• Calculate shortest path through a grocery store

  Hi, I'm trying to find a way to find the shortest path through a grocery store, visiting a list of locations (shopping list). The path should start at a specified startposition and can end at multiple endpositions (there are multiple checkout counters). Also, I have some predefined constraints on the path, such as "item x on the shopping list needs to be the last, second last, or third last item on the path". There is a function that will return true or false for a given path. Finally, this needs to be calculated with limited cpu power (on a smartphone) and within a second or so. If this isn't possible, then an approximation to the optimal path is also ok. Is this possible? So far I think I need to start by calculating the distance between every item on the list using something like A* or Dijkstra's. After that, should I treat it like the travelling salesman problem? Because in my problem there is a specified startnode, specified endnodes, and some constraints, which are not in the travelling salesman problem. Any help would be appreciated :)

• Creating a single CRM plugin DLL to store in the CRM database

  Since the suggested way of storing plugins in MS CRM is via the CRM database, I figured it's about time to do something about the method I'm currently using, which is storing the DLLs on the disk. The trouble however is that I don't know how to embed all the other various bits that are needed by the DLL: the localization resource files (which are kept in another folder) and some referenced DLLs from the latest SDK (which had to be manually placed in the bin\assembly folder). At this point, I'm not even entirely sure this is possible. So far I've tried to solve the localization problem by changing the build action on the resource files to "Content" or "Resource" and tested this solution (still keeping the location on-disk, but without the added localization folder). This didn't work: when I purposely generated a validation error in one of the plugins, I got the default language message (English) despite having a different language selected in the CRM. I've faced a similar problem when trying to add some of the referenced DLL files (namely the new SDK DLLs: xrm.portal, xrm.portal.files and xrm.client). When I tried to store the plugin in the database (skipping for a moment the localization issue), I got a CRM error saying it cannot find the XRM.Client assembly or one of it's dependencies. I know I could use ILMerge to put the whole thing together, but I've got a gut feeling telling me this isn't really a good idea. Any hints or suggestions on this issue would be great.

  I am trying to use the MVVM pattern, and I am wondering where I place an ID value. Do I create a TextBlock that has its visibility property set to collapsed? Or is there a better place to store this kind of data?   Hello! I need some advise on my PHP code organisation. I need classes where I can store different functions, and I need access to those classes in different parts of my project. Making an object of this classes each time is too sadly, so I've found a two ways have to solve it.   In fact, my question concerns an algorithm. I need to be able to attach annotations to certain parts of a text, like a word or a group of words. The first thing that came to me to do so is to store the position of this part (indexes) in the text. For instance, in the text 'The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog', I'd like to attach an annotation to 'quick brown fox', so the indexes of the annotation would be 4 - 14. But since the text is editable (other annotations could provoke a modification from text's author), the annoted part is likely to move (the indexes could change). In fact, I don't know how to update the indexes of the annoted part. What if the text becomes 'Everyday, the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog' ? I guess I have to watch every change of the text in the front-end application ? The front-end part of the application will be HTML with Javascript. I will be using PHP to develop the back-end part and every text and annotation will be stored in a database.

• How to store an inventory using hashtables?

