• Are IE 9 will have a place in heart of user ?

  in a advertisement of IE 9 MSFT compare two product first is their IE9 and second is chrome 6. I know 6 is not currently [9] but no objection because may be they make ads when 6 is currently version and have RC or beta in their hands. on IE 9 test-drive website they show many of people ads to show the user that IE9 is performance better or other chrome or Firefox not. well they not compare with Firefox because last days firefox not still in news and search trends like before RC release many of user googling for them. Well I myself found IE9 perform smoother then chrome. but what MSFT do after IE9 nothing they waiting for IE 10 not for give updates not as well as Google chrome and Firefox. Are IE9 have anything new for Developer even a small or big. well they tell you blah or useless things everytime when they make for next version no matter for you but a matter for them because they add a new thing even useless for developer. I am not have any feeling with IE bad but I like to make reviews as well as I can make. I show you something who I experience with IE and someother browser like Chrome and Firefox. IE 9 still have no plugin as well as other provided like Firefox have Firebug a great utilities who is best option for developer to debug their code. IE9 developer tool is good but still you never customize them or readymade customization available to work as in firefox many of person make customization for firebug like example :- firepicker for picking color in firebug , firebug autocomplete for intellisense like feature when you write JavaScript inside console panel , pixelperfect , firequery , sitepoint reference and many other great example we all love to use. as other things that Firefox give many things customizable like themes , ui and many thing customization means more thing user or developer want to make themselves and more contribution make them better software so Firefox is great because customization is a great thing inside firefox and chrome. if you read some post of developer on MSDN to what’s new in IE 9 developer tool that you feel they are joking whenever you see some other things of Firefox and chrome. in a Firefox a plugin perform many much things but in IE still use IE 9 developer tool no other option like in Firefox use Firebug and many other utilities to make development easier and time saving and best as we can do.if you see Firefox page on mozilla that sublines of firefox is high performance easy customization advanced security well you can say what’s performance but there is no comparison with IE because IE have only performance and nothing else. but Firefox have these three thing to make product love. and third thing I really love that security yeah security. from long time before whenever IE6 is no hackproff and many other easily hack IE6 whenever Firefox is secure. I found myself that many of website install a software on client’s computer and they still not know about them so they track everything. sometime they hijack the homepage and make their website as their homepage. sometime they do something and you trying  to go to  any website then they go to their site first. the problem I telling about not long before it’s time of late in 2008 whenever Firefox is much better then IE6. if someone have bad experience with anyone of these software share with us I like to hear your voice. whenever IE still not for use Firefox is a good option for us even user or developer. I not know why someone make next version of IE. IE still have time to go away from Web. Firefox not rude as IE they still believe in user feedback and chrome is also open the door for feedback on their product gooogle Chrome. but what thing they made in IE on user feedback nothing. they still thing to teach what they maked not thing about what user need. if you spent some hour on firefox and chrome then you found what’s matter. what thing you have whenever you use IE or other browser like google chrome and Firefox :- as a user IE give you nothing even tell you blah blah and more blah but still next version of IE means next IE6 for the web. as in Google chrome you find plugins addons or customization to make experience better but in IE9 you can’t customize anything even the themes they have by default. Firefox already have a great list of plugins or addons to make experience better with Web but IE9 have nothing. this means IE9 not for user and other like chrome and firefox give you much better experience then IE. next thing after user is developer. first thing is that all developer want smooth development who save their time not take too perhaps saving.posts on IE9 show that a list of thing improved in IE 9 developer tool but are one developer tool enough for web development so developer need more utilities to solve different different type of puzzle who IE 9 never give like in Firefox you have utilities to do a task even small or big one. in chrome same experience you have but IE9 never give any plugin or utilities to make our work faster even they are new headache for developer because IE not give update as soon as other because in Firefox and in chrome if a bug is reported then they solve them fast and distribute them in next version of software very soon but in IE wait for a long time like IE 9 and IE 8 have no official release between them as update. As my conclusion there is no reason to use IE and adopt 9 again. it’s really not for Developer or user even newbie or smart people. as a rule I want to beware you with IE because it’s my responsibilities to move the thing in good way as I can make. well are you sure that there is no reason or profit they thing to have with IE9  if not why they forget luna [windows xp] user. because they are old nothing they want to force user to give them some money by purchasing a new version of OS. so this a thing why they marketed their software. if you thing about what firefox and chrome want to make : Mozilla's mission is to promote openness, innovation and opportunity on the web. chrome mission we all see whenever we use them. but IE9 is a trick they promote because they want to add something to next version of windows. if somebody like IE9 [even surprised by ads they see or post they read] then they purchase windows soon as they possible. Well you feel that I am opposition of IE9 and favor of chrome and Firefox yeah you feel right I hate IE from a heart not from a pencil. well you get same thing when you have trying three product major I described here Chrome firefox and IE. well don’t believe on the blogs , posts or article who are provided by the merchant or vender’s website. open the eyes read and thing what they talk and feel are they really true. if you confused that compare with some other. now you know the true because no one telling so badly as a user can described who use them not only one who make their feature. always open the eyes don’t believe use your mind and find the truth. thanks for reading my post good bye and take care

