• Graphing the pitch (frequency) of a sound

    - by Coronatus
    I want to plot the pitch of a sound into a graph. Currently I can plot the amplitude. The graph below is created by the data returned by getUnscaledAmplitude(): AudioInputStream audioInputStream = AudioSystem.getAudioInputStream(new BufferedInputStream(new FileInputStream(file))); byte[] bytes = new byte[(int) (audioInputStream.getFrameLength()) * (audioInputStream.getFormat().getFrameSize())]; audioInputStream.read(bytes); // Get amplitude values for each audio channel in an array. graphData = type.getUnscaledAmplitude(bytes, this); public int[][] getUnscaledAmplitude(byte[] eightBitByteArray, AudioInfo audioInfo) { int[][] toReturn = new int[audioInfo.getNumberOfChannels()][eightBitByteArray.length / (2 * audioInfo. getNumberOfChannels())]; int index = 0; for (int audioByte = 0; audioByte < eightBitByteArray.length;) { for (int channel = 0; channel < audioInfo.getNumberOfChannels(); channel++) { // Do the byte to sample conversion. int low = (int) eightBitByteArray[audioByte]; audioByte++; int high = (int) eightBitByteArray[audioByte]; audioByte++; int sample = (high << 8) + (low & 0x00ff); if (sample < audioInfo.sampleMin) { audioInfo.sampleMin = sample; } else if (sample > audioInfo.sampleMax) { audioInfo.sampleMax = sample; } toReturn[channel][index] = sample; } index++; } return toReturn; } But I need to show the audio's pitch, not amplitude. Fast Fourier transform appears to get the pitch, but it needs to know more variables than the raw bytes I have, and is very complex and mathematical. Is there a way I can do this?

  • Why don't copy this dokument attributes from the source xml file??

    - by siegfried storr
    Hi anyone, i'm working the first time with xslt and i really don't understand why this xsl don't copy attributes from the source xml. Perhaps someone can give me a hint?? <xsl:stylesheet version="2.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"> <xsl:output omit-xml-declaration="yes" indent="yes"/> <xsl:variable name="rpl" select="document('ParamInvoice.xml')"/> <xsl:template match="/"> <xsl:copy> <xsl:apply-templates select="* | @*"/> </xsl:copy> </xsl:template> <xsl:template match="*"> <xsl:variable name="vInvoiceElement" select="$rpl/StoraInvoice/*[name()=name(current())]"/> <xsl:copy> <xsl:if test="$vInvoiceElement/Attribute"> <xsl:call-template name="AttributeErzeugen"> <xsl:with-param name="pAttr" select="$vInvoiceElement/Attribute"/> </xsl:call-template> </xsl:if> <xsl:apply-templates/> </xsl:copy> </xsl:template> <xsl:template name="AttributeErzeugen"> <xsl:param name="pAttr"/> <xsl:for-each select="$pAttr"> <xsl:attribute name="{@name}"><xsl:value-of select="."/></xsl:attribute> </xsl:for-each> </xsl:template> </xsl:stylesheet>

  • Create PDF from HTML page with formatting retained in PDF in ASP.Net

    - by Vishal Avhad
    I am trying to convert an HTML page to a PDF using iTextSharp.dll in ASP.Net. I am able to convert the contents to my PDF , but the problem is that the Formatting of HTML page (which is inline) get removed from my PDF created. For instance I have the following code block to be formatted from my HTML page to PDF.

SPECIAL DELIVERY FOR:

Name: #CustomerName#

Date: #CreatedOn#

I have to format my PDF with much more HTML codes like this. I have used the Stylesheet class also, but that was not much of help.

  • Using a string inside the DocumentBuilder parse method (need it for parsing XML using XPath)

    - by dierre
    Hi guys! I'm trying to create a RESTful webservice using a Java Servlet. The problem is I have to pass via POST method to a webserver a request. The content of this request is not a parameter but the body itself. So I basically send from ruby something like this: url = URI.parse(@host) req = Net::HTTP::Post.new('/WebService/WebServiceServlet') req['Content-Type'] = "text/xml" # req.basic_auth 'account', 'password' req.body = data response = Net::HTTP.start(url.host, url.port){ |http| puts http.request(req).body } Then I have to retrieve the body of this request in my servlet. I use the classic readline, so I have a string. The problem is when I have to parse it as XML: private void useXML( final String soft, final PrintWriter out) throws ParserConfigurationException, SAXException, IOException, XPathExpressionException, FileNotFoundException { DocumentBuilderFactory domFactory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance(); domFactory.setNamespaceAware(true); // never forget this! DocumentBuilder builder = domFactory.newDocumentBuilder(); Document doc = builder.parse(soft); XPathFactory factory = XPathFactory.newInstance(); XPath xpath = factory.newXPath(); XPathExpression expr = xpath.compile("//software/text()"); Object result = expr.evaluate(doc, XPathConstants.NODESET); NodeList nodes = (NodeList) result; for (int i = 0; i < nodes.getLength(); i++) { out.println(nodes.item(i).getNodeValue()); } } The problem is that builder.parse() accepts: parse(File f), parse(InputSource is), parse(InputStream is). Is there any way I can transform my xml string in an InputSource or something like that? I know it could be a dummy question but Java is not my thing, I'm forced to use it and I'm not very skilled.

