• java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError in eclipse

  Hi all, I am not a Java programmer really, so I am posting this question. The exception is being thrown java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError in my main class in an eclipse project. If I comment out the imports that this class has, it compiles and runs fine. If I put the imports back in, it does not work. Does this mean that the libraries I am importing were compiled with a newer or older version of java than I have? when i do java -version on the system i get 1.5_07 I could've sworn this was actually working last week, but maybe some setting in eclipse got tweaked? Is the Java Build Path in eclipse what I need to look for to check the JRE and compiler versions?

• Third-party dll's in a website layout

  I have a solution with several projects and one website. The website uses some third-party dll's. I have to place the dll's in the bin folder under the website. This is the same bin where the dll's from the other projects get auto-loaded. Is there a way I can place the third-party dll's in a separate folder? If I 'Add Reference' to the dll when it is in a separate folder, VS always adds it to the GAC. If the separate folder is outside of the website layout, 'Add Reference' never works. My goal is have the bin folder only for auto-updated dll's, and a separate folder for third-party dll's. [This method works fine for the projects; just the website has issues]

• IIS 7 Can't read data from ASP.Net application services tables

  Hi, I'm working on deploying a web application written in C# with ASP.Net Application services databases. The application runs fine on the development machine. Windows Server 2003 has been built to test the application. The database has been scripted across using MS SQL Server GUI. ASP.Net application services tables were created using an utility. The connection strings are stored in the web.config and connectionStrings.config. The application connects to the database successfully, but then it times out after 10 seconds.

• NavBar displaying back twice when app changed to landscape mode

  Hi, Not sure what's going on here, but my iPhone apps nav bar shows back and the title of my detail view controller even when I'm back to the original view. It wasn't happening earlier, it has changed recently (but not sure when exactly). E.g. I click on a row, view the didSelectRow XIB and then click back on the NavBar controller, but it still shows back even though the view does change back to the original table view. I then have to press back again and then it clears. Update: It's as if its trying to go back three times instead of two. Because, if you visit another row without removing the back button, it stores it as if you need to go back twice. It works fine in portrait mode. Any ideas?

• Check whether Excel file is Password protected

  I am trying to open an Excel (xlsm) file via VBA. It may or may not be protected with a (known) password. I am using this code: On Error Resume Next Workbooks.Open filename, Password:=user_entered_pw opened = (Err.Number=0) On Error Goto 0 Now, this works fine if the workbook has a password. But if it is unprotected, it can NOT be opened. Apparently this is a bug in XL2007 if there is also workbook structure protection active. (http://vbaadventures.blogspot.com/2009/01/possible-error-in-excel-2007.html). On old XL2003, supplying a password would open both unprotected and password protected file. I tried: Workbooks.Open filename, Password:=user_entered_pw If (Err.Number <> 0) Then workbooks.open filename This works for unprotected and protected file. However if the user enters a wrong password it runs into the second line and pops up the "enter password" prompt, which I do not want. How to get around this?

• Teamcity NTLM Authentication change - admin user lost in transition

  I've switched in teamcity from using basic authentication to using NTLM, on an existing installation. This works fine, except that the admin user didn't have a corresponding NT account, and so doesn't work on the NTLM configuration. (It is easy to roll back, so it is not a stress). My question is - what is the command to set a user to admin manually - ie modifying the database? (like this: TeamCity forgotten admin password - where to look?) but changing the role of a user to global system administrator.

• Uri for bitmap in subfolder (c# wpf)

  I have a wpf app where I'm using an image. To reference the image I use: Uri uri = new Uri("pack://application:,,,/assemblyName;Component/myIcon.png"); BitmapImage(uri) If I add the png directly under the csproj file (with its properties BuildAction=Resource) then it works fine. But I want to move it to a subfolder under the csproj. Another SO question asked about bitmaps\uri's (857732) and an answer linked to this msdn. So I tried : Uri uri = new Uri("pack://application:,,,/assemblyName;Component/Icons/myIcon.png"); But that did not work. Any ideas?

Now, the script would install an application on Machine_B from Machine_A, it works fine as long as you have the msi file on the local drive of the Target machine (Machine_B, in this case). • Programming issue while applying text to the third party control.

