  • Netbeans platform projects - problems with wrapped jar files that have dependencies

    - by I82Much
    For starters, this question is not so much about programming in the NetBeans IDE as developing a NetBeans project (e.g. using the NetBeans Platform framework). I am attempting to use the BeanUtils library to introspect my domain models and provide the properties to display in a property sheet. Sample code: public class MyNode extends AbstractNode implements PropertyChangeListener { private static final PropertyUtilsBean bean = new PropertyUtilsBean(); // snip protected Sheet createSheet() { Sheet sheet = Sheet.createDefault(); Sheet.Set set = Sheet.createPropertiesSet(); APIObject obj = getLookup().lookup (APIObject.class); PropertyDescriptor[] descriptors = bean.getPropertyDescriptors(obj); for (PropertyDescriptor d : descriptors) { Method readMethod = d.getReadMethod(); Method writeMethod = d.getWriteMethod(); Class valueType = d.getClass(); Property p = new PropertySupport.Reflection(obj, valueType, readMethod, writeMethod); set.put(p); } sheet.put(set); return sheet; } I have created a wrapper module around commons-beanutils-1.8.3.jar, and added a dependency on the module in my module containing the above code. Everything compiles fine. When I attempt to run the program and open the property sheet view (i.e.. the above code actually gets run), I get the following error: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.apache.commons.logging.LogFactory at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:200) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:188) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:319) at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Launcher.java:330) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:254) at org.netbeans.ProxyClassLoader.loadClass(ProxyClassLoader.java:259) Caused: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.apache.commons.logging.LogFactory starting from ModuleCL@64e48e45[org.apache.commons.beanutils] with possible defining loaders [ModuleCL@75da931b[org.netbeans.libs.commons_logging]] and declared parents [] at org.netbeans.ProxyClassLoader.loadClass(ProxyClassLoader.java:261) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:254) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClassInternal(ClassLoader.java:399) Caused: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/commons/logging/LogFactory at org.apache.commons.beanutils.PropertyUtilsBean.<init>(PropertyUtilsBean.java:132) at org.myorg.myeditor.MyNode.<clinit>(MyNode.java:35) at org.myorg.myeditor.MyEditor.<init>(MyEditor.java:33) at org.myorg.myeditor.OpenEditorAction.actionPerformed(OpenEditorAction.java:13) at org.openide.awt.AlwaysEnabledAction$1.run(AlwaysEnabledAction.java:139) at org.netbeans.modules.openide.util.ActionsBridge.implPerformAction(ActionsBridge.java:83) at org.netbeans.modules.openide.util.ActionsBridge.doPerformAction(ActionsBridge.java:67) at org.openide.awt.AlwaysEnabledAction.actionPerformed(AlwaysEnabledAction.java:142) at javax.swing.AbstractButton.fireActionPerformed(AbstractButton.java:2028) at javax.swing.AbstractButton$Handler.actionPerformed(AbstractButton.java:2351) at javax.swing.DefaultButtonModel.fireActionPerformed(DefaultButtonModel.java:387) at javax.swing.DefaultButtonModel.setPressed(DefaultButtonModel.java:242) at javax.swing.AbstractButton.doClick(AbstractButton.java:389) at com.apple.laf.ScreenMenuItem.actionPerformed(ScreenMenuItem.java:95) at java.awt.MenuItem.processActionEvent(MenuItem.java:627) at java.awt.MenuItem.processEvent(MenuItem.java:586) at java.awt.MenuComponent.dispatchEventImpl(MenuComponent.java:317) at java.awt.MenuComponent.dispatchEvent(MenuComponent.java:305) [catch] at java.awt.EventQueue.dispatchEvent(EventQueue.java:638) at org.netbeans.core.TimableEventQueue.dispatchEvent(TimableEventQueue.java:125) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpOneEventForFilters(EventDispatchThread.java:296) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEventsForFilter(EventDispatchThread.java:211) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEventsForHierarchy(EventDispatchThread.java:201) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEvents(EventDispatchThread.java:196) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEvents(EventDispatchThread.java:188) at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.run(EventDispatchThread.java:122) I understand that beanutils is using the commons-logging component. I have tried adding the commons-logging component in two different ways (creating a wrapper library around the commons-logging library, and putting a dependency on the Commons Logging Integration library). Neither solves the problem. I noticed that the same problem occurs with other wrapped libraries; if they themselves have external dependencies, the ClassNotFoundExceptions propagate like mad, even if I've wrapped the jars of the libraries they require and added them as dependencies to the original wrapped library module. Pictorially: I'm at my wits end here. I noticed similar problems while googling: Is there a known bug on NB Module dependency Same issue I'm facing but when wrapping a different jar NetBeans stance on this - none of the 3 apply to me. None conclusively help me. Thank you, Nick

  • rendering a grid from a table: "this.mainBody is undefined"

    - by farhad
    Hello! I have a static html table on a page and i would like to transform it to a grid; so i applied this function after loading the table: function createTable() { // create the grid var grid = new Ext.ux.grid.TableGrid("tabella-colocazioni", { stripeRows: true // stripe alternate rows }); grid.render(); } I got this piece of code from here: http://www.java2s.com/Code/JavaScript/Ext-JS/CreateagridwithfromanexistingunformattedHTMLtable.htm . The result is the error "this.mainBody is undefined on ext-all-debug.js" on FireBug and the grid is empty. The html code of the table is this: <table cellspacing="0" id="tabella-colocazioni"> <thead> <tr style="background:#eeeeee;"> <th>Colocazione</th> <th>Frequenza</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <tr> <td>plusquam patria</td> <td>1</td> </tr> <tr> <td>patria pietate</td> <td>1</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Et patria</td> <td>1</td> </tr> <tr> <td>patria prohibet</td> <td>1</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Multos patria</td> <td>1</td> </tr> <tr> <td>patria reddidit</td> <td>1</td> </tr> <tr> <td>patronum patria</td> <td>1</td> </tr> <tr> <td>patria moesta</td> <td>1</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> What is the problem? Thank you very much.

