• iPhone -trouble with a loading data from webservice into a tableview

  I am using a Window based application and then loading up my initial navigationview based controller. After loading it if the user is not registered/ does not have a credentials present then it takes the user to a login view controller . loginViewController *sampleView = [[loginViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"loginViewController" bundle:nil]; [self.navigationController presentModalViewController:sampleView animated:YES]; [sampleView release]; then right after that i try to load the table with data that i get from a webservice using asiHTTP .. for this question lets say it takes 3 seconds time to get the data and then deserialize it . now... my question is it works out okey in the later runs as I store the username and password in a seure location... but in the first instance.... i am not able to get the data to laod to the tableview... I have tried a lot of things... 1. Initially the data fetch methods was in a diffrent methods.. so i thought that might be the problem as then moved it the same place as the tbleviewController(navigationController) 2. I event put in the Reload data at the end of the functionality for the data parsing and deserialization... nothing happens. 3. i did not understand the concept of @property and alll.... 4. The screen is black screen with nothing displayed on it for a good 5 seconds in the consecutive launches of the app.... so could we have something like a MBPorgressHUD implemented for the same. could any one please help for these scenarios and guidance as to what paths to take from here...

So Big-O would be O((2^n)*n) (since we drop the constant 2)... is that correct? And n*(2^n) is worse than n^2. if n = 4 then (4*(2^4)) = 64 (4^2) = 16 if n = 100 then (10*(2^10)) = 10240 (10^2) = 100 2. Is there a faster way to generate a power set, or is this about optimal?

  I have been using uniplate and SYB and I am trying to transform a list For instance type Tree = [DataA] data DataA = DataA1 [DataB] | DataA2 String | DataA3 String [DataA] deriving Show data DataB = DataB1 [DataA] | DataB2 String | DataB3 String [DataB] deriving Show For instance, I would like to traverse my tree and append a value to all [DataB] So my first thought was to do this: changeDataB:: Tree -> Tree changeDataB = everywhere(mkT changeDataB') chanegDataB'::[DataB] -> [DataB] changeDataB' <add changes here> or if I was using uniplate changeDataB:: Tree -> Tree changeDataB = transformBi changeDataB' chanegDataB'::[DataB] -> [DataB] changeDataB' <add changes here> The problem is that I only want to search on the full list. Doing either of these searches will cause a search on the full list and all of the sub-lists (including the empty list) The other problem is that a value in [DataB] may generate a [DataB], so I don't know if this is the same kind of solution as not searching chars in a string. I could pattern match on DataA1 and DataB3, but in my real application there are a bunch of [DataB]. Pattern matching on the parents would be extensive. The other thought that I had was to create a data DataBs = [DataB] and use that to transform on. That seems kind of lame, there must be a better solution.

• Android Bluetooth syncing

  I am connecting to a bluetooth enabled camera, and I am able to connect using the methods found in the BluetoothChat example. I need to send commands to the camera. The issue is that I also need to get a response BACK from the camera after I send the command in the first place. So basically I need to write a command and receive a response. However, the thing is that the commands sometimes don't generate a response. Even the documentation on the camera says that you "have to send the sync command as many as 25 times on power up before you will get a response." So I cannot just write a command and wait for a response, as the "read" function blocks the thread. If I have the read function in another thread, like the bluetooth chat example, there seems to be sync issues, i.e., if I issue a write command, how can I know that it is reading if that is happening in another thread? I did set a global variable to check for, but this seems "iffy" at best. So basically I need to write to the bluetooth and then attempt to read from it. However, I need to let that read timeout and if I haven't received a response, I need to write again until I get a response (or until it's tried a set number of times). I don't need the read function to be going all the time in the background. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your time.

• How to configure multiple mappings using FluentHibernate?

  First time rocking it with NHibernate/Fluent so apologies in advance if this is a naive question. I have a set of Models I want to map. When I create my session factory I'm trying to do all mappings at once. I am not using auto-mapping (though I may if what I am trying to do ends up being more painful than it ought to be). The problem I am running into is that it seems only the top map is taking. Given the code snippet below and running a unit test that attempts to save 'bar', it fails and checking the logs I see NHibernate is trying to save a bar entity to the foo table. While I suspect it's my mappings it could be something else that I am simply overlooking. • How can I keep the the logic to translate a ViewModel's values to a Where clause to apply to a linq query out of My Controller?

