  • Suppressing line specific XCode compiler warnings

    - by MrHen
Similar to Ben Gottlieb's question, I have a handful of deprecated calls that are bugging me. Is there a way to suppress warnings by line? For instance: if([[UIApplication sharedApplication] respondsToSelector:@selector(setStatusBarHidden:withAnimation:)]) { [[UIApplication sharedApplication] setStatusBarHidden:YES withAnimation:UIStatusBarAnimationSlide]; } else { [[UIApplication sharedApplication] setStatusBarHidden:YES animated:NO]; //causes deprecation warning } All I care about is that line. I don't want to turn off all deprecation warnings. I would also rather not do something like suppress specific warnings by file. There have been a few other circumstances where I wanted to flag a specific line as okay even though the compiler generates a warning. I essentially want to let my team know that the problem has been handled and stop getting bugged about the same line over and over.

  • Are There Specific CSS Selectors Targeting IE10?

    - by kunambi
Since IE is getting rid of conditional comments in version 10, I'm in dire need to find a "CSS hack" targeting IE10 specifically. NB! It has to be the selector that's getting "hacked" and not the CSS-properties. In Mozilla, you can use: @-moz-document url-prefix() { h1 { color: red; } } While in Webkit, you usually do: @media screen and (-webkit-min-device-pixel-ratio:0) { h1 { color: blue; } } How would I do something similar in IE10? TYIA.

  • jquery dialog - which button opened the dialog?

    - by Dan
In the example below, how can you use the event and ui objects to detect which link opened the dialog? Can't seem to get $(event.target).attr("title"); to work properly, and I'm having trouble finding documentation on the 'ui object that is passed. Thanks! $( ".selector" ).dialog({ link_title = $(event.target).attr("title"); alert(link_title); }); $("a").live("click", function() { btn_rel = $(this).attr("rel"); $(btn_rel).dialog("open"); }); <a class="btn pencil" rel="#dialog_support_option_form" title="Edit Support Option">Edit</button>

  • jquery buttonset()

    - by Kevin
Hi - I'm using the jquery buttonset() on a set of radio buttons (to tart them up). I'd like to be able to set the selected radio button on another user event. I've been looking into this and while I can set the selected radio button, but I cannot also (easily) update the UI to indicate what the selected radio button is. From what I can tell, I need to call this to set the radio button at index n to be checked $('input[name="transactionsRadio"]')[n].checked = true; And then do some convoluted jquery selector calls to remove the ui-state-active from one lable and apply it to the new label. Is this really the most optimal way to do this ? I had expected an equivalent method to the 'activate' method that is available for the jquery Accordian control. Any more elegant solution would be appreciated! Thanks, Kevin.

  • How do the performance characteristics of jQuery selectors differ from those of CSS selectors?

    - by Moss
I came across Google's Page Speed add-on for Firebug yesterday. The page about using efficient CSS selectors said to not use overqualified selectors, i.e. use #foo instead of div#foo. I thought the latter would be faster but Google's saying otherwise, and who am I to go against that? So that got me wondering if the same applied to jQuery selectors. This page I found the link to on SO says I should use $("div#foo"), which is what I was doing all along, since I thought that things would speed up by limiting the selector to match div elements only. But is it really better than writing $("#foo") like Google's saying for CSS selectors, or do CSS versus jQuery element matching work in different ways and I should stick with $("div#foo")?