  Hello everyone. For an assignment in collego we have to make a script in Perl that allows us to manage an inventory for an e-store. (The example given was Amazon) Users can make orders in a fully text-based environment and the inventory must be updated when an order is completed. Every item in the inventory has 3 to 4 attributes: a product code, a title, a price and for some an amount (MP3's for example do not have this attribute) Since this is my first encounter with Perl, i don't really know how to start. My main problem is how i should "implement" the inventory in the program. One of the functions of the program is searching trough the titles. Another is to make an order, where the user should give a product code. My first idea was a hashtable with the productcode as key. But if i wanted to search in the titles that could be a problem because of this: the hashkey would be something like DVD-123, the information belonging to that key could be "The Green Mask 12" (without the ") where the 12 indicates how many of this DVD are currently in stock. So i'd have to find a way to ignore the 12 in the end. Another solution was to use the title as Hashkey, but that would prove cumbersome too I think. Is there a way to make a hashtable with 2 key's, and when I give only one it returns an array with the other values? (Including the other key and the other information) That way I could use another key depending on what info I need from my inventory. We have to read the default inventory from a txt file looking like this: MP3-72|Lady Gaga - Kiss and Run (Fear of Commitment Monster)|0.99 CD-400|Kings of Leon - Only By The Night|14.50|2 MP3-401|Kings of Leon - Closer|0.85 DVD-144|Live Free or Die Hard|14.99|2 SOFT-864|Windows Vista|49.95 Any help would be appreciated very much :) PS: I am sorry for my bad grammar, English isn't my native language.

  Hi all, I am using Core Data in my application.I have an attribute named PINCode which has property Int64. Now,in my app I take the PIN code from a text field,convert it into NSNumber and try to store as an attribute value for an entity.But I am unable to do so.The exception that it shows on the console is:- Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: 'Unacceptable type of value for attribute: property = "PINCode"; desired type = NSNumber; given type = NSCFString; value = 121.'   Hi, I'm have a parent-child relation between 2 classes, but the child objects are never stored. I do get an warning: "org.datanucleus.store.appengine.MetaDataValidator checkForIllegalChildField: Unable to validate relation net.vermaas.kivanotify.model.UserCriteria.internalCriteria" but it is unclear to me why this occurs. Already tried several alternatives without luck. The parent class is "UserCriteria" which has a List of "Criteria" as children. • How to Store and Retrieve Images Using MsSQL (Server Management Studio)

  I am having difficulties when trying to insert files into an MsSQL database. I'll try to break this down as best as I can: What data type should I be using to store image files (jpeg/png/gif/etc)? Right now my table is using the image data type, but I am curious if varbinary would be a better option. How would I go about inserting the image into the database? Does Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio have any built in functions that allow insertions of files into tables? If so, how is that done? Also, how could this be done through the use of an HTML form with PHP handling the input data and placing it into the table? How would I fetch the image from the table and display it on the page? I understand how to SELECT the cell's contents, but how would I go about translating that into a picture. Would I have to have a header(Content type: image/jpeg)? I have no problem doing any of these things with MySQL, but the MsSQL environment is still new to me, and I am working on a project for my job that requires the use of stored procedures to grab various data. • Dynamic Collapsable Flow Chart Online

  Been looking through a number of other related posts relating to flowchart software. I have been asked to put together a document outlining some of the typical problems our users encounter with our software product. What I would like to do, is create an interactive/online flowchart that lets users choose from 4-5 overall headings on whats wrong. Then for this to dynamically expand more choices on pinpointing the problem, and so on and so on, until they can get a resolution to their problem. The key thing that I have not been able to find in some of the flowchart software out there, is having the click + expand element. - I dont want all options to appear to the end-user in a huge flow chart as it will distract away from their specific issue. - I want them to be able to click away and go down a specific avenue that will end up giving them some good things to try, based on their decisions/clicks. I was originally thinking of perhaps putting something in Flex or Silverlight (ideally someone would have a template out there) but am now thinking of taking advantage of 3rd party (ideally free) software. This will need to be hosted in a browser. Any ideas?

  We need to develop an application to sell music online. No need to specify that all will be done quite legally and in so doing, we have to plan an interface to pay artists. However, we are confronted with a question: What is the best way to store music on the server? Should we save it on server's disk from a HTTP fileupload? Should we save via FTP or would it be wiser to save it in the database? No need to say that we need it to be the most safiest as possible. So maybe an https is required here. But, we what you think is the best way? Maybe other idea? Because in all HTTP case, upload songs (for administration) is quite long and boring, but easly linkable to a song that admin create in his web application comparativly to an FTP application to upload song on server and then list directory in admin part to link the correct uploaded song to the song informations in database. I know that its maybe not quite clear, it's because i'm french but tell me and I will try to explain part that you don't understand.