• Prompted to type password (for installation purpose) AFTER I removed my password. What to do?

  I just installed Ubuntu and one of the 1st things that I did was - remove my password. I went into settings - user accounts, clicked on the unlock icon and changed the password to nothing, made it so it doesn't require me to log in, but yet, when I try to install some software I get prompted to type in my password. I tried using nothing and my old password - neither of them work. What should I do to fix this? Do I really have to re-install Ubuntu?

• Xubuntu 12.04 notifications buttons don't work

  "When I tried to reconnect my bluetooth mouse I realized all notification windows do not allow me to press any buttons. Nothing happens. I can close them out but clicking options like "allow" "deny" does nothing." After some googling I found that I'm not the only one with this problem, but I can't find any fix. • PPA Shows Up Under "All Software" That Is No Longer Enabled

  I used to use the Aurora builds of Firefox, but now I've uninstalled Firefox and gone back to Chromium. I've removed the PPA, but it still shows up under "All Software" in the Ubuntu Software Center, when I click on the arrow to the side of it to display my PPAs. I've checked the Software Sources to see if there's anything leftover, and there's nothing. I use Y PPA Manager, and there's nothing there to remove as well. How do I get rid of it?

I restarted the computer and selected Ubuntu from the boot menu but nothing came. it only shows a a black screen and it allows me to type. I have a feeling that this might be to do with the graphics driver, but how would i get a driver if nothing shows? I have ati radeon 5450 which runs with Catalyst Control Center on Windows.   I was listening to music, and my sound suddenly went dead in all my applications. I'm using Ubuntu 12.04, which uses pulseaudio, so I tried sudo /etc/init.d/pulseaudio restart, but nothing happened. According to lsof | grep pcm, nothing is using the soundcard at the moment, although I'm not entirely sure if my source for that command is applicable. Is there a way another way to restart Ubuntu 12.04's sound system from the command line without rebooting the system?

• Deleted files still accessible without www in url

  I have deleted all files and all hidden files off my server, there is nothing but log files which cannot be deleted. Ironically, files are accessible when nothing is there. Cache cleared, multiple browsers and computers/devices checked. • G210M Screen brightness control issue

  I have a Sony VAIO VPCCW15FG laptop with NVIDIA G210M graphics card. I can't adjust the screen brightness! If I use the Fn shortcuts the brightness notification shows-up and there the brightness changes the level but nothing happens. I was able to adjust the brightness level in ZorinOS. But nothing happens when I changed the bright level, then brightness level changes radically with each step in the last stages.

• Cannot exit X server, restart, shutdown or drop to tty when VGA monitor active

  I have a strange problem. If I connect an external VGA monitor to my laptop, exiting the X environment in any way crashes the computer. For example, say I am working with my two monitors (the laptop's and one connected to my VGA port) active. Hitting Ctrl+Alt+F Key should take me down to a tty. What actually happens is that the VGA screen goes blank, as you would expect, but the laptop screen, although still on, shows nothing. I know the screen is on because it is slightly more illuminated than when it is off. When in this state, I can do nothing to regain access to the machine. I have tried: Ctrl+F Key (and even Ctrl+Alt+F Key, just in case) combinations and none seem to have any effect. Ctrl+Alt+Del : Nothing Magic SysRq key: Nothing Blindly typing my username and password and trying to reboot/shutdown or restart GDM or MDM: Nothing The only thing that works is a hard reset. The exact same behavior occurs when kiling the X server through Ctrl+Alt+Backspace, rebooting or shutdown. There is no difference if I reboot/shutdown/log out using the WM's graphical menu or if I use the shutdown or rebootcommands. It is also not WM-dependent. I have the same problem using Cinnamon, Gnome 3, MATE and xfce4. It is, however, VGA dependent. I have tried connecting another VGA monitor and have the same problem. I do not, however, have this problem if a screen is connected to the DisplayPort. It is, therefore, a VGA specific issue. To make things even stranger, this only occurs when both screens are active. If either the laptop screen or the VGA monitor is inactive the problem goes away. Finally, this problem arose when I installed the latest Linux Mint Debian (LMDE). It did not occur with the previous release of LMDE. I am not sure what has changed since I used the same kernel version in both releases (I had upgraded the kernel while on the previous release) and, I think, the same nvidia drivers. Oh, and yes, I have updated the nvidia driver. Hardware: Dell M4500 laptop CPU: Intel Core i7 RAM: 8GB Graphics: nVidia GT216 [Quadro FX 880M] Software: LMDE, kernel 3.2.0-2-amd64 Xorg: 1.11.4 nVidia kernel: 295.20-1+3.2.9-1 Possibly relevant files: /var/log/Xorg.0.log ~/.xsession-errors Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this? • usb mouse connecting and disconnecting randomly and often

