• Access writes issue in MAC

  Hi All, I have a MAC machine running MAC OS Version 10.6.6. I have added my mac machine to a domain controller (which runs Windows version of server) and allow users from domain controller to login. Because of our server migration, we removed the mac machine from old domain controller and added it to the new domain controller. Users in the old domain controller are copied to new domain controller. When I login into mac (which is added to new domain controller) with the domain controller user credentials, I was not able to access my desktop folders and any other folders in my users directory. It says "The folder Desktop can't be opened because you don't have permission its contents" Any idea why I was not able to access my home directory and how can I resolve this issue...!

  How do you migrate a part of an SVN repository into a new repository? To migrate the contents of a complete SVN repository into a new repository, one has to dump the old repository first: svnadmin dump /path/to/repository > repository-name.dmp and then load it into the new one using svnadmin load. But I'm not sure how to just migrate a part. Do I still have to dump the whole thing? Do I grep for the part that I want? To just dump myproject, I tried this, but it didn't work: svnadmin dump /path/to/repository/myproject Any ideas?

  A hook is a process running to get data from another (more info), well the case was that I wanted to get the methods or functions using any application for access to a network, these methods are usually WSAConnect (), WSASendTo (), bind (), connect () and sendto () [these are the ones that need to get to the application]. I started testing, creating Runtime [Runtime.getRuntime (). exec (...)] with all possible methods [addShutdownHook (...);] and now I'm trying to ProcessBuilder [new ProcessBuilder (...);] and the famous BufferedReader [new BufferedReader (new InputStreamReader (proceso.getInputStream ()));] but I could not find the way to do it. • Email not working on testing site in Plesk before DNS switch

  I have to test my website before my DNS is swtiched to the new server. My New server is having Plesk. I changed my hosts file to point to the new server and I tested the site. My Site is working fine. However, When I try to register I have 2 emails sent one to the user and one to the admin. Admin email id is same as the server name for example my site name is test.com the admin email is [email protected]. So email is not sent to the admin. I know the email is not sent because the Plesk his searching its own dns instead of Global public DNS. Do any one know how to make my site see public DNS on sending email in Plesk. If I set Goole Public DNS 8.8.8.8 for MS record will it work.. Please guide me. Thanks in advance..

• Ecommerce Database DNS Switch

  Hello, I am moving an e-commerce site to a new server. All has been successful and its time to change the DNS for the domain. It's a relatively popular site and I fear that during propagation orders will be split between the old database and the new one. The databases do contain content that is dependent of the server it is on (Cache path, upload directory, etc.) so I can't just point the old site to the new database. • 256 SSD / 2TB Internal drive, i7, 16GB RAM.. explorer.exe still slow

  OK, so I just got done tweaking my brand new PC and explorer.exe still manages to be sluggish not as snappy as I'd like or expected at all. Specs are i7 4th gen processor, 16GB RAM, windows 7 64 home premium on 256GB SSD, secondary internal 2TB drive. I assumed system would be lightning fast, been doing a bunch of researching and switched out a lot of different settings including enabling/disabling indexing, turning pagefile on/off or placing it on separate drive, turning folder optimization options on/off.. changes have been minimal or none at all. Any further advice or anything I might be missing, besides a new/repair install? PC is literally 3 days old I don't feel like I need a new install at all

• How do you get SharePoint back in sync when you change a user's sAMAccountName?

  I have observed on SharePoint 2010 that if you change the sAMAccountName of a user after the user has logged into a SharePoint site collection, the tp_Login field in the UserInfo table does not get updated. It still has the old user Id. While the user can log into SharePoint under the new account, these new logins do not update the table. I have code that looks at the SPUser.LoginName and this value appears to be the tp_Login field value which is now old. The fact that this value is old causes my code to fail. I suspect this behavior is identical in SharePoint 2007. Is there any way to force SharePoint to recognize the new sAMAccountName? I suspect that profile synchronization might help, but I would like for my solution to work with WSS 3.0 and SharePoint 2010 Foundation. I considered manually updating the database table, but I would like to stick with supported approaches.