  • HttpWebRequest: How to find a postal code at Canada Post through a WebRequest with x-www-form-enclos

    - by Will Marcouiller
    I'm currently writing some tests so that I may improve my skills with the Internet interaction through Windows Forms. One of those tests is to find a postal code which should be returned by Canada Post website. My default URL setting is set to: http://www.canadapost.ca/cpotools/apps/fpc/personal/findByCity?execution=e4s1 The required form fields are: streetNumber, streetName, city, province The contentType is "application/x-www-form-enclosed" EDIT: Please consider the value "application/x-www-form-encoded" instead of point 3 value as the contentType. (Thanks EricLaw-MSFT!) The result I get is not the result expected. I get the HTML source code of the page where I could manually enter the information to find the postal code, but not the HTML source code with the found postal code. Any idea of what I'm doing wrong? Shall I consider going the XML way? Is it first of all possible to search on Canada Post anonymously? Here's a code sample for better description: public static string FindPostalCode(ICanadadianAddress address) { var postData = string.Concat(string.Format("&streetNumber={0}", address.StreetNumber) , string.Format("&streetName={0}", address.StreetName) , string.Format("&city={0}", address.City) , string.Format("&province={0}", address.Province)); var encoding = new ASCIIEncoding(); byte[] postDataBytes = encoding.GetBytes(postData); request = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create(DefaultUrlSettings); request.ImpersonationLevel = System.Security.Principal.TokenImpersonationLevel.Anonymous; request.Container = new CookieContainer(); request.Timeout = 10000; request.ContentType = contentType; request.ContentLength = postDataBytes.LongLength; request.Method = @"post"; var senderStream = new StreamWriter(request.GetRequestStream()); senderStream.Write(postDataBytes, 0, postDataBytes.Length); senderStream.Close(); string htmlResponse = new StreamReader(request.GetResponse().GetResponseStream()).ReadToEnd(); return processedResult(htmlResponse); // Processing the HTML source code parsing, etc. } I seem stuck in a bottle neck in my point of view. I find no way out to the desired result. EDIT: There seems to have to parameters as for the ContentType of this site. Let me explain. There's one with the "meta"-variables which stipulates the following: meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="application/xhtml+xml, text/xml, text/html; charset=utf-8" And another one later down the code that is read as: form id="fpcByAdvancedSearch:fpcSearch" name="fpcByAdvancedSearch:fpcSearch" method="post" action="/cpotools/apps/fpc/personal/findByCity?execution=e1s1" enctype="application/x-www-form-urlencoded" My question is the following: With which one do I have to stick? Let me guess, the first ContentType is to be considered as the second is only for another request to a function or so when the data is posted? EDIT: As per request, the closer to the solution I am is listed under this question: WebRequest: How to find a postal code using a WebRequest against this ContentType=”application/xhtml+xml, text/xml, text/html; charset=utf-8”? Thanks for any help! :-)

  • Simple Observation in Django: How Can I Correctly Modify The `attrs` sent to __new__ of a Django Mod

    - by DGGenuine
    Hello, I'm a strong proponent of the observer pattern, and this is what I'd like to be able to do in my Django models.py: class AModel(Model): __metaclass__ = SomethingMagical @post_save(AnotherModel) @classmethod def observe_another_model_saved(klass, sender, instance, created, **kwargs): pass @pre_init('YetAnotherModel') @classmethod def observe_yet_another_model_initializing(klass, sender, *args, **kwargs): pass @post_delete('DifferentApp.SomeModel') @classmethod def observe_some_model_deleted(klass, sender, **kwargs): pass This would connect a signal with sender = the decorator's argument and receiver = the decorated method. Right now my signal connection code all exists in __init__.py which is okay, but a little unmaintainable. I want this code all in one place, the models.py file. Thanks to helpful feedback from the community I'm very close (I think.) (I'm using a metaclass solution instead of the class decorator solution in the previous question/answer because you can't set attributes on classmethods, which I need.) I am having a strange error I don't understand. At the end of my post are the contents of a models.py that you can pop into a fresh project/application to see the error. Set your database to sqlite and add the application to installed apps. This is the error: Validating models... Unhandled exception in thread started by Traceback (most recent call last): File "/Library/Python/2.6/site-packages//lib/python2.6/site-packages/django/core/management/commands/runserver.py", line 48, in inner_run File "/Library/Python/2.6/site-packages/django/core/management/base.py", line 253, in validate raise CommandError("One or more models did not validate:\n%s" % error_text) django.core.management.base.CommandError: One or more models did not validate: local.myothermodel: 'my_model' has a relation with model MyModel, which has either not been installed or is abstract. I've indicated a few different things you can comment in/out to fix the error. First, if you don't modify the attrs sent to the metaclass's __new__, then the error does not arise. (Note even if you copy the dictionary element by element into a new dictionary, it still fails; only using the exact attrs dictionary works.) Second, if you reference the first model by class rather than by string, the error also doesn't arise regardless of what you do in __new__. I appreciate your help. I'll be githubbing the solution if and when it works. Maybe other people would enjoy a simplified way to use Django signals to observe application happenings. #models.py from django.db import models from django.db.models.base import ModelBase from django.db.models import signals import pdb class UnconnectedMethodWrapper(object): sender = None method = None signal = None def __init__(self, signal, sender, method): self.signal = signal self.sender = sender self.method = method def post_save(sender): return _make_decorator(signals.post_save, sender) def _make_decorator(signal, sender): def decorator(view): return UnconnectedMethodWrapper(signal, sender, view) return decorator class ConnectableModel(ModelBase): """ A meta class for any class that will have static or class methods that need to be connected to signals. • The HTML5 doctype is not triggering standards mode in IE8

