    I type echo $PATH on the command line and get /opt/local/bin:/opt/local/sbin:/Users/andrew/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/mysql/bin:/usr/local/pear/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/X11/bin:/opt/local/bin:/usr/local/git/bin I'm wondering where this is getting set since my .bash_login file is empty. I'm particularly concerned that, after installing MacPorts, it installed a bunch of junk in /opt. I don't think that directory even exists in a normal Mac OS X install.   • How do I remove the on screen keyboard from the logon screen in Windows Remote Desktop Server 2008 R

    The on screen keyboard (OSK) from the "ease of access" tools pops up on EVERY connect to the server, even if you have not activated it. I can't seem to find a control panel or reg setting to switch it off. It is VERY "in your face" for linux users who connect at lower resolutions and do not provide all credentials, but have to type username and password. I'm running a 2008 R2 Terminal Server/Remote Desktop Server.

    We have an interesting hosting environment that dictates all secure traffic must travel over a specific sub domain. E.g. http://secure.domain.com/my-page I'd like to handle this switch using URL Rewrite, i.e. at server level, rather than application level. My cases are: https://secure.domain.com/page = NO CHANGE, remains the same https://domain.com/page = sub-domain inserted, https://secure.domain.com/page https://www.domain.com/page = remove 'www', insert sub-domain In my mind the logic is: INPUT = Full Url = http://www.domain.com/page If INPUT contains HTTPS Then check Full URL, does it contain 'secure'? If YES do nothing, if no add 'secure' If INPUT contains 'www' remove 'www' The certificate is not a wild card (e.g. top level domain) and is issues to: https://secure.domain.com/ The website could also be hosted in a staging environment. E.g. https://secure.environment.domain.com/ I do not have control over 'environment' or 'domain' or the 'tld'.     I have a CGI script called index.cgi It is trying to read a log file called 10.128.0.242.2012.sep.20.downloaded.txt under the path /var/log/trafcount/ It appears that it is being blocked by selinux.     Hi folks, I cannot connect to the database anymore, I'm getting: Cannot open user default database. Login failed. I have deleted the database during a previous session and then tried to recreate it. But the recreate failed. Now I am stuck with this error, what can I do? Edit: I'm using Windows Authentication Any ideas? Fixed: use the command: sqlcmd -E -d master then type: ALTER LOGIN [Your Windows Login] WITH DEFAULT_DATABASE=master GO :)

    Hello, I bought a Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000 web camera for may parent's Dell Dimension 3000 computer running XP SP 3, and I cannot get it to run. THe installation ran successfully, but when I try to run it, I get the error: Faulting application lifecam.exe, version 3.21.263.0, faulting module kernel32.dll, version 5.1.2600.5781, fault address 0x00012afb. The microsoft help link really didn't help... how do I even resolve this type of error? Thanks.

    I am trying to use escape charaters in my text output, as i would like too surround the output in emailData tags. I am using <xsl:text>&#60;emailData&#62;</xsl:text> In the XSLT to esnure that this works however because i am using a tool called Cast Iron for some reason it is not converting the &#60; into < and just spits out &lt;emailData> You can see am image of it HERE that illustrates the output i am getting.   • "Phased" execution of functions in javascript

This is my first post on stackoverflow, so please don't flame me too hard if I come across like a total nitwit or if I'm unable ot make myself perfectly clear. :-) Here's my problem: I'm trying to write a javascript function that "ties" two functions to another by checking the first one's completion and then executing the second one. The easy solution to this obviously would be to write a meta function that calls both functions within it's scope. However, if the first function is asynchronous (specifically an AJAX call) and the second function requires the first one's result data, that simply won't work. My idea for a solution was to give the first function a "flag", i.e. making it create a public property "this.trigger" (initialized as "0", set to "1" upon completion) once it is called; doing that should make it possible for another function to check the flag for its value ([0,1]). If the condition is met ("trigger == 1") the second function should get called. Very likely the "checkCall()" function does not receive the updated object but instead only checks its old instance which obviously never flags completion by setting "this.trigger" to "1".   • T-SQL Dynamic SQL and Temp Tables

