    Adobe Illustrator CS5 quit unexpectedly. I'm upgraded to Mac OS X 10.8.1. Now I can't open Adobe Illustrator CS5. I've tried by turning off Java 32 and 64 of Java Preferences.app in Utilities. Does anyone know how to solve this?   • When spliting MP4s with ffmpeg how do I include metadata?

    I have a few MP4s that i want to upload to my flickr account but they have a maximum size of 500mb as mine is only about 550 i was planing to simply split them in half then upload them, but i want to make sure all the meta data is included but it does not seem to be.     I just had trouble running VMWare player (version 3.1.0 build-261024) on Win 7 and got this error: Error while powering on: The following error occurred when starting VMware Player.W32AuthConnectionLaunch: Reply error "The system cannot find the file "" (code: 3).". I Googled the error and turns out the fix is to run VMWare Player as Administrator. I decided to paste the error and fix here so this site would also include the fix :) (I hope this get's indexed by google)

  • Ubuntu 9.10 will not boot

    After an update yesterday my Dell X300 will only boot to a screen with an option to perform 2 memory tests. If I perform these tests, it will only go back to this same screen, offering a choice of memory test again, 86+ or 86+ serial console 115200. This screen is headed - GNU Grub version 1.97 beta 4. This is a full install on my hard drive. How can I get back to booting normally?

    I need to add shapes that have been available in Paint Shop Pro since version 7 like curved arrows, etc. I gave Paint.Net and IrfanView a try, but they don't seem to support more sophisticated shapes than straight lines, circles, or rectangles. If this is correct, does someone know of a PSP-equivalent open-source solution for Windows? Thank you.

    I've just installed IE9 on my workstations and Server in our network. According to technet article http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg699401.aspx There is a GPO setting for IE9 called "Configure Tracking Protection Lists" located at Windows Components\Internet Explorer\Privacy in the admistrative templates. I can find all the other IE9 settings in the GPO, but I cannot find this one. Does anyone know if there is an updated template, or if this setting was removed from the RC version of IE9?     HI Folks, i have an Inspiron E1505 with Windows 7 and Intel GMA 945 Chipset. I connected a Dell SP2309W 23" monitor via VGA to the laptop but it is not achieving it's original resolution but is stuck at 1024 x 768. Also it is detected as a Generic Non PNP Display Device. I upgraded my display driver to latest version and it fully supports Windows 7. What more can i do? Any help. Thanks a Lot in advance

    I tried using the GNU Emacs download, unzipped it and then clicked on emacs.exe, but got some obscure error. Then I tried Cygwin emacs, but when I press ctrl x ctrl c to quit emacs it thinks I pressed ctrl x ctrl "g"!!! I checked all the key mapping and they work otherwise in Emacs. Is there another version of emacs for windows that just works!

    I have the standalone Hyper-V Server 2012 running and I'm trying to create the first VM on it but I'm getting the following error: From my research, this error comes up with something related to the Intel IPMI driver but I have an Asus motherboard so I didn't think it was the problem.   • Sysinternal's Process Explorer v14 doesn't show network activity

    The new version of Process Explorer shows network activity history, but it doesn't in one of my computers. This particular PC runs Windows XP SP3 and it has just been reformatted so everything is "fresh". I have even installed WinPCap and Microsoft Network monitor, in case some of these drivers were necessary, but the graph stays in 0. Any ideas why this could happen? I would ask in Sysinternal's forum, but I really don't want to register in yet another forum.

    I'm using google chrome beta version, recently i found all my saved authentications get lost when closing the window and reopen. It is not saving any passwords or "stay signed in" or "remember me in this computer". This applies for gmail, facebook, yahoo, etc. the issue is only with chrome, while firefox and IE are still ok. Is it something i messed up, or is it just chrome?