    - by El Guapo
    i work for a company where all our sites currently use the XHTML 1.0 transitional doctype (yes i know it is very old school). I want to change them all to use the HTML5 doctype seeing as it is backwards compatible. One of the reasons why i want to make the switch is because in IE8 if someone has the developer tools installed then the old XHTML doctype switches the browser into compatibility mode and renders the page as IE7. From reading up on it i was led to believe that the HTML5 doctype will set any page to render in standards mode, but this is not happening when i test it on our staging server it still flips into IE7 rendering mode. The weird thing is if i save the page with HTML5 doctype locally and open it, it is rendering in IE8 standards mode. There must be something else causing it to drop into compatibility IE7 rendering. Any ideas what this could be? Below is the head of the test page i have been looking at: <!DOCTYPE html > <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xmlns:og="http://opengraphprotocol.org/schema/" xmlns:fb="http://www.facebook.com/2008/fbml"> <head> <title>Burton - Mens Clothing - Mens Fashion - Burton Menswear</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <meta name="description" content="Burton is one of the UK's leading men's clothing &amp; fashion retailers, with a range of men's clothing designed to make you look &amp; feel good. • WCF endpoint exception

    - by Lijo
    Hi Team, I am just trying with various WCF(in .Net 3.0) scenarios. I am using self hosting. I am getting an exception as "Service 'MyServiceLibrary.NameDecorator' has zero application (non-infrastructure) endpoints. This might be because no configuration file was found for your application, or because no service element matching the service name could be found in the configuration file, or because no endpoints were defined in the service element." I have a config file as follows (which has an endpoint) <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <configuration> <system.serviceModel> <services> <service name="Lijo.Samples.NameDecorator" behaviorConfiguration="WeatherServiceBehavior"> <host> <baseAddresses> <add baseAddress="http://localhost:8010/ServiceModelSamples/FreeServiceWorld"/> </baseAddresses> </host> <endpoint address="" binding="wsHttpBinding" contract="Lijo.Samples.IElementaryService" /> <endpoint address="mex" binding="mexHttpBinding" contract="IMetadataExchange" /> </service> </services> <behaviors> <serviceBehaviors> <behavior name="WeatherServiceBehavior"> <serviceMetadata httpGetEnabled="true"/> <serviceDebug includeExceptionDetailInFaults="False"/> </behavior> </serviceBehaviors> </behaviors> </system.serviceModel> </configuration> And a Host as using System.ServiceModel; using System.ServiceModel.Dispatcher; using System.ServiceModel.Channels; using System.ServiceModel.Description; using System.Runtime.Serialization; namespace MySelfHostConsoleApp { class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { System.ServiceModel.ServiceHost myHost = new ServiceHost(typeof(MyServiceLibrary.NameDecorator)); myHost.Open(); Console.ReadLine(); } } } My Service is as follows using System.ServiceModel; using System.Runtime.Serialization; namespace MyServiceLibrary { [ServiceContract(Namespace = "http://Lijo.Samples")] public interface IElementaryService { [OperationContract] CompanyLogo GetLogo(); } public class NameDecorator : IElementaryService { public CompanyLogo GetLogo() { CircleType cirlce = new CircleType(); CompanyLogo logo = new CompanyLogo(cirlce); return logo; } } [DataContract] public abstract class IShape { public abstract string SelfExplain(); } [DataContract(Name = "Circle")] public class CircleType : IShape { public override string SelfExplain() { return "I am a Circle"; } } [DataContract(Name = "Triangle")] public class TriangleType : IShape { public override string SelfExplain() { return "I am a Triangle"; } } [DataContract] [KnownType(typeof(CircleType))] [KnownType(typeof(TriangleType))] public class CompanyLogo { private IShape m_shapeOfLogo; [DataMember] public IShape ShapeOfLogo { get { return m_shapeOfLogo; } set { m_shapeOfLogo = value; } } public CompanyLogo(IShape shape) { m_shapeOfLogo = shape; } } } Could you please help me to understand what I am missing here? I need to use the image saved and upload it into my coverflow // IF METHOD TO DOWNLOAD IMAGE void downloadFile() { new Thread(new Runnable(){ // RUN IN BACKGROUND THREAD TO AVOID FREEZING OF UI public void run(){ Bitmap bmImg; URL myFileUrl = null; try { //for (int i = 0; i < urlList.size(); i ++) //{ //url = urlList.get(i); myFileUrl = new URL("http://static.adzerk.net/Advertisers/d18eea9d28f3490b8dcbfa9e38f8336e.jpg"); // RETRIEVE IMAGE URL //} } catch (MalformedURLException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } try { HttpURLConnection conn = (HttpURLConnection) myFileUrl.openConnection(); conn.setDoInput(true); conn.connect(); InputStream in = conn.getInputStream(); Log.i("im connected", "Download"); bmImg = BitmapFactory.decodeStream(in); saveFile(bmImg); } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); }} }).start(); // START THREAD } // SAVE THE IMAGE AS JPG FILE private void saveFile(Bitmap bmImg) { File filename; try { // GET EXTERNAL STORAGE, SAVE FILE THERE File storagePath = new File(Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory(),"Covers"); storagePath.mkdirs(); filename = new File(storagePath + "/image.jpg"); FileOutputStream out = new FileOutputStream(filename); bmImg.compress(Bitmap.CompressFormat.JPEG, 90, out); out.flush(); out.close(); MediaStore.Images.Media.insertImage(getContentResolver(),filename.getAbsolutePath(), filename.getName(), filename.getName()); // ONCE THE DOWNLOAD FINISHES, CLOSE DIALOG Toast.makeText(getApplicationContext(), "Image Saved!", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); } catch (Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); } }

  • Help with dynamic range compression function (audio)

