  • Twitter friends timeline not returning full history

    I am using twitter4J to get a user's friends timeline, but it is not returning the full available history. I know there are pagination limits (200 per request and 3200 total as per http://bit.ly/ck8ysq) and I am well within those. Any idea why this might be happening?

    I see several others have posted this question, however, none of the solutions I've tried have fixed this yet. I have a 32-bit XP running VS 2008 and I am trying to encrypt my connection string in my web.config file. But I am getting the error: The configuration section '...' was not found. Failed! The command I give it: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VCAspnet_regiis.exe -pe "system.we b/AdventureWorksConnectionString2" -app "/Documents and Settings/Admin/My Docume nts/Visual Studio 2008/Projects/AddFileToSQL2" Also, how does -app map virtual directory? In other words the path above is the directory right below c:. Is this the correct path to use? And AddFileToSQL2 is the name of my project, although it is part of the AddFileToSQL solution. I have this folder web shared with all of the permissions.     I'm having difficulty modifying a script for this situation and wondering if someone maybe able to help: I have an address table and a phone table both sharing the same column called id_number. So id_number = 2 on both tables refers to the same entity. Address and phone information used to be stored in one table (the address table) but it is now split into address and phone tables since we moved to Oracle 11g. There is a 3rd table called both_ids. This table also has an id_number column in addition to an other_ids column storing SSN and some other ids.   • How to configure ldap login with php

    I'm attempting to implement a login that works with ldap, My extension=php_ldap.dll is uncommented in both of my php config files, ldap shows up in my phpinfo() I have access to AD and I've been using dsquery to snoop around. So I believe I'm very close to achieving my goal function authenticate($user, $password) { $ldap_host = "na.ad.mycompanyname.com"; $ldap_dn = "CN=USA-USERS,DC=ad,DC=mycompanyname,DC=com"; $ldap_user_group = "Domain Users"; $ldap_manager_group = "Domain Admins"; $ldap_usr_dom = "@na.ad.mycompany.com"; So for now when I enter my login credentials, it fails and I get the appropriate error, my question is, what information do I need to enter and which dsquery commands should I use? Without being spoonfed, could someone point me in the right direction? I've done some extensive research, but nothing I could find really assists with figuring out which CN's and OU's to use. Yes I realize I need to be using the correct CN's and OU's that correspond to my location, but I've been trying the guess and check method to no avail, so I figured I would ask. Any assistance is appreciated. THANKS!!!

  • Emailing a fixed document through Outlook

    I've added functionality to an application that prints out a bunch of information to a FixedDOcument and sends this off to the printer. This works just fine, however the request is that there be an in application function that emails the document using OUtlook and its here that I come unstuck. I'd very much like to just reuse the class that makes the fixed document for printing to generate the text for email, but I'm struggling to do this. I've tried the following... Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.Application oApp = new Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.Application(); MailItem email = (MailItem)(oApp.CreateItem(OlItemType.olMailItem)); email.Recipients.Add("[email protected]"); email.Subject = "Hello"; email.Body = "TEST"; FixedDocument doc = CreateReport(); //make my fixed document //this doesn't work, and the parameters it takes suggest it never will email.Attachments.Add(doc, OlAttachmentType.olByValue, 1, null); email.Send(); I can't help but think I'm on completely the wrong tack here, but I don't really want to have to write a bunch of new text formatting (since email.Body only takes a string) when I've already got the content formatted how I want it. Note that the content is all textual, so I don't really care if it gets sent as an attachment or as text in the emails body. Ideally if its sent as an attachment it won't be saved anywhere permanently. Any pointers?

  • Checking if user owns file before deleting it

    I'm building an API for my site that allows users to delete the files they upload. Obviously, I want to check if the user owns that file before they delete it through the API. I have a files table and a users table, here's the schema: f_id, s_id, u_id, name, size, uploaded u_id, username, password, email, activated, activation_code u_id is a foreign key. The u_id field in the files table points to the u_id in the users table. Given the users username, I want to find the users u_id, and then check if they own the file through the file ID (f_id). I wrote this SQL: $sql = 'SELECT u.username FROM `users` u JOIN `files` f ON u.u_id = f.u_id WHERE f_id = ? AND u.u_id = ? LIMIT 1'; I'm assuming that'd work if I was given the users u_id in the API request, but alas I'm given only their username. How can I modify that SQL to find their user ID and use that? Thanks. Edit: Alright I've got this query but it's always returning an empty result set even though both the file ID and username exist.     I am a C# guy trying to translate some of my OOP understanding over to php. I'm trying to make my first class object, and are hitting a few hitches. I am getting errors using when I use var, and I'm getting confused. I know I don't HAVE to use var, or declare the variables at all, but I feel it is a better practice to do so. the error is "unexpected T_VAR, expecting T_VARIABLE" When I simply remove var from the declarations it works. Why is this?

