  • How to search for duplicate values in a huge text file having around Half Million records

    I have an input txt file which has data in the form of records (each row is a record and represents more or less like a DB table) and I need to find for duplicate values. For example: Rec1: ACCOUNT_NBR_1*NAME_1*VALUE_1 Rec2: ACCOUNT_NBR_2*NAME_2*VALUE_2 Rec3: ACCOUNT_NBR_1*NAME_3*VALUE_3 In the above set, the Rec1 and Rec2 are considered to be duplicates as the ACCOUNT NUMBERS are same(ACCOUNT_NBR1). Note: The input file shown above is a delimiter type file (the delimiter being *) however the file type can also be a fixed length file where each column starts and ends with a specified positions. I am currently doing this with the following logic: Loop thru each ACCOUNT NUMBER Loop thru each line of the txt file and record and check if this is repeated. If repeated record the same in a hashtable. End End And I am using 'Pattern' & 'BufferedReader' java API's to perform the above task. But since it is taking a long time, I would like to know a better way of handling it. Thanks, Shibu

  • SQL Stored Procedure

    I am trying to run a stored procedure with a while loop in it using Aqua Data Studio 6.5 and as soon as the SP starts Aqua Data starts consuming an increasing amount of my CPU's memory which makes absolutely no sense to me because everything should be off on the Sybase server I am working with. I have commented out and tested every piece of the SP and narrowed the issue down to the while loop.     I have two sets of drop downs for start date and end date. Each date is created by selecting a month, day, and year from 3 separate drop downs. I currently have RequiredFieldValidators on all the drop downs (which just shows a * if nothing has been selected yet), but I need to validate that the end date is greater than the start date. I can take care of the logic behind comparing the dates, but in terms of the validation method used, can someone help me out (I essentially need to validate 6 drop downs all at one time)? I tried a custom validation using client side javascript but couldn't get it to work. Can you even validate multiple drop downs using ASP.NET validation controls? (which is what I would like to do - I can always write the javascript, but was trying to stay away from this). Thanks.

    I've got a form with a bunch of controls on it, and I wanted to iterate through all the controls on a certain panel and enable/disable them. I tried this: var component: TComponent; begin for component in myPanel do (component as TControl).Enabled := Value; end; But that did nothing. Turns out all components are in the form's component collection, not their parent object's. So does anyone know if there's any way to get all the controls inside a control?   • one document.createElement, append it twice, only shows once

    I have a button I want to use in the beginning and the end of the page: var button_save = document.createElement('button'); $("#compteurs").append(button_save); [...] $("#compteurs").append(button_save); but it only appear at the end of the page. If I remove it from the bottom of the page, it appear at the begining of page. It's a kind of pointer. Is there a way to create the button only once and use it twice? Thanks!

My problem is that it will ONLY draw the string in the upper-left portion of the form, roughly 260x260 starting at 0,0. It literally cuts off the text if it goes beyond. Why is this? Shouldn't it work for the entire form?

    I'm using NUnit for testing back-end. Unit tests are being executed while building (I'm using TeamCity for continuous building). Now I hove to test front-end (Silverlight 4.0). Because the tests are being executed while building, I have to simulate browser (TypeMock - is not free, isn't it?) could I use NUnit.Mocks somehow?. How to use NUnit for Silverlight testing? I've found WHITE framework could it help? Any other advises about software/frameworks to use for Silverlight unit testing?

    I have a WinForms app. that when a button is clicked retrieves a bunch of data from database formats it and displays it to the end user. The operation can take 10 - 30 seconds. I would like to display a message to the user in a Dialog just saying "Be patient the operation is running" while the operation is running and then close when the data is ready to be presented to the end user. What is the best way to do this, start a new thread, use a Delegate or something else?

    I can have a table and function defined as: CREATE TABLE mytable ( mycol integer ); INSERT INTO mytable VALUES (1); CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION myfunction (l_myvar integer) RETURNS mytable AS $$ DECLARE l_myrow mytable; BEGIN SELECT * INTO l_myrow FROM mytable WHERE mycol = l_myvar; RETURN l_myrow; END; $$ LANGUAGE plpgsql; In this case l_myvar acts as a bind variable for the value passed when I call: SELECT * FROM myfunction(1); and returns the row where mycol = 1 If I redefine the function as: CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION myfunction (l_myvar integer) RETURNS mytable AS $$ DECLARE l_myrow mytable; BEGIN SELECT * INTO l_myrow FROM mytable WHERE mycol IN (l_myvar); RETURN l_myrow; END; $$ LANGUAGE plpgsql; SELECT * FROM myfunction(1); still returns the row where mycol = 1 However, if I now change the function definition to allow me to pass an integer array and try to this array in the IN clause, I get an error: CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION myfunction (l_myvar integer[]) RETURNS mytable AS $$ DECLARE l_myrow mytable; BEGIN SELECT * INTO l_myrow FROM mytable WHERE mycol IN (array_to_string(l_myvar, ',')); RETURN l_myrow; END; $$ LANGUAGE plpgsql; Analysis reveals that although: SELECT array_to_string(ARRAY[1, 2], ','); returns 1,2 as expected SELECT * FROM myfunction(ARRAY[1, 2]); returns the error operator does not exist: integer = text at the line: WHERE mycol IN (array_to_string(l_myvar, ',')); If I execute: SELECT * FROM mytable WHERE mycol IN (1,2); I get the expected result. Given that array_to_string(l_myvar, ',') evaluates to 1,2 as shown, why arent these statements equivalent. From the error message it is something to do with datatypes, but doesnt the IN(variable) construct appear to be behaving differently from the = variable construct? What are the rules here? I know that I could build a statement to EXECUTE, treating everything as a string, to achieve what I want to do, so I am not looking for that as a solution. I do want to understand though what is going on in this example. Is there a modification to this approach to make it work, the particular example being to pass in an array of values to build a dynamic IN clause without resorting to EXECUTE?     Hi I've just started learning rails and been going through some tutorials from learning rails (http://www.buildingwebapps.com/podcasts/79335-putting-the-page-contents-into-the) The tutorials appear to be Rails v2 and I'm on Rails v3 There is a line in the routes file which appears to be causing a problem map.view_page ':name', :controller => 'viewer', :action => 'show' The line works for the front end view i.e. my viewer controller but not for the back end I get the error NoMethodError in Viewer#show I think this has something to do with the view I am using and the line <%= @page.body %> I know it's difficult without the full code but if anyone can help that would be awesome

So the question is this: I want the user to enter the info for the product in the form but it also involves putting in the price of the product which exists in a different model/table (user_product) that is associated with product. How can I do this? You can see that my form_for uses @product. Any help will be appreciated.

  • Want to set 'src' of script to my IP.

    I have a script that links to the server I am hosting (IP can change) usually I would just use for links: var url ='http://' + window.location.hostname + 'end of url'; But in this case it isnt appearing to be so easy. I have tried: (1) $('#scriptid').attr('src', url); as well as: (2) var script = document.createElement( 'script' ); script.type = 'text/javascript'; script.src = url; $("#insert").append( script ); Now case (2) works loads the script runs the script. But when at the end of my script it hits the 'write data' it decides to replace the entire page with just the data. Any idea on how I can do this?