    - by MusiGenesis
    I am writing a C# function for doing dynamic range compression (an audio effect that basically squashes transient peaks and amplifies everything else to produce an overall louder sound). I have written a function that does this (I think): public static void Compress(ref short[] input, double thresholdDb, double ratio) { double maxDb = thresholdDb - (thresholdDb / ratio); double maxGain = Math.Pow(10, -maxDb / 20.0); for (int i = 0; i < input.Length; i += 2) { // convert sample values to ABS gain and store original signs int signL = input[i] < 0 ? -1 : 1; double valL = (double)input[i] / 32768.0; if (valL < 0.0) { valL = -valL; } int signR = input[i + 1] < 0 ? -1 : 1; double valR = (double)input[i + 1] / 32768.0; if (valR < 0.0) { valR = -valR; } // calculate mono value and compress double val = (valL + valR) * 0.5; double posDb = -Math.Log10(val) * 20.0; if (posDb < thresholdDb) { posDb = thresholdDb - ((thresholdDb - posDb) / ratio); } // measure L and R sample values relative to mono value double multL = valL / val; double multR = valR / val; // convert compressed db value to gain and amplify val = Math.Pow(10, -posDb / 20.0); val = val / maxGain; // re-calculate L and R gain values relative to compressed/amplified // mono value valL = val * multL; valR = val * multR; double lim = 1.5; // determined by experimentation, with the goal // being that the lines below should never (or rarely) be hit if (valL > lim) { valL = lim; } if (valR > lim) { valR = lim; } double maxval = 32000.0 / lim; // convert gain values back to sample values input[i] = (short)(valL * maxval); input[i] *= (short)signL; input[i + 1] = (short)(valR * maxval); input[i + 1] *= (short)signR; } } and I am calling it with threshold values between 10.0 db and 30.0 db and ratios between 1.5 and 4.0. This function definitely produces a louder overall sound, but with an unacceptable level of distortion, even at low threshold values and low ratios. Can anybody see anything wrong with this function? Am I handling the stereo aspect correctly (the function assumes stereo input)? As I (dimly) understand things, I don't want to compress the two channels separately, so my code is attempting to compress a "virtual" mono sample value and then apply the same degree of compression to the L and R sample value separately. Not sure I'm doing it right, however. I think part of the problem may the "hard knee" of my function, which kicks in the compression abruptly when the threshold is crossed. I think I may need to use a "soft knee" like this: Can anybody suggest a modification to my function to produce the soft knee curve?

  • I am getting error when using Attributes in Rcpp and have RcppArmadillo code

    - by howard123
    I am trying to create a package with RcppArmadillo. The code uses the new attributes methodology of Rcpp. The sourceCpp works fine and compiles the code, but when I build a package I get errors when I use RcppArmadillo code. Without the RcppArmadillo code and using regulare C++, I do not get these errors. The C++ code (it is essentially the fastLm sample code) is: // [[Rcpp::depends(RcppArmadillo)]] #include <Rcpp.h> #include <RcppArmadillo.h> using namespace Rcpp; // [[Rcpp::depends(RcppArmadillo)]] #include <RcppArmadillo.h> // [[Rcpp::export]] List fastLm(NumericVector yr, NumericMatrix Xr) { int n = Xr.nrow(), k = Xr.ncol(); arma::mat X(Xr.begin(), n, k, false); arma::colvec y(yr.begin(), yr.size(), false); arma::colvec coef = arma::solve(X, y); arma::colvec resid = y - X*coef; double sig2 = arma::as_scalar(arma::trans(resid)*resid/(n-k)); arma::colvec stderrest = arma::sqrt( sig2 * arma::diagvec( arma::inv(arma::trans(X)*X)) ); return List::create(Named("coefficients") = coef, Named("stderr") = stderrest); } Here is the compilation error, after I execute "R   • Apple push Notification Feedback service Not working

    - by Yassmeen
    Hi, I am developing an iPhone App that uses Apple Push Notifications. On the iPhone side everything is fine, on the server side I have a problem. Notifications are sent correctly however when I try to query the feedback service to obtain a list of devices from which the App has been uninstalled, I always get zero results. I know that I should obtain one result as the App has been uninstalled from one of my test devices. After 24 hours and more I still have no results from the feedback service.. Any ideas? Does anybody know how long it takes for the feedback service to recognize that my App has been uninstalled from my test device? Note: I have another push notification applications on the device so I know that my app is not the only app. The code - C#: public static string CheckFeedbackService(string certaName, string hostName) { SYLogger.Log("Check Feedback Service Started"); ServicePointManager.ServerCertificateValidationCallback = new RemoteCertificateValidationCallback(ValidateServerCertificate); // Create a TCP socket connection to the Apple server on port 2196 TcpClient tcpClientF = null; SslStream sslStreamF = null; string result = string.Empty; //Contect to APNS& Add the Apple cert to our collection X509Certificate2Collection certs = new X509Certificate2Collection { GetServerCert(certaName) }; //Set up byte[] buffer = new byte[38]; int recd = 0; DateTime minTimestamp = DateTime.Now.AddYears(-1); // Create a TCP socket connection to the Apple server on port 2196 try { using (tcpClientF = new TcpClient(hostName, 2196)) { SYLogger.Log("Client Connected ::" + tcpClientF.Connected); // Create a new SSL stream over the connection sslStreamF = new SslStream(tcpClientF.GetStream(), true,ValidateServerCertificate); // Authenticate using the Apple cert sslStreamF.AuthenticateAsClient(hostName, certs, SslProtocols.Default, false); SYLogger.Log("Stream Readable ::" + sslStreamF.CanRead); SYLogger.Log("Host Name ::"+hostName); SYLogger.Log("Cert Name ::" + certs[0].FriendlyName); if (sslStreamF != null) { SYLogger.Log("Connection Started"); //Get the first feedback recd = sslStreamF.Read(buffer, 0, buffer.Length); SYLogger.Log("Buffer length ::" + recd); //Continue while we have results and are not disposing while (recd > 0) { SYLogger.Log("Reading Started"); //Get our seconds since 1970 ? byte[] bSeconds = new byte[4]; byte[] bDeviceToken = new byte[32]; Array.Copy(buffer, 0, bSeconds, 0, 4); //Check endianness if (BitConverter.IsLittleEndian) Array.Reverse(bSeconds); int tSeconds = BitConverter.ToInt32(bSeconds, 0); //Add seconds since 1970 to that date, in UTC and then get it locally var Timestamp = new DateTime(1970, 1, 1, 0, 0, 0, DateTimeKind.Utc).AddSeconds(tSeconds).ToLocalTime(); //Now copy out the device token Array.Copy(buffer, 6, bDeviceToken, 0, 32); string deviceToken = BitConverter.ToString(bDeviceToken).Replace("-", "").ToLower().Trim(); //Make sure we have a good feedback tuple if (deviceToken.Length == 64 && Timestamp > minTimestamp) { SYLogger.Log("Feedback " + deviceToken); result = deviceToken; } //Clear array to reuse it Array.Clear(buffer, 0, buffer.Length); //Read the next feedback recd = sslStreamF.Read(buffer, 0, buffer.Length); } SYLogger.Log("Reading Ended"); } } } catch (Exception e) { SYLogger.Log("Authentication failed - closing the connection::" + e); return "NOAUTH"; } finally { // The client stream will be closed with the sslStream // because we specified this behavior when creating the sslStream. if (sslStreamF != null) sslStreamF.Close(); if (tcpClientF != null) tcpClientF.Close(); //Clear array on error Array.Clear(buffer, 0, buffer.Length); } SYLogger.Log("Feedback ended "); return result; }