• Recovering OST file without profile

  We have a Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 and offer this solution to many customers. Recently, a customer had his personal Exchange server crash (which is what made him our customer). He called some technician to see if he could repair his server before calling us, but this said tech wasn't able to do anything for them. Now that all his mailbox are on our server, he would like to transfer his old emails over to the new profile, but the tech deleted all profiles on the client machines while trying to repair his Exchange server. So my customer still has the OST files but they are not related to any profiles. Is there any way to re-attach them to a profile, or to convert them into PST files that he could then import into his new profile? The only thing I found were third party software that could to the conversion, but I am wondering if Microsoft has any tools that could re-attach the OST to a new profile. I have also tried the scanpst.exe and scanost.exe to no avail. Thank you

• Zyxel p-2602HW-1DA - LAN to WAN routing problems

  Hi Got a new router yesterday (due to new internet supplier) and now all my requests for my own server (local lan) is routed directly to the router instead of the server, when using dns. Ex. I have a website www.mysite.org running on my server at home (local lan). From work I can access it via www.mysite.org, which is great. But from home (local lan) my request's for www.mysite.org gets rerouted to the routers web admin interface My last router didn't do this. My new router is a Zyxel P-2602HW-1DA, my old one was a LinkSys WRT-54GC V. 2.0. There's a rather wierd WAN-LAN, WAN-WAN setup interface which I cant really comprehend yet and the docs are rather vague. Have anyone had the same problem and can anyone guide me to a solution, would nice not write the ip address everytime i need to access the server on local lan. :). Kind regards Garrett

  How to get my information off my old hard drive to my new one So I wanna know can anyone help me Laptop stop working and have me a hard disk error I finally got it to boot up again after playing with it, and I tried to copy my stuff and it froze on me and hasn't booted since Bought another hard drive and ended up making an image of my friends computer but couldn't get my stuff off my old drive so I tried the freezer method now and I put it in for two hours and it didn't boot but I'm putting it back in for 12hrs So my end result is I just wanna get my drive up enough to create an image of my CPU to my new hard drive and is there another way I could do it if my hard drive won't boot!! But here's the kickers when I made the image of my friends computerized up loaded it to the new hard drive and I have my old hard drive plugged up to an USB enclosure so I need help. • Mac claims to have connected to wireless network, but hasn't

  I am attempting to connect a new mac OSX 10.6.5 laptop to a wireless network (I am a windows expert but a mac novice). It used to connect without problem to the network when I had the security set to "64 bit wep". Now I have changed the security on my belkin router to "WPA-PSK (no server)". I have two PC's and an old mac connecting via the new security setting without problem. Now I have the problem that on the new mac, the wireless icon is indicating a good connection (5 dark bars). Also the network name has a tick next to it on the wireless drop down menu. But I can not view any websites. I can not even connect to the router by typing 192.168.2.1 into a browser address bar. Any ideas where I went wrong?

• Deploy virtual PC based on snapshot using Hyper-V

  I have a server with Hyper-V configured, it is easy to create a new virtual machine using the management tools, but it can take some time. I often see those hosts that say "We can have your server ready in 5 seconds". And I wonder how do they manage this? I would also like to deploy a full functional clean server in 5 seconds. So how is this done? Is it by first installing a clean server, then take a snapshot of that for later to deploy a new server based on that snapshot? I tried doing this, but I did not find any where to install a new virtual machine based on the snapshot. Anyone got any thoughts to share on this?

• Slash Notation IP - What is what?

  We just signed up with a new ISP and we got a static IP from them. Our previous ISP just gave one IP and we were able to configure our web server using that. Now, we have got this new IP with a slash notation. This type is new to me. When I used the CIDR calculator, it gave me the following results: 202.184.7.52/30 IP: 202.184.7.52 Netmask: 255.255.255.252 Number of hosts: 2 Network address: 202.184.7.52 Broadcast address: 202.184.7.55 Can someone please help me by explaining what these are? I could not understand what the number of hosts means. Is that telling that I can use two different IP for DNS (A) records? Also, which one should I setup in my router? The network address or broadcast address? Thank you very much for any answer you may provide.