  • Get subdomain of XML page from XSL

    - by fudgey
    I am working with a guild hosting site that provides an XML/XSL transformation widget where all I need to do is enter the URL for the XML and XSL and it does the rest. I have written an XSL transform to display a World of Warcraft armory page: Here is an example XML page (view source to see it) of the group I'm trying to help now. So, the user is entering their own XML page url (which has an eu subdomain in this case, but it is not within the XML itself). So when I make links to the character url, I need to add the entire url <xsl:value-of select="@name"/> But I can't just set the domain to eu since there are multiple regions. Here are the possibilities: us = www, europe = eu, korea = kr, china = cn and taiwan = tw. Here is a snippet of the XML which shows the url parameters: <character achPoints="4275" classId="3" genderId="0" level="80" name="Virtex" raceId="4" rank="2" url="r=Drek%27Thar&cn=Virtex"/> I guess I could just have the user add a small bit of HTML with their region in another part of their page, something like
eu
, but I'm trying to make this work without any extra coding on their part. Edit: Ok, my question explicitly stated: How do I get the URL subdomain using XSL?

    Hi! I am new to XSL, and thus new to using scripts within the XSL. I have taken example code (also using C#) and adapted it for my own use.. but it does not work. The error message is: The URI urn:cs-scripts does not identify an external Java class The relevant code I have is: <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" xmlns:msxsl="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:xslt" exclude-result-prefixes="msxsl" xmlns:strTok="urn:cs-scripts"> ... ... ... </xsl:template> <xsl:variable name="temp"> <xsl:value-of select="tok:getList('AAA BBB CCC', ' ')"/> </xsl:variable> <msxsl:script language="C#" implements-prefix="tok"> public string[] getList(string str, char[] delim) { return str.Split(delim, StringSplitOptions.None); } public string getString(string[] list, int i) { return list[i]; } </msxsl:script> </xsl:stylesheet>

  • Extracting noun+noun or (adj|noun)+noun from Text

    - by ssuhan
    I would like to query if it is possible to extract noun+noun or (adj|noun)+noun in R package openNLP?That is, I would like to use linguistic filtering to extract candidate noun phrases. Could you direct me how to do? Many thanks. Thanks for the responses. here is the code: library("openNLP") acq <- "Gulf Applied Technologies Inc said it sold its subsidiaries engaged in pipeline and terminal operations for 12.2 mln dlrs. The company said the sale is subject to certain post closing adjustments, which it did not explain. Reuter." acqTag <- tagPOS(acq) acqTagSplit = strsplit(acqTag," ") acqTagSplit qq = 0 tag = 0 for (i in 1:length(acqTagSplit[[1]])){ qq[i] <-strsplit(acqTagSplit[[1]][i],'/') tag[i] = qq[i][[1]][2] } index = 0 k = 0 for (i in 1:(length(acqTagSplit[[1]])-1)) { if ((tag[i] == "NN" && tag[i+1] == "NN") | (tag[i] == "NNS" && tag[i+1] == "NNS") | (tag[i] == "NNS" && tag[i+1] == "NN") | (tag[i] == "NN" && tag[i+1] == "NNS") | (tag[i] == "JJ" && tag[i+1] == "NN") | (tag[i] == "JJ" && tag[i+1] == "NNS")){ k = k +1 index[k] = i } } index Reader can refer index on acqTagSplit to do noun+noun or (adj|noun)+noun extractation. (The code is not optimum but work. If you have any idea, please let me know.) Furthermore, I still have a problem. Justeson and Katz (1995) proposed another linguistic filtering to extract candidate noun phrases: ((Adj|Noun)+|((Adj|Noun)(Noun-Prep)?)(Adj|Noun))Noun I cannot well understand its meaning, could someone do me a favor to explain it or transform such representation into R language

