• Problem in installing player/gazebo

  I am using ubuntu 10.04 (64-bit), i have sucessfully installed all the dependancies of player and gazebo, then i installed player 3.01 and then gazebo 0.9,Now the when i run this gazebo worlds/pioneer2dx.world I get a gazebo interface, everything is ok uptill now, but when i run this cd gazebo/player player gazebo.cfg player: error while loading shared libraries: libplayerdrivers.so.3.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory I guess the problem is somewhere in the environmental variables, can anyone please help me to solve this?

  While creating BI Publisher reports the formatting issues are quite common.Here I am discussing some common issues related to BIP report development. 1) First issue is related to column formatting.When you want to display some data which has leading zeros or trailing zeros after '.' in EXCEL output you will not get the desired output.But in PDF it will come as what you are expecting.This is not with the issue of your data. This is due to the unique nature of EXCEL cell format.When you are trying to put a text data in a cell with out making any change to cell format it will treat as number and it will truncate all leading zeros and all trailing zeros after '.' . So what you have to do is to convert that data into a format which EXCEL can treat as text. Eg: If you want to display 0020100 convert this data into ="0020100". Same way for 23789.02300 to ="23789.02300".   Note: This is applicable to EXCEL output only.If you have multiple output type apply it only for EXCEL. 2) Second is related to report size issue in PDF output type.If the number of columns are more and if you want to show most of the columns in one row andif it is a PDF output you can choose the paper size as Legal (8.5 x 14''). You will get more spaces in the template to accommodate more columns. 3) If your XML data contains special characters like &,<,> etc ..  pass the data to DBMS_XMLGEN.CONVERT function.It will replace special characters with corresponding XML notations. Eg: (a>b) & (c!=d) to  (a&gt;b) &amp; (c!=d)

I would like to install a total of twice that. Is there a method of setting it which would not include guesswork on my part?

  Windows died. So, I installed ubuntu, and have had difficulties downloading apps from the internet like skype or realplayer... etc. And It does not recognize my password. I needed to install drivers for my wireless from cd-rom. It does not show where to save new downloaded files and programs, and app and does not show how to install like windows does. So I would like to go back to windows. Window does not not start up anymore and I can not get safe mode with F8. It goes to black screen only and none of other parameters work when press f8! Any help is highly valued.

  we are using the google search appliance in our web app. It is used by several other parts of our organization but we are using it on a web app that uses https. So, we followed google's instructions to get all the google code via https so that users don't get the annoying "This page contains both secure and insecure items" popup. Most of the google code has behaved and come to us as https, but there is a part of it pulling from http://www.google.com/cse full URL = http://www.google.com/cse?q=searchTerma&cx=001025153263958516519%3Aj2323tveixc&cof=FORID%3A11%3BNB%3A1&ie... that causes the insecure items warning to popup. This popup occurs in the results page and the above URL is the only non-secure request I can find.

  I have had Ubuntu on my laptop for quite a while, it's just a standard install, no partitioning off, no wierdness of any other sort, just ubuntu. Today my computer started to lag really bad so I tried to restart it, but after bios loaded I just got an error that said "ERROR: No configuration file found No DEFAULT or UI configuration directive found!" After that it had "boot:" and a cursor, like it expects me to type something. Once again, this is just a normal install on my hard drive, not a VM or booting from USB. It's Ubuntu 12.04 on a Sony Vaio VGN-SZ240P Any help is appreciated!

• wubi boots into grub after 12.04 install

  I would just like to recover the files off of the wubi install and then install a proper version of ubuntu, is there any way to recover the files? for further information. I had ubuntu 11.04 and used the update manager to update it to 12.04. it worked for aproximitely a day and then I had to do a hard reset the next day after what seemed to be artifact corruption. upon trying to reboot into ubuntu it brings up the grub command prompt "gnu grub version 1.99-12ubuntu5" i have previously done hard resets on it in the past, there is nothing in my windows hidden 000 recovery folder.

