFont, True), Qsci.QsciStyle(3, QtCore.QString("string"), QtGui.QColor("#800000"), QtGui.QColor("#ffffff"), self.marginFont, True), Qsci.QsciStyle(4, QtCore.QString("atom"), QtGui.QColor("#008080"), QtGui.QColor("#ffffff"), self.plainFont, True), Qsci.QsciStyle(5, QtCore.QString("macro"), QtGui.QColor("#808000"), QtGui.QColor("#ffffff"), self.boldFont, True), Qsci.QsciStyle(6, QtCore.QString("error"), QtGui.QColor("#000000"), QtGui.QColor("#ffd0d0"), self.plainFont, True), ] print("LexerErlang created") def description(self, ix): for i in self.styles: if i.style() == ix: return QtCore.QString(i.description()) return QtCore.QString("") def setEditor(self, sci): self.sci = sci Qsci.QsciLexerCustom.setEditor(self, sci) print("LexerErlang.setEditor()") def styleText(self, start, end): print("LexerErlang.styleText(%d,%d)" % (start, end)) lines = self.getText(start, end) offset = start self.startStyling(offset, 0) print("startStyling()") for i in lines: if i == "": self.setStyling(1, self.styles[0]) print("setStyling(1)") offset += 1 continue if i[0] == '%': self.setStyling(len(i)+1, self.styles[1]) print("setStyling(%)") offset += len(i)+1 continue self.setStyling(len(i)+1, self.styles[0]) print("setStyling(n)") offset += len(i)+1 def getText(self, start, end): data = self.sci.text() print("LexerErlang.getText(): " + str(len(data)) + " chars") return data[start:end].split('\n') Applied to the QsciScintilla widget as follows: _lexers = { 'erl': (Q.SCLEX_ERLANG, LexerErlang), 'hrl': (Q.SCLEX_ERLANG, LexerErlang), 'html': (Q.SCLEX_HTML, Qsci.QsciLexerHTML), 'css': (Q.SCLEX_CSS, Qsci.QsciLexerCSS), 'py': (Q.SCLEX_PYTHON, Qsci.QsciLexerPython), 'php': (Q.SCLEX_PHP, Qsci.QsciLexerHTML), 'inc': (Q.SCLEX_PHP, Qsci.QsciLexerHTML), 'js': (Q.SCLEX_CPP, Qsci.QsciLexerJavaScript), 'cpp': (Q.SCLEX_CPP, Qsci.QsciLexerCPP), 'h': (Q.SCLEX_CPP, Qsci.QsciLexerCPP), 'cxx': (Q.SCLEX_CPP, Qsci.QsciLexerCPP), 'hpp': (Q.SCLEX_CPP, Qsci.QsciLexerCPP), 'c': (Q.SCLEX_CPP, Qsci.QsciLexerCPP), 'hxx': (Q.SCLEX_CPP, Qsci.QsciLexerCPP), 'tpl': (Q.SCLEX_CPP, Qsci.QsciLexerCPP), 'xml': (Q.SCLEX_XML, Qsci.QsciLexerXML), } ... inside my document window class ... def addContentsDocument(self, contents, title): handler = self.makeScintilla() handler.title = title sci = handler.sci sci.append(contents) self.tabWidget.addTab(sci, title) self.tabWidget.setCurrentWidget(sci) self.applyLexer(sci, title) EventBus.bus.broadcast('command.done', {'text': 'Opened ' + title}) return handler def applyLexer(self, sci, title): (language, lexer) = language_and_lexer_from_title(title) if lexer: l = lexer() print("making lexer: " + str(l)) sci.setLexer(l) else: print("setting lexer by id: " + str(language)) sci.SendScintilla(Qsci.QsciScintillaBase.SCI_SETLEXER, language) linst = sci.lexer() print("lexer: " + str(linst)) def makeScintilla(self): sci = Qsci.QsciScintilla() sci.setUtf8(True) sci.setTabIndents(True) sci.setIndentationsUseTabs(False) sci.setIndentationWidth(4) sci.setMarginsFont(self.smallFont) sci.setMarginWidth(0, self.smallFontMetrics.width('00000')) sci.setFont(self.monoFont) sci.setAutoIndent(True) sci.setBraceMatching(Qsci.QsciScintilla.StrictBraceMatch) handler = SciHandler(sci) self.handlers[sci] = handler sci.setMarginLineNumbers(0, True) sci.setCaretLineVisible(True) sci.setCaretLineBackgroundColor(QtGui.QColor(prefs.get('color.editline'))) return handler Let's assume the rest of the application works, too (because it does :-)

