  • Why my MainWindow doesn't get he focus?

    window = self.builder.get_object("main-window") print window.get_focus() print window.has_focus() print window.is_active() print window.has_toplevel_focus() Terminal output: <MainWindow object at 0x28c26e0 (Mainwindow at 0x26a1210)> False False False So I got the right answer on get_focus(), but when I ask is MainWindows has the focus, it is return with False. Why? I don't understand it. I would like to write a method to focus_changed, but I can't if it doesn't works.

  • Crash During Update Deleted ALL panels; can't open terminal; can't see icons

    So I was upgrading Ubuntu from 11.10 to 12.04 in the terminal after recovering my system from a previous crash, and then I go through a power outage during the second time trying to update. NOW, my screen is white, only the time shows up in the top right corner, no icons show up, no apps show up, AND terminal is NOT opening. I can still use the internet somehow, and ctrl + alt + F2 opens what I think is a back-up terminal? NEED HELP to recover what is lost.

    I have dell inspiron q17r with two graphic cards and I noticed that it is overheating.     Over the past several weeks, we’ve been incrementally rolling out a bunch of enhancements around our pull request workflow for Git and Mercurial projects. Our goal is to make contributing to open source projects a simple and rewarding experience, and we’ll continue to invest in this area. Here’s a summary of the changes so far, in case you’ve missed them. As always, if you have any feedback, please let us know, whether on our ideas page or via Twitter. Support for branches You can now pick the source and destination branches for your pull request, whether you’re sending one from your fork, or using it within a project to collaborate with your other trusted contributors. A redesigned creation experience Our old pull request creation form was rather lacking. It asked for a title and comment in a small modal dialog, but that was about it. We knew we could do better, so we rethought the experience. Now, when you create a pull request, you’re taken to a new page that let’s you select the source and destination, and gives you information on the diffs and commits that you’re sending, so you can confirm that you’re sending the right set of changes. Inline code snippets in discussion If users comment on code in your pull request, we now display a preview of the snippet of relevant code inline with their comment on the discussion. Subsequent replies on that line are combined in a single thread to preserve your context. No more clicking and hunting to find where the comments are. And you can add another inline comment right from the discussion area. Comment notifications You can now elect receive an e-mail notification if a user comments on your pull request. If it’s on a line of code, we’ll display the relevant code snippet in the e-mail. Redesigned diff viewer Our old diff viewer hadn’t been touched in a while, and was in need of an update. We started with a visual facelift to use standard red/green colors for additions/deletions and remove the noisy “dots” that represented spaces and that littered the diff viewer. Based on feedback that the viewable region for diffs was too small, especially for smaller screen resolutions, we revamped the way the viewport for the code is sized, and now expand it to fill the majority of the browser height when scrolling down. The set of improvements we implemented here also apply anywhere diffs are viewed, not just for pull requests.

In one of these high towers you can find the Oracle offices, friendly and modern. The stunning view will keep capture your attention for a couple of minutes and then you can enjoy a delicious coffee and take a seat at your desk, starting a new day. My name is Dmitry and I can tell you that we’re enjoying every minute spent in the office and that’s because of the pleasant atmosphere. As soon as you enter the offices, the friendly environment will make you feel more relaxed. Even though the space is split between the different departments, we interact and communicate a lot. We take our cup of coffee or tea together and discuss our achievements and all sort of subjects in the kitchen or in the open space. One of my favorite parts are the festive events when we celebrate with cakes and goodies. Any birthday or new arrival is a good reason for a tea party! We have some work-related traditions that help us as employees. One of them is the monthly Tech Hour when Experts from the Pre-sales team discuss technical topics and about the most recent innovations within the company. Lunch is another good opportunity to interact and chat. We have a variety of options, such as the two kitchens or the vast number of restaurants where you can serve up anything you want. As we are right in the centre of Moscow, you can choose between Sushi, Italian Pasta and all sorts of food. We usually go with our colleagues to have lunch. If you care about your health, I have very good news for you as nearby there are two first-class fitness centres with swimming pools, yoga and various sport classes that you can attend. My suggestion would be to either start or end your day with a visit to the swimming pool for a well-deserved hour of relaxation. As I mentioned before, we’re right in the heart of Moscow, so after work you can spend some time in the large shopping centers where you can choose between many different entertainment options. We often go to bowling or to the cinema.     When you share a directory using samba, you can do this system-wide by editing the /etc/samba/smb.conf file (the advanced way) or by right-clicking a directory using Nautilus and selecting 'Sharing Options' (the easy way). However, while I can see what directories are shared system-wide by looking at /etc/samba/smb.conf, if I share directories using Nautilus, I do not know what directories that I (or other users) have shared. So how do I list all the directories that have been shared by samba using Nautilus Sharing Options for all the users on a system?

  • External HDMI poor quality

    When pluging an external HDMI display, it get detected and everything was supposed to be working right out of the box, except that when set the resolution to 1920x1080, the display on HDMI is really poor quality. Playing around with xrandr, when setting resolution at 1680x1050 or below, everything is smooth, when setting 1920x1080 or 1920x1080i, with wide variety of refresh rates, it's the same poor quality display. Unfortunely I can't post an image showing the exactly issue (low reputation). Specifications: Dell Inspiron 14 (Intel HD Graphics) Samsung TA550

  • Problem with DualBooting Ubuntu 13.10 and Win7

    this is my first post here on AskUbuntu, not first time using it though. I wanted to install Ubuntu 13.10 on my PC to have all my work stuff there and leave Win7 for gaming. So i did my research on how to Dual Boot when you already have Win7 installed, here are the steps i took Used Disk Management on Win7 and shrunk that partition, leaving 80GB free for Ubuntu. Made a Bootable pendrive following the instructions on Ubuntu`s website. During the installation steps there was supposed to be a Install alongside Win7, but there wasnt, so i chose Something else. Everything was fine and i was able to install Ubuntu no problem on my unallocated 80GB partition (76GB Ubuntu + 4GB swap) There was a prompt for me to restart my PC and so I did expecting to see the dual boot screen (grub right?) Now, when i restarted my PC, Grub never showed up and it booted straight to Windows. Then I did some more research and found out that that could happen. Tried three things then Plugging in bootable pendrive again and selected Try Ubuntu without installing. Then i followed some instructions found here (How can I repair grub? (How to get Ubuntu back after installing Windows?)) and i could chroot into my Ubuntu install just fine. Repaired grub as instructed on that link, restarted the PC and booted straight into Win7 again. Again, used the bootable pen drive to Try Ubuntu... and used the Boot-repair tool (recommended repair). Again, booted straight into Win7. Lastly, i installed easyBCD on my Win7 and made a new entry for Ubuntu (Linux/BSD). When i rebooted the PC, there was the option to choose between Win7 and Linux, chose linux and it didnt work, taking me straight to a command line-like enviroment that read Minimum bash like scripting or something, as if I didn`t have a Linux OS installed. So, I thought I`d try and repair my Ubuntu install. And during the Installation method step there was the choice to install alongside Ubuntu 13.10! and that right there drove me crazy. Here is a screenshot of gparted showing how things are set up now http://imageshack.us/f/801/77u3.png/ Notice on the left-hand side how i can access my installation files just fine. sdb1- win7 reserved space, sdb2- win7 OS, sdb3- 76GB ubuntu install, sdb5- 4GB swap area. Does anyone know why my Ubuntu 13.10 is not being recognized? and what should I do to get it working? Thanks and sorry for the long read and bad english! (BIOS = legacy)