  I have installed Ubuntu on another partition on my macbook only to find when i boot using refit im greeted with a screen that reads Missing Operating System I have chosen to install grub on the root partition so i assume after the EFI boot-loader has done its stuff it will then load grub in the " / " partition. Any thoughts on this i couldn't find anyone with this problem. I can only assume its a problem with the GRUB install on the partition. But i have tried to reinstall it and it did not work....?   I have a question, my friend tried installing Ubuntu on my notebook (Asus g75v) and nothing tried, at one point he went past the installation screen and every he used the mouse the screen flickered and the driver crashed (I assume) and it would go back a step, I heard that there is way to install ubuntu without any graphics, maybe that will help me with the screen flickering (I have a gtx 670m), so we tried WUBI installer, I tried installing with that and it gave me a Wubildr.mbr missing error, so I gave that up after several times, although I do notice that I have an intel driver, and I keep downloading AMD versions, does that effect anything? I'm having trouble installing Ubuntu and I wish to be able to run it on my laptop, I want to learn this OS and I cannot even install it, I am a bit concerned, if anyone can back at me with any answer at all, please don't hesitate to post, just please don't post if you don't know what's going on, thanks for listening! ~cheers -Dragos

  Ok, the thing is this I tried asking many times on few ubuntu forums how to deal with my non-responsive Update Manager, but all I was getting was the same stuff (run it from the terminal, run some lines, apt-get update blah blah). Nothing was helping. Eventually I went mad Windows style and tried to simply uninstall it and install it again. The problem is - how to install it again? Can't do it through Software Center, can't really build a package (because I'm too stupid to do that). And I seriously want to avoid reinstalling the whole system.   I've installed Ubuntu on my Macbook before but something went wrong with the updater. So, I had to backup my HDD and format it and reinstall OS X Lion. But here's the thing: Ever since I re-installed my OS I've been trying to get Ubuntu back on the HDD. I partitioned it to 40 GB and set the file system to Ext4. I also recently created a swap partition too and it seems to install correctly. After i installed rEFIt it just has this cute little penguin sitting there. I rebooted and tried to go back to Ubuntu and the penguin still shows up but this time a black screen pops up and it asks me to insert a bootable device and press any key. I'm not sure why this is happening. This is probably the 5th time I've tried to install it. I've even used a different Ubuntu ISO but it still won't boot after the installation.

  I believe i have tried every trick in the book but Ubuntu just wont install. Windows has no issue with it. I burned a DVD of Ubuntu 12.10 and it has passed all checks, but i keep getting different errors while installing. Mainly while "Creating the Partition in dev" and some times during "Copying files". The errors are: Errno 30, Errno 33, Installer crashed, failed to create partition etc... I have Intel core 2 duo 2.66Ghz, 4gb ram and ASrock motherboard. I really want to install Ubuntu 12.10 and 12.10 only! Also Should i prefer 32bit or 64bit? I have burned a 32bit version. Thank you

  So did my first Windows 8 install today. Did it on a Macbook Pro (bootcamp partition). Bootcamp partition, needed to be formatted by Windows 8, in-order to proceed. However once done install went smoothly. Installed the Apple Windows Support stuff in compatibility mode; which went well. I tried it first not in compatibility mode and it caused a Blue Screen of death (which now has a :-( icon ) The volume, brightness etc. soft keys work well. I had some trouble joining wireless networks; so hopefully a windows update will resolve. First impression, is that 'its just like Windows 7', but with Metro. We'll see what happens over the next few days.

  I have an installation of Windows 7 and I would like to install Ubuntu 12.10 side by side. During the installation of Ubuntu GRUB comes up with an error and gives me the option to select which disk it should be installed to. I have always found this difficult as I am never sure which disk to select. In my case I see one with "Windows bootloader". I was guessing that was the boot disk for my system but having selected it and completing the Ubuntu installation, GRUB did not appear and Windows loaded. I had no way to get to my Ubuntu installation. I then tried another disk for GRUB after receiving the same message on a re-install of Ubuntu but it didn't work either. In stead of fumbling about I thought I would ask here. Thanks for any advice!

  I've seen Guard and it's usefulness in web development and would like to install it. Naturally, I expected to be able to use sudo gem install guard to do so (yes, it is a Ruby Gem). However the installation errors out. Here is what I'm getting: Building native extensions. This could take a while...
