• Android ImageView clickable overlays

  Hello, I have a ImageView and draw some things on that view. Now I want to have the position of the click in the onClickListener. Although I think that's not really possible (storing the position in the onTouchListener is not working), I want to ask, if there is any other way to accomplish that? The goal is to have a image with some overlays, that should be clickable. I thought about AbsolutLayout, but that is depracated, so what now? Thx for any help.

• JMF Registry could not add item (Vista)

  Hello, I'm using JMF to capture video stream (webcam) on my Java project. The camera I'm using is recognized by JMF (JFMStudio) and I manage to get the video stream. However, on JMF Registry Editor - there's a list of available capture devices, when I click "Add" on one of the items (including the one I need) I get a "Could not add item" error. Therefore this camera is not set in the registry of it (god know where) and later on it is not recognized by my project: RGBFormat fmt = new RGBFormat(); // could be YUV - doesn't matter Vector v = CaptureDeviceManager.getDeviceList(fmt); v is empty (while I know the video source is recognized by Java , since I manage to get video on JMF Studio). Now, this happens only on Vista (where else) and not on XP. I have a suspiction that somehow Vista security blocks Java from writing the registry file, but of course, I might be wrong. One more comments: this is vfw:Microsoft WDM Image Capture(Win32):0 device. Any idea ?

  In my World of Warcraft addon, I want to set the cursor to a certain image. I do this using SetCursor. Problem is, whenever the cursor exits my frame and hovers over the WorldFrame, the cursor is reset back to the normal one. I know of a certain addon that does overcome this problem, but I am not too sure how, because its source code is messy as hell. (The addon is Gryphonheart Items, in case you asked yourself.) How do I make the cursor stay?

• Removed MAMP from OS X, dyld still using MAMP libraries

  When I try and use a populator or sphinx on a Ruby app I keep receiving dyld errors. I used to use MAMP on OS X Leopard but since I've upgraded to Snow Leopard and am now using standalone MySQL (10.5 64-bit). $ rake ts:index Would return dyld: Library not loaded: /Applications/MAMP/Library/lib/mysql/libmysqlclient.15.dylib Referenced from: /usr/local/bin/indexer Reason: image not found rake aborted! Even though to remove MAMP I just deleted the /Applications/MAMP directory. But it still looks like dylib has references to it. I've tried running: $ sudo update_dyld_shared_cache -verify and restarting but the problem still persists. OS X 10.6.1, MySQL 5.0.85 (x86_64)

  Macromedia Flash 8 Question: I have a map of Ireland, just a gif, and there are several small buttons representing various point of interest around Ireland, which are scattered across the map. This part works fine. THE PROBLEM: Dublin is too small to contain all of its points of interest (approx 20). THE SOLUTION OnMouseOver Dublin, I would like Dublin to expand to perhaps 5 or 6 times its original size, and I would like to be able to have Dublins Points Of Interests now displayed within this larger dublin area, which sits on top of the Ireland map. OnMouseOut Dublin, this enlarged Dublin region now shrinks back to its original size. MY QUESTION: How do I implement Dublin?? REQUIREMENTS: 1) The expanded Dublin region shud NOT be clickable, it shud simply be a dublin image on a black background. 2) It must be possible to add additional buttons within this expanded Dublin region.   I have code produced by our proprietry system in the Eltron Programming Language: This is sent to Eltron/Zebra label printers to be printed. Is there some kind of software that would allow me to interpret this code to do some form of 'print preview'? • Additional options in MDL