  • WFP: How do you properly Bind a DependencyProperty to the GUI

    - by Robert Ross
    I have the following class (abreviated for simplicity). The app it multi-threaded so the Set and Get are a bit more complicated but should be ok. namespace News.RSS { public class FeedEngine : DependencyObject { public static readonly DependencyProperty _processing = DependencyProperty.Register("Processing", typeof(bool), typeof(FeedEngine), new FrameworkPropertyMetadata(true, FrameworkPropertyMetadataOptions.AffectsRender)); public bool Processing { get { return (bool)this.Dispatcher.Invoke( DispatcherPriority.Normal, (DispatcherOperationCallback)delegate { return GetValue(_processing); }, Processing); } set { this.Dispatcher.BeginInvoke(DispatcherPriority.Normal, (SendOrPostCallback)delegate { SetValue(_processing, value); }, value); } } public void Poll() { while (Running) { Processing = true; //Do my work to read the data feed from remote source Processing = false; Thread.Sleep(PollRate); } // } } } Next I have my main form as the following: <Window x:Class="News.Main" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:converter="clr-namespace:News.Converters" xmlns:local="clr-namespace:News.Lookup" xmlns:rss="clr-namespace:News.RSS" Title="News" Height="521" Width="927" Initialized="Window_Initialized" Closing="Window_Closing" > <Window.Resources> <ResourceDictionary> <converter:BooleanConverter x:Key="boolConverter" /> <converter:ArithmeticConverter x:Key="arithConverter" /> ... </ResourceDictionary> </Window.Resources> <DockPanel Name="dockPanel1" SnapsToDevicePixels="False" > <ToolBarPanel Height="37" Name="toolBarPanel" Orientation="Horizontal" DockPanel.Dock="Top" > <ToolBarPanel.Children> <Button DataContext="{DynamicResource FeedEngine}" HorizontalAlignment="Right" Name="btnSearch" ToolTip="Search" Click="btnSearch_Click" IsEnabled="{Binding Path=Processing, Converter={StaticResource boolConverter}}"> <Image Width="32" Height="32" Name="imgSearch" Source="{Resx ResxName=News.Properties.Resources, Key=Search}" /> </Button> ... </DockPanel> </Window> As you can see I set the DataContext to FeedEngine and Bind IsEnabled to Processing. I have also tested the boolConverter separately and it functions (just applies ! (Not) to a bool). Here is my Main window code behind in case it helps to debug. namespace News { /// <summary> /// Interaction logic for Main.xaml /// </summary> public partial class Main : Window { public FeedEngine _engine; List<NewsItemControl> _newsItems = new List<NewsItemControl>(); Thread _pollingThread; public Main() { InitializeComponent(); this.Show(); } private void Window_Initialized(object sender, EventArgs e) { // Load current Feed data. _engine = new FeedEngine(); ThreadStart start = new ThreadStart(_engine.Poll); _pollingThread = new Thread(start); _pollingThread.Start(); } } } Hope someone can see where I missed a step. Thanks.

    I want to the user to be able to search for a record in a DB. The fetch and the results returned work perfectly. I am having a hard time setting the UItableview to display the result tho. • using java Calendar

    - by owca
    I have a simple task. There are two classes : Ticket and Date. Ticket contains event, event place and event date which is a Date object. I also need to provide a move() method for Date object, so I used Calendar and Calendar's add(). Everything looks fine apart of the output. I constantly get 5,2,1 as the date's day,month,year. Lines with asterix return proper date. The code : Ticket class : public class Ticket { private String what; private String where; private Date when; public Ticket(String s1, String s2, Data d){ this.what = s1; this.where = s2; this.when = d; } *public Date giveDate(){ System.out.println("when in giveDate() "+this.when); return this.when; } public String toString(){ return "what: "+this.what+"\n"+"where: "+this.where+"\n"+"when: "+this.when; } } Date class: import java.util.Calendar; import java.util.GregorianCalendar; public class Date { public int day; public int month; public int year; public Date(int x, int y, int z){ *System.out.println("x: "+x); *System.out.println("y: "+y); *System.out.println("z: "+z); this.day = x; this.month = y; this.year = z; *System.out.println("this.day: "+this.day); *System.out.println("this.month: "+this.month); *System.out.println("this.year: "+this.year); } public Date move(int p){ *System.out.println("before_change: "+this.day+","+this.month+","+this.year); Calendar gc = new GregorianCalendar(this.year, this.month, this.day); System.out.println("before_adding: "+gc.DAY_OF_MONTH+","+gc.MONTH+","+gc.YEAR); gc.add(Calendar.DAY_OF_YEAR, p); System.out.println("after_adding: "+gc.DAY_OF_MONTH+","+gc.MONTH+","+gc.YEAR); this.year = gc.YEAR; this.day = gc.DAY_OF_MONTH; this.month = gc.MONTH; return this; } @Override public String toString(){ return this.day+","+this.month+","+this.year; } } Main for testing : public class Main { public static void main(String[] args) { Date date1=new Date(30,4,2002); Ticket event1=new Ticket("Peter Gabriel's gig", "London",date1 ); Ticket event2=new Ticket("Diana Kroll's concert", "Glasgow",date1 ); Date date2=event2.giveDate(); date2.move(30); Ticket event3=new Ticket("X's B-day", "some place",date2 ); System.out.println(date1); System.out.println(event1); System.out.println(event2); System.out.println(event3); } } And here's my output. I just can't get it where 5,2,1 come from :/ x: 30 y: 4 z: 2002 this.day: 30 this.month: 4 this.year: 2002 when in giveDate() 6,12,2004 before_change: 6,12,2004 before_adding: 5,2,1 after_adding: 5,2,1 5,2,1 what: Peter Gabriel's gig where: London when: 5,2,1 (...)