  This same problem keeps cropping up. I have a viewModel that doesn't have any persistent backing. It is just a ViewModel to generate a search input form. I want to build a large where clause from the values the user entered. If the Action Accepts as a parameter SearchViewModel How do I do this without passing my viewModel to my service layer? Service shouldn't know about ViewModels right? Oh and if I serialize it, then it would be a big string and the key/values would be strongly typed. SearchViewModel this is just a snippet.   I'm writing an app that, at its heart, uses a hierarchical tree of nodes in XML, it looks like this: <node> <name>Node1</name> <Attribute1>Something</Attribute1> <Attribute2>SomethingElse</Attribute2> <child>Node2</child> <child>Node4</child> <child>Node7</child> </node> And so on (all child elements must refer to an existing node, though the node inquestion doesnt have to precede the first reference to it) For a simple structure like this is there a simple tool to generate a html page that will allow a user to enter Nodes and dynamically update a server-side xml file? Im basically writing a tool that will use such a file, but the people who's job it is to create the file arent especially techno-literate, so creating the XML by hand is a no-no. I could hand-crank one fairly quickly, but if I can get a tool to do it, even better (especially as the format may change in future)....

• Determining Best Table Structure for MySQL Performance

  I'm working on a browser-based RPG for one of my websites, and right now I'm trying to determine the best way to organize my SQL tables for performance and maintenance. Here's my question: Does the number of columns in an SQL table affect the speed in which it can be queried? I am not a newbie when it comes to PHP or MySQL. I used to develop things with the common goal of getting them to work, but I've recently advanced to the stage where a functional program is not good enough unless it's fast and reliable. Anyways, right now I have a members table that has around 15 columns. It contains information such as the player's username, password, email, logins, page views, etcetera. It doesn't contain any information on the player's progress in the game, however. If I added columns for things such as army size, gold, turns, and whatnot, then it could easily rise to around 40 or 50 total columns. Oh, and my database structure IS normalized. Will a table with 50 columns that gets constantly queried be a bad idea? Should I split it into two tables; one for the user's general information and one for the user's game statistics? I know I could check the query time myself, but I haven't actually created the tables yet and I think I'd be better off with some professional advice on this important decision for my game. • How would I authenticate against a local windows user on another machine in an ASP.NET application?

  In my ASP.NET application, I need to be able to authenticate/authorise against local Windows users/groups (ie. not Active Directory) on a different machine, as well as be able to change the passwords of said remote local Windows accounts. Yes, I know Active Directory is built for this sort of thing, but unfortunately the higher ups have decreed it needs to be done this way (so authentication against users in a database is out as well). I've tried using DirectoryEntry and WinNT like so: DirectoryEntry user = new DirectoryEntry(String.Format("WinNT://{0}/{1},User", serverName, username), username, password, AuthenticationTypes.Secure) but this results in an exception when you try to log in more than one user: Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more than one user name, are not allowed. Disconnect all previous connections to the server or shared resource and try again. I've tried making sure my DirectoryEntries are used inside a using block, so they're disposed properly, but this doesn't seem to fix the issue. Plus, even if that did work it is possible that two users could hit that line of code concurrently and therefore try to create multiple connections, so it would be fragile anyway. Is there a better way to authenticate against local Windows accounts on a remote machine, authorise against their groups, and change their passwords? Thanks for your help in advance.

  Hello, I have written a little brute string generation script in python to generate all possible combinations of an alphabet within a given length. It works quite nice, but for the reason I wan't it to be faster I try to port it to C++. The problem is that my C++ Code is creating far too much combination for one word. Heres my example in python: ./test.py gives me aaa aab aac aad aa aba .... while ./test (the c++ programm gives me) aaa aaa aaa aaa aa Here I also get all possible combinations, but I get them twice ore more often. • Permutations distinct under given symmetry (Mathematica 8 group theory)

