  • How can data templates in generic.xaml get applied automatically?

    I have a custom control that has a ContentPresenter that will have an arbitrary object set as it content. This object does not have any constraint on its type, so I want this control to display its content based on any data templates defined by application or by data templates defined in Generic.xaml. If in a application I define some data template(without a key because I want it to be applied automatically to objects of that type) and I use the custom control bound to an object of that type, the data template gets applied automatically. But I have some data templates defined for some types in the generic.xaml where I define the custom control style, and these templates are not getting applied automatically. Here is the generic.xaml : If I set an object of type 'PredefinedType' as the content in the contentpresenter, the data template does not get applied. However, If it works if I define the data template in the app.xaml for the application thats using the custom control. Does someone got a clue? I really cant assume that the user of the control will define this data template, so I need some way to tie it up with the custom control.

  • Easy way to use Images in WPF

    Hi All I've only just started using WPF. (I'm a WinForms guy), and from what I can see, trying to simply drag an image onto the Window is a huge PAIN. There seems to be no way where you can just select an option to tell it what picture to put indide the image control. I've seen so many sites within the last 10 minutes with atleast 10lines of code just to insert animage into a window. Is there an easier way?

  • How can i create a ModalPopupExtender control dynamically from a server control?

    I have a composite server control that does quiet a number of things; one of which is to display a ModalPopup OnClick of a dynamically generated HtmlAnchor control. I need to create this ModalPopupExtender control dynamically in my server control and trigger it from within. I have been able to create it and trigger it from a button created at design time but not at runtime. This is as a result of the ID assign to the link is always not found by the ModalPopupExtender control. I have tried assigning a static ID but no success. Can anyone help?

    I'm going to ask a newbie question here. I need to use a control I found online in my code, but it was written in the wrong language. It is in C# and I am using VB.net for work. I have all of the code for the control which works beautifully in C#, but I had issues with it not working very well in VB. The source code and a demo project are available here, but I am not sure exactly which files I should use to build the dll for VB. It seems a lot to ask, but would someone mind taking a look and pointing me in the right direction? Cheers

It can have more than 3 menu item and it can traverse through previous and next arrow. I started with like this, RelativeLayout ( width - fill_parent) Gallery View ( Here i appended adapter ) There is two problem, - Gallery view contains the space before and after - While scrolling its item gets selected Though its not ideal solution for this. What method can I override or page event where I am ensured that the property state is set? I think in a page it is PageLoaded versus the Page_Load override?   • Trying to re-create UI object from the native iPhone Calendar Notes

    Probably a lame question for a start but i'm trying to re-create the ui object that's used in Apple's native Calendar to create notes. It's the basic text-field but with multiple lines. However, I only want this message to be displayed AFTER all of the client side validations have passed. How can I do this? Essentially, I believe that I need to force Page level validation from the client and then, only if it passes, display the confirmation box.

    Hi, this is just a question to discuss - what is the best way to make a view/edit control in WPF? E.g. we have an entity object Person, that has some props (name, surname, address, phone etc.). One presentation of the control would be a read-only view. And the other would have the edit view for this same person. The two options I see right now two grids with visibility switching and a TabControl without its header panel This is just a discussion question - not much trouble with it, yet I am just wondering if there are any other possibilities and elegant solutions to this.
