• Show SVG files on Sharepoint 2007

  I'm building a WSS site which has to show SVG files stored on WSS. I'm trying to use <object> tag to show it and it doesn't show, however, if I use <embed> it works ok. Im'using IE8 and IE7 I've been reading and everyone tells IE prefers <Object> over <embed>, but in WSS it doesn't work this way. To display the file I'm using a web content editor webpart with this code: <object type="image/svg+xml" data="/samples/sample.svg" name="owMain" width="400" height="150"> </object> Any clue??

• When we run an aspx page with client side scripting on IIS, we get an ActiveX control error?

  we have implemented the code for installing the messenger theme pack using the client side scripting in a web page. We are creating an object of the messenger using the classid .Using this object we call the installcontent() method and try to install the messenger theme pack hosted at following path: http://www.messengerexpressions.com/assets/worldCup/cabs/en-gb.cab Our code initially checks whether the messenger is installed on the user machine or not. Then it checks for the user login ,once the messenger is installed on the machine. And if the user is signed-in , the messenger theme pack is installed. The code currently when hosted on IIS checks the “Sign-In of the user” but when it tries to install the theme pack an error is thrown “An ActiveX control on this page is unsafe.Your current security settings prohibit running unsafe control on this page.As a result,this page may not be display as intended.” Please let us know if any setting is required on IIS for running this piece of codeor anything that we are missing out.

• How to? - part of the site over ssl, other part not

  What is common practice for coding web applications where part of the site has to be secured (e.g. checkout section) and part not necessarily, lets say homepage. As far as I know sharing sessions in between http and https parts of the site is not easily possible (or is it?). What would be common approach if I wanted to display on http page like homepage, shopping cart data (items) that users ordered on https pages? How those two parts of the site would communicate if necessary? Also isn't it security flaw in popular shopping carts as it seems that many of these have only checkout pages secured (ssl) and the rest not? I'm using php if it makes any difference.

• How to color a mesh with values at the vertices in WPF 3D?

  We've got a sphere which we want to display in 3D and color given a fuction that depends on spherical coordinates. The sphere was triangulated using a regular grid in (theta, phi), but this produced a lot of small triangles near the poles. In an attempt to reduce the number triangles at the poles, we've changed out mesh generation to produce more evenly sized triangles over the surface. The first triangulation method had the advantage that we could easily create a texture and drape it over the surface. It seems that in WPF it isn't possible to assign colors to vertices the way one would go about in OpenGL or Direct3D. With the second triangulation method it isn't apparent how to go about generating the texture and setting the texture coordinates, since the vertices aren't aligned to a grid anymore. Maybe it would be possible to create a linear texture containing a color for each vertex, but then how will that effect the coloring? Will it still render smoothly over the triangle surfaces as one would expect by applying per vertex coloring?

• Creating a virtual, data-driven section of a Wordpress-powered site

  Hello all, I want to create a plugin for wordpress to automatically serve pages containing data pulled from a provider's API. The API returns one or more records containing data for that record and I simply want to have the plugin intercept the request, call the API with parameters pulled from the request URI and display the data using a template that I can either let them upload to the server or let them copy and paste into the plugins admin settings. For example, I may want one of my wordpress installations to show products pulled from such an API under the url "example.com/products". The plugin would catch that request, extract the variables from the URL, call the API and render the template with the returned results. I'd like to avoid requiring editing the .htaccess file like some caching plugins do. Some of the admins of these pages won't know how to do that or simply won't have access to the .htaccess file. • IE8 positions DIV overlay wrong way and keeps playing video when it's hidden.

  Hi! Please take a look at: http://www.binarymark.com/Products/PasswordGenerator/default.aspx (the Overview tab, on the diagram). The issue is wjen you click on any of the diagram elements say "Character Groups" all browsers, except IE8 behave well - that is they display the overlay, start playing a video, and when the overlay is closed, the video stops playing an the div is hidden. IE8, on the other hand has two flaws: it positions the overlay way towards the bottom and too much to the right, and even more annoyingly - it keeps playing video in the background even when the overlay div is closed! I use flowplayer.org/tools/overlay/ for overlay. Can you help please? Thanks.