  • Authentication and Security in my website - need advice please.

    Hi, I am using database with a list of username/passwords, and a simple web form that allows for users to enter their username/password. When they submit the page, I simply do a stored procedure check to authenticate. If they are authorised, then their user details (e.g. username, dob, address, company address, other important info) are stored in a custom User object and then in a session. This custom User object that I created is used throughout the web application, and also in a sub-site (session sharing). My question/problems are: Is my method of authentication the correct way to do things? I find users complaining that their session have expired although they "were not idle", possibly due the app pool recycling? They type large amounts of text and find that their session had expired and thus lose all the text typed in. I am uncertain whether the session does really reset sporadically but will Forms Authentication using cookies/cookiless resolve the issue? Alternatively should I build and store the User Object in a session, cookie or something else instead in order to be more "correct" and avoid cases like in point #2. If I go down the Forms Authentication route, I believe I cannot store my custom User object in a Forms Authentication cookie so does it mean I would store the UserID and then recreate the user object on every page? Would this not be a huge increase on the server load? Advice and answers much appreciated. L

  • Build system for multi-language project

    I am getting ready to embark on a project mainly for experimenting with languages, but also with a hint of usefulness. It will consist of a server-application, written in Erlang, and client-libraries in a number of languages. Initially I will want to write clients in Java, Ruby and Python. The actual protocol for communication will be Thrift. I'm looking for a build system that will allow me to build the server and all the client libraries in one go, running unit-tests in each language, then packaging up a releasable artifact of some sort in whatever way is the "standard" for each language. That means a Jar for Java, a RubyGem and a distribute/setuptools tarball for Python. Erlang probably has something too, but I'm not yet familiar with that. It should also be able to run the Thrift compiler to generate the various Thrift-stubs in each language. On the pad at the start is Maven. I'm fairly certain Maven can do all I need, but I fear it's too Java-centric, and leaves me with a ton of work for every new language I need to add.

  • Is Storing Cookies in a Database Safe?

    If I use mechanize, I can, for instance, create a new google analytics profile for a website. I do this by programmatically filling out the login form and storing the cookies in the database. Then, for at least until the cookie expires, I can access my analytics admin panel without having to enter my username and password again. Assuming you can't create a new analytics profile any other way (with OpenAuth or any of that, I don't think it works for actually creating a new Google Analytics profile, the Analytics API is for viewing the data, but I need to create an new analytics profile), is storing the cookie in the database a bad thing? If I do store the cookie in the database, it makes it super easy to programatically login to Google Analytics without the user ever having to go to the browser (maybe the app has functionality that says "user, you can schedule a hook that creates a new anaytics profile for each new domain you create, just enter your credentials once and we'll keep you logged in and safe"). Otherwise I have to keep transferring around emails and passwords which seems worse. So is storing cookies in the database safe?

    i am trying to create a overlapped image using different images,then saving to a particular location. so that i can use generated image(overlapped img) in my telerik reporting. it is important to me to save the overlapped image to the same location with same name. but generating this overlapped image second time throws throws "A generic error occurred in GDI+" error. Please help me with this. It seems i can not override the existing image file. i tried deleting the existing image every time i generate the new one. but its not allowing me deleting the file ,may be it is used by telerik reporting.   • Always send certain values with an ajax request/post

    I'm building a system that displays a list of user, and on selection of a user requests some form of password. These values are saved in a hidden field on the page, and need to be sent with every request as a form of authentication. (I'm aware of the MITM-vulnerability that lies herein, but it's a very low-key system, so security is not a large concern). Now I need to send these values with each and every request, to auth the currently 'logged in' user. I'd like to automate this, via ajaxSetup, however i'm running into some issues. My first try was: init_user_auth: function(){ $.ajaxSetup({ data: { 'user' : site_user.selected_user_id(), 'passcode': site_user.selected_user_pc(), 'barcode' : site_user.selected_user_bc() } }); }, However, as I should have known, this reads the values once, at the time of the call to ajaxSetup, and never rereads them. What I need is a way to actually call the functions every time an ajax-call is made. I'm currently trying to understand what is happening here: https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!topic/jquery-dev/OBcEfgvTJ9I, however through the flamewar and very low-level stuff going on there, I'm not exactly sure I get what is going on. Is this the way to proceed, or should I just face facts and manually add login-info to each ajax-call?

