• SSL_accept hangs... sometimes ( C, linux, openssl )

  I'm currently working on an embedded linux system. There are two crucial client applications on the system that connect to an external server ( on another embedded system, all written in C ). The two apps use different certificates. The ssl connection works... At least usually, but from time to time an error occures: the server hangs on SSL_accept() when accepting connection from one of the applications - the one using older certificates. Restarting the server application does not help, nor does restarting the client - the only way is to reboot the server system, unless I create a symbilic link to the new certificates used by the other app - only then will restarting the server app work. Never does the error occur when both applications use the same, new certificate. Could this happen due to some strange openssl cache or something like that?

  I like to know the server (TCP based) architecture to support large scale of clients(at least10K) to implement Fix server. My points are How we design it. How to listen on the open port? Use select or poll or any other function. How to process the response of the client? On large scale we cannot create the one thread for each client. Should the processing of response is in the different executable and share the request and response to the server executable through IPC. There is much more on it. [Query]: Why and how are these values inferred? I mean why specifically have only 32 or 64 bit pointers? The diagram says, One data block{8 KB} for each pointer {4 bytes/8 bytes} [Query]: How does this actually work out? i.e. 8*1024 bytes / 8 bytes = 1024 bytes? • How to Return A File and a strongly Typed data at the same time?

  Hi I am using asp.net mvc 1.0 and I want to return a XML file but I also want to return a strongly typed data back so I can update some fields. Like the XML file will contain users who failed to be inserted into the database. So I want that to appear as a dialog save box what asp.net mvc return file() would do. However I also want to return on the page like values like how many users failed to be added, how many users where added, etc. So I want to use scafolding with the class file I want to pass it along. If this was a view I could pass it along as an object model but I don't see a parameter for that in File(). I also don't want to save the xml file onto the harddrive I want to do it through memory. So have a link that would display on the page to download the file and show the the data I want would not be desired.

  Hi! I am looking for a stand-alone, easy to use from C# code, template engine. What I want to do is create an html and xml files with placeholders for data, and fill them with data from my code. The engine needs to support loops (duplicating parts of the template form more that one object) and conditions (add parts of the template to the final html/xml only if some conditions are true). Can someone recommend a good option for me, and add a link to more-or-less such code sample, and some documentation about how to use the recommended component for my needs? Thanks:) Just wanted to add one more thing - I also need to use loops to duplicate table rows, or even entire tables (in the html version) and complex elements (in the xml version) Thanks again:)

• Displaying name instead of ID PHP MySQL

  Hi, I need something simple; I have page where a user clicks an author to see the books associated with that author. On my page displaying the list of books for the author, I want a simple HTML title saying: 'The books for: AUTHORNAME' I can get the page to display author ID but not the name. When the user clicks the link in the previous page of the author, it looks likes this: <a href="viewauthorbooks.php?author_id=<?php echo $row['author_id']?>"><?php echo $row['authorname']?></a> And then on the 'viewauthorbooks.php?author_id=23' I have declared this at the start: $author_id = $_GET['author_id']; $authorname = $_GET['authorname']; And finally, 'The books for: AUTHORNAME, where it says AUTHORNAME, I have this: echo $authorname (With PHP tags, buts its not letting me put them in!) And this doesnt show anything, however if I change it to author_id, it displays the correct author ID that has been clicked, but its not exactly user friendly!! Can anyone help me out!

  Hey, I want to add a parameter to a URL but currently it isnt showing in the $_GET global. A snippet from my htaccess file is as below: RewriteRule ^account/blogs/([0-9]+)/([^\s?]+)/?$ /account/blog.php?blogId=$1 [L,QSA] Then in my php code i want to add a link such as: /account/blogs/1/ThisIsWhereTheTitleGoes?delete=1 The wildcard (any char but space) option is for the blog title as i never know what it would be. I know want to add a query string param on the end such as ?delete=1. I however dont want this as part of the rewrite. Does anybody know how to so this? Thanks

• How to Call methods I see in a wsdl file someone linked me to?

