• Jwplayer 6: html5 fullscreen when video clicked to play

  I want to be able to use jwplayer so that when the user clicks on the video the video will start to play in fullscreen mode. I want this functionality to work on mobile devices that support html5. If the video is played on a mobile device it will take up the whole screen. Youtube and Vimeo currently do this on mobile devices. The Link Below uses Html5 video tag, which plays in fullscreen on mobile device when the video is clicked on. The only way I that I know that jwplayer allows fullscreen is that I manually click on the fullscreen button, but it would be nice to only click on the video to trigger the video to play in full screen.

• Pear MDB2 class and raiserror exceptions in MSSQL

  Hi, in MSSQL it's possible to raise an error with raiserror(). I want to use a severity, which doesn't interrupt the connection. This error is raised in a stored procedure. In SQL Management Studio all is fine and I get my error code when executing this SP. But when trying to execute this SP via MDB2 in PHP5 this doesn't work. All I get is an empty array. MDB2 object is created via (including needed options): $db =& MDB2::connect($dsn); $db->setFetchMode(MDB2_FETCHMODE_ASSOC); $db->setOption('portability',MDB2_PORTABILITY_ALL ^ MDB2_PORTABILITY_EMPTY_TO_NULL); The following works (I get a PEAR error): $db->query("RAISERROR('test',11,0);"); But when calling a stored procedure which raises this error via $db->query("EXEC sp_raise_error"); there is not output. What's wrong?

• WPF ComboBox SelectedItem - change to previous value

  Hello, I have a ComboBox that has the SelectedItem bound to the ViewModel. <ComboBox SelectedItem="{Binding SelItem, Mode=TwoWay}" ItemsSource="{Binding MyItems}"> When the user selects a new Item in the View ComboBox, I want to display a prompt and verify that they want to make the change. In the SetItem Property setter in the View Model, I display a Dialog to confirm the selection. When they say yes, it works fine. My problem is, when the user clicks on "No" I am not sure who to get the ComboBox to revert back to the previous value. The Property in the ViewModel has the correct older value, however in the View the ComboBox displays the newly Selected Value. I want the user to select an item, confirm they want to go ahead with it, and if they decide not to, I want the ComboBox to revert back to the previous item. How can I accomplish this? Thanks!

  Hi everybody! In a Silverlight 4 proj i'm using WCF RIA services, MVVM principles and EF 4. I 'm running into this situation: created an entity called Category and another one called CategoryLocale (automated using VS, no POCO). The relation between them is 1 to N respectively (one Category can have many CategoryLocales), so trough this relationship one can implement master-detail scenarios. Everytime i change a property in the master record (Category) i get a notifypropertychanged notification raised. But: whenever i change a property in the detail (CategoryLocales) i don't get anything raised. • Which Cortex-M3 interrupts can I use for general purpose work?

  I'd have some code that needs to be run as the result of a particular interrupt going off. I don't want to execute it in the context of the interrupt itself but I also don't want it to execute in thread mode. I would like to run it at a priority that's lower than the high level interrupt that precipitated its running but also a priority that higher than thread level (and some other interrupts as well). I think I need to use one of the other interrupt handlers. Which ones are the best to use and what the best way to invoke them? At the moment I'm planning on just using the interrupt handlers for some peripherals that I'm not using and invoking them by setting bits directly through the NVIC but I was hoping there's a better, more official way. • Finding the order of method calls in Eclipse

  Suppose I have a big program that consists of hundreds of methods in it. And according to the nature of input the program flow is getting changed. Think I want to make a change to the original flow. And it is big hassle to find call hierarchy/ references and understand the flow. Do I have any solution for this within Eclipse? Or a plugin? As an example, I just need a Log of method names that is in order of time. Then I don't need to worry about the methods that are not relevant with my "given input" Update : Using debug mode in eclipse or adding print messages are not feasible. The program is sooooo big. :)

• Filesystem synchronization library?