  • Fluent NHibernate no data being returned

    Hello, I have been successfully using NHibernate, but now I am trying to move to Fluent NHibernate. I have created all of my mapping files and set up my session manager to use a Fluent Configuration. I then run my application and it runs successfully, but no data is returned. There are no errors or any indication that there is a problem, but nothing runs. when using NHibernate, if I don't set my hbm xml files as an embedded resource, this same thing happens. This makes me wonder what I have to set my Map classes to. Right now, they are just set to Compile, and they are compiled into the dll, which I can see by disassembling it. Does anyone have any thoughts as to what may be happening here?   • Risky Business with LINQ to SQL and OR Designer?

    I have two tables with a one to many relationship in SQL 2008. The first table (BBD) PK | BBDataID | int       | Floor_Qty | tinyint       | Construct_Year | char(4)       | etc, etc describes the data common to all buildings and the second (BBDCerts) PK | BBDCertsID | int       | BBDataID | int       | Certification_Type | varchar(20)       | etc, etc is a collection of certifications for a particular building. Thus, the primary key in BBD (BBDataID) is mapped to the corresponding field in BBDCerts via an FK relationship, but BBDCertsID is the second table's primary key and BBDataID is not because it will not be unique. My problem is that I want to be able to use the OR generated data context to get at the list of certs when I access a particular record in the BBD table. For instance: Dim vals = (From q in db.BBD Where q.BBDataID = x Select q.Floor_Qty, q.Construct_Year, q.BBDCerts).SingleOrDefault and later be able to access a particular certification like this: vals.BBDCerts.Certification_Type.First Now, the automatic associations created when the SQL tables are dropped on the design surface don't generate the EntityRef associations that are needed to access the other table using the dot notation. So, I have to use the OR designer to make the BBDCerts BBDataID a primary key (this doesn't affect the actual database), and then manually change the association properties to the appropriate OneToMany settings. There might be a better way to approach this solution but my question is, is the way I've done it safe? I've done a barrage of tests and the correct cert is referenced or updated every time. Frankly, the whole thing makes me nervous.

If the array size is smaller than 8192, it is OK.   • Why can't multiple programmatically generated FilteringSelect's share a single store?

    Before you ask, a MultiSelect wouldn't really be intuitive for the user in this instance. I have an object, with an array as its value for 'items', that's provided on the page in a var statement. I also have a function that generates and places dijit.form.FilteringSelects and is triggered on a certain button's click event. Every one of these selects should have the aformentioned object as their 'store' attribute. If I write store: new dojo.data.ItemFileReadStore({ data: object_name }), in my select initialization code, I get weird behavior: I click the generate button 2 times and get 2 FilteringSelects (call them A,B). I click on B's dropdown piece, and the menu appears attached to B. Then I click on A's dropdown button, and menu appears attached to A. If I then go back and click on B's dropdown button again, nothing happens (well not nothing; an error gets thrown). However, if instead, I have data: {items: array_literal} everything works fine, and I switch back and forth between the 2 as much as I want. As the data: statement appears once in the javascript code, this isn't a big deal (now that I have a workaround at least). It is however, exceedingly odd. I attempted to dig into the source code, to no avail.Anybody have any idea what's going on here?

  • how do I create a custom route in rails where I pass the id of an existing Model?

    I created the following route: map.todo "todo/today", :controller => "todo", :action => "show_date" Originally, the 'show_date' action and associated view would display all the activities associated for that day for all the Campaigns. This ended up being very slow on the database...it would generate roughly 30 records but was still slow. So, I'm thinking of creating a partial that would first list the campaigns separately. If someone clicked on a link associated with campaign_id = 1, I want it to go to the following route: todo/today/campaign/1 Then I would like to know how to know that the '1' is the campaign_id in the controller and then just do its thing. The reason I want a distinct URL is so that I can cache this list. I have to keep going back to this and it's slow. NOTE: It's possibly the problem actually is that I've written the queries in a slow way and sqlite isn't representative of how it will be in production, in which case this work-around is unnecessary, but right now, I need a way to get back to the whole list quickly.