  • How to solve a deallocated connection in iPhone SDK 3.1.3? - Streams - CFSockets

    - by Christian
    Hi everyone, Debugging my implementation I found a memory leak issue. I know where is the issue, I tried to solve it but sadly without success. I will try to explain you, maybe someone of you can help with this. First I have two classes involved in the issue, the publish class (where publishing the service and socket configuration is done) and the connection (where the socket binding and the streams configuration is done). The main issue is in the connection via native socket. In the 'publish' class the "server" accepts a connection with a callback. The callback has the native-socket information. Then, a connection with native-socket information is created. Next, the socket binding and the streams configuration is done. When those actions are successful the instance of the connection is saved in a mutable array. Thus, the connection is established. static void AcceptCallback(CFSocketRef socket, CFSocketCallBackType type, CFDataRef address, const void *data, void *info) { Publish *rePoint = (Publish *)info; if ( type != kCFSocketAcceptCallBack) { return; } CFSocketNativeHandle nativeSocketHandle = *((CFSocketNativeHandle *)data); NSLog(@"The AcceptCallback was called, a connection request arrived to the server"); [rePoint handleNewNativeSocket:nativeSocketHandle]; } - (void)handleNewNativeSocket:(CFSocketNativeHandle)nativeSocketHandle{ Connection *connection = [[[Connection alloc] initWithNativeSocketHandle:nativeSocketHandle] autorelease]; // Create the connection if (connection == nil) { close(nativeSocketHandle); return; } NSLog(@"The connection from the server was created now try to connect"); if ( ! [connection connect]) { [connection close]; return; } [clients addObject:connection]; //save the connection trying to avoid the deallocation } The next step is receive the information from the client, thus a read-stream callback is triggered with the information of the established connection. But when the callback-handler tries to use this connection the error occurs, it says that such connection is deallocated. The issue here is that I don't know where/when the connection is deallocated and how to know it. I am using the debugger, but after some trials, I don't see more info. void myReadStreamCallBack (CFReadStreamRef stream, CFStreamEventType eventType, void *info) { NSAutoreleasePool *pool = [[NSAutoreleasePool alloc] init]; Connection *handlerEv = [[(Connection *)info retain] autorelease]; // The error -[Connection retain]: message sent to deallocated instance 0x1f5ef0 (Where 0x1f5ef0 is the reference to the established connection) [handlerEv readStreamHandleEvent:stream andEvent:eventType]; [pool drain]; } void myWriteStreamCallBack (CFWriteStreamRef stream, CFStreamEventType eventType, void *info){ NSAutoreleasePool *p = [[NSAutoreleasePool alloc] init]; Connection *handlerEv = [[(Connection *)info retain] autorelease]; //Sometimes the error also happens here, I tried without the pool, but it doesn't help neither. [handlerEv writeStreamHandleEvent:eventType]; [p drain]; } Something strange is that when I run the debugger(with breakpoints) everything goes well, the connection is not deallocated and the callbacks work fine and the server is able to receive the message. I will appreciate any hint!

  • Unresolved compilation problems -- can't use .jar files that I have created

    I created a few .jar files and am trying to access them in another application - I have tried to use both Eclipse and IntelliJ and experience the same issue: java.lang.Error: Unresolved compilation problems: The import com.XXXX.XXXXXXXXX.project2 cannot be resolved The import com.XXXX.XXXXXXXXX.project2 cannot be resolved BeanFactory cannot be resolved to a type Author cannot be resolved to a type AuthorFactoryImpl cannot be resolved to a type Author cannot be resolved to a type Author cannot be resolved to a type I have been using Maven during this process and the jars compile fine. • iPhone SDK / Objective C Syntax Question