  • iPhone: Using static library in an application crashes the device but not the iphone simulator

    - by spin-docta
I have a library I made, and now I want to utilize it in an application. I've believe I've properly linked to the library. Here are all the things I've done: Set the header search path Set other linker flags to "-ObjC" Added the static library xcode project Made sure the lib.a was listed as a framework target Added the library as a direct dependency Like I said in the title, I've successfully run the app with the static library in the simulator. Once I try testing the app using the device, it crashes the second it has to use a function from the library: *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '*** +[NSDate firstOfCurrentMonth]: unrecognized selector sent to class 0x3841bb44' 2009-10-10 12:45:31.159 Basement[2372:207] Stack:

  • How to load jqtouch on-demand

    - by Jayson P.
I'm trying to load jqtouch on-demand like so: <script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery.js"</script <script type="text/javascript" $(function() { $.getScript("js/jqtouch.min.js", function() { $.jQTouch(); }); }); </script Firebug outputs: $(_3c.selector).tap is not a function If I include jqtouch.min.js in a script, like I did for jquery.js and call $.jQtouch, everything will work correctly. However, I'd like to load jqtouch only when I need to, however I can't seem to get it to work. I also tried doing an ajax post to jqtouch.min.js and received the same error.

  • jQuery in sharepoint retruning Object Expected

    - by Simon Thompson
When I add jquery to sharepoint 2007 (MOSS) and try and use it on a page no matter what I write on the client i get an "object expected" at the line/column where the "$" appears. I have used fiddler to check that the client is downloading the query JS (which it is) But its like its being ignore and therefor eth "$" is not understood. Searching google everybody is saying its the selector not finding the elements but see code below I do not see how it can not find my very simple example. In master page in header <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery.min.js"></script> version 1.4.2 On a page <a href="javascript:abc();">Testing</a> <script> function abc(){ $("#simon").css("border","3px solid red"); } </script> <div id="simon">

  • How to push a modal view from didFinishPickingMediaWithInfo

    - by Andiih
I've got an imagePickerController which allows the user to take or select an image. In - (void)imagePickerController:(UIImagePickerController *)picker didFinishPickingMediaWithInfo:(NSDictionary *)info; I would like to trigger opening another modal view to capture the caption. I have a call for that purpose... -(void) getcaption:(id) obj { textInput * ti = [[textInput alloc] initWithContent:@"" header:@"Caption for photo" source:2]; ti.delegate = self; [self presentModalViewController:ti animated:YES]; [ti release]; } The question is how to call getcaption without triggering a spiral of #6663 0x324abb18 in -[UIView(Hierarchy) _makeSubtreePerformSelector:withObject:withObject:copySublayers:] () At the moment I do [self performSelector:@selector(getcaption:) withObject:nil afterDelay:(NSTimeInterval)1]; in didFinishPickingMediaWithInfo which is nasty, and only 95% reliable

  • Resolving IEnumerable<T> with Unity

    - by Mark Seemann
Can Unity automatically resolve IEnumerable<T>? Let's say I have a class with this constructor: public CoalescingParserSelector(IEnumerable<IParserBuilder> parserBuilders) and I configure individual IParserBuilder instances in the container: container.RegisterType<IParserSelector, CoalescingParserSelector>(); container.RegisterType<IParserBuilder, HelpParserBuilder>(); container.RegisterType<IParserBuilder, SomeOtherParserBuilder>(); can I make this work without having to implement a custom implementation of IEnumerable<IParserBuilder>? var selector = container.Resolve<IParserSelector>(); So far I haven't been able to express this in any simple way, but I'm still ramping up on Unity so I may have missed something.

  • Can't make wmode: 'transparent' work on sIFR 3

    - by Synue
    I've been trying to use sIFR to change some text in my webpage. It works fine until I try to get it to use a transparent canvas. The code I'm using is as follow. I have no idea to fix it. I've seen a lot of people make this questions about wmode: 'transparent' and it all seems to work but mine. Can someone give me a hand??? Without the wmode: 'transparent' property it works fine. When I include the property it doesn't activate sIFR and we get the page as the normal HTML. sIFR.replace(myriadPro, { selector: '#title1,#title3,#title5,#title7,#title9,#title11,#title13,#title15,#title17,#title19', css: [ '.sIFR-root {background-color:none;font-size:45px;visibility:visible;text-decoration:none;color:#4C4843;cursor:pointer;}' ], wmode: 'transparent' });

  • Storing callbacks in a dictionary (Objective C for the iPhone)

    - by Casebash
I am trying to store callbacks in a dictionary. I can't use blocks as the iPhone doesn't support this (unless you use plblocks). I tried using functions, but apparently NSMutableDictionary doesn't allow these pointers (wants an id) I tried using class methods, but I couldn't find a way to obtain a pointer to these I could try using functions with the c++ stl hashmap (if it is supported in Objective C++), but apparently this can slow compilation times. I could try storing both a class and a selector, but that seems rather messy. What would be the best way to do this?