  Yes, I know this question has been asked here before but I can't add to the discussion over there and it did not help me, so here goes nothing. I've bought an acer aspire 5742G about 2 months ago or so and it's been running great, but sometimes I used to hear the windows error beep but I had no idea what was causing it since the "bug" was automatically fixed so fast I couldn't even see an error message (also it kinda always happened when I was busy also, either in a game or while doing my homework). Later on my mouse would simply not work for 3-5 seconds then work again, I thought nothing of it at the time. I also had a problem where it only worked in one usb and one only ... to move it I had to remove the battery, unplug the laptop and hold the power button for 2 minutes to reset the bios settings. Since today though it went nuts ... sometimes it disconnects / reconnects 12 times in 10 seconds and windows just keeps beeping till I unplug it, then it runs smooth for 5-6 minutes then it goes nuts again. Other times it seems like it skips (disconnects for a fraction of a second) other times just for 2-3 seconds. But this is incredibly frustrating. Sometimes the power just goes down (the laser turns off) and well that at least I would understand but this is a rare occurance. Now I know the usb ports work since I have a lot of other devices connected and I tried the mouse on a room m8's laptop so the mouse also works. My only conclusion is that it's an operating system / settings bug and / or problem (I have tried the mouse in all ports by the way). All drivers and bios are up to date (maybe except mouse but i can't seem to update that and the mouse has no name, just a serial number which helps with nothing. Still it worked till today and nothing should have changed any way). I have made sure windows can't shut it down to save power (in device management). Also I tried to delete the drivers and re-install them, rebooting and the power button trick but nothing ... most I have done is get rid of the 12 discconnects / reconnects every 10 seconds :) but that's all :( I would buy a new one but I'm afraid it might do the same thing :| ****EDIT****** Tried the mouse again at a friend but now it didn't even install it's software nor did the update work ... think I'll just buy a new one but I'd still like a suggestion at least so I'll leave this open

• Well....a ghost lives in my server...

  Hello to every body and greetings from Greece I have a rather unusual situation and i am running out of ideas. I have this old server (IBM x205 - P4 2.4Ghz,3xSCSI 36gb) and i was about a year ago i decided to use it as an additional domain controller,fax & file server...for this task i had a Delock 70154 SATA card along with 2x320 SATA II HDDs Everything was going super smoothly until about 3 weeks ago. I was on a trip and i was informermed when i got back that the server was found frozen...well i considered it was a glitch since a simple powerdown power up fixed everything.Again 2 weeks ago another freeze situation....it got suspicious but again power down power up everything was running.... Last again it frozen and when i power it up it came with a message that the Domain services could not start due to NTDS corruption....booting in safe mode revealed that there was an issue with the SATA Raid (degraded). After a lot of searching i degraded the server...cleaned Active Directory and pulled both HDDs out (one of these was really BAD ) and recovered my files (i had some problems with ho Delock handles the redudant HDD). Right now my server is vanilla simple...with only what the factory installed and here is where the fun begins. Everyday when i arrive at the office i find this particular machine dead..and i mean total dead...just a black screen and nothing else...the cpu fan is working ,the psu is working .keyboard and mouse are dead(they also lock my kvm) ...network is dead.... the machine is DEAD. I power it down forcilly ...i power it up and for the 8 hours i am in the office it works,either idling or running some kind of diagnostic...when i leave the office after some time..it maybe half an hour ...it maybe 4 hours the machine dies...at least this is the information the event log shows (" the previous shutdown at xx:xx:xx was unexpected) Well i must admit i am runnig out of ideas.... I have tried Memtest....nothing Passmark burn in test.....nothing Carefull study of the event log.....nothing Set Instead of restart..BSOD....nothing Power sceheme to sleep...all set to never. i know there are a lot of other tools that heavily stress a machine like occt but .... the machine is old...today i will give them a try nevertheless ..... One idea is to reformat it...but ... i really like to find what is causing this because i could get to a situation that everything is working for a while and kaboom...one day again is dying.. I really need a helping hand and every opinion / idea is well welcomed.... iknow the obvious solution is to never leave the office but....i have a life...sory server...:) P.S this situation with the machine dying some time after is going on for about one week...everyday i would set either the RAID to rebuild....or to copy/recover files and while everythig was working

