• CakePHP Form Helper - Show error class, but not error message

  I'm attempting to customize the error output on the CakePHP 2.0 form helper. Currently, the form renders error messages below the input and applies an 'error' class to the input's label. I have found that I can either disable error reporting altogether for an input, or output the error class and message. I would like the error class to be applied to the label of the offending inputs WITHOUT any message below. How do you turn off the error message outputting for a form, BUT still apply error classes to offending labels?

  I am having application.html where I used jquery.validate.js and it works fine and submit my data to process.php. But I want if there is an error generated by jquery.validate.js then I know the how many errors generated by validate.js in application.php. I am going to implement if there are number of errors generated then uploading function will be disable. If there is no error generated then uploading function will work. • Handling missing data

  Say I have a simple helpdesk application which logs calls made by users. I would typically have such fields in a table relating to the call e.g. CallID, Description, CustomerID etc. I Would also have a table of customers including CustomerID, Username, Password, FullName etc. Now when a user is deleted from the customers table then the inner join between the calls table and the users table to find out historically which user logged a call would produce no results. How do people usually deal with this? Have seperate customer and useraccount tables Just disable the accounts so the data is still available Record the customers name in the calls table as a seperate field. or any other methods / suggestions?

• How does youtube enable ascii videos?

  Just by messing around a little it seems that the video stream is not ascii. i tested by downloading the stream. It would be insane if it was. Theres so many videos. So that couldnt be it. Youtube seems to not work with javascript disable (not counting mobile if true). How is it being done? is it javascript magic? is the SWF running the video through a filter in realtime? (I doubt its a native filter so how is the filter compiled) its really cool. I cant imagine how this is running realtime yet it is!

  Hi I am having trouble with the onmouseout function in a absolute positoned div. When the mouse hits a child element in the div, the mouseout event fires, but I do not want it to fire until the mouse is out of the parent, absolute div. How can I prevent the mouseout event from firing when it hits a child element WITHOUT jquery. I know this has something to do with event bubbling, but I am having no luck on finding out how to work this out. • Why is it when I set "closeOnEscape" to false and then "closeOnEscape" to true jquery dialog escape

  Hi I am using jquery ui 1.8 and I have a model dialog that popups up and if a user clicks on a checkbox another one comes up. This requires them to say "yes" or "no" so I removed the "X" on the dialog and put closeOnEscape to false. However I noticed when I did that the model dialog underneath it would close when they hit escape. So now when the one that pops up when the checkbox is checked I disable closeOnEscape on the first dialog box. When they close it I enable again yet it does not work. I am not sure why $("#Dialog").dialog( "option", "closeOnEscape", true); I even do this in firebug. I just open my first dialog up Do this in firebugs console $("#Dialog").dialog( "option", "closeOnEscape", false); Then verify that escape is now disabled. I then try to enable it again $("#Dialog").dialog( "option", "closeOnEscape", true); Yet it never enables.

• Prevent Apache from answering invalid requests

  I have an Apache web-server that acts as a web front-end for iPhone and iPad applications that communicate by POST and JSON only. Is there any way to prevent Apache from answering requests that are invalid? I can see my error log is filled with attempts to open files such as /admin.php /index.php etc - files that don't exist on my server. I believe this is possible with IIS, but can you do the same thing with Apache? Basically I want the request to appear timed out unless you post exactly the right content to the right file - or at least if you do not request an existing file. This would make the server appear non-existing to everyone but my iPhone users as all communication is SSL and directories are not really guess-able. I did disable the ServerTokens and all that, but I still get File not found etc. when I access the server requesting a random file, which is what these bots do constantly.

• scala coalesces multiple function call parameters into a Tuple -- can this be disabled?

  This is a troublesome violation of type safety in my project, so I'm looking for a way to disable it. It seems that if a function takes an AnyRef (or a java.lang.Object), you can call the function with any combination of parameters, and Scala will coalesce the parameters into a Tuple object and invoke the function. In my case the function isn't expecting a Tuple, and fails at runtime. • AdMob won't load programmatically

  I'm need to include ads into my app and I have a settings option to disable ads. so I need to load the ad in code. I copied the code from google to handle that and when I set ads:loadAdOnCreate to true, it works just fine. But if I set it to false and add the two lines AdView adView = (AdView)this.findViewById(R.id.ad); adView.loadAd(new AdRequest()); The ads stop displaying. If I look at log cat, it shows that it is receiving an ad and trying to display it. However it won't actually display on screen. Help?