• Efficient way to store order in mySQL for list of items

  I want to code cleaner and more efficiently and I wanted to know any other suggestions for the following problem: I have a mySQL database that holds data about a set of photograph names. Oh, say 100 photograph names Table 1: (photos) has the following fields: photo_id, photo_name Ex data: 1 | sunshine.jpg 2 | cloudy.jpg 3 | rainy.jpg 4 | hazy.jpg ... Table 2: (categories) has the following fields: category_id, category_name, category_order Ex data: 1 | Summer Shots | 1,2,4 2 | Winter Shots | 2,3 3 | All Seasons | 1,2,3,4 ... Is it efficient to store the order of the photos in this manner per entry via comma delimited values? It's one approach I have seen used before but I wanted to know if something else is faster in run time. Using this way I don't think it is possible to do a direct INNER JOIN on the category table and photo table to get a single matched list of all the photographs per category. Ex: Summer shots - sunshine.jpg, cloudy.jpg, hazy.jpg because it was matched against 1,2,4 The iteration through all the categories and then the photos will have a O(n^2) and there has to be a better/faster way. Please educate me :)

• [MySQL] Efficiently store last X records per item

  I want to store the last X records in an MySQL database in an efficient way. So when the 4th record is stored the first should be deleted. The way I do this not is first run a query getting the items. Than check what I should do then insert/delete. There has to be a better way to do this. Any suggestions? Edit I think I should add that the records stored do not have a unique number. They have a mixed par. For example article_id and user_id. Then I want to make a table with the last X items for user_x. Just selecting the article from the table grouped by user and sorted by time is not an option for me. The table where I do the sort and group on has millions of records and gets hit a lot for no reason. So making a table in between with the last X records is way more effient. PS. I am not using this for articles and users.

• JQuery: how to store records id for data from ajax query in dynamicly created html elements

  Probably question title is rather cryptic but I will try to explain myself here so please bare with me :) Let's assume this configuration: server-side is PHP application responding for requests with data (list of items, single item details, etc.) in json format client-side is JQuery application sending ajax request to that PHP app and creating html content corresponding with received data So, for example: client requests "list of all animals with names staring with 'A'", gets the json response from server, and for every "animal" creates some html gizmo like div with animal description or something like that. It doesn't really matter what html element it will be but it has to point exactly to specific record by "containing" id of that record. And here is my dilemma: is it good solution to use "id" property for that? So it would be like: <div id="10" class="animal"> <p> This is animal of very mysterious kind... </p> </div> <div id="11" class="animal"> <p> And this one is very common to our country... </p> </div> where id="10" is of course indication that this is representation of record with id = 10. Or maybe I should store this record id in some custom made tag like <record_id>10</record_id> and leave an "id" strictly for what it was meant to be (css selector)? I need that record id for further stuff like updating database with some user input or deleting some of "animals" or creating new ones or anything that will be needed. All manipulations will be done with JQuery and ajax requests and responses will be visualized also with dynamic creation of html interface. I'm sure that somebody had to deal with that kind of stuff before so I would be grateful for some tips on that topic.

  We have a combination of requirements in terms o data access. Pre-load some reference data. We need reference data to survive browser restarts instead of just living in memory to avoid loading it all the time. I'm currently using the LocalStorageAdapter for that. Once we have it, we would like to sync changes (polling or using Socket.IO in the background and updating the LocalStorage could do the trick) There're other models that are more transactional, where we would need to directly go to the Server and get/save them. It would be nice to use something like the RESTAdapter for that. Lastly, there're some operations that should work off-line and changes should be synced later. To make it more concrete: * We pre-load vendor and "favorite products" into Local Storage. We work offline with those. * We need to sync server changes to vendor and product information. * If they search the full catalog, that requires them to be online. * When offline, we need to allow users to add something to their cart or even submit and order. We would like to queue this action and submit it when they have an Internet Connection. So a few questions are derived from this: * Is there a way to user RESTAdapter in combination with LocalStorage? * Is there some Socket.IO support? (Happy to do this part manually) * Is there Queueing support? Ideally at the Ember-Data level. I know we will have to do a lot of this manually and pull together the different lego pieces, but I wanted to ask for some perspective from experience Ember devs.