  • Vehicle License Plate Detection

    - by Ash
    Hey all Basically for my final project at university, I'm developing a vehicle license plate detection application. Now I consider myself an intermediate programmer, however my mathematics knowledge lacks anything above secondary school, therefore producing detection formulae is basically impossible. I've spend a good amount of time looking up academic papers such as: http://www.scribd.com/doc/266575/Detecting-Vehicle-License-Plates-in-Images http://www.cic.unb.br/~mylene/PI_2010_2/ICIP10/pdfs/0003945.pdf http://www.eurasip.org/Proceedings/Eusipco/Eusipco2007/Papers/d3l-b05.pdf When it comes to the maths, I'm lost. Due to this testing various graphic images proved productive, for example: to However this approach is only catered to that particular image, and if the techniques were applied to different images, I'm sure a different, most likely poorer conversion would occur. I've read about a formula called the bottom hat morphology transform, which according to the first does the following: "Basically, the trans- formation keeps all the dark details of the picture, and eliminates everything else (including bigger dark regions and light regions)." Sadly I can't find much information on this, however the image within the documentation near the end of the report shows it's effectiveness. I'm aware this is complicated and vast, I'd just appreciate a little advice, even in terms of what transformation techniques I should focus on developing, or algorithm regarding edge detection or pixel detection. Few things I need to add Developing in C Sharp Confining the project to UK registration plates only I can basically choose the images to convert as a demonstration Thanks

  • Filemaker XSL Select Column By Name

    - by Kevin Sylvestre
    I am looking to export from Filemaker using column names (instead of positions). Currently I export the following XSL stylesheet that exports by position with:  <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" xmlns:fm="http://www.filemaker.com/fmpxmlresult" exclude-result-prefixes="fm" > <xsl:output method="xml" version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" indent="yes"/> <xsl:template match="/"> <people> <xsl:for-each select="fm:FMPXMLRESULT/fm:RESULTSET/fm:ROW"> <person>
<xsl:value-of select="fm:COL[01]/fm:DATA"/>
<location> <xsl:value-of select="fm:COL[02]/fm:DATA"/> </location> </person> </xsl:for-each> </people> </xsl:template> </xsl:stylesheet> Any ideas? Thanks.

  • Java object graph -> xml when direction of object association needs to be reversed.

    - by Sigmoidal
    An application I have been working on has objects with a relationship similar to below. In the real application both objects are JPA entities. class Underlying{} class Thing { private Underlying underlying; public Underlying getUnderlying() { return underlying; } public void setUnderlying(final Underlying underlying) { this.underlying = underlying; } } There is a requirement in the application to create xml of the form: <template> <underlying> <thing/> <thing/> <thing/> </underlying> </template> So we have a situation where the object graph expresses the relationship between Thing and Underlying in the opposite direction to how it's expressed in the xml. I expect to use JAXB to create the xml but ideally I don't want to have to create a new object hierarchy to reflect the associations in the xml. Is there any way to create xml of the form required from the entities in their current form (through the use of xml annotations or something)? I don't have any experience using JAXB but from the limited research I've done it doesn't seem like it's possible to reverse the direction of association in any straightforward way. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. One other option that has been suggested is to use XLST to transform the xml into the correct format. I have done no research on this topic as yet but I'll add to the question when I have some more info. Thanks, Matt.

  • #nav css affecting all elements in page.

    - by Sam Gabriel
    Hey guys I set up this CSS file to use on the navbar: #nav { background-color: #98bf21; } #nav li { float:left; } #nav li ul{ position: absolute; width: 172px; left: -999em; } #nav li:hover ul{ left: auto; } #nav a:link,a:visited { display:block; width:164px; font-weight:bold; color:white; background-color:#98bf21; text-align:center; padding:4px; text-decoration:none; text-transform:uppercase; } #nav a:hover,a:active { background-color: #7A991A; } And it seems to be affecting all the elements. For example all elements take the styles if the #nav a styles. Is there something I'm missing here? I'm new to web design.

  • Iterate through every node in a XML

    - by Rachel
    Hi I am trying to iterate through every node in a xml, be it the element node, text node or comment. With the below XSL in the very first statement prints the complete xml. How do i copy the very first node in $nodes and call the template process-nodes again removing teh first node in my next iteration? <xsl:stylesheet version="2.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"> <xsl:template match="/"> <xsl:call-template name="process-nodes"> <xsl:with-param name="nodes" select="//node()" as="node()*"/> </xsl:call-template> </xsl:template> <xsl:template name="process-nodes"> <xsl:param name="nodes" as="node()*" /> <xsl:copy-of select="$nodes[1]"/> <xsl:if test="$nodes"> <xsl:call-template name="process-nodes"> <xsl:with-param name="nodes" select="remove($nodes, 1)" /> </xsl:call-template> </xsl:if> </xsl:template> </xsl:stylesheet> Note: I am looking for fixing the issue in this kind of implementation rather than changing the template match to <xsl:template match="@* | node()"> as I need to have some processing which requires this approach. Thanks.

