• Use of WebDAV to access OWA (exchange 2003) mails with Basic authentication and SSL

  I have got a working C# code for accessing OWA mails using WebDAV against a FBA enabled exchange 2003 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/891748/en-us/) But my client's OWA (exchange 2003) has Basic authentication and SSL (i-e when I try to access the web mail link through browser I get a grey login box instead of a web page I can log into the mail box once I enter the correct details) But my same fails with a 401 error against this mailbox. I got the simple request working for the Basic authentication using – String usernamePassword = strUserName + ":" + strPassword; WebReq.Headers.Add("Authorization", "Basic " + Convert.ToBase64String(new ASCIIEncoding().GetBytes(usernamePassword))); But the subsequent WebDAV SEARCH request fails with 404 (resource not found) error. Can we use WebDAV against an exchange 2k3 with SSL and Basic authentication?

  What languages other than C and C++ have explicit reference and pointer type qualifiers? People seem to be easily confused by the right-to-left reading order of types, where char*& is "a reference to a pointer to a character", or a "character-pointer reference"; do any languages with explicit references make use of a left-to-right reading order, such as &*char/ref ptr char? I'm working on a little language project, and legibility is one of my key concerns. It seems to me that this is one of those questions to which it's easy for a person but hard for a search engine to provide an answer. Thanks in advance!

  We're implementing a blog for a site which supports six different languages and five of them have non-Latin characters in their alphabets.   I have design a database. Theres no columns with indexing, nor any code for optimizing. I am positive i should index certain columns since i search them a lot. My question is HOW do i test if any part of my database will be slow? ATM I am using sqlite and i will be switching to either MS Sql or MySql based on my host provider. Will creating 100,000 records in each table be enough? Or will that always be fast in sqlite and i need to do 1mil? Do i need 10mil before a database will become slow? Also how do i time it? I am using C# so should i use StopWatch or is there a ADO.NET/Sqlite function i should use?

  Hello all, I am looking to do something really simple. Merely convert a string, such as 'december' into something I can use with MySQL (such as '12'). At the moment I use a dict, month_map = { 'december': '12', 'november': '11', 'october': '10', 'september': '09', 'august': '08', 'july': '07', 'june': '06', 'may': '05', 'april': '04', 'march': '03', 'february': '02', 'january': '01' } and then month_map.get('december'). Does any function already exist within the standard python modules that can achieve this? Apologies if this has already been asked.. the questions I have found using search seem a little different.

In another question, it was suggested that I rewrite this TVF into a stored procedure for it to return Fish objects only. Can someone help me do this please? Also, it needs to be ordered by Rank.   Hello! I am looking for a way to perform fulltext search on the DOM tree with JS. In two words, I would like to retrieve the list of text nodes which contain a given string. I've tried mootools' Element.getElements ( ':contains[string]' ) but I can't get it to work with strings containing whitespace. I'm thinking about simply indexing all text nodes and checking against each node for the string being searched for, but, in my project, there's no way of telling when the DOM updates in order to maintain such an index up-to-date. • Where to install shared DLLs on Windows

  I have a driver which can be installed on Windows (XP/Vista/7). It's accessed via a DLL that applications link to, and which is also a Winsock Provider (WSP). It used to be installed under System32, but having seen advice not to, I changed it to install under ProgramFiles instead. Now, the problem is that people are having to either copy it back into System32 or copy it into the application directory whenever they want to use it in their own applications, because Windows won't search the install directory under ProgramFiles when the application tries to load the DLL. I've been unable to find any Microsoft documentation discussing this issue, so if System32 shouldn't be used then where should shared DLLs be installed?

  I've been googling around, and I can't find the answer I'm looking for. Say I have a file, text1.txt, in directory mydir whose contents are: one two and another called text2.txt, also in mydir, whose contents are: two three four I'm trying to get a list of files (for a given directory) which contain all (not any) patterns I search for. In the example I provided, I'm looking for output somewhere along the lines of: ./text1.txt or ./text1.txt:one ./text1.txt:two The only things I've been able to find are concerning matching any patterns in a file, or matching multiple patterns in a single file (which I tried extending to a whole directory, but received grep usage errors). • Propor usage of double and single quotes?

  I'm talking about the performance increase here. From all I know you can echo variables in double quotes ("), like so: <?php echo "You are $yourAge years old"; ?> But single quotes will just return You are $yourAge years old. But what about performance differences? I've always gone by the rule that single quotes are faster because the PHP interpreter doesn't have to search through the string for variables. But I'm seeing more and more blog and forum posts on the web saying differently. Does anyone actually have any information on this subject? Perhaps benchmark tests or something? Cheers.

It also shows me the number of my PDF downloads, but it considers only those downloads where a user clicks on the link from my website. But what's with the "external" access to the PDFs (e.g., directly from Google search)? How I can count those? Is there any possibility to use a tool such as StatCounter? Thanks.

  Hello, I would like to start developing mobile-friendly versions of websites for my clients, however, I am baffled with options and google search wasn't very helpful - there is so many options and opinions, I've been reading for few days now and still have no idea how to start. What's your opinion/experience about/with it? My main points: mobile devices supported (in order of relevance): iPhone 3G, iPhone 2G, Blackberry, Droid powered mobiles, other phone friendly numbers, phone friendly emails contact/register form working on each (or the most possible) devices listed jQTouch seems superb (simple, quick, working), I'm not sure about it on blackberry/droid and I don't want to create 6 web versions for each mobile device - Makes even less sense if you consider, that I'm starting with small web (6-10 pages, 1 contact form, 3 register forms) to play with.   Usually when looking for some items not showing up in the other table, we can use: select * from gifts where giftID not in (select giftID from sentgifts); or select * from gifts where giftID not in (select distinct giftID from sentgifts); the second line is with "distinct" added, so that the resulting table is smaller, and probably let the search for "not in" faster too. So, won't using "distinct" be desirable? Often than not, I don't see it being used in the subquery in such a case. Is there advantage or disadvantage of using it? thanks.

  Hi. In a MySQL database I have documents of different type: some have text content, meta keys, descriptions, others have code, SKU number, size and brand name and so on. The problem is, I have to search something in all of these documents and then display a single page, where the results will be grouped by the document type, such as help page, blog post, item... It's not clear for me how to implement the Sphinx index: I want to have a single index to speed up queries, but since different docs have different structure - how can I group them? I was thinking about just concatenating them, but it just doesn't feel right.