  Hi, I've got 10 GB of files to back up daily to another site. The client is way out in the country so bandwidth is an issue. Does anyone know of any existing software or libraries out there that help with keeping a folder with its files synchronized across a slow link, that is it only sends files across if they have changed? Some kind of hash checking would be nice, too, to at least confirm the two sides are the same. I don't mind paying some money for it, seeing as how it might take me several weeks to a month to implement something decent on my own. I just don't want to re-invent the wheel, here. BTW it is a windows shop (they have an in house windows IT guy) so windows is preferred. I also have 10 GB of SQL Server 2000 databases to go across. Is the SQL server replication mode reliable?   Tableau is extremely flexible when it comes to visualizing and playing around with datasets, but it is extremely slow when you go into "production mode" and publish a particular view that you've created onto your server. Does anyone know of any tools that can be used to connect to a database, present interactive (or somewhat interactive) dashboards, and perform reasonably well when published to a server? • Preventing Rails from opening production.log, when it is deployed with jruby-rack into tomcat.

  I have to to deploy a Ruby on Rails application to an tomcat application server using jruby-rack. Due to security reasons my customer has the webapps directory mounted read only and he won't changed this. The problem that arises is, that the rails logger wants to open the WEB-INF/log/production.log in write mode. He writes nothing to this file because log4j and friends are configured and working, but rails complains that the file is not readable. Are there any suggestions from preventing rails from opening this file?

  I am using rails 3.0.0.beta3 and I am trying to implement form with nested attributes using :accepts_nested_attributes_for. My form is nested to three levels: Survey Question Answer. Survey has_many Questions, and Question has many Answers. Inside the Survey model, there is :accepts_nested_attributes_for :questions and inside the question mode, there is :accepts_nested_attributes_for :answers Everything is working fine except when I add a new answer to an existing question, it doesn't get created. However, if I make changes to the corresponding question while creating the answer, I can successfully create the answer. This example is exactly similar to a railscast: http://railscasts.com/episodes/197-nested-model-form-part-2 but doesn't work in rails3 (at least in my case). Please let me know if there is any issue with nested attributes in Rails 3. Thanks in advance.

  I am less then a year from graduating with my bachelors in web development, however I would like to continue on with a masters in programming. As far as I can tell, what I want is a masters in software engineering. Sadly my current college only offers more management oriented masters level degrees, and I want something that is programming, not business. Ultimately my goal is to teach online and work freelance on the side. Here's the problem - I am visually impaired, so I do not drive and I prefer to take my classes entirely online. I have heard enough to avoid university of phoenix... and I have heard some good about walden, regis, and penn state's online MSSE programs. I am wondering if anyone here knows of any other good ones, or ones I should avoid. I have heard mixed reviews of Colorado Tech.

  I've got some drivers which are basically LibUSB-Win32 with a new .inf file do describe product/vendor ids and strings which describe my hardware. This works fine for 32 bit windows, but 64 bit versions have problems; namely that Microsoft in their wisdom require all drivers to be digitally signed. So my questions are thus: Is there a version of the LibUSB-Win32 drivers which are already signed I could use? If there aren't already some signed ones I can canibalise, what exactly do I have to do to get my drivers signed. Do I need to get 64 and 32 bit versions signed separately and will this cost more? Is this a free alternative to getting them signed? Are there any other options I should consider besides requiring that my customers boot into test mode each time they start their machines (not an option I'd consider).

• Sniffing LPT Traffic

  I need to intercept LPT output traffic. After a couple of hours of research, I've come to understand that the only way to do this is by writing a kernel-mode driver, more precisely a "filter driver"...? I've downloaded the WDK, but the terminology and vast number of driver types is a little overwhelming. I'm basically trying to understand what kind of driver I should be writing; my target environment is Windows XP SP2 and 3 only. Some background info, if it matters: I have a bunch of legacy DOS apps that print to LPT1. I'd like to be able to capture this output and redirect this data (after GDI calls) to a modern USB (network) printer. Fortunately, the latter part of the problem's easy. I'm hoping someone could point me in the right direction. TIA.

• Localization as an afterthought-- screwed?

