  • JavaCC for .NET?

  • .NET JIT Code Cache leaking?

    We have a server component written in .Net 3.5. It runs as service on a Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition. It works great but after some time (days) we notice massive slowdowns and an increased working set. We expected some kind of memory leak and used WinDBG/SOS to analyze dumps of the process. Unfortunately the GC Heap doesn’t show any leak but we noticed that the JIT code heap has grown from 8MB after the start to more than 1GB after a few days. We don’t use any dynamic code generation techniques by our own. We use Linq2SQL which is known for dynamic code generation but we don’t know if it can cause such a problem. The main question is if there is any technique to analyze the dump and check where all this Host Code Heap blocks that are shown in the WinDBG dumps come from? [Update] In the mean time we did some more analysis and had Linq2SQL as probable suspect, especially since we do not use precompiled queries.   • SQL join produces one result only

    Can anyone please tell me why this result is generation only one results? taking in mind that everything is set right and the three tables are populated correctly, i took out the group_concat and it worked but of course with a php undefined index error!   • Adding metadata attributes to MySQL table

    I would like to add custom attributes to a MySQL table which I can read via php. These attributes are not to interfere with the table itself - they are primarily accessed by php code during code generation time and these attributes HAVE to reside in the DB itself. Something similar in concept to .NET reflection. Does MySQL support anything like this? Thanks.

    Hi everyone, is there any conventional way in swing of tracking down the events, when two keyboard keys are pressed at the same time? I have a couple of ideas e.g. remembering the key and event generation time so that we could in a consecutive event handler invocation check the time difference between these two events and decide, whether it's a two-button event or not. Phew. But it looks like a kludge. Thanks in advance.

  • Ndepend reports not showing up in CruiseControl Dashboard

    I am currently in the process of setting up ndepend report generation as part of Continuous Integration build process using CruiseControl.Net, I have followed the instructions outlined in ThoughtWorks Website. The ndepend tasks runs fine and the reports are generated correctly but when I goto the dashboard and try to bring up the ndepend reports, nothing comes up (it displays blank). Does the cruisecontrol dashboard application expects the ndepend report in a particular file under the working folder or the artifact folder ?

  • Multiple tables on one page with prawn

    Hey, I'm using prawn for pdf generation and everything works quite well, but now I'm having a bit of a problem. When I put multiple tables on one page, they just get put over each other and not under each other. Is this normal behaviour and what can I do about it?     Hi! Is there an easy way to get the relative compliment of two sets? Perhaps using LINQ? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Complement_(set_theory) I have to find the relative compliment of a set A relative to B. Both A and B are of type HashSet but I think the algorithm could be made more generation (IEnumerable or even ISet)? I could use a solution in either vb.net or C#.

  • Can an algorithmic process ever give true random numbers ?

    I have worked with random functions in python,ruby, MATLAB, Bash and Java. Nearly every programming language has a function to generate Random numbers. However, these apparently random sequences are termed as pseudo-random number sequences as the generation follows a deterministic approach, and the sequence seems to repeat (usually with a very large period). My question, can an algorithmic/programming process ever yield true random numbers ? The questions probably is more of theoretical computer science than just programming !
