    The lookup function in Data.Map and Data.IntMap currently return values wrapped in Maybe with the type signature lookup :: Ord k => k -> Map k a -> Maybe a It used to have the more general type of lookup :: (Monad m, Ord k) => k -> Map k a -> m a I realize the former likely reduces the need of extra type specification, but the latter would make it much more general and allow lookup to be used in list comprehensions. Is there any way to mimic this behavior with the newer version, or would I have to use an older version of the library?

  • How can I add an event handler to an event by name?

    I'm attempting to add an event handler for every control on my form. The form is a simple info box which pops up, and clicking anywhere on it does the same thing (sort of like Outlook's email notifier.) To do this, I've written a recursive method to add a MouseClick handler to each control, as follows: private void AddMouseClickHandler(Control control, MouseEventHandler handler) { control.MouseClick += handler; foreach (Control subControl in control.Controls) AddMouseClickHandler(subControl, handler); } However, if I wanted to add a handler for all of the MouseDown and MouseUp events, I'd have to write two more methods. I'm sure there's a way around this, but I can't find it.   • Is there an effective way to test XSL transforms/BizTalk maps?

    Creating repeatable tests for BizTalk maps is frustrating. I can't find a way to handle testing them like I'd do unit testing, because I can't find ways to break them into logical chunks. They tend to be one big monolithic unit, and any change has the potential to ripple through the map and break a lot of unit tests. Even if I could break it up, creating XML test inputs is painful and error prone. Is there any effective way of testing these? I'd settle for recommendations for testing XSL transforms in general, but I specifically mention BizTalk maps primarily for the reason that when using the mapper, there really isn't any way to break your XSLT into templates (which I'd imagine you could use to break up your logic into testable chunks, but I've honestly never gotten that far with XSLT).

    Hi, JQuery newbie here! I'm having difficulty stacking more than one slideshow with each it's own individual controls. The one slideshow works just fine.     I load a piece of html which contains something like: <em> < input type="text" value="Untitled" name="ViewTitle" id="ViewTitle" runat="server"> </em> into my control. The html is user defined, do please do not ask me to add them statically on the aspx page. On my page, I have a placeholder and I can use LiteralControl target = new LiteralControl (); // html string contains user-defined controls target.text = htmlstring to render it property. My problem is, since its a html piece, even if i know the input box's id, i cannot access it using FindControl("ViewTitle") (it will just return null) because its rendered as a text into a Literal control and all the input controls were not added to the container's control collections. I definitely can use Request.Form["ViewTitle"] to access its value, but how can I set its value?

  • WPF Frame accessing parent page controls

    I have a WPF page that contains a Listbox and a frame. The frame has various pages loaded into it determined by the selection within the Listbox. Each page within the frame has a variety of different input boxes and has a Save Cancel button. When the Save button is clicked I need the content to be saved to the database and the Listbox in the parent page to be refreshed to reflect the new data. Saving the data is easy but how do I initiate a refresh on the contents of the Listbox in the parent page when calling it from the page that inside the frame? I need to somehow be able to access the parent pages controls to do this. Any ideas?

  • Add a delay to OnContactDown events for Surface controls

    We're using the Controls.PreviewContactDown, PreviewContactUp, and PreviewContactChanged events to capture tagged items being placed, removed, and moved on the Surface, which works great in the Simulator application that comes with the surface. On an actual Surface if you moved a tagged item too quickly the cameras actually lose focus of the tag, assume it was removed, and then re-capture it when it stops moving. That provides a pretty poor experience for our clients. What I'm proposing is a way to override or create a new event that would respond to tagged item events, but not fire the event handler until after a delay... i.e. if "ContactUp" is fired, wait 100ms and THEN execute the event handler. Ideally we'd just be able to use an alternate attached property to define these event handlers, i.e. <Panel local:TagDown="TagDownEventHandler" /> And if we could get it to use ICommand objects instead of event handlers that'd be even better.

Currently I am aware only of two such a controls: AxWebBrowser (as far as I understand this is IE-based ActiveX control for winforms) Nabu HTMLView (open source library with visualizing capabilities). Are there any other choices? What are their cons and pros? How configurable they are? For example I want to disable navigation and scripts, hook onto loading methods to override resources loading and so on.

  • Handling multiple UISwitch controls in a table view without using tag property

    I have a table view controller with multiple UISwitch controls in them. I set the delegate to the table view controller with the same action for all switches. I need to be able to determine what switch was changed, so I create an array of strings that contains the name of each switch. The indexes in the array will be put in the tag property of each UISwitch. However, I'm ready using the tag property for something else, namely to find the right control in the cell in cellForRowAtIndexPath with viewWithTag! (There are several things I need to set within each cell.) So, am I thinking along the right lines here? I feel I'm rather limited in how I find out exactly which UISwitch changed its value, so I can do something useful with it.

    I am upgrading a website written using ASP.NET 1.1 and the logic for the login page includes verifying the credentials, calling FormsAuthentication.SetAuthCookie() and populating the Session with the user information. I am updating this page to use Login controls and the Membership API and am trying to wrap my head around the concepts that have been changed. Most of the samples I see do not do anything on the login button event handler, so is the logic of setting the cookie abstracted out into the control? Also, how do I check if a user is logged in or not on other pages. Does it still store user information using the Session? How do I check if a user belongs to a particular role or not (Earlier, I would look in the Session object to do something like this) Is the Session a bad way of storing user info? Thanks

    Hi, I created a custom canvas control inheriting from WPF Canvas. I am using it like this in main window - <ScrollViewer HorizontalScrollBarVisibility="Auto" VerticalScrollBarVisibility="Auto"> <RTD:RTDesignerCanvas Margin="5" Background="White" x:Name="canvas1" Focusable="True" AllowDrop="True"> </RTD:RTDesignerCanvas> </ScrollViewer> Everyhting works fine but when I try to set the position of controls inside it like this Canvas.SetTop(item, 200); scrollbars are not visible and control is hiddedn down somewhere. Intrestingly, if I add another control to it scroll bars are visible and I can scroll downwards to see the previous control. I tried to use base.InvalidateVisual(); base.UpdateLayout(); base.InvalidateArrange(); after changing items Top or Left but nothing happens; Am I missing something or this happens due to some bug?

  • Are Inherited Forms And/Or Inherited Controls possible in Managed C++

    Hello everyone The question is actually pretty self explanatory but I will further clarify it. I am building a simple application to show a load [file] for 5 different types of [files]. So all these 5 forms will have similar GUI elements such as a listbox and a load button with a small textbox/label to show the summary of the [file]'s information. My desired effect is something like visual studio's C# template for Inherited User controls or Inherited forms. I already heavily googled the concept to look for a C++ visual studio template to the trick but I couldn't find it. The word [file] is in brackets because open file dialogue will not the trick as this list of files to select form comes form an SQL server. Thanks a lot!