  Hi there. I have occured a problem: I'm writing a widget, which displays current date's day number. It's like a button, but it's not derived from QPushButton class. Just from QWidget. So I reimplemented enterEvent(), leaveEvent(), mousePressEvent(), mouseReleaseEvent(). I call update() inside these methods and widget has realistic button behavior (paintEvent() is reimplemented too). But when I change system date and hover that widget with other window, my widget doesn't calls paintEvent() and displays old date. Only when I place mouse over it, widget repaints it's contents. I guess there is an option, which paints old contents on hover event to avoid unnecessary paint events. But I need to disable it. Tried to set many attributes (Qt::WidgetAttribute enum). But it doesn't helps. Please, help me (and sorry for my bad english).

  Hello, I have a problem: I've add a Jquery UI drag-n-drop widget to my page, but after that I can't type anything into inputs or textareas. I use jQuery 1.4.2 and jQuery UI 1.8rc3, and tiny_mce for convert textareas into WYSIWUG editor (I've tried to disable tiny_mce). When I put $("input").click( function(){ alert('clicked!'); }); - it's working(I have an alert). When I get focused to any input I even can't refresh page by F5 and go to the next element by Tab key. • Running a piece of code for a certain amount of time in C#?

  Hi I am working on a robot that is capable of motion detection using a webcam. I am doing this in C# The robot moves too fast, so I want to turn it on/off at short time intervals in order to reduce its speed. For example, it will start the engine then wait 0.5 second and turn it off, this cycle repeats every 2 seconds. This way, its speed wont be too fast. I would like to include this in a single function called Move() I just don't know how to do this, especially because my motion detection code runs like 20 times a second. Depending on the position of the obstacle, I may need to disable the Move() function and activate other functions that let the robot move into other directions. Any ideas/suggestions on where am I supposed to start? Thanks a lot!

  Its a two part question. How do i use SQL Server 2008? With Visual Studios? I started up a dummy project and with server explorer i tried with create new sql server database and add connection using my computer name (it came from a dropdown) as the server location. When i tried to create the database 'TestDB1' i got an error. I dont understand why. Its a fresh install and i have restarted the comp a few times since then. I havent messed with visual studios or the servers or even the control options to disable anything that would have been automatic. So whats with this? -edit- My goals are 1) create a database. 2) Be able to see all the database that exist on the server 3) execute sql queries in the ide 4) be able to browse tables. I dont need all of these but as many possible would be nice.

As a result, the 'thisVariationID' and 'thisOrderID' variables are being reset by the latest iteration of a loop before they can be used in the slower getJSON function. • SSRS Export to Excel not working through VPN (Juniper SA4000)

  We have a SharePoint (MOSS 2007 on Win2003 R2) with SSRS reports (from SQL 2005) embedded in it. When we connect to the SharePoint portal through our VPN (firewall is Juniper SA4000) and using Internet Explorer (6, 7, and 8) and try to export any SSRS report under Excel, we get an error message: Internet Explorer cannot download . Internet Explorer was not able to open the internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later. When not using the VPN (LAN from the office), everything (exporting under Excel) works fine. When using Firefox through the VPN, it works fine. When exporting to any other format (pdf or text or whatever), everything is fine under both IE and FF. Our firewall people suspect something in SSRS/MOSS/Office. Our MOSS consultants suspect something in the firewall Juniper SA4000. • Cannot SSH after resetting firewall on VPS

  I'm having trouble trying to SSH to my Debian 5 VPS with blacknight. It was working fine until I did the following: Logged into 'Parallels Infrastructure Manager' - Container - Firewall - Set to 'Normal Firewall settings'. It told me there was an error with the IPTables and offered the option again with a checkbox to 'reset' firewall settings, I selected this. I can see that that the default rules are been applied ( anything from anyone on any port and allowing anything to happen).
