    I'm making a slide out menu with HTML and CSS3 - especially transitions. I would like to know what is best practice / best performance to slide a relatively positioned div horizontally. When i click a button it adds a class to my div. Which class is better?   • Django openid authentication with google

    Hello I am looking into authenticating via google. I dont understand how it works:http://code.google.com/apis/accounts/docs/OpenID.html#Samples If i do that 2nd request by entering the data as one url with params into browser i get back XML file. Should i not get back sample response nr3? Can somebody explain this to me? The problem is, that im trying to sort through some third party app that uses google openid authentication and its not recieving authenticated users e-mail back, like in sample response 3.   • Importing contacts into the GAL

    I have a list of People and E-Mail addresses that my client would like to be able to download and then import into their GAL (Global Address List) in Outlook. Right now it is in a DataGrid. Several questions... Is that possible? What format do I need to put the list into so that it can be imported? How do I import it?   • Extended MAPI: How to get the entry ID of messages moved by CopyMessages

    I have found that if I move a message using IMAPIFolder::CopyMessages (using the MESSAGE_MOVE flag) the message gets a new entry ID. However I do not see any reliable way of getting the entry ID of the message in its new location, or otherwise getting a reference to it. The best suggestion I have had so far involves tagging the message with the old custom property before moving, and then doing a search afterwards, but I was wondering if there is a less convoluted solution.

    I've noticed that some Western Digital hard drives are now sporting 4K sectors, that is, the sectors are larger: 4096 bytes vs. the long-standing standard of 512 bytes. So: What's the big deal with 4K sectors? Is it marketing hype, or a real advantage? Why should somebody building a new PC care, or not, about 4K sectors? Why is this transition taking place now? Why didn't it happen sooner? Are there things to look out for when buying a 4K sector hard drive? e.g. incompatibility? Anything else we should know about 4K sectors?

  • [Cocoa] Core Animation with an NSView and subviews

    I've subclassed NSView to create a 'container' view (which I've called TRTransitionView) which is being used to house two subviews. At the click of a button, I want to transition one subview out of the parent view and transition the other in, using the Core Animation transition type: kCATransitionPush. For the most part, I have this working as you'd expect (here's a basic test project I threw together). The issue I'm seeing relates to resizing my window and then toggling between my two views. After resizing a window, my subviews will appear at seemingly random locations within my TRTransitionView. Additionally, it appears as if the TRTransitionView hasn't stretched correctly and is clipping the contents of its subviews. Ideally, I would like subviews anchored to the top-left of their parent view at all times, and to also grow to expand the size of the parent view. The second issue relates to an NSTableView I've placed in my first subview. When my window is resized, and my TRTransitionView resizes to match its new dimensions, my TableView seems to resize its content quite awkwardly (the entire table seems to jolt around) and the newly expanded space that the table now occupies seems to 'flash' (as if in the process of being animated). Extremely difficult to describe, but is there any way to stop this?   • Problem with poor font rendering with CSS3 transitions, jQuery, & Google Fonts

    In Firefox, there is no problem. Sorry :( I'm using Isotope jQuery plugin, and the CSS3 transitions seem to cause the poor font-rendering. I'm also using Google Font API.   • Spam is Killing Me - Can I use GMail as a spam filter?

    I'm getting at least 50 Viagra ads a day and it's driving me insane. I currently have a hosted MS Exchange account and a Gmail account. My Gmail account forwards to my Exchange account. Both of my addresses are used evenly, and it has been really nice to have all of my e-mail end up in my Exchange box. I like replying from one address consistently, which is my Exchange address. Spam sent to my Gmail address is always caught, where spam sent to my Exchange is getting passed straight through to me. I don't want to have two spam filtration systems that have quarantines that I need to check frequently for false positives. Here is my question: Can I setup my MX records such that all e-mail sent to my Exchange address is forwarded to my Gmail account, which will then forward it to my Exchange account? Kind of like using Gmail as the middle man.

  • Publish/Subscribe/Request for exchange of big, complex, and confidential data?

    I am working on a project where a website needs to exchange complex and confidential (and thus encrypted) data with other systems. The data includes personal information, technical drawings, public documents etc. We would prefer to avoid the Request-Reply pattern to the dependent systems (and there are a LOT of them), as that would create an awful lot of empty traffic. On the other hand, I am not sure that a pure Publisher/Subscriber pattern would be apropriate -- mainly because of the complex and bulky nature of the data to be exchanged. For that reason we have discussed the possibility of a "publish/subscribe/request" solution. The Publish/Subscribe part would be to publish a message to the dependent systems, that something is ready for pickup. The actual content is then picked up by old-school Request-Reply action.   • Google Contacts/Calendars + Address Book + iCal: built-in sync (problems) or Exchange sync?

    (I've looked at a few other questions related to this, but I've only found old questions with people saying that they're having problems, or anticipating Snow Leopard fixing them; no recent updates.) I'm looking to sync my Google Contacts & Calendars, and Gmail, with my Mac & iPhone. The iPhone I have currently set up thus: IMAP for Mail Exchange (Google Sync) for Contacts & Calendars The Mac: Address Book: built-in sync iCal: CalDAV, configured as a Google account I haven't been syncing Gmail to Apple Mail, because I was having weird IMAP glitches every so often that just got to annoying. Will Exchange / Google Sync work for this at all? Any suggestions there? Here are the other problems I'm having. Address Book only syncs certain fields (for example, Birthdays don't sync at all). I believe this is a list of the information that's synced. Address Book's "Synchronize with Google" checkbox doesn't stay checked when I quit Address Book. I think iCal is working fine, for the most part. Any suggestions on how to improve this setup? Why doesn't Address Book / Google Contacts sync stay enabled? Could I use Exchange for it like I am on the iPhone? Will that sync all the fields, including Birthdays, etc.? Thanks in advance!