      The Metadata Loader(MDL) enables you to populate a new repository as well as transfer, update, or restore a backup of existing repository metadata. It consists of two utilities: metadata export and metadata import. The export utility extracts metadata objects from a repository and writes the information into a file. The import utility reads the metadata information from an exported file and inserts the metadata objects into a repository.      While the Design Client provides an intuitive UI that helps you perform the most commonly used export and import tasks, OMBPlus scripting enables you to specify some additional options, and manage a control file that allows you to perform more specialized export and import tasks. Is it possible to utilize these options in MDL from Design Client? This article will tell you how to achieve it.      A property file named mdl.properties is used to configure the additional options. It stores options in name/value pairs. This file can be created and placed under the directory <owb installation path>/owb/bin/admin/. Below we will introduce the options that can be specified in the mdl.properties file. 1. DEFAULTDIRECTORY     When we open a Metadata Export/Import dialog in Design Client, a default directory is provided for MDL file and log file. For MDL Export, the default directory is <owb installation path>/owb/bin/. As for MDL Import, the default directory is <owb installation path>/owb/mdl/. It may not be the one you would want to use as a default. You can specify the option DEFAULTDIRECTORY in the mdl.properties file to set your own default directory for MDL Export/Import, for example, DEFAULTDIRECOTRY=/tmp/     In this example, the default directory is set to /tmp/. Be sure the value ends with a file separator since it represents a directory. In Windows, the file separator is “\”. In linux, the file separator is “/”. 2. MDLTRACEFILE     Sometimes we would like to trace the whole process of MDL Export/Import, and get detailed information about operations to help developers or supports troubleshooting. To turn on MDL trace, set the option MDLTRACEFILE in the mdl.properties file. MDLTRACEFILE=/tmp/mdl.trc    The right side of the equals sign is to specify the name of the file for MDL trace information to be written. If no path is specified, the file will be placed under directory <owb installation path>/owb/bin/admin/. However, the trace file may be large if the MDL file contains a large number of metadata objects, so please use this option sparingly. 3. CONTROLFILE       We can use a control file to specify how objects are imported or exported. We can set an option called CONTROLFILE in the mdl.properties file, so the control file can also be utilized in Design Client, for example, CONTROLFILE=/tmp/mdl_control_file.ctl     The control file stores options in name/value pairs. When using control file, be sure the file exists, otherwise an exception java.lang.Exception: CNV0002-0031(ERROR): Cannot find specified file will be thrown out during MDL Export/Import.      Next we will introduce some options specified in control file. ZIPFILEFORMAT     By default, MDL exports objects into a zip format file. This zip file has an .mdl extension and contains two files. For example, you export the repository metadata into a file called projects.mdl. When you unzip this MDL file, you obtain two files. The file projects.mdx contains the repository objects. The file mdlcatalog.xml contains internal information about the MDL XML file. Another choice is to combine these two files into one unzip text format file when doing MDL exporting.    In OMBPlus command related to MDL, there is an option called FILE_FORMAT which is used to specify the file format for the exported file. Its acceptable values are ZIP or TEXT. When the value TEXT is selected, the exported file is in text format, for example, OMBEXPORT MDL_FILE '/tmp/options_file_format_test.mdl' FILE_FORMAT TEXT FROM PROJECT 'MY_PROJECT'    How to achieve this via Design Client when doing an MDL exporting? Here we have another option called ZIPFILEFORMAT which has the same function as the FILE_FORMAT. The difference is the acceptable values for ZIPFILEFORMAT are Y or N. When the value is set to N, the exported file is in text format, otherwise it is in zip file format. LOGMESSAGELEVEL     Whenever you export or import repository metadata, MDL writes diagnostic and statistical information to a log file. Their are 3 types of status messages: Informational, Warning and Error. By default, the log file includes all types of message. Sometimes, user may only care about one type of messages, for example, they would like only error messages written to the log file. In order to achieve this, we can set an option called LOGMESSAGELEVEL in control file. The acceptable values for LOGMESSAGELEVEL are ALL, WARNING and ERROR. ALL: If the option LOGMESSAGELEVEL is set to ALL, all types of messages (Informational, Warning and Error) will be written into the log file. WARNING: If the option LOGMESSAGELEVEL is set to WARNING, only warning messages will be written into log file. ERROR: If the option LOGMESSAGELEVEL is set to ERROR, only error messages will be written into log file. UPDATEPROJECTATTRIBUTES, UPDATEMODULEATTRIBUTES      These two options are used to decide whether updating the attributes of projects/modules. The options work when projects/modules being imported already exist in repository and we use update metadata mode or replace metadata mode to do the MDL import. The acceptable values for these two options are Y or N. If the value is set to Y, the attributes of projects/modules will be updated, otherwise not.      Next, let’s give an example to see how these options take effect in MDL. 1. First of all, create the property file mdl.properties under the directory <owb installation path>/owb/bin/admin/. 2. Specify the options in the mdl.properties file, see the following screenshot. 3. Create the control file mdl_control_file.ctl under the directory /tmp/. Set the following options in control file. 4. Log into the OWB Design Client. 5. Create an Oracle module named ORA_MOD_1 under the project MY_PROJECT, then export the project MY_PROJECT into file my_project.mdl. 6. Check the trace file mdl.trc under the directory /tmp/. In this file, we can see very detail information for the above export task. 7. Check the exported MDL file. The file my_project.mdl is in text format. Opening the file, you can see the content of the file directly. It concats the file my_project.mdx and mdlcatalog.xml. 8. Modify the project MY_PROJECT and Oracle module ORA_MOD_1, add descriptions for them separately. Delete the location created in step 5. 9. Import the MDL file my_project.mdl. From the Metadata Import dialog, we can see the default directory for MDL file and log file has been changed to /tmp/. Here we use update metadata mode, match by names to do the importing. 10. After importing, check the description of the project MY_PROJECT, we can see the description is still there. But the description of the Oracle module ORA_MOD_1 has gone. That because we set the option UPDATEPROJECTATTRIBUTES to N, and set the option UPDATEMODULEATTRIBUTES to Y. 11. • Remove favicon using javascript in Google Chrome