  I have a website that will have millions of pages in a directory. I'd like to store those files on-disk in a bunch of subdirectories based on the first characters of the page name. Or something else equivalent? Part of the requirement is that these be physical files on disk and it not be parsed with a scripting language.

• How does SVN store commit time

  I am working on a project that involves extracting details from a SVN server using SVNKit. My project is already complete and has been working we for a while now. During the testing, I noticed something rather very strange. the Commit Times my extract data seems is alway different from whats there in SVN Logs. I couldnt find any code in my project that could be inducing this difference but now I am looking as to how SVN server stores the Commit time in itself. As we have developer working from different part of the world thus resulting in different timezones, I was thinking that SVN might be storing time after converting them to GMT or timezone of the system on which SVN server is running. But that does not seem to be happening. Instead the times are stored as per the time when the commit was done and in that local timezone itself. I have been unable to find any substantial document on internet to support my theory so far. Can anybody in brief explain as how SVN store the Commit Time for each change? Documentaion links referring to this will be of great help.

• youtube video downloaed succesfully on local, but on server(online) only 0 byte flv is downloading

  i m using php tube class to download youtube video. Video is automatically downloaded in a folder by submitting youtube video url. everything is working fine on local (XAMPP), but when i upload this to server(online), THEN ONLY 0 byte flv file is saved. i also debug the code both side( local and global ). i get the url like this( on local) http://www.youtube.com/get_video?video_id=1jNWCFwqPvM&=vjVQa1PpcFMyYCECyfmYENWklpwXGyhVgJpSFPgNAEc%3D whereas on server i got link like this http://www.youtube.com/ get_video?video_id=1jNWCFwqPvM&t=vjVQa1PpcFNS3SPxIXi8hy-NF4qZFFrScDXCjGLLrLc%3D when i copy the link getting from local and paste on browser then a download box appear on browser, whereas when i copy the link getting from server and paste on browser then only a blank page appears please solve my problem, where is the error??? how to know that pear is installed or not on server? on server side sometimes i get link like http://www.youtube.com/get_video?video_id=1jNWCFwqPvM&t=vjVQa1PpcFNS3SPxIXi8hy-NF4qZFFrScDXCjGLLrLc%3D but sometimes i get only http://www.youtube.com/get_video?video_id=&t= please guide me how to solve these? • How to store and locate multiple interface types within a Delphi TInterfaceList

  Hi, I'm storing small interfaces from a range of objects into a single TInterfaceList 'store' with the intention of offering list of specific interface types to the end user, so each interface will expose a 'GetName' function but all other methods are unique to that interface type. For example here are two interfaces: IBase = interface //---------------------------------------- function GetName : string; //---------------------------------------- end; IMeasureTemperature = interface(IBase) //------------------------------------ function MeasureTemperature : double; //---------------------------------------- end; IMeasureHumidity = interface(IBase) //---------------------------------------- function MeasureHumidity: double; //---------------------------------------- end; I put several of these interfaces into a single TInterfaceList and then I'd like to scan the list for a specific interface type (e.g. 'IMeasureTemperature') building another list of pointers to the objects exporting those interfaces. I wish to make no assumptions about the locations of those objects, some may export more than one type of interface. I know I could do this with a class hierarchy using something like: If FList[I] is TMeasureTemperature then .. but I'd like to do something simliar with an interface type, Is this possible?
