    Hi I have an XML (in the form of tree), I require to create sub-tree out of it. For ex: <a> <b> <c>Hello</c> <d> <e>Hi</e> </a> Subtree would be <root> <a> <b> <c>Hello</c> </b> </a> <a> <d> <e>Hi</e> </d> </a> </root> What is the best XML library in python to do it? Any algorithm that already does this would also be helpful. Note: the XML doc won't be that big, it will easily fit in memory.

  • Unknown error when creating packages with pkgbuild

    I followed several tutorials-which all appeared to say the same thing-on how to create deployable flat-packages (.pkg) using the OS X system provided pkgbuild tool. The packages was always generated just fine. They did, however, not want to be installed. Running the graphical Apple Installer or the command line interface installer aborted the installation early on giving an generic “Unknown error” after prompting for higher permissions. Hours later after closer investigation I discovered that I could not install other packages either. Not even updates and new installations from the OS X App Store. Why could I not install my own nor any other packages? What was going on?

    Hello, I have the problem that I have created a delegate protocol, but the necessary methods are not executed, although I have implemented the protocol in my header file. Here are the detailed explanation: I created an instance of my ViewController (TimeLineViewController), which will be displayed. This ViewController contains a UITableView, which in turn receives the individual Cells / Rows from one instance of my TableViewCell. So the ViewController creates an instance of TableCellView. The TableViewCell contains a UITextView, which contains web links. Now I want, that not safari opens the links, but my own built-in browser. Unfortunately TableViewCell can not open a new ViewController with a WebView, so I decided to create a delegate protocol. I try to use [_delegate loadWeb]; in the subclass of the UITextView (because that is the only way i can react on the weblinks) and the subclass can´t use [_delegate loadWeb];. I tried this in a other methode and it worked.

    I thought it would be a cool experiment to have a for loop and create a file hello.txt and then delete it with unlink. I figured that if fs.unlink is the delete file procedure in Node, then fs.link must be the create file. However, my code will only delete, and it will not create, not even once. Even if I separate the fs.link code into a separate file, it still will not create my file hello.txt.   • Suggestion for creating custom sound recognition software to toggle audio

    I need to develop a program that toggles a particular audio track on or off when it recognizes a parrot scream or screech. The software would need to recognize a particular range of sounds and allow some variations in the range (as a parrot likely won't replicate its sreeches EXACTLY each time). Example: Bird screeches, no audio. Bird stops screeching for five seconds, audio track praising the bird plays. Regular chattering needs to be ignored completely, as it is not to be discouraged. I've heard of java libraries that have speech recognition with dictionaries built in, but the software would need to be taught the particular sounds that my particular parrot makes - not words or any random bird sound. In addition as I mentioned above, it would need to allow for slight variation in the sound, as the screech will likely never be 100% identical to the recorded version. What would be the best way to go about this/what language should I look into?

However, if I use the following approach I end up with all values of the table in one column, separated by commas: -- call function using all values in a column SELECT _tmp_myfunction(t.id) FROM transactions as t; I understand that I can get the same result if I use SELECT _tmp_myfunction(402); instead of SELECT * FROM _tmp_myfunction(402); but I don't know how to construct my query in such a way that I can separate out the results.

  • Android: Having trouble creating a subclass of application to share data with multiple Activities

    Hello, I just finished a couple of activities in my game and now I was going to start to wire them both up to use real game data, instead of the test data I was using just to make sure each piece worked. Since multiple Activities will need access to this game data, I started researching the best way to pass this data to my Activities. I know about using putExtra with intents, but my GameData class has quite a bit of data and not just simple key value pairs. Besides quite a few basic data types, it also has large arrays. I didn't really want to try and pass all that, unless I can pass the entire object, instead of just key/data pairs. I read the following post and thought it would be the way to go, but so far, I haven't got it to work. Android: How to declare global variables? I created a simple test app to try this method out, but it keeps crashing and my code seems to look the same as in the post above - except I changed the names. Here is the error I am getting.     Hello, I'm trying to create a class that can instantiate arrays at runtime by giving each array a "name" created by the createtempobjectname() method. I'm having trouble making this program run. I would also like to see how I could access specific objects that were created during runtime and accessing those arrays by either changing value or accessing them.   • Automatically creating C# wrappers from c headers?