  How can you remove the favicon using Javascript in google chrome? The goal is to return it to the browser default, which is in this case a blank image. I found this question, but it doesn't work if you leave the link.href attribute as empty. Even if the favicon is set because there is a favicon.ico file on the server, I'd like to remove it and set it back to the default. This only needs to work in chrome. Thanks!

I didn't manually include it (though it seems like I should so the user can download it in the one request I make to the combo loader for css). Strangely, I don't see it being downloaded nor do I see it in the JS files themselves. I must be overlooking it. • How do I change the frame position for a custom MKAnnotationView?

  I am trying to make a custom annotation view by subclassing MKAnnotationView and overriding the drawRect method. I want the view to be drawn offset from the annotation's position, somewhat like MKPinAnnotationView does it, so that the point of the pin is at the specified coordinates, rather than the middle of the pin. So I set the frame position and size as shown below. However, it doesn't look like I can affect the position of the frame at all, only the size. The image ends up being drawn centered over the annotation position. Any tips on how to achieve what I want?   Flash CS4, AS2 I have made an interactive tour. It can be seen here: http://www.92YTribeca.org/Tour click on the bottom image Each of the 4 sections are external swf and loaded on level 1. I want a button on one swf (floorplan) to load another swf (facility rentals) AND pinpoint a specific frame on the swf's timeline. I have tried many different ways, all end up loading the swf at the first frame and ignore the rest of the code talking about the timeline. I know I could split this swf up into more external swfs and get the result I want, but I would rather use code if I can. Is what I want to do possible? If so, how do I write the code? Thanks!

  I have a SQL Server CE database that works fine in dev, but when installed on the client has an issue. The SQL Server CE 3.5 dependencies are copied as part of the deployment. The target machine is a clean Windows 7 32-bit Ultimate image. The message for the exception in the event log is: Internal error: Cannot open the shared memory region. It looks like this is SSCE_M_CANTOPENSHAREDMEMORY and the site says there isn't a connection string value to change this and that these issues are typically not resolvable by the end developers. Has anyone run into this, and if so were you able to resolve this issue?

• Store and retrieve images from file system instead of database

  Hi I need a place to store images. My first thought was to use the database, but many seems to recommend using the filesystem. This seems to fit my case, but how do I implement it? The filenames need to be unique, how to do that. Should I use a guid? How to retrieve the files, should I go directly to the database using the filename, make a aspx page and passing either filename or primary key as a querystring and then read the file. What about client side caching, is that enabled when using a page like image.aspx?id=123 ? How do I delete the files, when the associated record is deleted? I guess there are many other things that I still haven't thought about. Links, samples and guidelines are very welcome!

  I have photo gallery code that does image re-sizing and thumbnail creation. I use ImageMagick to do this. I ran a gallery page through Google's Page Speed tool and it revealed that the re-sized images and thumbnails both have about an extra 10KB of data (JPEG files specifically). What can I add to my scripts to optimize the file size? ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I am using the imagick::FILTER_LANCZOS filter with a blur setting of 0.9 when calling the resizeImage() function. JPEGs have a quality setting of 80.

• Web Page Rendering Capture

  I start with describing the problem itself. Rather than a problem I'm looking for a better solution. I have a asp.net page which has a bunch of images and a link underneath it, Each image is infact the latest rendering of the link underneath it. I scheduled a bat script which runs every hour to fetch the images through IECapt a web page rendering capture utility. One thing am annoyed about this utility is it takes a lot of time for the 20 images I have and for few because of the flash content it misses to take the actual screenshot of the website. Now I like to know can this rendering be done by traditional programming am not interested in using any utilities. I'm interested in trying this. The solution need not be necessarily a C# based am ready to try in any other language. Because it gives me a chance to learn. Thank you.