  Hello I have used some third party controls in my windows application. There is a snippet which is being used in our code which re-initializes all the .text property of all the controls on the form. Everything works fine except for a control. This control is similar to the Windows Panel except for it has a dropdown appearance. This control has .Caption property instead of .Text property associated to it. This causes the problem whenever i use such codes foreach (Control oControl in this.Controls) { if (oControl is DropDownPanel) { { oControl.Text = rm_ResourceManager.GetString(oControl.Name + ".Text"); } } } The text is not set here for the DropDownPanel control in the above method. Since .Text is not available for DropDownPanel control. I cannot do the following either .. ((DropDownPanel)oControl).Caption = rm_ResourceManager.GetString(oControl.Name + ".Text"); Cos it shall throw exception if i try to cast oControl with that of DropDownPanel Any ideas how can i overcome such a condition.   There is currently this Prototype code that does a PUT: new Ajax.Request(someUrl, { method: 'put', parameters: { 'foo': bar }, onSuccess: function(response) { } .bind(this) }); I found this post but the solution uses an extra parameter supported by RoR, however I am targeting an ASP.NET backend. I searched a bit and found that not all browsers support PUT operations so apparently this could fail in certain browsers? This is already in prod, so a direct port would be fine for now I suppose. As an aside, what is the deal with the bind(this) in the onSuccess function?

• Wanted red color for text in the error message in the log file

  Hello Everyone, I have a question but not sure it is possible or not. I am using apache logger for my logging which creates a log file which works fine with no issues.my question is when i open the log file i get the different messages like messages with INFO,DEBGU,ERROR etc. But i wanted to see the error message in red color in text in my logger file.. is it possible? So in that way if some one opens my log file if some thing is there in red they can clearly can guess that it is an error message.. Is it possible.. • ValidatorEnable is not defined when rolled with AJAX

  I have some webforms which have been working fine with various static and dynamically generated validators. For some reason now that I have implemented UpdatePanels on the forms, when I manually call the ValidatorEnable() method on one of them (when I click a checkbox) I get the "ValidatorEnable is not defined" error message. I am passing the same clientID etc into the method that I was using before I implemented the AJAX.net controls It would seem .net isnt rendering the /WebResource.axd?d=aUu4P3dfjWWyw3KQ9t2ZdqxnzYhrtq9uWWiRZduXE-g1 script to the page, adding it manually I get other missing JS objects. So how can I force it to register the relevant scripts? N.B. The validators in question are being rendered in a repeater

• C++ iostream not setting eof bit even if gcount returns 0

  Hi I'm developping an application under windows, and i'm using fstreams to read and write to the file. I'm writing with fstream opened like this : fs.open(this->filename.c_str(), std::ios::in|std::ios::out|std::ios::binary); and writing with this command fs.write(reinterpret_cast<char*>(&e.element), sizeof(T)); closing the file after each write with fs.close() Reading with ifstream opened like this : is.open(filename, std::ios::in); and reading with this command : is.read(reinterpret_cast<char*>(&e.element), sizeof(T)); The write is going fine. However, i read in a loop this way : while(!is.eof()) { is.read(reinterpret_cast<char*>(&e.element), sizeof(T)); } and the program keeps reading, even though the end of file should be reached. istellg pos is 0, and gcount is equal to 0 too, but the fail bit and eof bit are both ok. I'm running crazy over this, need some help ...

• How to build a Video Broadcaster, which can handle more than 20,000 viewers

  I want to broadcast Video from a web cam, over internet. The problem is, the Video will be viewed live by more than 20,000 people (expected). I have a very little experience with Red5 Broadcasting. I did some broadcasting using Red5 and Flash. It works fine for 1 or 2 viewers i.e. it is great for personal chatting/ video conferencing applications. But, when the number of viewers increases, the delay in Broadcasting also increases. I am experiencing a Delay addition of about 0.5 Seconds for every new user who joins the broadcast. Can any one suggest me some, better technologies on which I can work out this Live Broadcasting. I don't want to use http://www.ustream.com; I want to create one of my own, such tool. But thats always the last solution.

