  • Pull info from Excel Spreadsheet into C# Web Application

    I want to show information from an excel spreadsheet in a web page. The xls will have maybe 5 columns, and as many rows as needed. The columns will be 'Name', 'Created Date', 'Expired Date', 'Owner', and maybe down the road maybe more. What I would like is for the C# to nightly read the xls, and display the information in a table on the website. If there is a PDF available for download I am going to link that as well.     I'm using NHibernate 2.1.2 and Spring 1.3 I have two Text columns (blobs) in one of my classes. I'm trying to use lazy="true" for the mapping of those properties but NHProfiler still shows the two columns being added to the SELECT statement when the main object is loaded. I'm using Spring.NHibernate session factory and have configured ProxyFactory with both Castle and Spring with no luck.

    Using PHP/PDO is it possible to use a wildcard for the columns when a select is done on multiple tables and the returned array keys are fully qualified to avoid column name clash? example: SELECT * from table1, table2; gives: Array keys are 'table1.id', 'table2.id', 'table1.name' etc. I tried "SELECT table1.*,table2.* ..." but the returned array keys were not fully qualified so columns with the same name clashed and were overwritten.

    I notice that with MS Sync, going through the wizard to create the WCF service that will do the sync, you can only choose which table to sync. Is it possible to only sync a few columns of the table and not the entire table? It will also create the local sdf file with the whole table structure. I only need a few columns of the table to be displayed in my mobile device.

    Hi folks, in my C# 4.0 Application, I have a DataGridView to display some data. I want the Columns size accordingly to the content, so I set the AutoSizeColumnsMode to AllCellsExceptHeader. But I want to restrict the columns to grow beyond a certain value. There is a MinimumWidth Property ... but unfortunately no MaximumWidth Property. Any ideas how to solve this?     hi what i am trying to do is get all the collums of a table (the table can be empty) example of what i did before: SELECT COLUMN_NAME FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.COLUMNS WHERE table_name = 'aTable' AND table_schema = 'theDatabase' it works perfectly on localhost however on my provider it gives: #1142 - SELECT command denied to user 'username'@'localhost' for table 'COLUMNS' is there an alternative that doesn't use the INFORMATION_SCHEMA??

    For some reason, the developers at a new company I'm working for decided to name their columns "ignore" and "exists". Now when I run MySQL queries with those words in the where clause, I get a syntax error; however, I can't seem to figure out how to reference those columns without running into an error. I tried setting them as strings, but that doesn't make any sense. Help? Also, is there a term for this kind of mismatch?

    I have a table with columns a b and c, and if c is false then I only want to allow insertions if columns a and b are unique, but if c is true then a and b do not need to be unique. Example: There can only be one (foo, bar, false) in the table, but no limit on how many (foo, bar, true) there can be. I tried something like CONSTRAINT blah UNIQUE (a,b) AND CHECK (C is TRUE) but I can't figure out the correct syntax.
