It will return the value 1, -1 or 0. If your value is negative it will return you negative -1 and if it is positive it will return you positive +1. Let us start with a simple small example. Template Browser – A Very Important and Useful Feature of SSMS Templates are like a quick cheat sheet or quick reference. Templates are available to create objects like databases, tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, triggers, statistics, and functions. Templates are also available for Analysis Services as well. The template scripts contain parameters to help you customize the code. You can Replace Template Parameters dialog box to insert values into the script. An invalid floating point operation occurred If you run any of the above functions they will give you an error related to invalid floating point. Honestly there is no workaround except passing the function appropriate values. SQRT of a negative number will give you result in real numbers which is not supported at this point of time as well LOG of a negative number is not possible (because logarithm is the inverse function of an exponential function and the exponential function is NEVER negative). Validating Spatial Object with IsValidDetailed Function SQL Server 2012 has introduced the new function IsValidDetailed(). This function has made my life very easy. In simple words, this function will check if the spatial object passed is valid or not. If it is valid it will give information that it is valid. If the spatial object is not valid it will return the answer that it is not valid and the reason for the same. This makes it very easy to debug the issue and make the necessary correction.     Windows Phone Developer Tools 7.1 Beta 2 was released on 6/29/2011. Are you ready for it? If not then let my guide help you get your system prepared and go through a few new features. Download links: Web Installer of Windows Phone 7.1 Beta 2 SDK ISO Image of Windows Phone 7.1 Beta 2 SDK - (723 MB) To get started you are going to need to remove the previous version of your Windows Phone Developer Tools 7.1 Beta 1.   This kicks off the process of uninstalling the Beta.   Once it is uninstalled then you are going to want to grab the bits from: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=26648. The only thing your interested in here is the vm_web2.exe.   Make sure before you start that Zune is not running or you will get this error message like this one and have to restart from scratch. Now just go through your normal Install Screens. It should be installed and ready to go: A couple of things to note: 1) When creating a new phone application you now have several new templates to choose from as shown below. I welcome this addition because I’m a firm believer that we need more templates in order to get more people started. 2) Once you select an application template you can now pick which version of the Windows Phone platform that you wish to target: 3) If you created a WP7 7.1 Beta 1 project that it will still work properly in WP7 7.1 Beta 2. 4) You now have access to the search app icon. Once pressed then you will see something like this: 5) Under Settings –> Applications. You now have background tasks. 6) You will notice that the Web Browser looks a little different with the URL now located at the bottom of the screen and completely removing the “add”, “favorites” and “tabs” icon.     Recently I came across Quickly. A very nice thing Ubuntu is doing in order to simplify creation of good looking applications that integrates well with Ubuntu desktop in every respect. While the demo was so cool and even motived me to learn Python, I am only familiar with Ruby. I would really love if there is a way to make Quickly do similar thing with Ruby. I read something about templates; but couldn't locate much details.

    My game as-is is using IrrlichtLime, which I'm beginning to dislike because it hides a lot of implementation and makes adding your own implementation incredibly complex. I don't really need the scene manager for anything and the only animation I need is manual (i.e. transforming the bones programmatically). However, I've only ever used XNA in the past as a starting point with the templates. How would I take my current project and add XNA to it?
