• Klazuka/Kal incorporation issue

  I'm having a little issue. I am trying to incorporate the Klazuka/Kal project into my project. I've done the following: I added the Kal.xcodeproj and all files to my project Under Build Phases, I've added Kal to "Target Dependencies" Under Build Phases, I've added libKal.a under "Link Binary With Libraries" Under Build Phases, I've added Kal.bundle to "Copy Bundle Resources" Under Build Settings, I've added "“$(BUILT_PRODUCTS_DIR)” (or “$(BUILT_PRODUCTS_DIR)/static_library_name”" for "Header Search Paths" and "User Header Search Paths". Under Build Settings, I've added the path to Kal under "Library Search Paths" Under Build Settings, I've added -ObjC, -all_load, and -force_load under "Other Linker Flags" I've edited my Build Scheme and list the Kal Target prior to my main application target with Analyze, Test, Run, Profile, and Archive all checked. I've attempted to follow the steps from here on Stack Overflow: iphone: Kal calendar not running in xcode 4.2 and here: Trying to integrate a Calendar library that was built for versions of iOS before iOS5 into my new project in XCode 4 using iOS5 - How to port? and here: I added my project and Kal Calendar's project in a workspace, still won't work in Xcode 4 and also on this site: http://blog.carbonfive.com/2011/04/04/using-open-source-static-libraries-in-xcode-4/#configuring_the_projects_scheme I try to import the "Kal.h" file but am getting a File Not Found error when I try to build. • How to remove erroneous dependency from tycho build?

  Context: Have built an eclipse update site using tycho but trying to install into target IDE fails. The update site builds fine; I can see it from a target eclipse installation and select the feature for installation. However, the dependency check fails at start of install as it can't find a declared dependency (org.eclipselabs.xtext.utils.unittesting). This shouldn't be a dependency: it was erroneously included in MANIFEST.MF for one of my eclipse plugin projects. I removed the dependency from the manifest and run mvn clean install. Build reported success. However when I try to use the newly built update site it still complains that the dependency to org.eclipselabs.xtext.utils.unittesting (a) exists and (b) can't be satisfied. So the question is: what else do I need to do to remove the dependency from the generated update site? Thanks for any pointers. PS: I know I could add the site for o.e.x.u.unittesting in the target eclipse installation so it can satisfy the dependency. However I don't want to do that; it's not needed for the feature to work and I don't want other users to have to add an unnecessary dependency.

• Excel 2010 VBA code is stuck when UserForm is shown

  I've created a UserForm as a progress indicator while a web query (using InternetExplorer object) runs in the background. The code gets triggered as shown below. The progress indicator form is called 'Progerss'. I also see that the range of cells in column A gets cleared which tells me that the vbModeless is doing what I want. But then, somewhere within the GetWebData() procedure, things get hung up. As soon as I manually destroy the progress indicator form, the GetWebData() routine finishes and I see the correct results. But if I leave the progress indicator visible, things just get stuck indefinitely. The code below shows what GetWebData() is doing.   I need a div with a height of exactly 1em minus 1px. I have code, which is currently not working. • Improving File Read Performance (single file, C++, Windows)

  I have large (hundreds of MB or more) files that I need to read blocks from using C++ on Windows. Reads are on 4K blocks of the file. Some reads are coherent, most are not. A couple questions: Is there a good way to profile the reads? What things might improve the performance? For example, would sector-aligning the data be useful? I'm relatively new to file i/o optimization, so suggestions or pointers to articles/tutorials would be helpful.

• ESXi with software iSCSI

  Has anyone had any luck using the swiSCSI driver on ESXi? Following the instructions from VMWare.com I get to the point where I have the iSCSI HBA showing up but no LUNs/targets are showing up. The iSCSI target is running on Solaris 10 update 5 and works with other initiators fine. The ESXi initiator (from the logs) sees the targets but just logs in and out of them every 2 - 5 seconds. We're using unauthenticated discovery, and over and over in /var/log/messages I see: iSCSI: bus 0 target 0 trying to establish session 0xb203f90 to portal 0, address 10.1.100.9 port 3260 group 1 iSCSI: bus 0 target 0 establish session 0xb203f90 #4848 to port 0, address 10.1.100.9 port 3260 group 1, alias data/ESXi iSCSI: session 0xb203f90 dropping after receiving unexpected opcode 0x60 iSCSI: session 0xb203f90 to data/ESXi dropped iSCSI: session 0xb203f90 to data/ESXi waiting 2 seconds before next login attempt The only other thing that seems out of wack is that my 'Recent Tasks' pane keeps filling with 'Browse Diagnostic Manager' events and /var/log/vmware/hostd.log is filled with messages like this up to two times per second: [2008-09-19 16:05:57.901 'TaskManager' 196621 info] Task Created: haTask-ha-host-vim.DiagnosticManager.browser-776 [2008-09-19 16:05:57.094 'TaskManager' 196621 info] Task Completed: haTask-ha-host-vim.DiagnosticManager.browser-766 Any help would be appreciated.

