• Hibernate's version values in Grails app

  I'm looking at a database dump file, and I see many records in various tables with their version number set in values other than 0 (even 94 in one case). I understand it has to do with hibernate locking strategy, but my concern is that today is Sunday, and the site has almost no visitors so is: is this normal ? Or is there a known hibernate bug or even some programming malpractice producing this ?

  I'm maintaining an inherited site built on Drupal. We are currently experiencing "too many connections" to the database. In the /includes/database.mysql.inc file, @mysql_connect($url['host'], $url['user'], $url['pass'], TRUE, 2) (mysql_connect() documentation) is used to connect to the database. Should $new_link = TRUE be used? My understanding is that it will "always open a new link." Could this be causing the "too many connections"?

• jQuery Light Box not loading in all system?

  I have one very surprising issue with Google Fonts. This is the site in question. The title is normaly showing in one ligne but a friend of mine with the same Opera version like me sent me this screenshot. You can see that the title goes in two lines and brakes every think. It's the first time I use Gfonts and must admit that there is another problem in Firefox too - the font appears so jagged! Thanks for your advises!

I have noticed that sets of tables (eg all for one domain) have no relationship to other groups of tables as they are completely unrelated. What implication does this have on database design?   i have built jQuery drop-down menu which is having problems floating over the UI header. Flash and everything else is fine, menu has no problem floating over anything except UI headers, i have tried messing with z-index in css files but it seems that jQuery script is over writing all of my css. the JS files are minified so i can not edit them.