    - by Koppo
    To all, I was looking at the sample project from http://iphoneonrails.com/ and I saw they took the NSObject class and added methods to it for the SOAP calls. Their sample project can be downloaded from here http://iphoneonrails.com/downloads/objective_resource-1.01.zip. My question is related to my lack of knowledge on the following syntax as I haven't seen it yet in a iPhone project. There is a header file called NSObject+ObjectiveResource.h where they declare and change NSObject to have extra methods for this project. Is the "+ObjectiveResource.h" in the name there a special syntax or is that just the naming convention of the developers. Finally inside the class NSObject we have the following #import <Foundation/Foundation.h> @interface NSObject (ObjectiveResource) // Response Formats typedef enum { XmlResponse = 0, JSONResponse, } ORSResponseFormat; // Resource configuration + (NSString *)getRemoteSite; + (void)setRemoteSite:(NSString*)siteURL; + (NSString *)getRemoteUser; + (void)setRemoteUser:(NSString *)user; + (NSString *)getRemotePassword; + (void)setRemotePassword:(NSString *)password; + (SEL)getRemoteParseDataMethod; + (void)setRemoteParseDataMethod:(SEL)parseMethod; + (SEL) getRemoteSerializeMethod; + (void) setRemoteSerializeMethod:(SEL)serializeMethod; + (NSString *)getRemoteProtocolExtension; + (void)setRemoteProtocolExtension:(NSString *)protocolExtension; + (void)setRemoteResponseType:(ORSResponseFormat) format; + (ORSResponseFormat)getRemoteResponseType; // Finders + (NSArray *)findAllRemote; + (NSArray *)findAllRemoteWithResponse:(NSError **)aError; + (id)findRemote:(NSString *)elementId; + (id)findRemote:(NSString *)elementId withResponse:(NSError **)aError; // URL construction accessors + (NSString *)getRemoteElementName; + (NSString *)getRemoteCollectionName; + (NSString *)getRemoteElementPath:(NSString *)elementId; + (NSString *)getRemoteCollectionPath; + (NSString *)getRemoteCollectionPathWithParameters:(NSDictionary *)parameters; + (NSString *)populateRemotePath:(NSString *)path withParameters:(NSDictionary *)parameters; // Instance-specific methods - (id)getRemoteId; - (void)setRemoteId:(id)orsId; - (NSString *)getRemoteClassIdName; - (BOOL)createRemote; - (BOOL)createRemoteWithResponse:(NSError **)aError; - (BOOL)createRemoteWithParameters:(NSDictionary *)parameters; - (BOOL)createRemoteWithParameters:(NSDictionary *)parameters andResponse:(NSError **)aError; - (BOOL)destroyRemote; - (BOOL)destroyRemoteWithResponse:(NSError **)aError; - (BOOL)updateRemote; - (BOOL)updateRemoteWithResponse:(NSError **)aError; - (BOOL)saveRemote; - (BOOL)saveRemoteWithResponse:(NSError **)aError; - (BOOL)createRemoteAtPath:(NSString *)path withResponse:(NSError **)aError; - (BOOL)updateRemoteAtPath:(NSString *)path withResponse:(NSError **)aError; - (BOOL)destroyRemoteAtPath:(NSString *)path withResponse:(NSError **)aError; // Instance helpers for getting at commonly used class-level values - (NSString *)getRemoteCollectionPath; - (NSString *)convertToRemoteExpectedType; //Equality test for remote enabled objects based on class name and remote id - (BOOL)isEqualToRemote:(id)anObject; - (NSUInteger)hashForRemote; @end What is the "ObjectiveResource" in the () mean for NSObject? What is that telling Xcode and the compiler about what is happening..? After that things look normal to me as they have various static and instance methods. I know that by doing this all user classes that inherit from NSObject now have all the extra methods for this project. My question is what is the parenthesis are doing after the NSObject. Is that referencing a header file, or is that letting the compiler know that this class is being over ridden. Thanks again and my apologies ahead of time if this is a dumb question but just trying to learn what I lack.

  • Cannot connect to MySQL with JDBC - Connection Timeout - Ubuntu 9.04

    - by gav
    I am running Ubuntu and am ultimately trying to connect Tomcat to my MySQL database using JDBC. It has worked previously but after a reboot the instance now fails to connect. Both Tomcat 6 and MySQL 5.0.75 are on the same machine Connection string: jdbc:mysql:///localhost:3306 I can connect to MySQL on the command line using the mysql command The my.cnf file is pretty standard (Available on request) has bind address: 127.0.0.1 I cannot Telnet to the MySQL port despite netstat saying MySQL is listening I have one IpTables rule to forward 80 - 8080 and no firewall I'm aware of. I'm pretty new to this and I'm not sure what else to test. I don't know whether I should be looking in etc/interfaces and if I did what to look for. It's weird because it used to work but after a reboot it's down so I must have changed something.... :). I realise a timeout indicates the server is not responding and I assume it's because the request isn't actually getting through. I installed MySQL via apt-get and Tomcat manually. • Placing component on Glass Pane

    - by Chris Lieb
    I have a subclass of JLabel that forms a component of my GUI. I have implemented the ability to drag and drop the component from one container to another, but without any visual effects. I want to have this JLabel follow the cursor during the drag of the item from one container to another. I figured that I could just create a glass pane and draw it on there. However, even after I add the component to the glass pane, set the component visible, and set the glass pane visible, and set the glass pane as opaque, I still so not see the component. I know the component works because I can add it to the content pane and have it show up. How do I add a component to the glass pane? package wpics509s10t7.view; import javax.swing.*; import wpics509s10t7.model.Tile; import java.awt.*; import java.awt.dnd.DragSource; import java.awt.event.AWTEventListener; import java.awt.event.MouseEvent; /** * GlassPane tutorial * "A well-behaved GlassPane" * http://weblogs.java.net/blog/alexfromsun/ * <p/> * This is the final version of the GlassPane * it is transparent for MouseEvents, * and respects underneath component's cursors by default, * it is also friedly for other users, * if someone adds a mouseListener to this GlassPane * or set a new cursor it will respect them * * @author Alexander Potochkin */ public class GlassPane extends JPanel implements AWTEventListener { private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L; private final JFrame frame; private TileView tv; // subclass of JLabel private Point point; private WordStealApp wsa; public GlassPane(JFrame frame, WordStealApp wsa) { super(null); this.wsa = wsa; this.frame = frame; setOpaque(true); setLayout(null); setVisible(true); composite = AlphaComposite.getInstance(AlphaComposite.SRC_OVER, 0.5f); } public void beginDrag(Tile t, Point p) { this.tv = new TileView(t, null, this.wsa, true); this.add(this.tv); System.out.println("Starting point: x=" + p.getX() + ",y=" + p.getY()); this.tv.setLocation((int)p.getX(), (int)p.getY()); this.tv.setVisible(true); } public void endDrag(Point p) { System.out.println("Ending point: x=" + p.getX() + ",y=" + p.getY()); this.remove(this.tv); this.tv.setVisible(false); this.tv = null; } public void eventDispatched(AWTEvent event) { if (event instanceof MouseEvent) { MouseEvent me = (MouseEvent) event; if (!SwingUtilities.isDescendingFrom(me.getComponent(), frame)) { return; } if (me.getID() == MouseEvent.MOUSE_EXITED && me.getComponent() == frame) { if (tv != null) { tv.setVisible(false); } point = null; } else { MouseEvent converted = SwingUtilities.convertMouseEvent(me.getComponent(), me, frame.getGlassPane()); point = converted.getPoint(); } repaint(); } } /** * If someone adds a mouseListener to the GlassPane or set a new cursor * we expect that he knows what he is doing * and return the super.contains(x, y) * otherwise we return false to respect the cursors * for the underneath components */ @Override public boolean contains(int x, int y) { if (getMouseListeners().length == 0 && getMouseMotionListeners().length == 0 && getMouseWheelListeners().length == 0 && getCursor() == Cursor.getPredefinedCursor(Cursor.DEFAULT_CURSOR)) { return false; } return super.contains(x, y); } }

