Is there a good book which I can follow tolearn modelling/doing architecture? Good samples?
What would you do if you have tolearn modelling from very basics?
Thanks
I am new to ASP.NET Development and can't decide between developing with Webforms or MVC 2. Nevermind the pros and cons of each. I've seen mixed opinions of each. But which method would be the best for someone who has no prior experience in ASP.NET or C#?
If your answer is: learn both, then which should I learn first? MVC 2 or Webforms?

Hi everybody, I decide tolearn OPEN-GL ES for IPHONE development, but I know nothing about graphics programing. So I've some questions.
1 I know OPEN-GL ES is a series of open standard API. IPHONE still use these standard API or apple define it's own API for OPENGL ES?
2 Before I start tolearn OPEN-GL ES, I think I should be familiar with OPEN-GL. Am I right?
I've decided that today - as soon as this question is answered, in fact - I'm going to dive into learning HTML.
But, looking online, I've noticed there are many types: HTML, XHTML, HTML5, and so on.
So, which should I start with? In what order should I learn them?
And, for that first language, where should I learn at?
I didn't know any better name for a title of the question.
For ex: on one of my previous questions one answered ((a)-(b))&0x80000000) 31 - this is kind of a too advanced for me and i can't really get what it means. I am not looking just for an answer of that, but i need someone to tell me some books/sites/whatever where i can learn this cool "advanced" tricks in C - and learn how and where to use them respectively too.
First I went and purchased:
Beginning iPhone Development: Exploring the iPhone SDK
And it said I should know Objective-C
Then I went and purchased Learn Objective–C on the Mac by Mark Dalrymple, Scott Knaster
And it said I should know C
then now I'm at the beginning with Learn C on the Mac by Dave Mark
So this is the long journey I need to take to finally start producing actually GOOD apps for the iPhone
C OBJECTIVE-C APPS?
I've been convinced that I should learn another language (primarily PHP/Javascript oriented) and decided on Java.
I learned my basics of PHP, years ago, from www.w3schools.com and Javascript from another similar site (since taken down) that had a series of tutorials that took you from nothing to something.
Is there a similar site for Java? Is there a recommended IDE (Eclipse?) and site to learn?
I'm not a fan of these learn how to program in X amount of days books. Some even boast, learn how to program in 24 hours. This is a joke and an insult to me as a software engineer who went through a rigorous discipline in computer science and mathematics.
So a question to the community, have you benefited from these become a programmer quick books?

I generally need to do a fair amount of text processing for my research, such as removing the last token from all lines, extracting the first 2 tokens from each line, splitting each line into tokens, etc.
What is the best way to perform this ? Should I learn Perl for this? Or should I learn some kind of shell commands? The main concern is speed. If I need to write long code for such stuff, it defeats the purpose.

I'm beginning tolearn mobile programming on the Android platform. I'm up for working with any particular base SDK. I just want to hear some suggestions from the community about what types of applications I should start with to help learn more advanced interactions with the platform.
There are of course the Standard Hello World, calculator, etc. But by now I am bored with all of those.

Hello,
I want to improve my chances getting a job (entry-level:programming) by learning another language.
How many jobs that require exclusively French, German, English are there ?
Which is better tolearn (more/better jobs): French or German ?
Is it worth it (or should I learn another programming language instead :D) ?
Thank you.
P.S I live in Romania, I (think I) know English

I am currently automating smoke tests and I am trying tolearn how to manually insert assertions with C# into the UImap.Designer.cs file. I am trying tolearn how to do this manually but I have no direction on where to put the assertions and all the literature I am finding only covers how to add assertions with the CodedUI Test Builder tool that is included with VS2010. Can anyone direct me to where I need to insert the assertions?

Anything else I should learnto do this?

BTW: I am headache about the coordination transformation matrix, it is great if the tutorial could cover this topic.
