• Installation of SAP Web Application Server 6.20 in Windows Vista

  I tried installing trial version of sap netweaver 7.1 in windows vista in my laptop but i couldnt succeed there.. then i tried installing SAP WEB AS 6.20 now.I am able to succeed till 91% completion.After that i get some errors and the installation stops... if anybody have any experiences please share.it will be really helpful.I mentioned the complete log details below. nfo: INSTGUI.EXE Protocol version is 10.   Hi, Just starting with ASP.Net MVC and have hit a bit of a snag regarding validation messages. I've a custom validation attribute assigned to my class validate several properties on my model. When this validation fails, we'd like the error message to contain XHTML mark-up, including a link to help page, (this was done in the original WebForms project as a ASP:Panel). At the moment the XHTML tags such as "< a ", in the ErrorMessage are being rendered to the screen. Is there any way to get the ValidationSummary to render the XHTML markup correctly? Or is there a better way to handle this kind of validation? Thanks

• How Do I 'git fetch' and 'git merge' from a Remote Tracking Branch (like 'git pull')

  I have set up some remote tracking branches in git, but I never seem to be able to merge them into the local branch once I have updated them with 'git fetch'. For example, suppose I have remote branch called 'an-other-branch'. I set that up locally as a tracking branch using git branch --track an-other-branch origin/an-other-branch So far, so good. But if that branch gets updated (usually by me moving machine and commiting from that machine), and I want to update it on the original machine, I'm running into trouble with fetch/merge: git fetch origin an-other-branch git merge origin/an-other-branch Whenever I do this, I get an 'Already up-to-date' message and nothing merges. However, a git pull origin an-other-branch always updates it like you would expect. Also, running git diff git diff origin/an-other-branch shows that there are differences, so I think I have my syntax wrong. What am I doing wrong?

  I have this seemingly-innocent code on my main JSF page: <a4j:outputPanel id="sidebarContainer"> <a4j:include viewId="#{UserSession.currentSidebar}"/> </a4j:outputPanel> Here is how the sidebar changes: A jsFunction calls a backing-bean method which sets the page (like "sidebar2.jsp") in UserSession The jsFunction has "rerender='sidebarContainer'", so that the correct page is loaded in the sidebar When the web application is initially started in JBoss 5, when I call the jsFunction to change pages, sidebar2 appears, but the original sidebar (sidebar1.jsp) appears below it. The sidebar switching works just fine after this initial wierdness. Any thoughts??

While I'm attaching the EntityRef<'s everything works as expected and my entities are updated to the database. But i have noticed that a problem occurs while trying to attach the EntitySet<'s. I dont use rowversion columns so I'm attaching for every entity on the EntitySet< using original values. Tried just attaching AttachAll() the EntitySet< with no luck and no exception too. There is no exception but the update is not really happening. What am i missing?

  I've been playing with OpenCL recently, and I'm able to write simple kernels that use only global memory. Now I'd like to start using local memory, but I can't seem to figure out how to use get_local_size() and get_local_id() to compute one "chunk" of output at a time. For example, let's say I wanted to convert Apple's OpenCL Hello World example kernel to something the uses local memory. How would you do it? Here's the original kernel source: __kernel square( __global float *input, __global float *output, const unsigned int count) { int i = get_global_id(0); if (i < count) output[i] = input[i] * input[i]; } If this example can't easily be converted into something that shows how to make use of local memory, any other simple example will do. • C# Dynamically created LinkButton Command Event Handler

  So I have a weird situation here... I have an System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebParts.EditorPart class. It renders a "Search" button, when you click this button, it's clickHandler method does a DB search, and dynamically creates a LinkButton for each row it returns, sets the CommandName and CommandArgument properties and adds a CommandEventHandler method, then adds the LinkButton control to the page. The problem is, when you click a LinkButton, its CommandEventHandler method is never called, it looks like the page just posts back to where it was before the ORIGINAL "Search" button was pressed. I have seen postings saying that you need to add the event handlers in OnLoad() or some other early method, but my LinkButtons haven't even been created until the user tells us what to search for and hits the "Search" button... Any ideas on how to deal with this? Thanks!

