• Removing whitespace between HTML elements when using line breaks

  I have a page with a row of about 10 imgs. For readability of the HTML, I want to put a linebreak in between each img tag, but doing so renders whitespace between the images, which I do not want. Is there anything I can do other than break in the middle of the tags rather than between them? Edit: Here is a screenshot of what I have so far. I would like the book spine images to display in random combinations, using PHP. This is why I need separate img tags.

• MouseLeftButtonDown not recognized by a ListBox ??

  Hello everybody, I'm encountering a huge problem, I have tried everything I could, but I didn't find any solution. I have a listBox, with a DataTemplate. I want to use the events MouseLeftButtonDown and MouseLeftButtonUp to check the item selected is the same the user clicked on. The problem is the event MouseLeftButtonUp is recognized but not the event MouseLeftButtonDown.   Hi Guys, I'm just starting out and I'm looking for an easy way to sum a simple array. I've read into apple developer site on key value coding and I don't understand how to apply that to my array or if that's the appropriate way to sum this. My stumbling block with the key value coding is the .keypathToProperty - I can sort of understand that you need a further reference in a 2D array but they don't show the array code, only the keypath to the title of the row so I can't figure it out yet. • CheckBox and the ContextMenu

  Hi guys! I have in a ListView with a ContextMenu, it has one CheckBox (the CheckBox has android:focusable="false") and one TextView per row, but you can hide the TextView in the preferences menu. After doing that, the CheckBox wasnt registering the ContextMenu, so of course, why not registerForContextMenu(cb) and unregisterForContextMenu(getListView())? Yes, i did that, but then, when when i call the delete command of onContextItemSelected, the app crashs. AdapterContextMenuInfo info=(AdapterContextMenuInfo)item.getMenuInfo(); db.deletarTarefa(info.id); So here i am, accepting ideias and help! :) Thanks

• Linq to Entities, checking for specific foreign key id?

  I am trying to get rows where the foreign key ParentID == 0, and this is what I am trying but I get a NotSupportedException because it can't translate the ArrayIndex [0]: IQueryable<ApplicationSectionNode> topLevelNodeQuery = from n in uacEntitiesContext.ApplicationSectionNodeSet where (int)n.Parent.EntityKey.EntityKeyValues[0].Value == 0 orderby n.Sequence select n; So I need to pull that ArrayIndex out of the query so that the runtime can successfully translate the query. I'm not sure how to do that though. How does one query a specific object via it's primary key or set of objects via foreign key? Edit: Note that there is not actually a row in the table with NodeId == 0, the 0 is a magic value(not my idea) to indicate top level nodes. So I can't do n.Parent.NodeId == 0

• nHibernate one-to-many inserts but doesnt update

  Instead of getting into code, I have a simple question. Default behavior for a simple one-to-many is that it inserts the child record then updates the foreign key column with the parent key. Has anyone ever had a one-to-many where the child object gets inserted but not updated resulting in a row in my table with a null in the foreign key column? I want the default behaviour for a standard one-to-many. I don't want to have to add the parent as a property to the child. Thanks.

So now problem with rowindex and column index. and after this i have also refresh the table. but still it is not reflecting on table.

• Adding to a multidimensional array in PHP

  I have an array being returned from the database that looks like so: $data = array(201 => array('description' => blah, 'hours' => 0), 222 => array('description' => feh, 'hours' => 0); In the next bit of code, I'm using a foreach and checking the for the key in another table. If the next query returns data, I want to update the 'hours' value in that key's array with a new hours value: foreach ($data as $row => $value){ $query = $db->query($sql); if ($result){ $value['hours'] = $result['hours']; } I've tried just about every combination of declarations for the foreach loop, but I keep getting the error that it's a non-object. Surely this is easier than my brain is perceiving it.

• Sequence Generators in T-SQL

  We have an Oracle application that uses a standard pattern to populate surrogate keys. We have a series of extrinsic rows (that have specific values for the surrogate keys) and other rows that have intrinsic values. We use the following Oracle trigger snippet to determine what to do with the Surrogate key on insert: 'IF :NEW.SurrogateKey IS NULL THEN SELECT SurrogateKey_SEQ.NEXTVAL INTO :NEW.SurrogateKey FROM DUAL; END IF;' If the supplied surrogate key is null then get a value from the nominated sequence, else pass the supplied surrogate key through to the row. I can't seem to find an easy way to do this is T-SQL. There are all sorts of approaches, but none of which use the notion of a sequence generator like Oracle and other SQL-92 compliant DBs do. Anybody know of a really efficient way to do this in SQL Server T-SQL? BTW we're using SQL Server 2008 if that's any help. TIA, Paolo

• Monitor database table for external changes from within Rails application

  I'm integrating some non-rails-model tables in my Rails application. Everything works out very nicely, the way I set up the model is: class Change < ActiveRecord::Base establish_connection(ActiveRecord::Base.configurations["otherdb_#{RAILS_ENV}"]) set_table_name "change" end This way I can use the Change model for all existing records with find etc. Now I'd like to run some sort of notification, when a record is added to the table. Since the model never gets created via Change.new and Change.save using ActiveRecord::Observer is not an option. Is there any way I can get some of my Rails code to be executed, whenever a new record is added? I looked at delayed_job but can't quite get my head around, how to set that up. I imagine it evolves around a cron-job, that selects all rows that where created since the job last ran and then calls the respective Rails code for each row.