  • Add xml-stylesheet and get standalone = yes.

    - by tumba25
    The code at the bottom is what I have. I removed the creation of all tags. At the top in the xml file I get. Note that standalone is no, even thou I have it set to yes. The first question: How do I get standalone = yes? I would like to add  at line two in the xml file. Second question: How do I do that? Some useful links? Anything? DocumentBuilderFactory dbfac = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance(); DocumentBuilder docBuilder = dbfac.newDocumentBuilder(); Document doc = docBuilder.newDocument(); <cut> TransformerFactory transfac = TransformerFactory.newInstance(); transfac.setAttribute("indent-number", new Integer(2)); Transformer trans = transfac.newTransformer(); trans.setOutputProperty(OutputKeys.OMIT_XML_DECLARATION, "no"); trans.setOutputProperty(OutputKeys.STANDALONE, "yes"); trans.setOutputProperty(OutputKeys.INDENT, "yes"); trans.setOutputProperty(OutputKeys.CDATA_SECTION_ELEMENTS, "name"); FileOutputStream fout = new FileOutputStream(filepath); BufferedOutputStream bout= new BufferedOutputStream(fout); trans.transform(new DOMSource(doc), new StreamResult(new OutputStreamWriter(bout, "utf-8")));

  • XSLT: use parameters in xls:sort attributes (dynamic sorting)

    - by fireeyedboy
    How do I apply a parameter to a select and order attribute in a xsl:sort element? I'ld like to do this dynamic with PHP with something like this: $xsl = new XSLTProcessor(); $xslDoc = new DOMDocument(); $xslDoc->load( $this->_xslFilePath ); $xsl->importStyleSheet( $xslDoc ); $xsl->setParameter( '', 'sortBy', 'viewCount' ); $xsl->setParameter( '', 'order', 'descending' ); But I'ld first have to now how to get this to work. I tried the following, but it gives me a 'compilation error' : 'invalid value $order for order'. $sortBy doesn't seem to do anything either:  <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"> <xsl:output method="xml" indent="yes"/> <xsl:param name="sortBy" select="viewCount"/> <xsl:param name="order" select="descending"/> <xsl:template match="/"> <media> <xsl:for-each select="media/medium"> <xsl:sort select="$sortBy" order="$order"/> // <someoutput> </xsl:for-each> </media> </xsl:template> </xsl:stylesheet>

  • Firefox adding padding to first image in multiple images, although all images have same styling and size.

Here's the Mainstyles.css div.wcapt { border: 1px solid green; float: left; padding: 0; margin: 3px; font: 11px/1.4em Arial, sans-serif; color: gray; } img.pad { padding: 5px; } a.neutral { display: inline; font-weight: normal; text-transform: none; background-color: transparent; color: white; text-decoration: none; } The problem is that Firefox adds some extra padding to the first image, and only the first image. And this is really annoying. Here's a screenshot of the page:

  • How to encapsulate a third party complex object structure?

    - by tangens
    Motivation Currently I'm using the java parser japa to create an abstract syntax tree (AST) of a java file. With this AST I'm doing some code generation (e.g.: if there's an annotation on a method, create some other source files, ...) Problem When my code generation becomes more complex, I've to dive deeper into the structure of the AST (e.g. I have to use visitors to extract some type information of method parameters). But I'm not sure if I want to stay with japa or if I will change the parser library later. Because my code generator uses freemarker (which isn't good at automatic refactoring) I want the interface that it uses to access the AST information to be stable, even if I decide to change the java parser. Question What's the best way to encapsulate complex datastructures of third party libraries? I could create my own datatypes and copy the parts of the AST that I need into these. I could create lots of specialized access methods that work with the AST and create exactly the infos I need (e.g. the fully qualified return type of a method as one string, or the first template parameter of a class). I could create wrapper classes for the japa datastructures I currently need and embed the japa types inside, so that I can delegate requests to the japa types and transform the resulting japa types to my wrapper classes again. Which solution should I take? Are there other (better) solutions to this problem?

