    I'm looking for a tool that allows me to easily re-wrap text (i.e. remove line breaks, but not paragraph breaks from a text selection or a text field), and that works in my browser (Chrome) and on Windows. Bonus points for anything that works outside the browser, and that works in-place (i.e. that doesn't require copy-pasting the text through a separate window or using something like http://www.textfixer.com/tools/remove-line-breaks.php) Browser extensions, GreaseMonkey scripts or applications that also work on Linux and/or Mac (or even better, that are multi-platform) are all welcomed.   • GeForce 9600GT support for dual monitor setup

    I have a NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT (point of view, link) on an Asus M2V-MX motherboard. The card has one DVI, HDMI and S-Video output. The graphics card does not seem to support dual monitors: the driver control panel for the graphics card does not detect a second monitor that is attached via S-Video (which leads me to believe that it doesn't support dual monitors with DVI and the other connections). Would it be possible to use a VGA/DVI splitter to attach two monitors to the single DVI output on the graphics card? Would this allow for a dual monitor setup, or only mirroring? How do I know if the graphic card supports this? With this particular motherboard, would it be possible to use the onboard video for another monitor?

    With VMWare it works fine and I can run multiple cores on a VMWare image. With Sun VirtualBox I can only run 1 cpu on a image. Its annoying. Why does Sun Virtualbox not work the same as VMWare in this respect?? My CPU is: XEON 3.00GHz Intel 90nm 2MBCache QUAD CPU x14 Socket 604 mPGA Family 15 Model 4(04) Stepping 3 Revision 05 MMX SSE3 XD SIV.exe tells me: No virtual machine extensions x86 with 64-bit support NO IA64 support MPS but with NO MCP 2 physical processors, 2 cores, 4 logical processors

    I am trying to get read/write support for NTFS drives, under Mac os 10.6. I have tried to use NTFS 3G, but it seems it does not support 64 bit kernels. I was unable to change my Mac's Kernel to 32 bit. Is there a solution? I am running Snow Leopard, under a 2011 MBP13 I am getting the following error.   • Does Dreamweaver subversion support branching?

    Adobe Dreamweaver added support for subversion in CS4. I have CS5, I am able to update and commit, they even have a very easy rollback option where you can promote any revision number to "head" but I cannot figure out anyway to branch using it. According to Adobe their subversion support is not full featured. But I cannot find any resource that stats what all is supported. So is branching one of the things not supported? (I kind of feel like whats the point without branching?) If you can do it, how?

  • Why no Win16 support in 64-bit Windows?

    My understanding (from Wikipedia) is that the x64 instruction set supports executing 16-bit protected mode code from long mode, but cannot execute real mode code without being switched out of long mode because long mode lacks virtual 8086 mode. Therefore, it stands to reason that real mode DOS apps can't be run in Win64 w/o software emulation or dynamic translation. However, why was support for Win16 protected-mode apps excluded when support for them seems (at least at first glance) to be reasonably implementable and is included in newer versions of Win32? Was it just a matter of demand not being high enough to justify implementation costs (and the win32 version was already implemented), or is there a good technical reason?

    Possible Duplicate: What’s your favorite ticketing system? I was wondering if somebody could recommend me a very user friendly or simple general purpose ticketing/tech support system. I need something that is web based, preferably open-sourced/free software implemented using PHP, Ruby, Ruby on Rails or Java (as back end) with MySQL or PostgreSQL as database engine. I need something that is not development management oriented or project management oriented like Eventum or similar (random example), something to which the user can connect open a tech support request and be able to follow it until is solved or dropped.I need it to be open-sourced to be able to modify it if there is a need or extend it. I tried a number of such systems available and I found that osTicket or eTicket is something that it's close to what I need, but the code is somewhat flaky and some of the features are working badly or behaving strangely. Any thoughts/advice where to find something similar? Thanks!

We manufacture multiple devices and now i want to make a wiki which contains all sorts of relevant and helpful information on that product which the users can look at before trying to contact us for support? Now immediately the 1st option that comes to my mind in Media wiki but I dont just want to jump on the band wagon. I thought I would ask around first. It should preferable be free. But obviously if its really worth paying for then thats not the end of the world. And the uploading of content and media is not of much importance as the end users will simply be reading the information which the company has published. Another nice to have but is not critical is if it where to run on asp.net as we have Microsoft server running anyway.

My initial research found that MagicDraw and Casewise claim support for version 2.0; and several other tools have support for earlier (or unspecified) DoDAF/MoDAF versions including Sparx Enterprise Architect, Troux, IDS Scheer ARIS, Artisan Studio and Rational System Architect. Experiences with any enterprise architecture tools and DoDAF 2.0 would be appreciated.     Does anyone know of an updated list of refactoring support for different IDEs? How many of Fowlers refactorings have tool support in popular IDEs? And does any IDE use code smells to any greater extent? I guess one would have to use addons for some IDEs, so even if i did find an updated list of refactoring support for say Eclipse, that would probably not be representative.

    I have a local testing environment in a Fedora virtual machine. Strangely, resources (css and js files) don't seem to work. Looking at Firebug, I see that the browser sends the HTTP request with "Range bytes=0-". The server responds with either an empty 200OK or an empty 206 Partial Content. Attempts: I tried onunload, does not work window.onunload = function redirect(){...} I also tried another method, it does not work as well: window.onbeforeunload = redirect(){...} <body onbeforeunload="return false; redirecty()"> The 3rd method, i want to cancel the onbeforeunload (means delay closing the browser), the I call the redirect function, window.confirm, if yes redirect, if no then close the browser. But it does not work as well. Is there any other way?? Run out of ideas... -- Prompt to let user select whether to redirect to new page when he/she close the browser -- This is the first time, I could not get best answer in stackoverflow :(

  • Level of SVG SMIL (animation) support among the browsers

    Hi, Does anyone know the current state of SVG SMIL animation support in the popular browsers? It looks like Safari, Chrome, and Opera support it. Firefox has confusing reports in their dev pages about SMIL support having been added, but I don't see it as of v3.6: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=216462 I am ignoring IE since they don't even support SVG at all, and probably never will, much less SMIL. The other thing - just comparing this test page between Safari, Chrome, and Opera: http://srufaculty.sru.edu/david.dailey/svg/ovaling.svg looks like Opera is the only one that renders it correctly. Should we not be using SMIL - kind of looks half-baked in all the browsers (sadly)? Blast. Thanks