  Hi all, I am not a Java programmer by trade. C and Fortran mostly. However, I have this one-off project someone wants done. Connect to some web-based database and retrieve some data from it. I asked around, and someone finally linked me to a WSDL page. I click on this link, and I see a huge XML looking file. If I am writing a stand-alone java application, how do I go about calling these (promising looking) method names that I see in the wsdl. You know "getCoordinates" is there, but i have no idea how to call that method. After googling, I am finding a lot of different ways, and I am not sure what is the best way for my simple application. • Force download menu for remote files

  Hey, I would like users to upload links on my site. When another user clicks on the link (e.g. PDF file), then I would like the download popup to show instead of actually displaying the PDF in browser. I know I can use Response.AddHeader/Response.WriteFile to achieve this, but the WriteFile method required a virtual path. However, the links uploaded by the user will be pointing to external servers. Can I still force the download popup to show and, if so, what would be the most efficient way of doing it? Thanks for any advice

  So I was trying to compile a code which has a SHA1 function .. I included following header: #include <openssl/sha.h> And I got the following error while compiling: test.c:9:5: error: 'SHA1' is deprecated: first deprecated in OS X 10.7 [-Werror,-Wdeprecated-declarations] SHA1(msg, strlen(msg), hs); ^ But man pages still have the descriptions for that function. Can anyone suggest any other header for a similar function ( MD5 or SHA1 )? PS - also do I need to link any libraries while compiling using gcc?

  Suppose I have a web app with a servlet defined in web.xml. Then I deploy it on Tomcat. Then I open my browser and go to the link to this servlet, it is invoked. Then I close my browser window. How Session behaves ? How is it created, destroyed in this case? if this servlet is "detached" from all the web app, and gets parameters only using post & get, so it does not need Session at all, should one use Session.invalidate at the end of doGet(), doPost() ?

• Question about SSL Certificate.

  Hi experts, I am trying to make a SSL connection to a web site. Each time I enter the https:// address and press enter, the IE8 prompts me to select the Certificate (Client Certificate) to send to the server. I got 2 certificates to choose from. And they are stored in the IE8 - Internet Options - Content - Certificates - Personal. Since my server and client are the same machine, I want to use a single certificate for both server and client. And this certificate is a IIS generated self signed certificate. I do the following steps: 1- Generate a self-signed-cert in IIS; 2- Bind my site to https and choose the above self-signed-cert 3- Import the self-signed-cert at the IE8 - Internet Options - Content - Certificates - Personal. Then I use the https link to access my page, it is still prompts me to choose a certificate. But I cannot see my newly imported self-signed-cert. Why?

• htaccess mod rewrite files to go through php first?

  I have a directory full of files. Originally people were allowed to direct link to these files. Now i would like to run all files through a php file first. Could someone help me with the .htaccess needed to do that?   Hi, I have a has and belongs to many relation between User and Article models, and I would like to link them even if an article if not hosted on the same database then a user. For example, If an article exists at foo.com/articles/3 and a user exists at bar.com/users/1, If would like to be able to do from foo.com web interface or bar.com web interface this kind of query: a_user.articles (or an_article.users). I think this can be possible adding a field like "url" in users and articles tables. But I don't know how to process for ActiveRecord. My Article model looks like this: class Article < ActiveRecord::Base has_and_belongs_to_many :users end Is there yet some example of project using this kind of relation over internet? Many thanks

And in the yahoo rich text editor there is one link of image insert.. but i don't know why its not opening. on click of it. the image insert dialog is not opening. all things are working properly. • Secure messaging using Signed MIME is it reliable?

  We have an automatic reporting and notification system written in .net that sends emails with plain text. We are having to encrypt the messages that we send our clients. The possible implementation approaches we have: Send messages as S/Mime email with attachments. Plain text email with that just contains a link to a web site that will display the message over https. It seems like S/Mime is a simpler solution, as we won't need to create the web application or secure it. Our concern is our interoperability with our clients email clients and more importantly their email filtering software. Has anyone had success or issues deploying a Signed MIME messaging solution?

• Entity Framework 4.1 auto generate with DbContext when creating ADO.NET Entity Data Model

  I would like to work with DbContext instead of ObjectContext. I updated EF so now I have the DbContext, but I want to generate my strongly-typed context based on the DbContext and not the ObjectContext. When I add new ADO.NET Entity Data Model, it is still based on the ObjectContext. Is it not possible to have it base off of DbContext in Visual Studio 2010 with EF 4.1? UPDATE: Okay, I followed the directions in this link and was able to generate the DbContext template objects. However, now it is saying there is ambiguity between the template entities and the entities in my .edmx file. How do I resovle this? Do I blow away the ones in the .edmx file?