  Hello all. I am using the Validation Plugin for jQuery and it works wonders. Except when I have a group of checkboxes...the error messages will display right after the first checkbox...like so: <tbody> <c:forEach items="${list}" var="item"> <tr> <td align="center"> <input type="checkbox" name="selectItems" value="<c:out value="${item.numberPlate}"/>" /> </td> <!--some other columns--> </tr> </c:forEach> </tbody> I found that I can use a wrapper for these checkboxes ,then place the error message there, but I have no idea how to do it since I'm creating the rows dynamically.   Hi: Generally,if we want to display a image in the web page,we give the uri of the image resource like: http://host:port/image/xxx.jpg. Now,there are some images in my file system,and I save its absolute path in the db. Like this; id name address image 1 xxxx xxxx C:/images/xxx.jpg Now if the entity is retrived,its image should be displayed in the page. How to make it? What I thought is copy the image under the web server dir,then build its url,then the page can render it. But I wonder if this is a good idea? Is there any other way?

• Why does internet explorer 8 fail to locate jpg files that other browsers can find?

  The following URL doesn't display for me in Internet Explorer 8. I even tried compatibility mode and it didn't fix the issue. http://beat.com.au/sites/default/files/images/_DSC5596.jpg It appears just fine in Chrome/Safari/Firefox. I suspect it has something to do with the filename starting with _ but that seems like a fairly big stretch to me. Is this error repeatable on other people's computers? And why on earth would such a strange thing happen anyway?

  Hi all, Here is what i am doing: I have a viewcontroller screen1 to which I have added long press gesture. On longPress, user will get draw menu. On selecting that menu, i am creating another uiviewcontroller class object which has a rectangle image. This instance i am adding as a subview to screen1. Now what i want is that once the image is displayed on the screen1, i want to display UImenuItems Done and cancel above the image drawn so that on tapping on done menu, the image is saved. I tried making the new viewcontroller as firstResponder after adding image to screen1 but the menus are not visible. Any one please help

  Hello all, I am a newb to Android and Java and want to write a funtion that will display a list based on a varable that I pass to the function. The function is below and the code below creates an array out of a string called type, but what I want to do is pass it a variable string and have it build a list based on that string. So if I wanted the type list I would say list_it("type") But if I try something like getResources().getStringArray(R.array.thelist); it doesn't work.   I am currently trying to implement a jquery slider into a joomla website. I already implemented NoConflict(); so that it doesn't step into joomla. And it works, BUT for another reason wich I do not understand it enters another jquery file called jsloader.js of a plugin I use for picture gallery display. I suppose all the module jquery files get preloaded before the one im calling inside the template. it enters the function() in the jsloader.js instead of the one in my jquery file. • Django: How do I go about changing my simple app to use Ajax?

  I currently have a web page where the user enters some data and then clicks a submit button. I process the data in views.py and then use the same Django template to return and display the original data and the results. UserControlBase has some common functions that are used in all user controls. I want to put error display funtion to UserControlBase as well so that I may not have to declare and manage it in all user controls. Error will be displayed in some label in usercontrol. • numberOfSectionsInTableView is requested in/after viewDidLoad ONLY if tableview is empty

  A simple tableviewController, empty. A modal that can be launched from a button. No data in the data source for the tableview, and no rows displayed. I open the modal, use it to add an item, and return to the tableview controller. The tableview updates itself automatically, and the new row is displayed. I add a second item. The table view does NOT update automatically. I can tell by logging inside numberOfSectionsInTableView that even if I go to add the first item and cancel, the tableview refreshes - it asks for the number of sections, rows, and the cell to display (if there is one). But not if there is one pre-existing row in the table. I've scoured my code but can't find anything that would cause the tableview to know when the first item is added, but none afterwards. Any ideas? EDIT - I have further narrowed my issue so will close this shortly and post a more specific question