    Is there a way to automatically create p/invoke wrappers for .net from a c header? Of course I could create them by hand, but maintaining them would be painful, and I'd probably make a mistake somewhere resulting in hard to debug crashes. I tried SWIG, but it created full classes where simple structs would be sufficient. I'd prefer if the output worked on mono too, but that is not necessary.

Before I start trying to create the correct loops etc to create and style the table, i thought i best ask if there are already good jquery plugins / php classes create this visual interface and uncluttered enough to allow me to add a select date range method (like Google Analytics)? I'm looking for something to create a basic calendar table on a loop, which i can then style and add jquery features. Though worth asking if there's a complete package that already does what i plan on making?!! (jquery ui's date-picker doesn't look powerful enough / easy enough to modify)

It seems that the button regions are disorder. This means, that the buttons also response if I click besides the button.... Please help me.     In my application I have two queries which will be quite frequently used. The Where clauses of these queries are the following: WHERE FieldA = @P1 AND (FieldB = @P2 OR FieldC = @P2) and WHERE FieldA = @P1 AND FieldB = @P2 P1 and P2 are parameters entered in the UI or coming from external datasources. FieldA is an int and highly on-unique, means: only two, three, four different values in a table with say 20000 rows FieldB is a varchar(20) and is "almost" unique, there will be only very few rows where FieldB might have the same value FieldC is a varchar(15) and also highly distinct, but not as much as FieldB FieldA and FieldB together are unique (but do not form my primary key, which is a simple auto-incrementing identity column with a clustered index) I'm wondering now what's the best way to define an index to speed up specifically these two queries. Shall I define one index with... FieldB (or better FieldC here?) FieldC (or better FieldB here?) FieldA ... or better two indices: FieldB FieldA and FieldC FieldA Or are there even other and better options? What's the best way and why? Thank you for suggestions in advance!

    Hi, I'm trying to use the Google Calendar Java API to create a secondary calendar for a Google apps user. The relevant code is: // Initialise the API client CalendarService googleCalendar = new GCalendarService("canimo.ca"); googleCalendar.setUserCredentials("[email protected]", "secret"); // Create the calendar CalendarEntry cal = new CalendarEntry(); cal.title = new PlainTextConstruct(user.email); cal.summary = new PlainTextConstruct("Collection calendar"); cal.timeZone = new TimeZoneProperty("America/Montreal"); cal.hidden = HiddenProperty.FALSE; googleCalendar.insert(CALENDAR_URL, calendar); The call to insert() above results in com.google.gdata.util.ServiceException: Internal Server Error and no calendar is created. If I try and perform the same operation through the Google calendar website, it also fails with the error message: We could not save changes. Please try again in a few minutes. An obvious conclusion is that there's some problem on Google's side, but this has been going on for several days now. Strangely, if I create a new user, everything works fine for a while. I can create calendars via the website, and download them via the API. But as soon as I try and create a new calendar using the API, I get the exception above, and thereafter can't create new calendars using either the website or the API. Thanks, Don

  • Creating a RESTful service in CakePHP

    I'm attempting to create a RESTful service in CakePHP but I've hit a bit of a brick wall. I've enabled the default RESTful routing using Router::mapResources('users') and Router::parseExtensions(). This works well if I make a GET request, and returns some nicely formatted XML. So far so good. The problem is if I want to make a POST or PUT request. CakePHP doesn't seem to be able to read the data from the request. At the moment my add(), edit() and delete() actions don't contain any logic, they're simply setting $this-data to the view. I'm testing with the following cURL command: curl -v -d "<user><username>blahblah</username><password>blahblah</password>" http://localhost/users.xml --header 'content-type: text/xml' Which only returns a 404 header. If I remove the --header parameter then it returns the view but no data is set. It feels like I'm missing something obvious here. Any ideas?
