• On Edit Grid view Multiple row edit validation

  I am using a telerik radgrid so there are around 5 columns each column edittemplate contains a control along with a required field validator and also a property called AllowMultiRowEdit is set to true so i am able to multiple rows in edit mode. If any of the values are cleared the for multiple rows I want only those to be validated on update of that particular row. So i implemented the Grids item data bound event find each and every validator along with the update button and set a unique validation group. The above implementation most times but fails at some time. Is there any other way of going about this ?

  I'm trying to make the domain model of a management system. I have the following kinds of persons in this system: employee manager top mananger I decided to define a User, from where employee, manager and top manager will specialize from. What I don't know is what kind of specialization hierarchy I should choose from. I thought of two ways: or Which might be preferable and why? As a long time coder, every time I try to do a domain-model, I have to fight against the idea of trying to think in how I'm going to code this. From what I've understood, I should not think about those matters in the domain-model, only in object relationships. I don't have to think of code duplication or any of these kind of details here, so I can't really pick any of the options over the other. Thanks

• SharePoint filtered column that only allows item to be used once

  I have a WSS 3.0 site that I use for change management. There are three primary lists on it -- a bug list, an enhancement list, and a release list. The release list has two lookup columns that provide a list of bugs and enhancements that are included in that particular release. I am trying to figure out how to filter the bug and enhancement list to include only items that have not already been included in another release. All the docs and examples I have seen regarding filtered lookups deal with a query on the list itself. For my situation, and if this was a SQL query, I would need to use a LEFT JOIN to generate the list.

• IntelliJ IDEA :: Deploy android application onto Samsung S5300

  I'm trying to deploy the app onto my phone (Samsung S5300) I created project in IDEA and it works well in Android emulator. Now I want to deploy it onto my phone. I did the following: plugged USB enabled development mode and checked all options (USB, location etc) on the phone launched the same configuration but specified the device from the plugged devide (choose a running device) nothing happened, I don't see any errors neither in IDEA, not on the phone. What am I missing and how to fix the problem? The API SDK seems to be correct (2.3)

• Application crashes when running in iPhone simulator 3.2 (Works fine in simulator 3.0)

  I just upgraded to SDK 3.2. My application runs in Simulator 3.0 in debug mode but when I change the Simulator to run with 3.2 it crashes with EXEC_BAD_ACCESS. • Listview Cancel/Update causes Failed Veiwstate Error

  I am utilizing a asp.net Listview control which is causing a Failed to load viewstate error after a row is put in edit mode and the user clicks either update or cancel. The ListView control is in an ascx User control that is hosted in a parent aspx page. The parent aspx code-behind calls the a bind method on the ascx page which in turn binds the ListView. I am trying to isolate where and how this is happening but have not had any success and frankly I am out of ideas. Please offer some suggestions on what I should be looking at. Thank you.

  I've setup the following: Installed Mylyn in Eclipse Installed the Bugzilla connector Installed Subversive SVN Integration for the Mylyn Project I've gone to Windows - Preferences - Tasks - Team and clicked Change Set Management and left it with the default Commit Comment Template: ${task.status} - ${connector.task.prefix} ${task.key}: ${task.description} ${task.url} However, if I activate a bugzilla bug in the Task List, and then edit a file, when I commit the changes the commit message isn't filled in. Also, in the Synchronisation perspective there isn't a change set for the task I'm working on. I've tried following the instructions on the Eclipse wiki's Mylyn FAQ for Why does task change set not appear when I modify files? but the bullet point: * Verify that the configured Synchronize View is configured for change sets. points to a section that is no longer in the document. I have a Show Change Sets button, but clicking it only shows me incoming change sets, there aren't any outgoing change sets. What am I missing?

• Emacs enum indentation

  I'm having a problem with Emacs's indentation of Java enums. While it indents the first member OK, it wants to give all of the rest of the static enum members an additional level of indentation. It looks like this: class MyClass { public enum MyEnum { ONE(1), //good TWO(2), // not good! THREE(3), FOUR(4); private final int value; } } When I run C-c C-s on the line that opens the enum, it gives me ((inclass 1) (topmost-intro 1)), which doesn't seem quite right -- it seems like it should be giving brace-list-open. When I run it on the first enum member, it gives me ((defun-block-intro 21)), which is definitely not right. Every subsequent member gives (statement-cont 50). I'm in java-mode and I'm using the java style of indentation. Does anyone know what the problem might be?

• Stack trace in website project, when debug = false

  We have a website project. We are logging unhanded exceptions via a appdomain level exception handler. When we set debug= true in web.config, the exception log is showing the offending line numbers in the stack trace. But when we set debug = false, in web.config, log is not displaying the line numbers. We are not in a position to convert the website project in to webapplication project type at this time. Its legacy application and almost all the code is in aspx pages. We also need to leave the project in 'updatable' mode. i.e. We can't user pre-compile option. We are generating pdb files. Is there anyway to tell this kind of website projects to generate the pdb files, and show the line numbers in the stack trace?

• What should I grab as a development platform, an iPod or an iPad?

  Hey all, I've recently gotten into the world of contract programming, and two of my clients have indicated that they'd like to do something 'trendy', like ipod touch/iphone/ipad development. I have a mac laptop (first gen macbook pro) that I'll have to upgrade to snow leopard to do the development for any of them, from what I've read. So that's already a bit of a commitment, given all the stuff I have on that laptop I'll have to make sure is recoverable from backup. My budget is limited, but I think I need to learn this skill. Which device should I get to learn this kind of development, an iPod touch or an iPad? I don't have the money for an iPhone. I think that the iPhone/iPad SDK has an emulator mode, but I like to have the device I'm going to roll out on available to make sure that everything works as I'd expect, ie, what's easily readable on a laptop screen is still readable on the touch, etc.

