  HI All, If I have a PivotTable in Excel 2007 with a date field. I understand that I can group the date by day, month or even year using Group Field (Years & Months). If I combine with product perspective, the PivotTable may look like this Sum of Sales_Total | Column Labels Row Labels | PRODUCT-001 | PRODUCT-002 | Grand Total - 2006 | 2000 | 1500 | 3500 Jan | 1700 | 800 | 2500 Feb | 300 | 700 | 1000 - 2007 | 1000 | 1500 | 2500 Jan | 700 | 800 | 1500 Feb | 300 | 700 | 1000 - 2008 | 600 | 700 | 1300 Jan | 600 | 700 | 1300 Now, what I want to do is to compare Jan 2008 - Jan 2006 and Jan 2007 - Jan 2006. Something like this : | Column Labels | PRODUCT-001 | | ... Row Labels | Sum of Sales | Sum of Last Sales | - 2006 | 2000 | | Jan | 1700 | | Feb | 300 | | - 2007 | 1000 | 2000 | Jan | 700 | 1700 | Feb | 300 | 300 | - 2008 | 600 | 1000 | Jan | 600 | 700 | Is it possible ? • How to use cbreak mode in Ruby terminal application?

  In a small Ruby application, I'd like user input to be accepted without having to wait for a carriage return. My understanding is that cbreak mode needs to be enabled in order for the terminal to feed user input directly into the script. I tried simply running x%[cbreak()] at the top of my script but that didn't work. I've also seen that it's possible to use (n)curses to achieve the same results, although that seems like overkill. Does anybody have a suggestion on how to implement this? Thanks

• Get Distance from geohash field in solr 3.6

  Is it possible to get distance returned from a geodist() filter, on a geohash field that has multiple values? The geosort and the geodist filter are working fine, but I'm trying to get the distance between the query point and a location that was returned in the result. I've tried http://wiki.apache.org/solr/SpatialSearch#Returning_the_distance The second method which is : //localhost:8983/solr/select?indent=true&fl=name,store&sfield=store&pt=45.15,-93.85&sort=score%20asc&q={!func}geodist() But it returns weird results, tested with 2 locations it returns score 9979.032, where there is ~33,000 Km between both points in reality? What is the unit that it uses returning the distance in the score field? I assumed km, but it does not make sense, or the result is bogus, I dunno Anyhelp would be appreciated, thanks

• C++: Get char after space character instead or return carriage.

  Okay this is similar to my last question but what I ended up doing was way too complex for something as simple as this. I simply need to get a single character or number (I will know which of these I am receiving) from the console after I press space, instead of pressing enter. I'm sure there must be a way to have the terminal read input after a space instead of a '\n'. I need to read inputs from the console in which the succeeding data types will vary depending on what the first input is, and I think reading the entire line, parsing it into strings, then parsing some of those into ints is a bit unnecessary. So Is this actually not possible in C++ or have I just not found it yet?

  Is there a quick way to validate a single form field with CodeIgniter to see whether or not that field matches a set of rules? There's the $this-form_validation-run();, but that will return either TRUE or FALSE for the whole form, and that's just not what I'm looking for. For example, if I only wanted to check if the email was valid, checking the whole form is not going to get me the result I'm looking for. I looked through the documentation but couldn't find anything like $this-form_validation-run(); that accepts one parameter and returns TRUE or FALSE if it's valid.

I'd like to assume I don't have the source code to any of them (actually I usually have the source code of one of them). I want to direct the standard output of one to the standard input of the other and vice versa, thus allowing communication (the goal is to allow two programs playing a certain game to play one against the other). We are having user tables which is having all field required for user table like firstname,lastname and other fields that table is also there in our DBML files.Now the problem is that we are having a stored procedure that is mapped to table-User returning a field called fullname (Combination of firstname and lastname)which is not there in usertable. So what is the best way to slove this. Another thing is that one of other stored procedure return inner join of two tables with mix columns in this case how can i mapped that stored procedure with Table mapped info class in our dbml files.

  I have a column of product views in a database (e.g. top, bottom, front, back). I'm trying to generate a series of file inputs to allow the user to upload an image for each view.   Consider the following silly Perl program: $firstarg = $ARGV[0]; print $firstarg; $input = <>; print $input; I run it from a terminal like: perl myprog.pl sample_argument And get this error: Can't open sample_argument: No such file or directory at myprog.pl line 5. Any ideas why this is? When it gets to the < is it trying to read from the (non-existent) file, "sample_argument" or something? And why?

  How can I declare a field, in the Rails model, when it doesn't have any "has_" relations, or validations, or delegations? I just need to ensure its existence and column width in the schema. Currently, I have no mention of the field in the "schema section" of the model file, but it's referenced in various methods that use it, and this seems to work. However, depending on my exact creation workflow, the underlying database table may be created as t.binary "field_name", :limit => 32 or t.binary "field_name", :limit => 255 This is not a restriction on the value (any binary value is valid, even NULL), only on the table column declaration. As it happens, 32 is enough -- it never receives any larger value, it's only ever written to like this: self.field_name = SecureRandom.random_bytes(32)

• Setting a form field's value during validation

  I read about this issue already, but I'm having trouble understanding why I can't change the value of a form's field during validation. I have a form where a user can enter a decimal value. This value has to be higher than the initial value of the item the user is changing. During clean(), the value that was entered is checked against the item's previous value. I would like to be able to re-set the form field's value to the item's initial value when a user enters a lower value. Is this possible from within the clean() method, or am I forced to do this in the view? Somehow, it doesn't feel right to do this in the view... (To make matters more complicated, the form's fields are built up dynamically, meaning I have to override the form's clean() method instead of using the clean_() method).

  Hi all, I'm not sure if this question has been answered elsewhere and I can't seem to find anything through google that isn't a "Hello World" example... I'm coding in C# .NET 4.0. I'm trying to develop a console application that will open, display text, and then wait for the user to input commands, where the commands will run particular business logic. For example: If the user opens the application and types "help", I want to display a number of statements etc etc. I'm not sure how to code the 'event handler' for user input though. • Money type field returns Dollar, but regional set to UK (Windows 7)

  Hi, On a Windows 7 machine with Advantage Data Architect version 9.10.0.11, money type data is returned as Dollars, instead of Pounds. Sometimes, it will suddenly switch to Pounds, without me changing any settings. Everything else returns Pounds correctly (regional settings is UK with £ as the currency symbol). Has anyone else had this problem and/or found a solution? If I run any reports using the money data type field I can't be sure that it's going to be accurate. And no, I can't change the field type and handle the currency symbol myself. Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, after I did something like this: document.getElementById('hidden_field').value = 123; I can output the value with the firebug console by entering this: alert(document.getElementById('hidden_field').value); So the values are definitely set. But now when I submit the form, the hidden field values are still empty. Do you have any idea whats going wrong? Thx for your answers.
