  Does the database connection have to be set inside a TransactionScope? Or can I set it in the ctor and then have instance methods create up a TransactionScope?   I just installed Dynamics CRM 4.0. It is working nicely except for workflows. They won't start. I turned on tracing and it appears that there is an IO error. The server is setup with IFD and SSL. No issues accessing it internally or externally. If this is correct, how would one configure a CRM server for secure access, internal and external (IFD) and still allow asynch service to hit web site? Thanks for your help!

  I have a page here with a few list views on it that are all bound to Linq data sources and they seem to be working just fine. I want to add validation such that when a checkbox (IsVoid on the object) is checked, comments must be entered (VoidedComments on the object). Here's the bound object's OnValidate method: partial void OnValidate(ChangeAction action) { if (action == ChangeAction.Update) { if (_IsVoid) { string comments = this.VoidedComments; if (string.IsNullOrEmpty(this._VoidedComments)) { throw new ValidationException("Voided Comments are Required to Void an Error"); } } } } Despite there being a dynamic validator on the page referencing the same ValidationGroup as the dynamic control, when the exception fires, it's caught in JavaScript and the debugger wants to break in. The message is never delivered to the UI as expected. Any thoughts as to What's going on?

  A question that I answered got me wondering: How are regular expressions implemented in Python? What sort of efficiency guarantees are there? Is the implementation "standard", or is it subject to change? I thought that regular expressions would be implemented as DFAs, and therefore were very efficient (requiring at most one scan of the input string). Laurence Gonsalves raised an interesting point that not all Python regular expressions are regular. (His example is r"(a+)b\1", which matches some number of a's, a b, and then the same number of a's as before). This clearly cannot be implemented with a DFA. So, to reiterate: what are the implementation details and guarantees of Python regular expressions? It would also be nice if someone could give some sort of explanation (in light of the implementation) as to why the regular expressions "cat|catdog" and "catdog|cat" lead to different search results in the string "catdog", as mentioned in the question that I referenced before.

  I happens to find this nice article explaining how OpenID works. Clearly, OpenID consumer and OpenID server transfer information through URL query string. I'm wondering how Live ID accomplish similar functionality. It seems the info is not exchanged through query string in URL. And, since Live ID login server have different domain name from consumer domain, it is not applicable to transfer info through cookie. I tried to google tutorial of Live ID, but the result is full of jargon and hard to understand. Is there any easy-to-understand tutorial about How Live ID works?

So far I got to: Regex NotesChanged = new Regex(@"NOTES changed from \[(\w*|\W*)\] to \[([\w-|\W-]*)\]"); which matches only if "NOTES changed from" started at the beginning and has no '[]' within '[ ]', but I have "[CLOSED[]]" and also no "". • asp.net dynamic sitemap with querystring? Session variable seems like overkill.

  Hi, I'm using ASP.NET WebForms. I'm using the standard sitemap provider. Home User Account Entry Going to the home page should have a user selection screen. Clicking on a user should list out the user's accounts with options to edit, delete, add accounts. Selecting an account should list out all the user's account's entries with options to edit delete and add entries. How do you normally pass this information between pages? I could use the query string, but then, the sitemap doesn't work. The sitemap only has the exact page without the query string and therefore loses the information. /User/Account/List.aspx?User=123 /User/Account/Entry/List.aspx?User=123&Account=322 I could use a session variable, but this seems overkill. Thoughts and suggestions very appreciated. Thanks!

  I want to override the default integer constructors in Haskell so they produce strings (mostly for curiosity, but temporarily to make a nice input alternative for LaTeX's \frac{}{} inconvenience).   hi, I want to replace all whitespace characters in a string with a "+" and all "ß" with "ss"... it works well for "ß", but somehow eclipse won't let me use \s for a whitespace.. I tried "\t" instead, but it doesn't work either.. I get the following error: Invalid escape sequence (valid ones are \b \t \n \f \r \" \' \ ) this is my code: try { String temp1 = from.getText().toString(); start_from = temp1.replaceAll("ß", "ss"); start_from = start_from.replaceAll("\s", "+"); } why doesn't it work? is it a problem with android, eclipse or what? thanks in advance!

  I've got aConfiguration object that I can easily read and write settings from and call Save(ConfigurationSaveMode.Minimal, true) on and that typically works just fine. However, I now have a config file that has a custom sectionGroup defined of type System.Configuration.NameValueSectionHandler (I didn't write that part and I can't change it). Now when I call the Save method, it throws a TypeLoadException Message: Type System.Configuration.NameValueSectionHandler does not inherit from System.Configuration.ConfigurationSectionGroup.   Hi, In our applications we make html documents as reports and exports. But now our customer wants a button that saves that document on their pc. The problem is that the document includes images. Therefore I'm looking for an alternative PDF seems to be a good alternative, does anyone know a good pdf writer for C#? One that has some good references and has been tested properly? • Why does ffmpeg stop randomly in the middle of a process?

  ffmpeg feels like its taking a long time. I then look at my output file and i see it stops between 6 and 8mbs. A fully encoded file is about 14mb. Why does ffmpeg stop? My code locks up on StandardOutput.ReadToEnd();. I had to kill the process (after seeing it not move for more then 10 seconds when i see it update every second previously) then i get the results of stdout and err. stdout is "" stderr is below. The output msg shows the filesize ended. I also see a drop in my CPU usage when it stops. I copyed the argument from visual studios. CD to the same working directory and ran the cmd (bin/ffmpeg) and pasted the argument.   i have some questions about python: 1- How to build .exe files from .py files? 2- How to run a program with arguments and receive the result by python code? 3- How to load .NET library in python code (or write python in VS.NET IDE [!?])? 4- is built-in integer of python 3.1 something like a string? it calculates 200! in less than one second and calculates 2^1 to 2^7036 (by a simple recursive algorithm & writing them to a text file) with a 1.75GHz cpu in 4 minuets, so if it is a string, how it can be so fast like this? is there a great difference between memory type and logical calculation of python with c++? 5- what is the best python practice? how can i be an expert?

• Debugging ASP.NET Strings Downloaded to Browser

  I'm downloading a vCard to the browser using Response.Write to output .NET strings with special accented characters. Mime type is text/x-vcard and French characters are appearing wrong in Outlook, for example Montréal;Québec .NET string shows as Montréal Québec in browser. I'm using this vCard code from CodeProject.com I've played with the System.Encoding sample code at the bottom of this linked MSDN page to convert the unicode string into bytes and then write the ascii bytes but then I get Montr?al Qu?bec (progress but not a win). Also I've tried setting content type to both us-ascii and utf-8 of the response. Apparently the vcard file downloads as unicode. If I save it as ASCII text and open in Outlook it's okay. So my assumption is I need to cause download of ASCII but am unsure if I'm doing it wrong or have a misunderstanding of where to start.