  Greetings, in my mvc application when I try to connect to wcf service I get this error It is invalid to show a modal dialog or form when the application is not running in UserInteractive mode. Specify the ServiceNotification or DefaultDesktopOnly style to display a notification from a service application. The problem only occurs on production server (Win2008, IIS7). On my development server (WinXp, IIS6) it works ok. Additionally. I can connect from asp.net mvc development to wcf production service. I can't do this od production server (asp mvc production to production wcf service)

• Invoking play on a QTMovie causes screensaver to deactivate on Snow Leopard

  I'm trying to port a working Leopard screensaver to Snow Leopard but it's deactivating after about half a second. The screensaver seems to deactivate upon invoking play on a QTMovie. And it deactivates both upon -play on the QTMovie object itself, and -play:self on the QTMovieView. If I don't actually call -play on the object, the screensaver does not deactivate and sits still on the first frame of the movie. Setting up the same code in a regular Cocoa Application works fine, and the screensaver also works fine in preview mode in the System Preferences. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  Hi all, I'm a bit new to using emacs for webdevelopment. I am using php-mode and i am happy with it. There is only one issue i have which causes me a lot of problems because of our company's coding style. When i have a function, e.g.: $instance = new Model('foo', 'bar'); And I want to indent it like this: $instance = new Model( 'foo', 'bar' ); Emacs does the following when i insert a newline before the first argument and indents it like this: $instance = new Model( 'foo', 'bar' ); Can anyone point me in a direction on how i can configure/change this? • Change write-host output color based on foreach if elseif outcome in Powershell

  I'm trying to change the color of write-host output based on the lastrunoutcome property of SQL Server jobs in Powershell....as in...if a job was successfull, the output of lastrunoutcome is "Success" in green....if failed, then "Failed" in red. I have the script working to get the desired job status...I just don't know how to change the colors.   Hi I have a web application running in cluster mode with a load balancer. It consists in two tomcats (T1, and T2) addressing only one DB. T2 is nfs mounted to T1. This is the only dofference between both nodes. I have a java method generating some files. If the request runs on T1 there is no problem but if the request is running on node 2 I get an exception as follows: java.io.IOException: Invalid argument at java.io.FileOutputStream.close0(Native Method) at java.io.FileOutputStream.close(FileOutputStream.java:279) The corresponding code is as follows: for (int i = 0; i < dataFileList.size(); i++) { outputFileName = outputFolder + fileNameList.get(i); FileOutputStream fileOut = new FileOutputStream(outputFileName); fileOut.write(dataFileList.get(i), 0, dataFileList.get(i).length); fileOut.flush(); fileOut.close(); } The exception appears at the fileOut.close() Any hint? • iPad crashes that aren't happening on iPhone or iPod Touch

  Has anyone had difficulty getting what has otherwise been a solid iPhone app working on the iPad? I was under the impression that iPhone apps would run without problems on the iPad. We are are experiencing crashes (not intermittent - same place, at same time) that we've never gotten on the iPhone or iPod Touch.   Hi, I have been programming with NSXMLParser for quite a while and lately, I came out with this error. The strangiest thing is that it only happens in debug mode. Once I load the App in Simulator and run it from Simulator (without Xcode involved), it runs fine. The code is very straight foward, it is a simple XML parsing whose contents were loaded from the web in a separated thread. Does anybody have alredy encoutered that error?? Thanks in advance.

• Keeping a database structure up to date in a project where code is on subversion?

  I have been working with Subversion for a while now, and it's been incredible for the management of my projects, and even to help managing the deployment to several different servers, but there is just the one thing that still annoys me. Whenever I make any changes to the database structure, I need to update every server manually, I have to keep track of any changes I made, and because some of my servers run branches of the project (modifications that are still being worked on, or were made for different purposes), it's a bit awkward. Until now, I've been using a "database.sql" file, which is a dump of the database structure for a specific revision. But it just seems like such a bad way to manage this. And I was wondering, how does everyone else manage their MySQL databases when they're working on a project and using Subversion?

• SQLce Select query problem

  Wrote a Truck show Contest voting app, financial etc using sqlite. decided to write backup app for show day using ce 3.5. Created db moved to data directory, created tables configured dgridviews all is well. Entered some test data started management studio 08 ran select query against table and got null returns. Started app from vs studio and found that test data is gone. Re entered data ran query in MS data gone again. If I use VS Studio can start and enter data, close app restart and data is still there, seems only when using outside tool on select query data deletes. I don't know ce that well but this cannot be right. select * from votes = delete * from votes??????????????

• Skinning WinAPI Controls

  If you've ever seen an application in the Adobe Creative Suite 5 (CS5), you may have noticed that it doesn't look like the native Windows GUI.. They have modified it to have a different look to it. Where would someone begin to make an application that has a custom skin? CS5 uses the Adobe Source library for it's widget/control management, so I tried downloading and compiling the Adobe Source Library to see if I could make a nice skinned app like Photoshop CS5, but after finally getting it to compile and tested it, I realized the library was only for managing widgets and not skinning the GUI, like CS5 has. Where would I begin to make a nice skinned program like Adobe Cs5 applications? Can anyone point me in the right direction? Do I simply use the WM_PAINT Message from WinAPI and render my own widgets using openGL or something?