    It looks like #temptables created using dynamic SQL via the EXECUTE string method have a different scope and can't be referenced by "fixed" SQLs in the same stored procedure. However, I can reference a temp table created by a dynamic SQL statement in a subsequence dynamic SQL but it seems that a stored procedure does not return a query result to a calling client unless the SQL is fixed. A simple 2 table scenario: I have 2 tables. Let's call them Orders and Items. Order has a Primary key of OrderId and Items has a Primary Key of ItemId. Items.OrderId is the foreign key to identify the parent Order. An Order can have 1 to n Items. I want to be able to provide a very flexible "query builder" type interface to the user to allow the user to select what Items he want to see. The filter criteria can be based on fields from the Items table and/or from the parent Order table. If an Item meets the filter condition including and condition on the parent Order if one exists, the Item should be return in the query as well as the parent Order. Usually, I suppose, most people would construct a join between the Item table and the parent Order tables. I would like to perform 2 separate queries instead. One to return all of the qualifying Items and the other to return all of the distinct parent Orders. The reason is two fold and you may or may not agree. The first reason is that I need to query all of the columns in the parent Order table and if I did a single query to join the Orders table to the Items table, I would be repoeating the Order information multiple times. Since there are typically a large number of items per Order, I'd like to avoid this because it would result in much more data being transfered to a fat client. Instead, as mentioned, I would like to return the two tables individually in a dataset and use the two tables within to populate a custom Order and child Items client objects. (I don't know enough about LINQ or Entity Framework yet. I build my objects by hand). The second reason I would like to return two tables instead of one is because I already have another procedure that returns all of the Items for a given OrderId along with the parent Order and I would like to use the same 2-table approach so that I could reuse the client code to populate my custom Order and Client objects from the 2 datatables returned. What I was hoping to do was this: Construct a dynamic SQL string on the Client which joins the orders table to the Items table and filters appropriate on each table as specified by the custom filter created on the Winform fat-client app. The SQL build on the client would have looked something like this: TempSQL = " INSERT INTO #ItemsToQuery OrderId, ItemsId FROM Orders, Items WHERE Orders.OrderID = Items.OrderId AND /* Some unpredictable Order filters go here */ AND /* Some unpredictable Items filters go here */ " Then, I would call a stored procedure, CREATE PROCEDURE GetItemsAndOrders(@tempSql as text) Execute (@tempSQL) --to create the #ItemsToQuery table SELECT * FROM Items WHERE Items.ItemId IN (SELECT ItemId FROM #ItemsToQuery) SELECT * FROM Orders WHERE Orders.OrderId IN (SELECT DISTINCT OrderId FROM #ItemsToQuery) The problem with this approach is that #ItemsToQuery table, since it was created by dynamic SQL, is inaccessible from the following 2 static SQLs and if I change the static SQLs to dynamic, no results are passed back to the fat client. 3 around come to mind but I'm look for a better one: 1) The first SQL could be performed by executing the dynamically constructed SQL from the client. The results could then be passed as a table to a modified version of the above stored procedure. I am familiar with passing table data as XML. If I did this, the stored proc could then insert the data into a temporary table using a static SQL that, because it was created by dynamic SQL, could then be queried without issue. (I could also investigate into passing the new Table type param instead of XML.) However, I would like to avoid passing up potentially large lists to a stored procedure. 2) I could perform all the queries from the client. The first would be something like this: SELECT Items.* FROM Orders, Items WHERE Order.OrderId = Items.OrderId AND (dynamic filter) SELECT Orders.* FROM Orders, Items WHERE Order.OrderId = Items.OrderId AND (dynamic filter) This still provides me with the ability to reuse my client sided object-population code because the Orders and Items continue to be returned in two different tables. I have a feeling to, that I might have some options using a Table data type within my stored proc, but that is also new to me and I would appreciate a little bit of spoon feeding on that one. If you even scanned this far in what I wrote, I am surprised, but if so, I woul dappreciate any of your thoughts on how to accomplish this best.

Error setting audit daemon pid (Connection refused) [FAILED] The only information I can find online is that this may be due to SELinux, however SELinux is giving me problems of it's own. No matter what I do it appears to be disabled (I want to enable it). The configuration is set to enforced and the server has been rebooted many a time however sestatus still returns SELinux status: disabled. Can anyone shine some light on this problem? EDIT: I don't know if it is related but I noticed the following message appearing in my /var/log/messages Jun 10 16:25:22 s1 iscsid: iSCSI logger with pid=2056 started! Jun 10 16:25:22 s1 iscsid: Missing or Invalid version from /sys/module/scsi_transport_iscsi/version. Make sure a up to date scsi_transport_iscsi module is loaded and a up todate version of iscsid is running. Exiting...