    Hi Everyone, I need to be able to call data from a different model - not just one field, but any of them. At the moment I have the following models: kase person company party I can call information from the company to the kase and from the person to the kase using this: <li>Client Company Address: <span class="address"><%=h @kase.company.companyaddress %></span></li> <li>Case Handler: <span><%=h @kase.person.personname %></span></li> Those two work, however if I add the following: <li>Client Company Fax: <span><%=h @kase.company.companyfax %></span></li> <li>Case Handler Tel: <span><%=h @kase.person.personmobile %></span></li> <li>Case Handler Email: <span><%=h @kase.person.personemail %></span></li> Any idea whats wrong? Thanks, Danny EDIT: I get the following error message: NoMethodError in Kases#show Showing app/views/kases/show.html.erb where line #37 raised: You have a nil object when you didn't expect it! • regenerating url in cf9/Coldbox

    - by faheem7860
    Hi I am wondering if there is a way to regenerate the URL when any page is loaded in coldbox/CF9 when using event.buildLink ? Currently I get http://cawksd05.codandev.local:8080/entries/editor when using event.buildlink. But the correct url should have /index.cfm added to it as shown below: /index.cfm/entries/editor Is there a way to set this once and where does this get set as I am confused where to set this for all my pages so that /index.cfm gets added the the url prefix when I do an event.Buildlink. Thanks Faheem // General Properties setUniqueURLS(false); setAutoReload(false); // Base URL if( len(getSetting('AppMapping') ) lte 1){ setBaseURL("http://#cgi.HTTP_HOST#/index.cfm"); } else{ setBaseURL("http://#cgi.HTTP_HOST#/#getSetting('AppMapping')#/index.cfm"); } // Your Application Routes formatConstraints = {format="(xml|json)"}; addRoute(pattern="/api/:format/tasks/completed",handler="tasksAPI",action="list",constraints=formatConstraints,completed=true); addRoute(pattern="/api/:format/tasks",handler="tasksAPI",action="list",constraints=formatConstraints); addRoute(pattern="/api/:format?",handler="tasksAPI",action="invalid"); addRoute(pattern="/tasks/list/:status?",handler="tasks",action="index"); addRoute(pattern=":handler/:action?");

  • How do I configure the Python logging module in Django?

    - by mipadi
    I'm trying to configure logging for a Django app using the Python logging module. I have placed the following bit of configuration code in my Django project's settings.py file: import logging import logging.handlers import os date_fmt = '%m/%d/%Y %H:%M:%S' log_formatter = logging.Formatter(u'[%(asctime)s] %(levelname)-7s: %(message)s (%(filename)s:%(lineno)d)', datefmt=date_fmt) log_dir = os.path.join(PROJECT_DIR, "var", "log", "my_app") log_name = os.path.join(log_dir, "nyrb.log") bytes = 1024 * 1024 # 1 MB if not os.path.exists(log_dir): os.makedirs(log_dir) handler = logging.handlers.RotatingFileHandler(log_name, maxBytes=bytes, backupCount=7) handler.setFormatter(log_formatter) handler.setLevel(logging.DEBUG) logging.getLogger().setLevel(logging.DEBUG) logging.getLogger().addHandler(handler) logging.getLogger(__name__).info("Initialized logging subsystem") At startup, I get a couple Django-related messages, as well as the "Initialized logging subsystem", in the log files, but then all the log messages end up going to the web server logs (/var/log/apache2/error.log, since I'm using Apache), and use the standard log format (not the formatter I designated). Am I configuring logging incorrectly?