• What /else/ causes this?

  MFC Toolbox Library.lib(SimpleFileIO.obj) : error LNK2005: _wcsnlen already defined in libcmtd.lib(wcslen_s.obj) fatal error LNK1169: one or more multiply defined symbols found This is driving me nuts. Normally, one would get this if the various projects that are a part of their solution do not agree on which CRT to use (single threaded, multi-threaded, release or debug). However, I have been over this thing about 500 times now, and they all agree. Background: this is a VS 2010 project just converted from VS 2008. MFC Toolbox Library.lib is set to compile as a static library, using /MTd, as is the target .exe I am trying to compile in this solution. Further, the solution that this is being converted from (VS 2008) already compiles & links properly!!! So it's not like that there is a disagreement between the two .vcproj's - or at least there wasn't before the conversion. Furthermore, the MFC Toolbox Library is used by about 25 other projects in another solution - and in that solution (Master Build English) it compiles & links against those other projects without complaint in both debug and release targets. I have just spent the last hour going over every single project property for this target project (Cimex Header Viewer) vs. several different target exe projects in Master Build English solution - and I cannot find a difference. They appear to be identical, excepting that they're different names. I've tried doing a clean & build all. I'm simply out of ideas. Does anyone have a thought on what else I might investigate??? I think I'm ready to start chewing glass. :(

• Team City + Gallio runs tests, but results are not shown

  We recently updated to Visual Studio 2010, and as part of our upgrade we started using Gallio 3.2 prerelease builds. Everything runs fine in Visual Studio (through resharper) but I'm having problems with TeamCity integration. The tests seem to run during TeamCity builds just fine (our build takes long enough to run all our tests), but the tests are not showing up in TeamCity's test area. Here is the test target from our NANT build file (this hasn't changed in our upgrade at all). • Jquery passing an HTML element into a function

  I have an HTML form where I am going to copy values from a series of input fields to some spans/headings as the user populates the input fields. I am able to get this working using the following code: $('#source').keyup(function(){ if($("#source").val().length == 0){ $("#destinationTitle").text('Sample Title'); }else{ $("#destinationTitle").text($("#source").val()); } }); In the above scenario the html is something like: Sample Title Basically, as the users fills out the source box, the text of the is changed to the value of the source input. If nothing is input in, or the user deletes the values typed into the box some default text is placed in the instead. Pretty straightforward. However, since I need to make this work for many different fields, it makes sense to turn this into a generic function and then bind that function to each 's onkeyup() event. But I am having some trouble with this. My implementation: function doStuff(source,target,defaultValue) { if($(source).val().length == 0){ $(target).text(defaultValue); }else{ $(target).text($(source).val()); } } which is called as follows: $('#source').keyup(function() { doStuff(this, '"#destinationTitle"', 'SampleTitle'); }); What I can't figure out is how to pass the second parameter, the name of the destination html element into the function. I have no problem passing in the element I'm binding to via "this", but can't figure out the destination element syntax. Any help would be appreciated - many thanks!

• jQuery way to replace just a text node with a mix of HTML and text

  In my web browser userscript project I need to replace just one text node without affecting the other HTML elements under the same parent node as the text. And I need to replace it with more than one node: <div id="target"> some text<img src="/image.png"> </div> Needs to become: <div id="target"> <a href="#">mixed</a> text <a href="#">and</a> HTML<img src="/image.png"> </div> I know jQuery doesn't have a whole lot of support for text nodes. I know I could use direct DOM calls instead of jQuery. And I know I could just do something like $('#target').html(my new stuff + stuff I don't want to change). What I'd like to ask the experts here is, Is there a most idiomatic jQuery way to do this?

• Passing HTML form data in the URL on local machine (file://)

  Hi, I'm building a small HTML/JS application for primary use on local machine (i.e. everything is accessed via file:// protocol, though maybe in the future it will be hosted on a server within intranet). I'm trying to make a form with method="get" and action="target.html", in the hope that the browser will put form data in the URL (like, file://<path>/target.html?param1=aaa&param2=bbb). However, it's not happening (target.html opens fine, but no parameters is passed). What am I doing wrong? Is it possible to use forms over file:// at all?   I have a game that tracks user stats after every match, such as how far they travelled, how many times they attacked, how far they fell, etc, and my current implementations looks somewhat as follows (simplified version): Class Player{ int id; public Player(){ int id = Math.random()*100000; PlayerData.players.put(id,new PlayerData()); } public void jump(){ //Logic to make the user jump //... //call the playerManager PlayerManager.jump(this); } public void attack(Player target){ //logic to attack the player //... //call the player manager PlayerManager.attack(this,target); } } Class PlayerData{ public static HashMap<int, PlayerData> players = new HashMap<int,PlayerData>(); int id; int timesJumped; int timesAttacked; } public void incrementJumped(){ timesJumped++; } public void incrementAttacked(){ timesAttacked++; } } Class PlayerManager{ public static void jump(Player player){ players.get(player.getId()).incrementJumped(); } public void incrementAttacked(Player player, Player target){ players.get(player.getId()).incrementAttacked(); } } So I have a PlayerData class which holds all of the statistics, and brings it out of the player class because it isn't part of the player logic. Then I have PlayerManager, which would be on the server, and that controls the interactions between players (a lot of the logic that does that is excluded so I could keep this simple). I put the calls to the PlayerData class in the Manager class because sometimes you have to do certain checks between players, for instance if the attack actually hits, then you increment "attackHits". The main problem (in my opinion, correct me if I'm wrong) is that this is not very extensible. I will have to touch the PlayerData class if I want to keep track of a new stat, by adding methods and fields, and then I have to potentially add more methods to my PlayerManager, so it isn't very modulized. If there is an improvement to this that you would recommend, I would be very appreciative. Thanks.