  • What is the relevance of resumes in the age of GitHub, Stack Exchange, Coursera, Udacity, blogs, etc.?

    My resume is no longer relevant. It can no longer contain an adequate description of my technical abilities. One can get a much better sense of what I am capable of by looking at my GitHub repositories, my Stack Exchange profiles, and the various courses that I am taking at Udacity and Coursera. The problem is that I have no idea how to tell employers that those are the places to look if they want an accurate description of what I can do. Every time a recruiter contacts me I gently nudge them towards all the resources I just mentioned and I also provide a link to a publicly visible Google doc that contains my resume along with links to all those resources. Yet, they keep coming back asking for a more descriptive resume. How can I make it even more blatantly obvious that if somebody wants to hire me then they can save themselves a whole bunch of trouble by just clicking on a few links and browsing around?

So I was quite surprised to learn that there was a significant amount of overlap in service references, in addition to being unable to discern which of the two was intended to be the primary service framework. Why does there seem to be a fair amount of redundancy in individual service handling between init.d and upstart? Is something else at play here that I'm missing? What is preventing upstart from completely taking over for init.d? Is there some functionality that certain daemons require which upstart does not yet have, which are preventing some services from converting? Or is it something else entirely?

  • Jquery Cycle Plugin Question - turning off relative links to photos so it goes to a URL

    I am using Jquery Cycle Plugin and it has a side panel that highlights as the photos change and currently when I click on the text the associated photo pulls up then I have to click on the photo to go to the URL but I would like the text itself to link to the URL. I have looked at the fn.cycle.defaults but not sure what to change and I tried a few things but nothing works. If anyone can help me figure this out it would be most helpful.     For instance I have a main dialog, when I click a button a smaller dialog appears next to it. But it would be neat if the small one could somehow transition in, rather than simply appear. For instance using transparency, or zooming in, or sliding in from width=0 - full-width. Making an actual dialog do such things isn't too hard, but what about the controls within it? How might we approach this in a way that is reusable on different dialogs?

What I would like to do is trigger a transition effect that moves the child component onto the stage when it's added and then moves it off when it's removed. Of course i don't receive the Monitoring and Reporting emails from my server anymore, there is a way to change the setting? I think it directly interacts with Exchange, but maybe there is an smtp option out there Otherwise there is an alternative? I tried the paessler monitor on a vm, but i feel it's too much for my use: i just need to get a daily report of the security violations in the event log and something else

    I'm trying to use stunnel to secure a legacy application's communications. I can't seem to get it setup and working. Can anyone provide any hints where I'm going wrong? Here's what I'm trying to accomplish: A windows service on a client machine connects to a server on port 7000 using TCP. I'd like to encrypt the communication between client and server. Here's what I've tried: Created a new server that accepts ssl connections on port 7443. Got a certificate for the server and installed it. That seems to work with my test setup. Installed stunnel on my windows machine (version 7.43 from the distribution archive file). Installed libssl32.dll and libeay32.dll in the same directory as stunnel.exe ( from the openssl-0.9.8h-1 binary distribution). Installed it as a service using "stunnel -install" Configured stunnel as follows: debug=7 output=C:\p4\internal\Utility\Proxy\proxy.log service=Proxy taskbar=no [exchange] accept=7000 client=yes connect=proxy.blah.com:7443 I changed my hosts file to trick the old application into connecting through stunnel: server.blah.com 127.0.0.1 # when client looks up server it goes to stunnel proxy.blah.com IP-address-of-server.blah.com # stunnel connects to new server "server.blah.com" now resolves to the machine it's running on (i.e. stunnel). "proxy.blah.com" goes to the real server. stunnel should connect to the server. I start the stunnel service and try to connect.     Hi SF'ers! We recently moved an exchange server behind a reverse proxy due to the loss of a public IP. I've managed to configure the reverse proxy (httpd proxy_http). But there is a problem for the SSL configuration. When accessing the OWA interface with Firefox, all is ok and working. When accessing with MSIE or Chrome, they do not retrieve the good SSL Certificate. I think this is due to the multiples virtual host for httpd. Is there a workaround to make sure MSIE/Chrome request the certificate for the good domain name like FF does? I presume the SNI is somewhere not activated on my server. The versions of openssl and apache seams to be ok for the SNI support. The only thing I do not know is if httpd has been compile with the good options. (I assume it's a fedora packet).

  • stunnel crashing

    I'm trying to use stunnel to secure a legacy application's communications. I can't seem to get it setup and working. Can anyone provide any hints where I'm going wrong? Here's what I'm trying to accomplish: A windows service on a client machine connects to a server on port 7000 using TCP. I'd like to encrypt the communication between client and server. Here's what I've tried: Created a new server that accepts ssl connections on port 7443. Got a certificate for the server and installed it. That seems to work with my test setup. Installed stunnel on my windows machine (version 7.43 from the distribution archive file). Installed libssl32.dll and libeay32.dll in the same directory as stunnel.exe ( from the openssl-0.9.8h-1 binary distribution). Installed it as a service using "stunnel -install" Configured stunnel as follows: debug=7 output=C:\p4\internal\Utility\Proxy\proxy.log service=Proxy taskbar=no [exchange] accept=7000 client=yes connect=proxy.blah.com:7443 I changed my hosts file to trick the old application into connecting through stunnel: server.blah.com 127.0.0.1 # when client looks up server it goes to stunnel proxy.blah.com IP-address-of-server.blah.com # stunnel connects to new server "server.blah.com" now resolves to the machine it's running on (i.e. stunnel). "proxy.blah.com" goes to the real server. stunnel should connect to the server. I start the stunnel service and try to connect.