    I am not so sure about the question or what I should call what I am trying to achieve. I use a dialer called super sify. Here is the download - http://thegoan.com/supersify/supersify.zip The when extracted it has two files for linux, one is a .jar file which consists of some classes. The application was written in java. The other is a .sh file, which is a shell executable and takes some parameters like username and password and machine id and stuff. I want to port this app to android. What exactly would I have to do. Some more information is the .jar file is named supersify.jar and the .sh file is named ss.sh so here is the code for ss.sh java -jar supersify.jar $* if [ $? -eq 1 ] then read fi Please help me out. This is an open source software.So I am not doing any illegal modifications. I need to port this app to android, so would I have to write the whole thing again or just something else. I know some basic hello world android app development, and I have made an app to add two numbers, I am still on my way to become an android app developer, but I need this app and will learn a lot to make this possible unless it involves rewriting all the java classes.     I'm trying to create a function that will simply allow me to pass an SQL statement into it, and it will generate an array based on a unique ID I pass it: function oracleGetGata($query, $id="id") { global $conn; $sql = OCI_Parse($conn, $query); OCI_Execute($sql); OCI_Fetch_All($sql, $results, null, null, OCI_FETCHSTATEMENT_BY_ROW); return $results; }   For example I'd like this query $array = oracleGetData('select * from table') to return something like: [1] => Array ( [Title] => Title 1 [Description] => Description 1 ) [2] => Array ( [Title] => Title 2 [Description] => Description 2 ) [3] => Array ( [Title] => Title 3 [Description] => Description 3 )   Rather than what it's returning at the moment: [0] => Array ( [ID] => 3 [TITLE] => Title 3 [DESCRIPTION] => Description 3 ) [1] => Array ( [ID] => 1 [TITLE] => Title 1 [DESCRIPTION] => Description 1 ) [2] => Array ( [ID] => 2 [TITLE] => Title 2 [DESCRIPTION] => Description 2 )   I'd really appreciate any help with this, as the function would save me lots of time!   • Doctrine YAML not generating correctly? Or is this markup wrong?

    I'm trying to get a many-to-many relationship between Users and Settings. The models seem to be generated correctly, however the following query fails: "User_Setting" with an alias of "us" in your query does not reference the parent component it is related to. $q = new Doctrine_RawSql(); $q->select('{s.*}, {us.*}') ->from('User u CROSS JOIN Setting s LEFT JOIN User_Setting us ON us.usr_auto_key = u.usr_auto_key AND us.set_auto_key = s.set_auto_key') ->addComponent('s', 'Setting s INDEXBY s.set_auto_key') ->addComponent('us', 'User_Setting us') ->where(u.usr_auto_key = ?',$this->usr_auto_key); $this->settings = $q->execute(); Does anyone spot a problem?     Hi, I want to serialize the following: [Serializable] [DefaultPropertyAttribute("Name")] [XmlInclude(typeof(ItemInfo))] [XmlInclude(typeof(ItemInfoA))] [XmlInclude(typeof(ItemInfoB))] public class ItemInfo { private string name; [XmlArray("Items"), XmlArrayItem(typeof(ItemInfo))] private ArrayList arr; private ItemInfo parentItemInfo; } [Serializable] [XmlInclude(typeof(ItemInfo))] [XmlInclude(typeof(ItemInfoA))] [XmlInclude(typeof(ItemInfoB))] public class ItemInfoA : ItemInfo { ... } [Serializable] [XmlInclude(typeof(ItemInfo))] [XmlInclude(typeof(ItemInfoA))] [XmlInclude(typeof(ItemInfoB))] public class ItemInfoB : ItemInfo { ... } The class itemInfo describes a container which can hold other itemInfo objects in the array list, the parentItemInfo describes which is the parent container of the item info. Since ItemInfoA and ItemInfoB derive from ItemInfo they can also be a member of the array list and the parentItemInfo, therefore when trying to serialize these objects (which can hold many objects in hierarchy) it fails with exception can't generate the xml file - innerexception. My question is: What attributes do I need to add the ItemInfo class so it will be serializable? Note: the exception is only when the ItemInfo[A]/[B] are initialized with parentItemInfo or the arrayList. Help please! Thanks!