• Safari 5 fails to install on my Mac

  I just got the new Safari 5.0 I downloaded because my Mac told me there was a new version that I should be getting. But when I try to run this new version of the application -- nothing happens! I mean the program seems to be working but nothing appears on the screen and so when I try to see my top sites a little window shows up but it just doesn't show anything.   I got a new screen for a Dell Inspiron 1545. The old screen says Dell Inspiron 1545 LP156WH1 (TL)(C1?) HD and the new one says Dell Inspiron 1545 LP156WH1 (TL)(C1?) LCD Does that make a difference? All I can get to work on the new screen is the backlight. The old screen had a crack. Now when I plug the old one in, it will not turn on at all. Could I have blown the inverter or messed up the cable?

  I want to subscribe to a youtube channel and automatically download new videos to my linux machine. I know I could do this e.g. with miro, but I will not watch the videos using Miro, want to choose the quality and would like to run it as a cronjob. It should be able to: know which feed entries are new and not download old entries resume (or at least redownload) failed/incomplete downloads from older sessions Are there any complete solutions for this? If not it would be enough for me (maybe even preferable) to just have a command line rss reader that remembers which entries have already been there and writes the new video urls (e.g. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FodYFMaI4vQ&feature=youtube_gdata from http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/users/tedxtalks/uploads) into a file. I could then accomplish the rest using a bash script and youtube-dl. What would be programs usable for this purpose?

• Can many addon domains slow down cPanel or create problems?

  I actually resell hosting plans by using one single cPanel account and many addon domains under it. Basically for each new user I don't create a new cP account, but I simply create a new ADDON domain and give him the necessary space. I know in this way the final user won't be able to manage his emails and he won't be able to access all cPanel features, but that's ok. I know in my account I'm allowed to add unlimited addon domains, but adding many addon domains is there something that might happen that slows down cPanel or could create problems? Any suggestions you could give me about the way i'm using cPanel which might not be the usual way of using it. (As for instance: "be aware that mails from different addon domains under the same CP account could create many problems.", etc.) Thanks!

I got a great solution, but it presented another question: How can I map a key command in my .vimrc that involves piping output in the shell? As a simple example, let's say I wanted to pipe the results of ls -a to a new MacVim window. From the Vim command line I can enter !ls -a | mvim -, and the results will appear in a new window. Great! Now, I add that to my .vimrc: nmap <Leader>r :w !ls | mvim<CR> Vim now throws an error every time I try to source my .vimrc, which reads as follows: E492: Not an editor command: mvim<CR> Any ideas on how to overcome this?

• "Classic" activity monitor in SQL Server Management Studio 2008?

  Right now I'm using SQL Server Management Studio 2005 to manage all my SQL servers (2000, 2005, 2008). I'd love to be able to take advantage of all the cool new features in SSMS 2008, the only thing holding me back is the new DMV-based activity monitor: We are still 40% SQL 2000, which doesn't have the required DMVs for the new monitors I don't like it as much as the old one :) So has anyone made a plugin for SSMS 2008 that emulates the old activity monitor? If not, what about a slick set of scripts that accomplish the same thing or better, and work across 2000-2008 (more than just sp_who2)?

• b Is it bad to have the Reverse DNS for two IPs point to the same domain name?

  I am in the process of setting up a new server for my web application (the site will be moved, it is not for load balancing or the like), which has a different IP address from my existing server. My current server has a reverse DNS PTR record set up pointing its IP to mydomain.com. Is it bad to set up a reverse DNS PTR record for the new IP pointing to mydomain.com as well? Or should I wait until I do my migration to set up the record? Update: I forgot to mention, the A record for the mydomain.com points to the old server's IP address, not the new one, if it matters.