  • [UIScreen applicationFrame] returning incorrect rectangle on landscape application launch (iPhone/iP

    - by jbrennan
Having trouble getting the correct bounds for my iPad application when launching it in landscape mode. I have the proper keys set in my Info.plist file, and my view controllers launch properly in landscape (and portrait, natch). In my applicationDidFinishLaunching: method I'm calling a selector after a 3 second delay, and that method makes a call to [[UIScreen applicationFrame]`, but it's returning me a portrait frame (ie height width). Does anyone know how to fix this? It smells like a bug to me (if so I'll file a radar), but if it's intended behaviour, where is it documented?

  • UILabel fade-in fade-out question

    - by Oscar Peli
Hi there, I got the following code inside an NSTimer selector: [UIView beginAnimations:nil context:NULL]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:2.0]; [infoLbl setAlpha:0]; [UIView commitAnimations]; [UIView beginAnimations:nil context:NULL]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:2.0]; [infoLbl setAlpha:1]; [UIView commitAnimations]; So I want to implement a simple fade-in/fade-out loop upon a UILabel (infoLbl). Well, with this code I get only the fade-in step, since the UILabel suddenly disappear, then fades-in. Some suggestion? Thanks.

  • Visual Studio Add-in to view open files

    - by pfunk
I frequently have 10 or more files open in Visual Studio at one time. I am looking for an add-in that will duplicate the functionality of the "Windows" Window, but in a NON-Modal, dockable type window. In other words a window with a list of the files open in the IDE, that I can dock next to the Solution explorer or something, and just click on to switch to that open file (if anyone has ever used Textpad, the Document Selector is exactly what I am talking about). Anyone seen an Add-in like that? Note: I am NOT talking about another Window Layout manager

  • How to detect touches on MPMoviePlayerController window and still having the standard playback cont

    - by gkedmi
Hello I have the MPMoviePlayerController set up to play a movie.I want to detect a touch on the movie for bringing up few buttons.I used the code : // The movie's window is the one that is active UIWindow* moviePlayerWindow = [[UIApplication sharedApplication] keyWindow]; // Now we create an invisible control with the same size as the window UIControl* overlay = [[[UIControl alloc] initWithFrame:moviePlayerWindow.frame]autorelease]; // We want to get notified whenever the overlay control is touched [overlay addTarget:self action:@selector(movieWindowTouched:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchDown]; // Add the overlay to the window's subviews [moviePlayerWindow addSubview:overlay]; but then the play back controllers doesn't appear , I guess because the player window doesn't get the touch.how can I keep the player controllers and still detects touches? thanks

  • How much overhead does a msg_send call incur?

    - by pxl
I'm attempting to piece together and run a list of tasks put together by a user. These task lists can be hundreds or thousand of items long. From what I know, the easiest and most obvious way would be to build an array and then iterate through them: NSArray *arrayOfTasks = .... init and fill with thousands of tasks for (id *eachTask in arrayOfTasks) { if ( eachTask && [eachTask respondsToSelector:@selector(execute)] ) [eachTask execute]; } For a desktop, this may be no problem, but for an iphone or ipad, this may be a problem. Is this a good way to go about it, or is there a faster way to accomplish the same thing? The reason why I'm asking about how much overhead a msg_send occurs is that I could also do a straight C implementation as well. For example, I could put together a linked list and use a block to handle the next task. Will I gain anything from that or is it really more trouble than its worth?