When I click on a country(row), it has to push the same view controller's view with cities under that country. I need to see the slide animation, which we usally get while pushing views in navigator. Is it possible to use the pushViewController for the same view controller by calling the tableView reloadData with city data (This should happen when country is selected) ? • The width of a list that contains an embedded matrix grows unexpectedly

  I have a report in reporting services 2005 that includes a list with an embedded matrix and am attempting to put a border on the list, however, when I run the report in visual studio the matrix is growing past the end of the page and therefore the boarder is growing with it causing it to grow into the second page. It appears that there was supposedly a fix for this in reporting services 2000 service pack 1 but I am still experianceing the issue in 2005. The list has a details group that limits the records on a row to 4 using the following expression: =ceiling(rownumber("list1")/4), the matrix has a column group that should recycle those based on the rownumber determined by the list using the following expression: =rowNumber("list1_Details_Group") I have also attempted to put the list in a rectangle in hopes to stop the matrix from growing to no avail. How do I effectivly stop the matrix form growing past the space allowed by the list control?

• postgres store with composite value type, or a better way of attributing an inverted index

  can't seem to figure out the syntax for populating a hstore with a value of composite type -- note: I do not want to convert a record to a hstore. select hstore('hello => ROW(1,2)'); I know it's something simple; However, google is not my friend today. use case : custom inverted index. The data is modelling an inverted index of lexemes, the composite data types are various probabilities related to the lexemes which I will use to implement document clustering. Does anyone know a better way of doing this ? I'm open to using an external system if it allows attaching attributes to key-posting pairs in the inverted index. I'd use something external if it had solid support for what I am trying to do, I suspect that sticking 3-10k lexemes per tuple and then doing batch processing on them is gonna be nasty as the whole hstore will have to be parsed and converted .

I have certain controls in my page and GridView/DataGrid as last control, when I navigate (Tab key navigation) on my page. I can navigate from first control to GridView but when I finish all editable items in grid the tab control goes to browser address bar. I need this should focus to again first control on the page. My question is how can I do this? If it is an ordinary controls then I can use (on key down) attribute of the same.. here how can I get access to the last row's last column on the grid view.

• iPhone - finding items in current entity that share related item

  G'day Folks My core data driven app has an Events entity, essentially a list of times & venues, with a related Acts entity, the names & bios of the acts appearing at those events. I have a table view that shows the event time & venue (as a table section with 1 row), the act name & act bio that works nicely. If that act is appearing at more than one event I'd like to include another table section that lists those events. I think could get that with event.act.events except that it would include the event I'm currently displaying. Can anyone suggest how to get the data I want & exclude the current record? Even if this throw an error "Specified cast is not valid." "rezultat=(int)cmd.ExecuteScalar();" - the code is executed and the row is inserted in the database, and the execution continues.   I am having trouble with the following simple code List<Car> tempList = new List<Car>(); BindingSource bindingSource = new BindingSource(); bindingSource.DataSource = tempList; dgTempView.DataSource = bindingSource; Here, dgTempView is a data grid view After the above lines execute, the column count in the datagrid view remains 0. And when I try adding a Car instance in tempList, I get an error saying that 'no row can be added to a datagridview control that does not have columns' . I am not able to understand what am I missing here

• MYSQL Inner Join two table over two keys

  I am doing a query to return all users shopping carts, stored in the sb_carts table. The product information stored in sb_carts is referenced over two keys product_sku and school_id. It needs to reference both to return a unique product with unique stock levels etc. When I execute the following query it returns one row, I am expecting 3 rows. I have tried breaking the inner join into two separate joins but this still returns only 1 result. joining only on one key has the desired result, but may be retuning the wrong product. A left join returns 3 rows but some data is missing product specific Here is a simplified example of what I am doing SELECT sb_carts.product_sku FROM sb_carts INNER JOIN sb_products ON sb_products.sku = sb_carts.product_sku AND sb_products.school_id = sb_carts.school_id WHERE sb_carts.order_id = 0 AND sb_carts.user_id = 2 GROUP BY sb_carts.cart_id

• DataReader Behaviour With SQL Server Locking

  We are having some issues with our data layer when large datasets are returned from a SQL server query via a DataReader. As we use the DataReader to populate business objects and serialize them back to the client, the fetch can take several minutes (we are showing progress to the user :-)), but we've found that there's some pretty hard-core locking going on on the affected tables which is causing other updates to be blocked. So I guess my slightly naive question is, at what point are the locks which are taken out as a result of executing the query actually relinquished? We seem to be finding that the locks are remaining until the last row of the DataReader has been processed and the DataReader is actually closed - does that seem correct? A quick 101 on how the DataReader works behind the scenes would be great as I've struggled to find any decent information on it. I should say that I realise the locking issues are the main concern but I'm just concerned with the behaviour of the DataReader here.
