For example, instead of just: sqlncli.msi What I'd prefer is that the file was called something like: SQLServerNativeClient2k8SP1CU3x64.msi So I normally rename them as soon as I receive them, to avoid confusion in future.     Hi, I'm using a network file system (AFS) and I would like to also mount it into my schroot. Adding a line to /etc/schroot/mount-defaults, with bind or rbind in the options didn't help: schroot always mounts the directory with bind, and it remains empty in the chroot. My current solution is a script that remounts the /afs directory with rbind after the schroot has been set up. Is there a way to make schroot use rbind directly?

    I am trying to use OpenDNS for my newly installed Ubuntu 12.10... However I cannot insert custom DNS addresses... I am accessing Network, then at my wireless connection, no matter how many times I press the "options" tab at the low right corner (I am not using english Ubuntu, so the button might have a different name), nothing happens.   • Upgrade from 12.04 to 12.10 Failed due to network troubles

    Every time I try and upgrade from 12.04 to 12.10 it keeps telling me that there are network problems. Is this a problem on "the other" side? My upgrade got through downloading half the packages last night but then went into sleep and then failed. Could it have something to do with that?   • VMWare Fusion - Cannot communicate between Host Mac and Virtual Mac running on same machine [migrated]

    I'm running a "virtual" Mac OS machine on a Mac running VMWare Fusion. The Virtual Mac is setup with Bridged Networking, and has its own separate IP address. The outside world can connect to either the Mac itself or the virtual Mac via their respective IP addresses just fine, this works great! The problem... the Mac itself cannot connect to the virtual Mac's IP address, nor can the virtual Mac connect to the real Mac's IP address. Some things I've read mention something about enabling VMCI, but I have no idea how to do this, or if this is even the correct solution. Any suggestions?

    I have setup a virtual router image with dynamips and setup bridging between tap0 interface of the virtual router and eth0 and br0 with commands [root@cisco_host]# brctl addbr br0 [root@cisco_host]# ifconfig br0 up [root@cisco_host]# ifconfig eth1 0.0.0.0 [root@cisco_host]# brctl addif br0 eth1 [root@cisco_host]# ifconfig br0 192.168.0.100 netmask 255.255.255.0 up In dynagen configuration I have: f0/0 = NIO_tap:tap0 So, [root@cisco_host]# brctl addif br0 tap0 [root@cisco_host]# ifconfig tap0 up router(config)#int fa0/0 router(config-if)#ip address 192.168.0.101 255.255.255.0 router(config-if)#no shutdown After the configuration above I was expecting that from inside the router I could ping an external machine with IP 192.168.0.1 Actually from the host I can ping the external host 192.168.0.1 as well as 192.168.0.100 and 192.168.0.101. So what am I missing here? tap0 is bridged with br0 and in turn with eth1. So why the router is not pingable from 192.168.0.1 and vice-versa??