Do you know why the browser is ignoring the XSL stylesheet? Is the style sheet wrong? Thanks

  • ScaleTransform transforms non-linearly

    - by Chris
    I am using scale transform to allow a user to resize a control. What happens though is that when you start to move the mouse the control jumps to a new size, and then scales oddly. The further you move your mouse from the starting location the larger the increase in size becomes. I expect its the way I calculate the scale to be applied. Here is the code: private void ResizeGrip_MouseDown(object sender, MouseButtonEventArgs e) { ResizeHandle.CaptureMouse(); //Get the initial coordinate cursor location on the window initBtmX = e.GetPosition(this).X; bottomResize = true; } private void ResizeGrip_MouseUp(object sender, MouseButtonEventArgs e) { bottomResize = false; ResizeHandle.ReleaseMouseCapture(); } private void ResizeGrip_MouseMove(object sender, MouseEventArgs e) { if( bottomResize == true) { //Get the new Y coordinate cursor location double newBtmX = e.GetPosition(this).X; //Get the smallest change between the initial and new cursor location double diffX = initBtmX - newBtmX; // Let our rectangle capture the mouse ResizeHandle.CaptureMouse(); double newWidth = e.GetPosition(this).X - diffX; double scaler = newWidth / ResizeContainer.ActualWidth; Console.WriteLine("newWidth: {0}, scalar: {1}", newWidth, scaler); if (scaler < 0.75 || scaler > 3) return; ScaleTransform scale = new ScaleTransform(scaler, scaler); ResizeContainer.LayoutTransform = scale; } }

  • Technique for selectively formatting data in a PowerShell pipeline and output as HTML

    - by halr9000
    Say that you want to do some fancy formatting of some tabular output from powershell, and the destination is to be html (either for a webserver, or to be sent in an email). Let's say for example that you want certain numeric values to have a different background color. Whatever. I can think of two solid programmatic ways to accomplish this: output XML and transform with XSLT, or output HTML and decorate with CSS. XSLT is probably the harder of the two (I say that because I don't know it), but from what little I recall, it has the benefit of bring able to embed the selection criteria (xpath?) for aforementioned fancy formatting. CSS on the other hand needs a helping hand. If you wanted a certain cell to be treated specially, then you would need to distinguish it from its siblings with a class, id, or something along those lines. PowerShell doesn't really have a way to do that natively, so that would mean parsing the HTML as it leaves convertto-html and adding, for example, a "emphasis" class:
32MB
I don't like the idea of the required text parsing, especially given that I would rather be able to somehow emphasize what needs emphasizing in Powershell before it hits HTML. Is XSLT the best way? Have suggestions for how to markup the HTML after it leaves convertto-html or ideas of a different way?

  • CSS style submit like href tag

    - by seth.vargo
    Hi all, I have a button class that I wrote in CSS. It essentially displays block, adds some styles, etc. Whenever I add the class to a tags, it works fine - the a tag spans the entire width of its container like display:block should do... However, when I add the button class to an input button, Chrome, Safari, and Firefox all add a margin-right: 3px... I've used the DOM inspector in both Chrome and Safari and NO WHERE should it be adding a extra 3px padding. I tried adding margin: 0 !important; and/or margin-right: 0 !important to my button class in my CSS, but the browser STILL renders a 3px right margin! Is this a known issue, and is there a CSS-based solution (i.e. not jQuery/javascript) CODE FOLLOWS: .button { position: relative; display: block; margin: 0; border: 1px solid #369; color: #fff; font-weight: bold; padding: 11px 20px; line-height: 18px; text-align: center; text-transform: uppercase; cursor: hand; cursor: pointer; }

    I'll start with JS Fiddle: http://jsfiddle.net/zy2xy/4/

????????? I've got a whole page div #page, and inside that another div #container positioned absolute against #page. What I want to achieve, is to rotate image inside it 90deg, 180deg or 270deg but always move that image to top left corner of #container. I tried a little bit with transform-origin but I couldn't find any solution.

  • Big-O for calculating all routes from GPS data

    - by HH
    A non-critical GPS module use lists because it needs to be modifiable, new routes added, new distances calculated, continuos comparisons. Well so I thought but my team member wrote something I am very hard to get into. His pseudo code int k =0; a[][] <- create mapModuleNearbyDotList -array //CPU O(n) for(j = 1 to n) // O(nlog(m)) for(i =1 to n) for(k = 1 to n) if(dot is nearby) adj[i][j]=min(adj[i][j], adj[i][k] + adj[k][j]); His ideas transformations of lists to tables His worst case time complexity is O(n^3), where n is number of elements in his so-called table. Exception to the last point with Finite structure: O(mlog(n)) where n is number of vertices and m is the amount of neighbour vertices. Questions about his ideas why to waste resources to transform constantly-modified lists to table? Fast? only point where I to some extent agree but cannot understand the same upper limits n for each for-loops -- perhaps he supposed it circular why does the code take O(mlog(n)) to proceed in time as finite structure? The term finite may be wrong, explicit?