  Given a list of integers like {2,1,1,0} I'd like to list all permutations of that list that are not equivalent under given group. For instance, using symmetry of the square, the result would be {{2, 1, 1, 0}, {2, 1, 0, 1}}. Approach below (Mathematica 8) generates all permutations, then weeds out the equivalent ones. I can't use it because I can't afford to generate all permutations, is there a more efficient way? Update: actually, the bottleneck is in DeleteCases. The following list {2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 0, 0, 0} has about a million permutations and takes 0.1 seconds to compute.   When working with Crystal Report Field Objects and attempting to set "EnableSuppress" to False or alter the position or width of a field object is generating an "Invalid Object Format Name" error. The debugger shows all my code running without error until attempting to actually load the report. At that point, it will run the first couple without problem, then it fails when messing with a field object, and none of the rest will run. The code is shown below. Everything that generates an error is a FieldObject, but not all fieldObjects generate errors. In the code below, everything in Section2 is a TextObject and everything in Section3 is a FieldObject.   I would like to use Esper to generate episodes of events. I am trying to detect the changes in robot movement during each time period and was wondering what would be the best way of implementation. The rules for generation of episodes from the events would be If the new event time(eg. 7sec, robot A) of a robot is more than 3 sec than the latest event(eg. 3 sec, robot A) of the same robot, the new event belongs to a new episode. Each episode should represent only one robot (eg. 2sec, robotA and 3sec, robotB should output 2 episodes) Input data: Event Time Robot Position 1 1 A 0 2 2 A 1 3 6 A 2 Output data should be: Array[0]={Event 1,Event 2} Array[1]={Event 3} //more than 3 sec Input data: Event Time Robot Position 1 1 A 0 2 2 A 1 3 4 B 0 4 6 A 2 Output data should be: Array[0]={Event 1,Event 2} Array[1]={Event 3} //different robot Array[2]={Event 4} Please help provide suggestions. I have tried using mulitple listeners, one for each robot, to create episodes and it works but I am trying to use a single EPL statement to do it. I have tried win:time_accum(3sec) group by robot but the second example output: Array[0]={Event 1,Event 2, Event 4} Array[1]={Event 3} as the time window is shifted everytime an event comes in, the system still thinks that event 4 is less than 3 sec due to event 3. how do I create a unique time window for each robot?   I am generating a table dynamically using Django. The same table template is used to generate a variety of tables depending on the data supplied. In one scenario a particular column contains image tags. Since my table is editable (using jquery) the image cell also becomes editable and removes my content. I want some special behavior on double click of such cells like say upload an image. How do I accomplish this with a jquery? • cython setup.py gives .o instead of .dll

  Hi, I am a newbie to cython, so pardon me if I am missing something obvious here. I am trying to build c extensions to be used in python for enhanced performance. I have fc.py module with a bunch of function and trying to generate a .dll through cython using dsutils and running on win64: c:\python26\python c:\cythontest\setup.py build_ext --inplace I have the dsutils.cfg in C:\Python26\Lib\distutils. As required the disutils.cfg has the following config settings: [build] compiler = mingw32 My startup.py looks like this: from distutils.core import setup from distutils.extension import Extension from Cython.Distutils import build_ext ext_modules = [Extension('fc', [r'C:\cythonTest\fc.pyx'])] setup( name = 'FC Extensions', cmdclass = {'build_ext': build_ext}, ext_modules = ext_modules ) I have latest version mingw for target/host amdwin64 type builds. I have the latest version of cython for python26 for win64. Cython does give me an fc.c without errors, only a few warning for type conversions, which I will handle once I have it right. Further it produces fc.def an fc.o files Instead of giving a .dll. I get no errors. I find on threads that it will create the .so or .dll automatically as required, which is not happening.

  Hi, i'm making a questionnaire about a service quality, its contains the options (poor, regular, good, very good). It's contains 6 questions (radio button) and a suggestion box (textbox). In the table of the database i created 6 rows for questions, 1 for suggestion and 1 for date (a friend of mine tole me to use this but i didn't get why). q1) I'm going to atribute a value form 1 to 4 to the radio buttons options, and i'd like to sum every answer for each question, and then divide by the numbers of user that answered that question and give the mean. how am i supposed to to that? I'd also like generate reports of the month, of the year. q2) not only about the questionnaire but for registration too. I need all the fields to be completed, no blank options, if he don't complete all of fields it'll not be submitted and there will be a warning message to the user. q3) about the field type, i'd like it to be the same class that is in the database, i'm having a "problem". Ex: Name(varchar) : 1234(int), in the field 'name' of the table of the database 1234 will be shown as name, and i don't want this, i want only the type that i declared in the construction of the table. q4) i'd also like to know if it's possible to create pizza graphics, about the percentage of each question, is this possible? q5) I'm using phpmyadmin and some of my id's are auto_increment, but 'cause of my tests they at a high number, i'd like to restart to 0 the ids number, is this possible?   How do i introduce validation before remote_form_for submits? I have javascript function called validateForm(). I am able to call it before the AJAX request process. I tried to use return false and event.preventDefault. But there seems to be no effect. • How do I import facebook friends from another website

  I am looking for a way to connect to facebook by allowing the user to enter in their username and password and have our app connect to their account and get their contacts so that they can invite them to join their group on our site. I have written a facebook app before, but this is not an app as much as it is a connector so that they can invite all their friends or just some to the site we are working on. I have seen several other sites do this and also connect to Yahoo, Gmail and Hotmail contacts. I dont think they are using Facebook Connect to do this since it is so new, but they may be. Any solution in any language is fine as I can port whatever example to use C#. I cannot find anything specifically on Google or Facebook to address this specific problem. Any help is appreciated. I saw a first answer get removed that had suggested i might need to scrape the friends page. The more I look around, this might be what i need to do. Any other way i think will require the person to add it as an app. I am wondering how a answer can get removed, maybe that user deleted it.
