  • Share the same subnet between Internal network and VPN Clients

    I would like to set up a configuration where VPN clients connecting to my Forefront TMG can access all the resources of my Internal network without having the to use the option "Use default gateway on remote network" on the VPN's TCP/IP Ipv4 Advanced Settings. This is important to me, since they can use their own internet while accessing my network through VPN (the security implications of this are acceptable on my cenario) My Internal network runs on 10.50.75.x, and I set up Forefront TMG to relay the DHCP of my Internal network to the VPN clients, so they get IPs from the same range as the Internal network. This setup initially works, and the VPN clients use their own internet, and can access anything that is on the internal network. However, after a while, HTTP Proxy Traffic from the Internal network starts getting routed to the IP of the RRAS Dial In Interface, instead of the IP of the Internal's network gateway. When this happens, the HTTP Proxy starts getting denied for obvious reasons. My first question is: does this happen because Forefront TMG wasn't designed to handle a cenario that I described above, and it "loses itself"? My second question is: Is there any way to solve this problem, either through configuration or firewall policies? My third question is: If there's no way that it can work with the cenario above, is there another cenario that will solve my problem, and do what I'd like it to do properly? Below are my network routes: 1 => Local Host Access => Route => Local Host => All Networks 2 => VPN Clients to Internal Network => Route => VPN Clients => Internal 3 => Internet Access => NAT => Internal, Perimeter, VPN Clients => External 4 => Internal to Perimeter => Route => Internal, VPN Clients => Perimeter Tks!

  • Change the starting day in Vista's Calendar Gadget

    I have a problem with the calendar gadget in Vista. The starting day is Sunday, but I would like to change it to Monday. I have checked some forums which points me in the direction that: Change the Regional Settings in ControlPanel to your local region Change the register key HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Control Panel/International/iFirstDayOfWeek to 0 Both of these are already correct, so it didn't help me.. Does anyone else have a suggestions?

    have a terminal server 2003 that about 50users can use, users are saving documents on the desktop, today users complain that documents on the desktop is missing, no upgrades or changes has been done the error is that the server reverted to load items the folder name "Desktop" instaed of using the local language "Skrivbord" (swedish for desktop) So the files are still on the server located under the users swedish folder name, but server does not load it, server however does load files located under the English folder name how can the terminal server from one day to another just change from where it loads the user profile desktop files?

    The NTPv3 RFC describes five operating modes: Symmetric Active (1): A host operating in this mode sends periodic messages regardless of the reachability state or stratum of its peer. Symmetric Passive (2): This type of association is ordinarily created upon arrival of a message from a peer operating in the symmetric active mode and persists only as long as the peer is reachable and operating at a stratum level less than or equal to the host; otherwise, the association is dissolved. However, the association will always persist until at least one message has been sent in reply. By operating in this mode the host announces its willingness to synchronize and be synchronized by the peer. Client (3): A host operating in this mode sends periodic messages regardless of the reachability state or stratum of its peer. By operating in this mode the host, usually a LAN workstation, announces its willingness to be synchronized by, but not to synchronize the peer. Server (4): This type of association is ordinarily created upon arrival of a client request message and exists only in order to reply to that request, after which the association is dissolved. By operating in this mode the host, usually a LAN time server, announces its willingness to synchronize, but not to be synchronized by the peer. It seems to me, though, that any host except a leaf node would probably be in several modes. For example, I might have a local area network with three NTP servers, each in Symmetric Active (1) mode with respect to one another. They would also each be clients (3) of one of the many public stratum two time servers. Lastly, they would all server as servers (4) to the many local clients. Is the point that they're only in a given mode for a moment during the synchronization? If so, how does a host know to switch? I'm only looking for enough depth here to discuss the issue in an educated manner, not to write a custom time server.

  • Word 2007 consistently crashes when I use my VPN

    Hi, My Office 2007 consistently crashes when I use it while connected to the VPN. This happens even with local files. When I try to paste stuff, it tries to connect to the printer (over VPN) and if I stop the process (which in itself blocks for about a minute), then Word 2007 is bound to crash a few seconds afterwords. My VPN is Check Point VPN-1 SecureClient Anyone knows what can be done with this problem?

    Our password policy makes users change pw every 30 days, when this happens they sometimes find they are logged on with a local profile and none of their settings. This generally only happens when the PC was slow at logging onto the network, but in this case I know it had plenty of time to do so. I can't work out why this is happening, is it related to a slow link?

  • Inbound connections to a ubuntu machine running a VPN

    Is it possible to open inbound connections to a machine connected to a VPN server? The machine is running ubuntu 9.10 with two network devices(a wireless card and ethernet port), I can connect to my machine locally using a local ip but when I try port forward using my router I can't connect from my external ip. Is there a way around this? I figure with 2 network devices I can vpn over one and use the other for inbound connections but I can't figure out how to do this. Thanks

I have Apache and Entropy php5 installed, when i write my applications, some pages wont run when php has errors, however these are not recorded on a log file, I created one php_errors.log and entered the following on the php.ini file error_log = /usr/local/php5/logs/php_errors.log However errors are not written to this file and i have log_errors = true What could be the problem

A little webserver running inside my software answering something like "this page is not whitelisted". It works when connected to the Internet but does not work when offline. The Browsers stop looking up the DNS. How could I make Browsers go to my page, whatever I enter in the address line, WHEN OFFLINE?

I know there is a way to do it in Windows 7 (in this question: Does Windows 7 support UTC as BIOS time?), but this solution makes my system unbootable. Windows expects the bios clock to be set to local time by default. In Windows 7 and before, there was a registry hack to change this behavior so that it could expect UTC – is there an equivalent in Windows 8?

    Does anyone know where plesk pulls its list of available shells under the domain setup page? I am on a box which is missing /bin/bash (chroot), though the majority of the system users on the machine have the shell: /usr/local/psa/bin/chrootsh On a redhat/centos machine, chrootsh is provided by the base psa package. I have also checked that chrootsh is specified in /etc/shells. I have poked around the psa database, but have not been able to ascertain where the drop down box is populated from.

  • Remove nesting "My Music" folder names in Windows 7.

    I was messing around with the Location tab in "properties" for "My Music" and ended up changing it a few times to directories on another drive. I quickly decided I didn't like the change and reverted it back. The My Music folder in my users directory is working fines but now my iTunes directory is labeled as "My Music" and the music directory within is called "My Music". Describing the issue simply: D:\iTunes\Music is labeled as Computer Local Disk(D:) My Music My Music Any suggestions on how to fix this would be appreciated.

  • Users take over a minute to log onto a 2008 windows server. LSM.exe running at 100MB+ memory.

    We've a 64bit Windows Server 2008 running Remote Desktop. The application lsm.exe (the local session manager) appears to be leaking memory. Although the memory usage is quite low when the server is rebooted, this continues to climb until people can no longer log in. The server has no audio card and does not have any AV software installed. The server is fully service packed. (Service pack 2) What could be causing this, and how would I fix it?

    I want to try mounting a folder with NFS - I set up the NFS sharing on a windows 2008 R2 server, specified hosts in the NFS permissions (by IP address) and mounted via /etc/fstab it mounts, but when I try to list the folder, I get 'input/output error' the owner/group on the local mount point look weird too? drwx------ 2 4294967294 4294967294 4096 2011-02-10 19:15 data/ I mounted in /etc/fstab as: 10.0.6.55:/share$ /media/data nfs soft,intr,rsize=8192,wsize=8192 What am I doing wrong?