• css nth-child(2n+1) repaint css after filtering out list items

  I have a list of 20+ items. The background-color changes using the :nth-child(2n+1) selector. (ie. even item black, odd item white). When I click a button to filter out specific items using the jQuery Isotope plugin it adds a .isotope-hidden class to the items I want to filter out, which changes the position of the list item to 0,0 and opacity to 0. When this happens the remaining items are left with the original black/white background-colors, which are now no longer in order. Does anyone know a way to "repaint' the css using the :nth-child(2n+1) selector on the items that do not contain the .isotope-hidden class. I tried #element tr:not(.isotope-hidden):nth-child(2n+1) with no avail. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

• Urlrewriting.net pages are not causing postbacks

  I'm using webforms with UrlRewriting.Net to rewrite pages, e.g. http://www.example.com/stuff.aspx?c=30 becomes http://www.example.com/stuff/30-this-stuff.aspx. It works in so far as the correct content is loading; however, none of the postbacks are working (mostly buttons on the page). If I set up a breakpoint on Page_Load, I see that IsPostBack is always false. Any ideas on how to fix this? Right now I'm just on Visual Studio 2008. EDIT: I have since switched to UrlRewriter.Net, which worked after a few tweaks (see Scott Gu's article). Besides here, I have posted my original problem to the developer's forum: if I ever get an answer, I'll post it here (unless else posts it here first).

  I have got an(other) error while trying to upgrade our large project to SL4. I didn't write the original theme and my theme knowlege isn't great. • Delphi connection to OpenEdge Progress-4GL Database

  Folks: Has anyone had success connecting to a Progress-4GL database with Delphi?   I've been unable to establish any connection with the ODBC driver provided by the vendor (Progress OpenEdge 10.1C Driver). I've entered (what I believe are) the right parameters, but keep on getting an error whenever I test the connection: "[DataDirect][ODBC Progress OpenEdge Wire Protocol driver] Socket closed." Background: I've been tasked to re-design a 13-year-old application, but the original programmer did not provide any supporting documents, passwords, configuration setup, etc. (I'm on my own)!   To make things worse, online help and useful documentation about Progress is scarce (I had never heard about this database until now). I want to examine the existing data, maybe create an ERD to familiarize myself with the schema, but I can't even access the data outside of the OpenEdge code. Any help is appreciated!

• IE GIF/PNG Transparency issue with jQuery

  Ok, this is pretty weird... Here's the page in question: http://s289116086.onlinehome.us/lawjournaltv/index.php The main blue callout background was originally a PNG, but when I applied some jQuery trickery to it (click the numbers in the top right to see what I mean), an ugly white border appeared where the transparency should be. See this screenshot from IE8: http://skitch.com/darkdriving/n62bu/windows-xp-professional I figured I could sacrifice the quality/flexibility of a PNG and just resaved each of the backgrounds as GIFs and set the matte color to white (for now). Well, I was proven wrong because IE is treating the GIF transparency the same as the original PNGs. I've read here that the issue with PNGs, Javascript, and IE has something to do with multiple filters can't be applied to one image, but shouldn't GIFs be exempt from this because they lack the Alpha Channel? Is there any way to make this page look similar in IE to Firefox or Webkit browsers? Thanks in advance!

• DirectX application doesn't work over Remote Desktop

  I have a WPF application which has a DirectX component within it. This component does not work over Remote Desktop--it just shows a corrupted image. The application works fine when not using Remote Desktop. In trying to debug the problem I installed the February 2010 DirectX SDK. Now, when I run the program on the computer with the SDK and Remote Desktop to it from a separate computer, the component works just fine. However the opposite does not work--trying to use the application over Remote Desktop when it is running on the computer without the DirectX SDK (it has the original problem with the corrupted image). I have already compared the loaded DLLs (using Process Explorer) between running the application on my SDK machine and non-SDK machine. They both are loading the same DLL versions. What else could be causing this behavior?

• Can I ensure, using C#, that an X509Certificate was issued by a trusted authority?

  If I use X509Certificate.CreateFromSignedFile to get the certificate used to sign a file, can I confirm that it was signed by a trusted authority - and isn't just a "self-signed" cert of some kind? I want to extract the "Subject" (company) name from the cert to ensure that an unmanaged DLL I'm using is unmolested (I can't checksum it as it's updated frequently and independently) and official. However, I'm concerned that a fake DLL could be signed with a "self-signed" cert and return the original company's name. So, I want to ensure the the cert was issued by Versign, Thwate or similar (anything installed on the cert repository on the machine will be fine). How can I do this, if at all, when using X509Certificate.CreateFromSignedFile? Or does it do this automatically (i.e. a "self-signed" cert will fail)?

• fast, clean, C, timsort implementation?

  Does anyone know of a clean implementation of timsort? The Python sources contain a description and code for the original timsort, but it is understandably full of python-specific calls. I have a smoothly varying 2D array of double floats that I would like to sort as quickly as possible. It ought to contain a lot of monotonically increasing and decreasing runs. I'd like to try timsorting the rows individually, and then merging the sorted rows. If you know of a better sort technique, I'm open to suggestions. Thanks!