• Updating DIV with XML content on Hover (JQuery)

  Hi everyone! The concept of what I'm trying to do is fairly simple. I have a grid of company logos loaded through XSLT from an XML document, each with their own unique links to the company profiles. I have a separate div on the page, essentially a "preview" box. What I want to do is this: I roll over a logo, and it loads the name of the company and a short description into the preview div. This content is loaded through XML. I have been messing around with the Jquery load() function, changing the target document to load on Hover—and it almost gets what I want, but it loads the whole target XML document into the div. How can I separate this target XML data into separate divs? (which I have styled differently) I'd assume I would make use of Ajax in some way. I want to load the <name> node into the name_div, and the <desc> node into the description_div, and have them update on hover. Thanks in advance for the help!

  Hello all: Please go here to see an iframe based web app. Click on the map of Australia, choose a city, then buy some tickets. Now you will see the cart form located on the lower right corner. The problem is in IE8, I cannot delete checked rows from the table; whereas in other browsers such as FireFox3.6, Opera10, Safari4 and Chrome4, this action is all right. Below is the related javascript. It doesn't use jQuery, as part of the requirement is no framework allowed! • Flash automatically names objects on stage "instance#"

  Hi, I have 2 TLF text boxes already placed on my main stage. In the property inspector window I give these the instance names: "txt1" and "txt2". I am trying to have a single mouseup event, and figure out which text box it occurred on. I tried setting the .name property, but it had no effect. In the publish settings, I have "Automatically declare stage instances" checked. Also, is it possible to have a single change event for multiple slider components? I might have a list of anchors within which there may be a number of spans. Each anchor is declared as <a class="foo" href="#" data-info="1"> <span> ... </span> <span> ... </span> </a> <a class="foo" href="#" data-info="2"> <span> ... </span> <span> ... </span> </a> ... ... I bind a handler to the click event of the anchor but the event object comes back with the anchor OR one of the spans depending on where I click. So to get my html5 "data-info" value into the callback I have to insert a bit of messy code. This is now appearing throughout my code to the point where I am guessing there might be an idiomatic JQuery way of handling this.

• PHP: Need help with simple XML.

  I am beginner in PHP. I am trying to parse this xml file. <relationship> <target> <following type="boolean">true</following> <followed_by type="boolean">true</followed_by> <screen_name>xxxx</screen_name> <id type="integer">xxxx</id> </target> </relationship> I need to get the value of the field 'following type="boolean" ' and here's my code - $xml = simplexml_load_string($response); foreach($xml->children() as $child) { if ($child->getName() == 'target') { foreach($child->children() as $child_1) if ( $child_1->getName() == 'following') { $is_my_friend = (bool)$child_1; break; } break; } } but I am not getting the correct output. I think the ' type="boolean" ' part of the field is creating problems. I know this might be a very trivial problem. Kindly bear with my ignorance. Please help.

• Execute a remote command after sudo - su anotheruser in Rundeck

  I'm new with Rundeck and completely amazed with it and I'm trying to execute a job and my scenario is detailed below: Rundeck is configured with ssh passwordless authentication for user master between node Server (rundeck server) and node Target (remote Solaris host) for user "master" In node Target I want to execute a script /app/acme/stopApp.sh with a user appmanager Normally and manually, when I need to run script above I proceed with ssh master@server sudo su - appmanager or simply ssh -t master@server 'sudo su - appmanager' works without password and finally run (as appmanager) /app/acme/stopApp.sh But I'm not sure how can I reproduce these steps using Rundeck. I read in some previous messages that for each job line rundeck use a new ssh connection, so the workflow below always fails for me with the messages: sudo: no tty present and no askpass program specified Remote command failed with exit status 1 Please someone could help me with some information to solve this issue. Without this functionality I wouldn't be able to introduce a little DevOps in my department. I read the user guide and admin guide but I couldn't find an easy example, neither in this forum, to follow.