  I am developing an Excel addin that has an udf and calls it as a worksheet function. It is a com addin where I am using the IDTExtensibility2 interface and set the class interface type as autodual and then shim it as in the link http://blogs.msdn.com/andreww/archive/2006/07/23/excel-interop-types-in-shimmed-automation-add-ins.aspx Things work fine in my development machine but I am having a tough time packaging the assembly. The addin registers but the formula does not appear in the formula bar of Excel after the installation. Can someone help me with the right way to get it done ? • How to load secure S3 images into Flex with temporary URLs

  I have some secure images on S3 that I need to load into Flex. I was expecting to be able to do this using signed temporary URLs but can't get it working. I know the URLs I'm generating are correct, because they load fine in my browsers' address bar. Moreover, Flex has no problem loading my images with a non-signed url when they are public, but as soon as I try signing the urls all the images fail, whether public or not. I've tried image.source = signedURL, image.load(signedURL), etc. If I try loading the file with URLLoader/URLStream, it looks like I'm getting the data OK, but I'm not sure how to translate those results to an Image control. Is this just an issue with the Image control not being able to recognize signed urls? Do I have to load the image from a byte array? What would that look like?

At present I am using .equals() for comparing equality of objects .It is working fine when I am comparing quality for two strings. • Unwanted virtual keyboard in Blackberry app

  I have developed a Blackberry app for the 4.5 os series. It works fine on all device except on the storm 1 (storm2 untested). The problem (on the storm) is that the main screen of my application (and all other screens in fact) is shown with the virtual keybord. But there is no text field displayed on the screen that would justify the VK to show up. I have bitmap fields and button fields only on that screen. The use of a single program for all devices (4.5 and up) is seriously preferred. What is causing the VK to show up and what can I do to prevent it (in JDE 4.5)?

• Facebook Iframe App in Safari links to home page. Works OK in other Browsers.

  I have a facebook iframe that has several php files in it. In all tested browsers (IE,FFOX,Chrome) the links on the header work fine and go to the php files inside the iframe. When I tried this on Safari the links are reloading the whole app inside the iframe. Is like a recursive call because Its not like im having the home page reloaded inside the iframe but the whole facebook page WITH the iframe.. reloaded inside my iframe. The links are called using javascript with document.location.href="myPage.php"; Tryed placing target "_self" inside the link but this turned out weird : the iframe page was placed on top of everything, as if I had specified "_parent" on the target. Any help?

• Blackberry Widget Packager saves my files in strange places

  I have just installed the Blackberry Widget Packager and Blackberry Web Plug-In for Eclipse, and everything works fine, but my files are output to strange places. For example, I tried putting my zipped source files in the folder Blackberry Widget Packager/web and I got an error during packaging. Packaging works when the .zip is in the same directory as wwbp, though. When a widget is successfully created, the executable .jar file and the .rapc files are put in some stupid folder like users/user/temp/widgetname094098456, and the other files are split between two folders in Blackberry Widget Packager/bin. This is slightly annoying as I don't want to be spending time herding my files. Anyone have any thoughts on why my files are being scattered like this?

• What causes subprocess.call to output blank file when attempting db export with mysqldump?

  I am having some problems using subprocess.call to export a database using mysqldump. I'm using Python 3.1 installed on Windows 7. from time import gmtime, strftime import subprocess DumpDir = "c:/apps/sqlbackup/"; DumpFile = "mysqldump-" + strftime("%Y-%m-%d-%H-%M-%S", gmtime()) + ".sql"; params = [r"mysqldump --user root --password=mypassword --force --flush-privileges --compress --comments mydatabase --result-file=" + DumpDir + DumpFile]; subprocess.call(params, shell=True); The above code causes a blank file to be created in the DumpDir. I've tried getting python to print the command so I can test it via the CMD prompt using: print(subprocess.list2cmdline(params)); If I paste the output to the CMD prompt and execute it, everything works fine. Any ideas? I'm new to Python, so I am sure the answer is simple but I've tried so many variations to get this working that I just can't figure this out.

• Loading contents of TableView Controller after showing Tab

  Hello, I have a 4 tabbar application. The second tab has a tableviewController. When i select the second tab the tableview is displayed with it's contents and it works fine. The problem is that that data is comming from the network and it talks 2-3 seconds to load. So when i press the second tab it goes there after the contents have been loaded. How can i show an empty tableview (i'll put an activity indicator) and then load and show the contents? Teo