  Right now if I try to add a non-system user not in the university's Kerberos realm I am prompted for a Kerberos password anyway. Obviously there is no password to be entered, so I just press enter and see: passwd: Authentication token manipulation error passwd: password unchanged Typing passwd newuser has the same issue with the same message. I tried using pwconv in the hopes that only a shadow entry was needed, but it changed nothing. I want to be able to add a local user not in the realm and give them a local password without being bothered about Kerberos. I am on Ubuntu 10.04. drive and I get this error message whenever I try to double click c:\ drive or other drives but other than that everything seems to be working fince except that I can not access my drives.... its very • Windows 2008 and Truecrypt: can't access shared folder called "media"

  On my Windows 2008 system, I've attached an external USB drive that's encrypted using Truecrypt. Once I mounted the Truecrypt drive, I share some of the directories from that drive using Windows file sharing. I tried sharing a folder called "media" and when I try to access that folder from a Vista client on my LAN via \myserver\media, I get this error: \myserver\media is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. An unexpected network error occurred. If I share the folder media under some name such as fizzbuzz then I can access \myserver\fizzbuzz w/o any errors. Any clues as to why this is happening? • How do you create large, growable, shared filesystems on Linux at AWS?

  What are acceptable/reasonable/best ways to provide large, growable, shared storage at AWS, exposed as a single filesystem? We're currently making 1TB EBS volumes ~biweekly and NFS exporting with no_subtree_check and nohide. In this setup, distinct exports appear under a single mount on the client. This arrangement does not scale well. The options we've considered: LVM2 with ext4. resize2fs is too slow. Btrfs on Linux. not obviously ready for prime time yet. ZFS on Linux. not obviously ready for prime time yet (although LLNL uses it) ZFS on Solaris. future of this combo is uncertain (to me), and new OS in the mix glusterfs. heard mostly good but two scary (and maybe old?) stories. The ideal solution would provide sharing, a single fs view, easy expandability, snapshots, and replication. Thanks for sharing ideas and experience.

• Certain clients (IP range) can not ping server

  I just virtualized a Windows 2003 Server SP2 x32. The server contained our help desk server (Spiceworks) and our anti virus management server (ESET RAC). The host computer actually contained the virtualized server originally; I created the vhd and then I wiped this system clean and installed Windows 2008 R2 x64 Datacenter and added the virtualized 2003 onto the Hyper-V 2008 R2 Server. I got the server running fine except for... certain ip ranges. Local clients can get updates from the AV server from my 192.168.180.xxx & 192.168.181.xxx BUT NOT from any 192.168.182.xxx, 192.168.183.xxx, 192.168.184.xxx etc... I can not ping the server from any clients except for the 180. & 181. ranges. Now I created 2 other virtualized servers (win2008 & a win7 pro) and they exist on the same virtual host as the 2003 server. And at first I could not ping those until I went to the "\Network and Sharing Center\Advanced sharing settings" and Turned On File and Print Sharing. Then I could ping and access those virtualized guests. Win2003 server isn't quite the same. But I am sure I have it on. But now when I ping from a client on one of those ranges that would not work I get this: As you can see the ping leaves our network. We have 2 ad/dns servers (one 180. & the other in the 181. range). Is it DNS? Both AD/DNS servers are Windows 2003. And we plan on upgrading both to 2008 R2 within a month or two but I need to fix this issue pronto (esp the AV end). btw, I did rename that 2003 Server (Spiceworks/AV) hostname. And I tried a CNAME. But I do not think that is the problem. EDIT: OR because this server existed on this hardware/computer before becoming virtualized?