  • Coda-Slider Problem in ie7, need to remove horizontal scrollbar

    - by Mike
Hello, I am having a big issue with coda-slider and ie7. The horizontal scrollbar is unwanted and I cannot figure out how to remove it. Since coda-slider works as one long scrolling div, I could see why this is happening, however, in all other broswers, including ie8, there is no horizonal scroll. Looking through the web there are alot of sites saying "overflow-x:hidden" will work on the body selector in css, however this has not solved the issue. the site is at http://www.clearcreativegroup.com/clear3/index.html Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • iphone Dev - activity indicator with NSThread not working on Nav controller table view

    - by Frames84
I really can't get this to work, basically when my JSON feeds loads I want the indicator to show, then hide when it's stopped. It loads top level menu items 1st "Publishing, Broadcasting, Marketing Services", then when Broadcasting is selected it loads a feed using the JSON framework hosted on Google. Round this load I call startIndicator and stopIndicator using the NSThread. • UltraWebGrid: How to use a drop-down list in a column

    - by Crossbrowser
I'm using the Infragistics grid and I'm having a difficult time using a drop-down list as the value selector for one of my columns. I tried reading the documentation but Infragistics' documentation is not so good. I've also taken a look at this discussion with no luck. What I'm doing so far: col.Type = ColumnType.DropDownList; col.DataType = "System.String"; col.ValueList = myValueList; where myValueList is: ValueList myValueList = new ValueList(); myValueList.Prompt = "My text prompt"; myValueList.DisplayStyle = ValueListDisplayStyle.DisplayText; foreach(MyObjectType item in MyObjectTypeCollection) { myValueList.ValueItems.Add(item.ID, item.Text); // Note that the ID is a string (not my design) } When I look at the page, I expect to see a drop-down list in the cells for this column, but my columns are empty.

  • How can I use OCMock to verify that a method is never called?

    - by Justin Voss
    At my day job I've been spoiled with Mockito's never() verification, which can confirm that a mock method is never called. Is there some way to accomplish the same thing using Objective-C and OCMock? I've been using the code below, which works but it feels like a hack. I'm hoping there's a better way... - (void)testSomeMethodIsNeverCalled { id mock = [OCMockObject mockForClass:[MyObject class]]; [[[mock stub] andCall:@selector(fail) onObject:self] forbiddenMethod]; // more test things here, which hopefully // never call [mock forbiddenMethod]... } - (void)fail { STFail(@"This method is forbidden!"); }

  • TreeView inside AutoCompleteBox's popup

    - by Satumba
Hi, Inspired by this post, I'm trying to use a TreeView inside the AutoCompleteBox's popup in order to show hierarchical data. Here's what i did: I Made my own TreeView that implements ISelectionAdapter (not sure it's perfect) Edit AutoCompleteBox template and change the selector to my treeview Try Bind my ViewModel to it Unfortunately this is not working. i checked my new TreeView with the same binding to the same object and it works prefectly when it's outside of a AutoCompleteBox template. Any idea? any special way to implement ISelectionAdapter for treeview? did i missed something? couldn't find any example for it on the web... Thanks.

  • Why is -[UISwitch superlayer] being called?

    - by Jonathan Sterling
I've got sort of a crazy thing going on where I have an NSProxy subclass standing in for a UISwitch. Messages sent to the proxy are forwarded to the switch. Please don't comment on whether or not this is a good design, because in context, it makes sense as an incredibly cool thing. The dealio is that when I try to add this object as an accessory view to a UITableViewCell, I get the following crash: Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '*** -[UISwitch superlayer]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x5889740' Yes, I could just set the proxy's target as the accessory view, but then I would have to keep track of the proxy so that I could release it at the right time. So, what I really want is to be able to have the proxy retained by the table cell, and released when it is removed from the view just like a normal accessory view. So, why is -[UISwitch superlayer] (a method which does not exist) being called, and how do I save the world?