  • Using JUnit with App Engine and Eclipse

    - by Mark M
    I am having trouble setting up JUnit with App Engine in Eclipse. I have JUnit set up correctly, that is, I can run tests that don't involve the datastore or other services. However, when I try to use the datastore in my tests they fail. The code I am trying right now is from the App Engine site (see below): http://code.google.com/appengine/docs/java/tools/localunittesting.html#Running_Tests So far I have added the external JAR (using Eclipse) appengine-testing.jar. But when I run the tests I get the exception below. So, I am clearly not understanding the instructions to enable the services from the web page mentioned above. Can someone clear up the steps needed to make the App Engine services available in Eclipse? java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/google/appengine/api/datastore/dev/LocalDatastoreService at com.google.appengine.tools.development.testing.LocalDatastoreServiceTestConfig.tearDown(LocalDatastoreServiceTestConfig.java:138) at com.google.appengine.tools.development.testing.LocalServiceTestHelper.tearDown(LocalServiceTestHelper.java:254) at com.cooperconrad.server.MemberTest.tearDown(MemberTest.java:28) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:597) at org.junit.runners.model.FrameworkMethod$1.runReflectiveCall(FrameworkMethod.java:44) at org.junit.internal.runners.model.ReflectiveCallable.run(ReflectiveCallable.java:15) at org.junit.runners.model.FrameworkMethod.invokeExplosively(FrameworkMethod.java:41) at org.junit.internal.runners.statements.RunAfters.evaluate(RunAfters.java:37) at org.junit.runners.BlockJUnit4ClassRunner.runChild(BlockJUnit4ClassRunner.java:73) at org.junit.runners.BlockJUnit4ClassRunner.runChild(BlockJUnit4ClassRunner.java:46) at org.junit.runners.ParentRunner.runChildren(ParentRunner.java:180) at org.junit.runners.ParentRunner.access$000(ParentRunner.java:41) at org.junit.runners.ParentRunner$1.evaluate(ParentRunner.java:173) at org.junit.internal.runners.statements.RunBefores.evaluate(RunBefores.java:28) at org.junit.internal.runners.statements.RunAfters.evaluate(RunAfters.java:31) at org.junit.runners.ParentRunner.run(ParentRunner.java:220) at org.eclipse.jdt.internal.junit4.runner.JUnit4TestReference.run(JUnit4TestReference.java:46) at org.eclipse.jdt.internal.junit.runner.TestExecution.run(TestExecution.java:38) at org.eclipse.jdt.internal.junit.runner.RemoteTestRunner.runTests(RemoteTestRunner.java:467) at org.eclipse.jdt.internal.junit.runner.RemoteTestRunner.runTests(RemoteTestRunner.java:683) at org.eclipse.jdt.internal.junit.runner.RemoteTestRunner.run(RemoteTestRunner.java:390) at org.eclipse.jdt.internal.junit.runner.RemoteTestRunner.main(RemoteTestRunner.java:197) Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.google.appengine.api.datastore.dev.LocalDatastoreService at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:202) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:190) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:307) at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Launcher.java:301) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:248) ... 25 more Here is the actual code (pretty much copied from the site): package com.example; import static org.junit.Assert.*; import org.junit.After; import org.junit.Before; import org.junit.Test; import com.google.appengine.api.datastore.DatastoreService; import com.google.appengine.api.datastore.DatastoreServiceFactory; import com.google.appengine.api.datastore.Entity; import com.google.appengine.api.datastore.Query; import com.google.appengine.tools.development.testing.LocalDatastoreServiceTestConfig; import com.google.appengine.tools.development.testing.LocalServiceTestHelper; public class MemberTest { private final LocalServiceTestHelper helper = new LocalServiceTestHelper(new LocalDatastoreServiceTestConfig()); @Before public void setUp() { helper.setUp(); } @After public void tearDown() { helper.tearDown(); } // run this test twice to prove we're not leaking any state across tests private void doTest() { DatastoreService ds = DatastoreServiceFactory.getDatastoreService(); assertEquals(0, ds.prepare(new Query("yam")).countEntities()); ds.put(new Entity("yam")); ds.put(new Entity("yam")); assertEquals(2, ds.prepare(new Query("yam")).countEntities()); } @Test public void testInsert1() { doTest(); } @Test public void testInsert2() { doTest(); } @Test public void foo() { assertEquals(4, 2 + 2); } }

But I want to print value: 2005,2006,2007,2008..... I changed in some code like: setChartSettings(renderer, "Yearly revenue in the last "+count+" years", "Years", "revenue in $", 2005, 2010, 0, 24000, Color.GRAY, Color.LTGRAY); and run project i get value of x-axis like: 2005,2006,2007.... but not get graph bar value. Values of all x-axis are null. How can I make this work?