  So I signed on with a startup web development company as a subcontractor. They are putting together a large, complex user/product management system for a company that needs to support multiple levels of hierarchial localization. I signed a 3 month contract, and upon looking at their code, wish I hadn't. They opted to write their own MVC framework (I guess the client company didn't want to use a prewritten one) and it's extremely poorly written. There's SQL scattered throughout almost every model view and controller (and there's no parameter-based find methods, it's all SQL) and they haven't even THOUGHT about localization yet-- something that will have an affect on nearly EVERY query. The due date is 4 months away, and I honestly think we'd make good progress by scrapping the whole thing and going with CakePHP. Have any of you been in a similar situation, and what did you do? PS: This is written in PHP/MySQL.

• Can I make a folder writeable in Medium trust?

  My web app writes to several folders (logs, uploads, etc), and I've always set these permissions manually through my hosting provider. I'd like to create a setup script that performs this on new installations. Is this possible under Medium trust? I can't even call File.GetAccessControl, let alone File.SetAccessControl, but I don't need such a "big hammer", anyway. I just want to do what the ISP (in this case GoDaddy) is letting me do through a management console. I believe PHP is able to do this, and I'd be willing to consider a PHP page for this purpose if that's possible.

  Hello! I'm opening a connection to WebService with an URLConnection class. I also set request property for basic authorization like this: c.setRequestProperty("Authorization", "Basic " + usernameAndPasswordEncoded); Where c is an object of type URLConnection. So this is client side of WebService call. Now on server side I need to get username from session: User user = (User) request.getSession().getAttribute("user"); But this won't get an username. Also if I look through debug mode, I see an anonymous userName in HttpSession object. What to do to solve this problem, so that username is sent through client to WebService server for authorization? In the DataGrid's AutoGeneratingColumn event I have some code that looks like this: if (e.Property.Name.Contains("MetaData")) { var descCol = new DataGridTextColumn(e.Property); var bnd = new Binding("Description"); bnd.Mode = BindingMode.TwoWay; descCol.Binding = bnd; e.Column = descCol; e.Column.Header = "Description"; return; } The column binds to a type MetaData which has a string property named Description that I would like displayed in my DataGrid. So far I've been unable to get the value of the Description property to display in my DataGrid. I think the path I am passing into the Binding constructor might be incorrect. I've tried "MetaData.Description" as well and it doesn't work either. Can anyone help me properly set up the binding on my DataGridTextColumn?

  We want to redirect all request in an ASP.NET site to ~/Default.aspx to close the site. We are using IIS7. The site has paths like this that return a page: http://test.com/operating We are using url rewriting. We want requests similar to those to be redirected to ~/Default.aspx http://test.com// http://test.com/.aspx http://test.com//.aspx We would normaly use something like this in web.config: <customErrors mode="On" defaultRedirect="Default.aspx"> <error statusCode="404" redirect="Default.aspx" /> </customErrors> The problem with this is that it won't redirect folder url like this http://test.com/*/ Thanks!

• Bitbanging a PIO on Coldfire/ucLinux

  Here's the problem: I need to program some hardware via 2 pins of the PIO (1 clock, 1 data). Timing constraints are tight - 10ms clock cycle time. All this, of course, whilst I maintain very high level services (CAN bus, TCP/IP). The downstream unit also ACKS by asserting a PIO pin, configured as an input, high. So this loop has to both read and write. I need to send 16 bits in the serial stream. Is there an established way to do this sort of thing or should I simply get the hardware guys to add a PIC or somesuch. I'd much prefer to avoid exotics like RTAI extensions at this stage. I did once see a reference to user-mode IO which implied a possible interrupt driven driver but lost track of it. Any pointers welcomed.

• PDB file from different versions of Visual Studio

  I have an old DLL file which was built with VC++ 6. Now I need to investigate the dump file but I don't have its PDB available. The stacktrace reported by WinDbg is also inaccurate. Is it possible to rebuild the project with later versions of Visual Studio i.e. 2003, 2005, 2008, have the PDB generated, and use this to map addresses to symbols in the old DLL? Is there something like VC 6.0 compatible mode for building project? Obtaining VC++ 6 is one option, but it looks like VS6.0 has already vanished from MSDN subscriber download page :( Thanks!
